With rioting still going on, the New York Times chooses to run this column by its notoriously lowbrow hothead columnist Charles Blow:

Rage Is the Only Language I Have Left

Society has become horribly desensitized to police killings of Black men.

Do you ever get the feeling that the less true his statement is, the more Charles Blow believes it?

By Charles M. Blow
Opinion Columnist

Yeah, okay, it’s just another Charles Blow column in the New York Times …

April 14, 2021, 8:32 p.m. ET

One of the first times I wrote about the police killing of an unarmed Black man was when Michael Brown was gunned down in the summer of 2014 in Ferguson, Mo. Brown was a Black teenager accused of an infraction in a convenience store just before his life was taken.

The only reason Michael Brown was unarmed when he died was because he failed at his first attempt to take the policeman’s gun.

… Now there is another: Daunte Wright, shot and killed during the day in Brooklyn Center, Minn., not far from where Floyd was killed. There is video.

But once they [the police] are armed and anxious, they can be that way in all cases: against an armed suspect as well as one who is unarmed.

You know, telling which ones are armed and which ones are unarmed can be the tricky part. For example, Daunte Wright apparently did not have a gun in the car in which he attempted to initiate a high speed chase, but the open warrant for his arrest on Aggravated Robbery that the police were attempting to arrest him for was for when he held a gun on a woman and choked her while demanding her rent money.

A commenter points out that there was another warrant out for Wright’s arrest, this one for fleeing the cops and leaving a gun under the seat of a car. From Yahoo News:

Documents for two cases Insider reviewed are publicly available via a records website run by the Minnesota court system.

First case: Wright was accused of carrying a weapon without a permit and fleeing from the police.

Documents in the case are filed under 27-CR-21-4400.

They detail charges that Wright carried a pistol without a permit and ran from the police.

A complaint filed on March 4 said that Wright had had an encounter with the police on June 30 in Minneapolis.

It said officers responded to a call about a man with a gun and found Wright in a car with other people.

The complaint said Wright ran away from the officers, who chased but did not catch him. It said a loaded handgun was found in the car.

Back to Blow:

As for me, I no longer even attempt to manage or direct my rage. … I now focus on my rage.

I’m sure that pain and trauma are present in me, but I’m choosing to subjugate their import. Rage has ascended to my position of primacy. America scoffed and was unmoved when, for years, we spoke out of our pain. So be it. Now, rage is the only language I have left.

Okaaaay …

Should the nation’s largest newspaper really be egging on violence in the nation’s most violent race?

For example, Daunte Green apparently did not have a gun in the car in which he attempted to initiate a high speed chase, but the open warrant for his arrest on Aggravated Robbery that the police were attempting to arrest him for was for when he held a gun on a woman and choked her while demanding her rent money.

You should know that, apparently, another outstanding warrant for Daunte Wright’s arrest was for an unregistered gun found underneath the seat of a car after he had fled another scene.

Something tells me Charles Blow is not going to give up his cushy sinecure as the NYT‘s prolix house negro to go out in the street to howl and leap on police cars.

There was a time when going to the newstand to get the Sunday NYTs was a weekend ritual for me. Now I only know what is in it when Sailer or someother writer I read references an article or column in it. I would no more keep an issue in my home than I would some of those San Francisco vending machine newspapers like ‘Hollywood Hookers’ or The Advocate back in 1990.

That NYT published this is a W for the accelerationist LARPers on twitter. Kudos to Steve for slogging through it and to Charlie Blowhard for serving it up like a steaming platter of you-know-what. The ending of this article gave me cancer. Why do these people seem to let their group therapy sessions bleed into everything they say/do/write?

Seriously, calling Blow “the NYT’s ‘prolix house negro’” is a great line. Sums him up nicely in three little words.

  9. anonymous[139] • Disclaimer says:

Perhaps people like Blow should admonish blacks not to lead lives of crime like Wright apparently was on his way to doing. But that would be asking too much, asking them to act like normal people. Blacks are pretty much the criminal class everywhere as well as the huge block of uneducable youth that have ruined public education. They are America’s albatross and the object of leftist cult worship of the primitive.

  12. Bill P says:

Well, not many blacks read the NYTimes, so I doubt this particular article will provoke much if any violence.

But I am starting to wonder about the potential mental health effects of this overarching narrative. It seems to me that since 2016 media have been deliberately attempting to provoke mass psychosis, and with COVID they finally succeeded. Their success has prompted them to go even farther, to the point where most of what they promulgate is completely at odds with what the vast majority of people, including their readers/viewers, see and experience in daily life.

This goes beyond lies and enters the realm of persecutory delusions. I recently read Freddie deBoer’s account of his 2017 manic episode, in which he made false accusations and threats to kill while in a grandiose, delusional state of mind (much to his credit he has owned it all). Is Charles Blow in the midst of a similar crisis, or is he trying to nudge people in that direction. And, if it’s the latter, then isn’t that kind of crazy, too?

It’s pretty amazing, and unsettling, to see this engineering of mass psychosis play out. There’s nothing subtle about it, and I can only assume the next step is the media equivalent of command hallucinations, which can really get to be “problematic.”

As I’ve come to understand over the years, a coherent narrative – even if occasionally mistaken in some details – is what allows us to function normally as human beings. What we perceive must be integral to that narrative. If, on the other hand, the narrative becomes unmoored from real-world experience, it defines insanity.

I suppose the question then is whether media has the power to actually cause mental illness in previously healthy people. It is known that some media can greatly exacerbate symptoms in those who are already ill, so it probably can tip some people over the edge. How many? Combined with social pressure, perhaps quite a lot.

And here I’m only thinking of people who will have paranoia, persecutory delusions, auditory command hallucinations etc. How about if you include those who do not descend into clinical psychosis, but instead are rendered dysfunctional by a disintegrated narrative?

And then add to these damaged people those who know it’s all a grand delusion, but feel they must play along and thereby pay the penalty of having to strictly police their thoughts to prevent costly “mistakes.” Now we’re getting to a clear majority crippled in some manner by media malfeasance.

What gets me is that people are deliberately creating this environment. It would be comforting, I suppose, if there were some method and reason behind it to explain it all, such as eternal power or controlling the world or something like that, but then when you think about it those reasons are also crazy, and in any case world domination through mass psychosis may sound edgy and diabolically clever, but is there any scenario in which it ends “happily ever after” for anyone involved?

  13. Scripted reality? The CNN-man talking dirty truths about CNN’s exploitation of the CO-19 angst in Project Veritas’ video goes by the name of Charly Chester and this man here is called Charles Blow. – – – I’d have to admit though: Good job if it’d turn out that this is all being scripted…

  14. notsaying says:

If he feels rage about white cops killing black men, what does he feel about blacks killing other blacks, which happens far more often? Many of these killings are stupid as can be but of course are still devasting to friends and families and collectively terrible for the communities where they happen a lot.

Does he feel rage about these killings, too? What would he do to reduce the number of blacks killing blacks? I would like to see him write about this in the New York Times.

Some of the effect has been to drive white people out of consuming mass amounts of media which is largely a waste of time and bad for mental health anyways. I can’t say it’s good in the short term to dramatically increase the negative effects but eventually people will become fed up and abandon these destructive habits. Let blacks “binge” Netflix if they want while everyone else does something productive. Covid has also been a chastening influence people are paying off debt with stimulus checks, and are unable to spend lots of money on garbage due to supply lines being messed up. Bars were closed so they can’t be out binge drinking or eating out every night, a lot are working from home now so they can move out of failing cities into rural areas where it’s easier to afford housing and safer to raise children. Spending more time with family than work colleagues or friends etc.. Of course there are negatives too but it’s not a total loss is what I’m saying.

It’s the only language he’s ever had — it displays in different temperature and modes: boiling rage, white hot rage, simmering rage, quiet rage (which unfortunately he seldom seems to have). What other language is there for black NYT columnists? Basically, they pile adjectives upon “racism”, the latest being “systemic.” The tried and true — “toxic,” “institutional”, etc. wear out and need to be replaced.

But language like Blows brings to mind that this is a not protest movement since it has no clear demands, this is an ethnocentric consciousness-rasing that would ordinarily lead to independence or devolution for the groups homeland. Since there isn’t one, it’s just unending rage.

Very good comment! I too have thought that the present situation, especially concerning Covid-19 (and “climate change” is next on the list), is an example of mass psychosis. I have family members whose IQ is higher than my own, but who simply seem unable to exercise any independent judgment or skepticism, concerning the media portrayal of the present situation. A society gripped by mass psychosis is not one that will make rational decisions. I think that there was a cattle-killing cult in Africa that was a tragic example of mass pyschosis and the American Indian “Ghost Dance” phenomenon was very similar.

  36. NYT: Rage Is the Only Language I Have Left

Well just blow me away–for once i agree with the NYT, i feel the same way too.

  37. Consider who publishes the rag and who still reads it. Both consider blacks their pets. The publishers think of them as their guard dogs. The readers seem to consider them as toy dogs. And in defense of both, why not? The blacks still respond to dog whistles. They apparently have no self respect to go along with their inflated self esteem. So instead they follow the orders of black critical race grifters, who are the real targets of this NYT article. Even when they find out those grifters are living high on the hog next to whitey, they still follow orders. I guess it is about being well trained.

Ashley Babbitt was fatally shot in the back by a black cop, who just got away with it. She was by all accounts a good woman and someone you would like to have as a friend. No white will riot. We just won’t. You will go all out over your human trash. And all because you are following the dog whistle owned by white liberals that is being whistled by an upper middle class black grifters. Black folk you won’t see a dime from all of it, but please enjoy the pilfered hair weaves and Air Jordans. Be the stereotype.

  38. The Times is bad, but the biggest race war gaslighter in America is the BBC.

Do any blacks watch the BBC? I don’t know, but the elites watch it, and think, “well, the Brits think this, so it seems reasonable to agree with them. After all, I like Fawlty Towers.”

The Brits won’t be happy until there’s an all-out race war in America, with millions dead, at which point they’ll offer to step in and help if America re-joins the Commonwealth and apologizes for its rashness in 1776. Think I’m joking?

Here’s WSJ editor emeritus Gerard Baker (a Brit) the other day:

It was a good question then, and it’s more apt than ever now given America’s current predicament. The people that once boldly threw off the tyranny of a distant monarch now seem to be meekly submitting to the diktats of a regnant class and ideology that tolerate less independence of thought and action than King George III did.

The prince’s death last week, two months short of his centenary, presents a timely paradox for the modern United States. Forgive me for saying so to this staunchly republican nation, but what America desperately needs these days is a Prince Philip.

Not a single day goes by without British wheels turning on how to manipulate and control America.

    Well said Altai.

This is more poisonous fruit of minoritarianism.

There can only be one common public culture–set of norms. The norms of the people, the tribe, the nation. And in some sort of civic polity presumably inherently the norms of the majority that is “the nation”.

I have pretty generic “white American” norms. Including that i don’t want to tolerate a bunch of a*holes making my life miserable. We can argue about all sorts of edge cases of what’s legally allowed–ex. public intoxication, drug use, etc. And communities can set particular standards. Perhaps even different standards at different places and times. But at the end of the day, when the police are enforcing whatever standards the community says, and say those magic words “you are under arrest”, then i–white American me–expect the cops to arrest that person. And to jack up the force necessary until they accomplish it. And I particularly do not think there is–and do want there to be–some sort of “not if i don’t feel like it” get-out-of-arrest card that black thugs get because they are black.

Charles Blow has a different set of norms. (Or at least claims to have. I’m pretty sure that absent the racial angle–i.e. if blacks are policing their own black community–a lot of blacks would have absolutely no interest in these cases.) As stated, Blow’s norms–and norms of all the people like him–are simply irreconcilable with my own.

But … he isn’t asking to leave. Of course. Classic minoritarianism. Not a respectible demand for separation, but the core demand of minoritarianism that white gentiles must be available for minorities to loot.

But we need to be clear: We white gentiles–at least those of us with self-respect–do not consider ourselves to be punching bags. We have our norms–different (better) than theirs–and we expect to live by them in the land our ancestors founded.

    Ergo–let us peacefully separate.

However, Herbert was such an opportunist that as soon as Mike Bloomberg replaced Giuliani in January, 2002, Herbert praised the job Giuliani had done, because he then needed to beat up on Bloomberg.

I believe it was the day after the 2016 election that Blow was on a cnn panel. He stood up and moved in on a White man panelist, sticking his finger at the guy, and screaming, “Did you read my last few columns?!” Unfortunately, the White guy didn’t say, “Why would I?”

You keep saying this but how? When? Where? Maybe it’s just a rhetorical device and you have no intention of it become real?

If once upon a time very white Minnesota is not white anymore (BTW, they sent the Somalis to two superwhite places – Minnesota and Maine – an accident?) then where do you put “Whiteland”? Whiteland clearly doesn’t get the super-blue states – they don’t want you and you don’t want them. It’s hard to place Whiteland in the South which has had a huge black population for 200 years. Where exactly do you put Whiteland? How would it function as a kind of rogue state like Rhodesia? Wouldn’t China exploit this split to evict the US(es) from the Pacific and dominate world trade?

It’s a great rhetorical device because it points out the hypocrisy of the Left but the Left doesn’t really care about consistency – they just care about power. Unless you are willing and able to put your money and your blood (“our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor”) where your mouth is, then it’s just a bunch of hot air from an old white guy.

What gets me is that people are deliberately creating this environment.

… is there any scenario in which it ends “happily ever after” for anyone involved?

No, there is no such scenario. Not for anyone.

One possible way to rein in the madness is to point out something that will be obvious to some of us, but perhaps not to the movers and shakers in the media: that chaos and mass psychosis will be very bad for the Jews.

As others (Steve?) have pointed out, Jews may or may not identify as white, but blacks see them as ultra-white. Defunding the police would eventually bring about pogroms, and it will not be “white supremacists” or “the far right” who commit the crimes but blacks who have been told that whites are their enemies: particularly those blacks who are influenced by the Nation of Islam.

As evidence I was going to point to the Twitter page of the Nation of Islam Research Group, which was possibly the only Twitter account that was permitted to carry anti-semitic hate speech, as well as junk advice not to get vaccinated – but it has finally been suspended.

    https://www.foxnews.com/tech/louis-farrakhan-vaccine-claims-posted-to-twitter-despite-misinformation-policies

You can access the recent posts on the Wayback Machine if you leave out the query-string. Although the reason given for the ban is the vaccine misinformation, this may not be the only reason. It seems that Farrakhan recently gave an inflammatory sermon quoting the hostile passages about Jesus and Mary from the Talmud.

Has even one of these haters, liars, and psychotics ever written a column on an issue that has nothing whatever to do with race and black victimhood, “racism,” “white supremacy,” etc.?

It is true that Brooklyn Center is a suburb of Minneapolis, and Minneapolis is where George Floyd was killed, but I do not think of Brooklyn Center as being “not far from where Floyd was killed.”

Numbers of any sort are just White Privilege.
In the Woke universe, Brooklyn Center is “not far” from where Emmett Till was killed.

  61. @Bragadocious

Brit elites hate ordinary Americans just like they (and you) hate ordinary Brits.

That’s why the Chauvin trial, Trayvon, the Gentle Giant and George Floyd all get publicised on the BBC.

US elites hate ordinary Americans and ordinary Brits don’t enter their thoughts.

Oh so it was an infraction that Michael Brown committed in the store? Was it like a hockey minor like hooking, or a 5-yard false start penalty?

When I reminded her that “kids in cages”, “immivasion”, “anti-election integrity”, looting the economy and “hate whitey” is what her party stands for, she went nuts and now refuses to speak with me.

You did the equivalent of denying the divinity of Christ to a believer in, say, around 1850. In those days there were fewer information/entertainment sources, but they all, without exception, followed Christianity, as did the schools and (importantly) everyone with power – employers, landlords, the courts, the armed forces. The Narrative in those days was Christianity.

Your mother is surrounded (on many more sides with TV/radio/Hollywood/media) by a very different version of The Narrative, and we all have a need for religion in our lives, just as we all have a need for something to hate – which The Narrative is happy to provide in the form of White Supremacy*.

As the Great Khan put it in 1200-odd, way before Abram Maslow’s theories of the good life, a man needs “a horse to ride, a woman to love, and an enemy to hate” for fulfillment. Women’s needs are different – save in the need for an enemy.

Love her nonetheless. While Art Deco may be happy for white families to be atomised, we should not be. Good luck to you – and your mother.

    * in practice any white person who’s not into White Submission.

  64. I am not desensitized to attacks on Western civilization and culture. And I rage. I channel my rage through the Imprecatory Psalms which are those that invoke judgment, calamity or curses upon one’s enemies or those perceived as the enemies of God. Major imprecatory Psalms include Psalm 69 and Psalm 109, while Psalms 5, 6, 11, 12, 35, 37, 40, 52, 54, 56, 57, 58, 59, 79, 83, 94, 137, 139 and 143 are also considered imprecatory. As a sample, Psalm 69:24 states toward God, “Pour out Your indignation on them, and let Your burning anger overtake them.”

  65. “Carrying without a permit” is a non-crime crime.

(Yes, we know that a judge can ban a convicted felon from possession of a weapon, but that’s a different matter.)

  66. accused of an infraction in a convenience store

well we’ve all been there, y’know.
Uncommon knowledge, but 7er Panzers were only casting around Eurasia for a pack of Newports. Guess what, the checkout girl was OFFENSIVELY ignorant. And Asiatic, same as for St Mike of Headbutt.

  67. Sounds like this guy is genuinely crossing over the edge of sanity.

Yeah, Real Clear Politics would always provide a link to his frothing at the mouth anti-Trump diatribes seemingly every week after he was elected, he could always be counted on to produce one.

  70. Wilkey says:

There are about 50 countries on this planet with black majorities. Unless and until I start to see significant numbers of supposedly oppressed black people packing up and moving to some of them, their supposed rage will always be bullshit.

  71. @Art Deco

Yeah, but it’s painful to watch. I’m a pretty confident scholar of Marxism, Fascism, International Relations, Constitutional History and Political Economy. I couldn’t afford a cushy PhD program so I decided to work for a living.

The philosophy of science righted the Wokeism that was alive and well in 2002 when I was forced to read foucault. Jacques Derrida was particularly offensive as was Herbert marcuse. Don’t even get me started on Richard lewontin with his actual racism.

The axiom that you should not hold people accountable for being ignorant and stupid with TDS should apply to your parents.

  72. @Bragadocious

Britain is in no position to manipulate America, and is facing an incipient race war at home. They can’t offer that the US “join the Commonwealth” because the Commonwealth itself is at this point a shambles.

Great Britain’s only purpose in our brave new world is to be an offshore tax haven where billionaires can avoid punitive EU taxation (soon to be joined by US billionaires no doubt), and to be a relatively safe place for Russians, Arabs, Indians, etc. to hide their assets. You are probably right that the UK now has a vested interest in stirring up chaos, because some chaos is always good for hedge fund managers, but that’s about it.

  73. @petit bourgeois

Have you ever considered that you might be the one who is mentally ill? Any one accusing the Democrats of “anti-election integrity” is certainly refusing to accept reality.

  74. Daunte Wright’s mother is white. That makes Daunte Wright both black and white, not just black.

Shouldn’t we be characterizing these demonstrations as arising from Daunte Wright’s “white privilege”?

Shouldn’t the white mother refuse her civil suit settlement as illicit proceeds to whites based on the mistreatment of blacks?

It’s time to stop white women from profiting off the mistreatment of black bodies!
