When I was younger, “It was a quiet week” summed up most weeks in Minnesota. How did the most Scandinavian state in the union become one of iSteve most reliable content generators?

From the New York Times opinion section, a professor in Minnesota offers a well-informed but ultimately futile attempt to explain why liberal Minnesota’s blacks do bad things more than the average state’s black. (Spoiler alert: It’s white people’s fault.)

Minnesota Is One of the Best Places to Live in America. Unless You’re Black.

The state’s reputation belies some of the country’s largest racial disparities.

By Samuel L. Myers, Jr.
Dr. Myers is a professor of public affairs at the University of Minnesota who has written extensively about public policy and race in the state.

He appears to be part black.

April 16, 2021

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota is one of the best places to live in America. It has good schools, excellent housing and low unemployment. It regularly appears near the top of indexes for livability. But all of that matters much less if you’re Black.

Across a whole host of measures — unemployment rates, wages, incarceration rates, test scores, homeownership rates — the gaps between white Minnesotans and Black Minnesotans are among the widest in the country. Take automobile ownership, for example. Nationally, 9 percent of households have no vehicle. The rate is 7 percent in Minnesota. Among African-American households nationally, 19 percent have no vehicle. Among African-American households in Minnesota, the rate is an astonishingly high 24 percent.

I presume just about all blacks live in the Twin Cities, which has decent public transportation, as Myers notes below.

So while Minnesota is a great place to live for white people, for Black people, it’s just like everywhere else — and sometimes worse. This is what I’ve termed the Minnesota Paradox: massive racial disparities masked by aggregate outcomes, and it’s an issue that I’ve been studying since moving to Minnesota in the 1990s.

The Minnesota Paradox is similar to the next-door Wisconsin Paradox.

The continued existence of this paradox is driven by buried racism.

Well, of course … As Prof. Dr. Ibram X. Kendi has explained to us, what else could it be?

Unlike places where racism was (and is) open and transparent, racism in Minnesota is obscured by progressive policy. Our history and legacy of egalitarianism make it harder for us to see racial disparities as manifestations of racism.

Many policymakers and most community members in Minnesota see racism as individual bigotry and racial animosity. The good public servants who administer the child welfare programs and disproportionately place Black and Native American children into foster care, for instance, are doing them a favor by providing them with publicly financed child protective services. The hardworking law enforcement officers who routinely stop suspicious drivers with expired tags and an air freshener dangling from the rearview mirror are merely trying to reduce crime and catch criminals. For many Americans, this does not amount to racism because the individual decisions are not motivated by racial animus.

What makes Minnesota different from many other places in the country, though, are its explicit policies intended to create equity and equality. The state boasts a unique form of property tax equalization designed to equalize funding for local public schools. A regional tax-base sharing system within the seven-county Twin Cities metro area is designed to broadly distribute the benefits of commercial and industrial economic growth.

The city of Brooklyn Center — the site of the recent killing of Daunte Wright and subsequent protests about racial profiling and police use of excessive force — joins the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and a constellation of 182 communities connected by a robust transportation network. Public sector infrastructure investments have produced connected islands of shopping malls, business centers and industrial plants, with residences ranging from multimillion-dollar mansions to small bungalows and townhouses. In this sense, Minnesota is one of the most progressive states in the United States.

But the structure of many of Minnesota’s policies and institutions — like police policies, housing policies, even regulations about drivers licenses and renewal of tags — have a disproportionately adverse impact on nonwhites. These effects are not overcome by Minnesota’s progressivism.

Minnesota has long been a magnet for African-American residents seeking a better life. When it was illegal in most states in the country to marry a white woman, Minnesota beckoned. When job opportunities for Black chemists and engineers from Howard University and Hampton Institute were limited, Minnesota corporations like 3M and Honeywell were unabashed recruiters of African-American talent.

Unfortunately, the small number of Black people who lived in Minnesota in the early 20th century and through the postwar era faced brutal redlining practices from real estate brokers and lenders and racial covenants limiting where they could purchase homes. The legacy of redlining has left a lasting impact of racial disparities in wealth.

But you just said there were few black people in Minnesota during the redlining era, which ended 53 years ago.

Policing policies — like the CODEFOR policy in Minneapolis — substituted overt, explicit racial profiling found in other cities with scientifically managed administration of racially disparate arrests.

In the 1990s, Minnesota’s child welfare and public housing policies simultaneously served as magnets for the dispossessed of other Midwestern cities like Detroit, Chicago and Gary, Ind.,

As I pointed out in my 2016 column “What’s the Matter with Wisconsin,” Minnesota’s neighbor state of idealistic Wisconsin attracted lazy blacks from Chicago and Mississippi by keeping welfare payments high from 1970-1985, after the more cynical Illinois had learned its lesson.

while reinforcing white welfare and housing authorities’ negative views toward the new migrants.

Maybe the negative views toward the new migrants of Minnesota Nice social workers were well-earned?

The result was rules governing benefits — reduction in benefits when out of compliance with work rules, child support rules (even when fathers were incarcerated and thus unable to pay child support) — that disproportionately affected Black people.

It’s almost as if making a baby with a felon has some downsides.

The public employees who enforced these policies were not racist, or at least they do not view themselves as racist. After all, this is Minnesota: the liberal and progressive state that opens its doors to the poor and downtrodden. Instead, they were creating and perpetuating racial discrimination which baked disparities into the structure of life in Minnesota. Some of these structurally racist rules have been revised or abandoned — a good and necessary step — but their effects linger on.

Systemic racism is an awful lot like bad juju in that, as anthropologist Henry Harpending pointed out, it can be transmitted across time and space without any known mechanism.

If Minnesotans want to end the paradox, they must continue to acknowledge and change polices, past and present, that have led to such wide racial disparities and that belie our self-image as a progressive and egalitarian state.

How exactly do you change the past?

Blacks in states with lots of blacks behave badly because there are lots of blacks being treated badly. And hence, behaving badly. Blacks must therefore be moved into states where there aren’t so many blacks, so that they can then achieve critical mass and then be treated badly because there didn’t used to be so many blacks, but there are now. I hope that’s clear, everyone.

The sharp-eyed among you may notice that a similar argument pertains to why we must move as many third-world POCs into (formerly) white countries, where they can be treated badly. They are attracted! Like moths to a flame!

The solution, of course? White Genocide. Though we must never call it that.

    Of course.

And warring against the past is central to all Revolution. The Revolutionary wishes to remake Now by warring against the past. It is like making yourself God and therefore able to Create. You just wipe away all history you do not like, and start heading right for the Paradise that you know your ideas will produce. You are destroying sin and its evil fruits while getting mankind back into the Garden of Eden.

That is the reason that, for example, Martin Luther relished cutting books from the Bible and did not care a jot how many peasants had to be slaughtered for roughly half the Germanies to be made Lutheran and, temporarily, freed from the extremes of Anabaptism (which then included communism and Free Love). That is the reason that Anglo-Saxon Puritans outlawed Christmas and destroyed stained glass and waged war on education that featured knowing history by reigns of kings. That is the reason that French Revolutionists remade the calendar with new names for months and started Year 1 from The Revolution.

Media’s Racial Narrative Targets Whites, Harms Blacks
An insistence on ‘systemic’ racism tells minority communities they have no power over their own lives.
    By Robert L. Woodson Sr. — April 16, 2021

Are only white people capable of hate crimes? If you get all your news from mainstream media sources, that’s what you’d think. A 51-year-old black man allegedly stabbing a 12-year-old white boy in Pittsburgh while shouting racial epithets barely made news. The same was true when a black man was arrested for savagely beating a 65-year-old Asian woman in Midtown Manhattan. We saw endless coverage of the despicable assault on the Capitol on Jan. 6, but when a 25-year-old black male allegedly killed a Capitol police officer last week, MSNBC reported the suspect was white.

Throughout 2020 there was a rise in violence against Asian-Americans, but the race of the perpetrators was typically mentioned only when they were white. Media and other elites obsessively push the narrative that the greatest threat in this country is coming from “white supremacists.” This gross oversimplification has dire consequences for the most vulnerable in our society—those living in the poorest neighborhoods—and for the nation as a whole.

A media environment in which the only acceptable villains are white creates a more dangerous world for all of us.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/medias-racial-narrative-targets-whites-harms-blacks-11618597161

You know, Twitter and Facebook have deplatformed people for much less than this.
But they weren’t the WSJ. Should be interesting. And of course there’s another little twist for those familiar with the author.

Every tragic police killing of a black person is amplified by radical progressives to accuse police of white supremacy and to push for defunding and anarchy. The more law-enforcement officers we lose to defunding, early retirements and drastic drops in recruitment, the fewer we have to patrol lower-income neighborhoods. Homicides among lower-income minorities soar. Meanwhile, the cries of the 81% of blacks who oppose defunding the police are chronically ignored.

The loudest advocates of defunding the police don’t have to live with the consequence of their advocacy. The Los Angeles City Council president pushed for defunding the police while having a personal police escort at her home. Thanks to so-called racial progressives like her, low-income black neighborhoods are experiencing some of what it was like to live in the pre-Civil Rights South.

The assertion that blacks must rely on white people to solve all their problems by somehow ending systemic and institutional racism is both nonsensical and self-defeating. By focusing on the past and present sins of white America as the source of all our problems, we ignore the enemy within, and that which is in our power to change. We turn a blind eye to the destruction within our communities that is consuming more of our lives than the Klan ever did, even at the height of its power.

Furthermore, remedies applied to a single racial group almost always include a kind of bait and switch. The social pathologies are the bait: high unemployment, poverty, inequities in education, high crime rates and so on. When the remedies arrive—generally money—you get the switch. A large share of the benefits never go to the people actually suffering from high unemployment or poverty or crime. They go to the elite members of that race who are already insulated and connected enough to capture the prizes.

Well, I think the problem with the black scribblers of opinion pieces like this is that they have embraced William Faulkner’s approach to the past: “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.”

  16. Change the past? Please, don’t give them any more ideas. The people who brought you “global warming” and vaccines that kill more people than covid would be only too happy to “invest” trillions of tax dollars in such a scheme, especially if they can get a celebrity like Greta or Bill Gates to back it, and can come up with a catchy slogan like “The Green New Deal”.

  17. As of late there have been a steady increase of Onion-like parody stories that are, in fact, quite painstakingly real, some levity is sorely needed since it’s been lacking.

“Systemic racism is an awful lot like bad juju in that, as anthropologist Henry Harpending pointed out, it can be transmitted across time and space without any known mechanism.”

NFL WR JuJu Smith-Schuster just re-signed with PIT, albeit its only for one year. PIT was probably hoping to draft his cousin MoJo Smith-McAlister out of Clemson, but Mojo’s draft number doesn’t coincide with PIT’s so he probably won’t be available to them this year.

Speaking of WR’s, NE WR Julian Edelman announced his retirement and already the experts are declaring that he should be inducted one day into the HOF. His career numbers don’t justify that claim. His total receiving yrds, receptions, and TDs are nearly 40% less than “Bambi”, the great AFL/NFL SD WR HOF Star Lance Alworth. Alworth really was a great WR, and his career stats do appear to hold up fairly well. Lance Alworth was his generation’s version of Jerry Rice, the NFL’s all time greatest ever WR, period.

But certainly Lance Alworth is up there with Rice, while Edelman definitely is not.

  19. The madness of these people (the believers, not the grifters who are just trying to make a buck off them) is really quite striking, right out of the days of the Witchfinder General.

If you throw the whole Progressive kitchen sink at race, and you still come up with “racial disparities”, then the fault can’t be with the Progressive mechanism; there must be some yet more subtle cause, and the Progressive mechanism is not wrong (because failed) but wrong (because it hides the real cause).

It goes back to the Frankfurters: Marcuse’s idea of “repressive tolerance”, meaning that for example, if an auto company actually asked workers what they thought would make their jobs easier or better, and then implemented such policies, this was a dirty trick to fool workers into not noticing the REAL oppression, alienated labor or something. (This was why Grand German Theorizing” was superior to British Empiricism.) Since the stupid workers were satisfied with washing machines and vacations, the Left had to turn to the “marginalized” scum, like students and darkies; hence The New Left, aka “cultural Marxism”.

And all that goes back Marx, whose role was to stymie any improvement in actual worker conditions, since his “scientific” socialism “predicted” the revolution would only occur if the workers were ever more impoverished and ground down. Thus Marx opposed labor unions; indeed, he implicitly was on the same page as the robber barons, just like antifa works with CEOs today.

This guy, to Marcuse, to Marx, to Hegel; the Germans have a lot to answer for. Someone should ‘go back in time’ and cut Hegel’s throat.

A Minnesotan in the article’s comments weighs in:

At the 1948 presidential convention, then-Mayor of Minneapolis Hubert Humphrey led the successsful fight for a civil rights plank in the party platform. Southern state delegates walked out, led by segregationist Strom Thurmond, and began the reaction to the modern Civil Rights era.

In that year, the nonwhite share of population of Minnesota was about 0.5%.

It’s not clear that Minnesotans at the time understood the meaning of full-on civil rights the way we understand it now. What did it mean for a minority population less than 1%, compared to states where it was 30%. How that has shaped the racial attitudes of the successive two or three generations of Minnesotans is a story still in progress.

I’m sure he meant this in the most bleeding-heart way, but it’s amusing how easily this comment can be interpreted heretically without any changes. Not clear that whitebread Minnesotans understood the meaning of full-on civil rights the way Southerners (i.e., the states with the most blacks inhabited by the white people with the most experience around them) did… indeed.

The final line is the real kicker. As a college aged, born and raised Minneapolitan (well, suburbanite in my childhood), I can tell you how the events of the past year have shaped my racial attitudes. But I’ve been an ideological schismatic since my teens, and most of my (white) family and generational peers appear to have been pushed only more fervently leftist by the Summer (and now spring, evidently) of Love.

It’s not bad juju and has nothing to do with racism, as you know. It’s the nature of the world and modern society and there’s nothing that can close those gaps. Reparations won’t do it. Increased spending on programs won’t do it. Nothing short of appointing a Handicapper General degrade people of other races could do it.

    HARRISON BERGERON
    by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.

Some things about living still weren’t quite right, though. April for instance, still drove people crazy by not being springtime. And it was in that clammy month that the H-G men took George and Hazel Bergeron’s fourteen-year-old son, Harrison, away.

It was tragic, all right, but George and Hazel couldn’t think about it very hard. Hazel had a perfectly average intelligence, which meant she couldn’t think about anything except in short bursts. And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear. He was required by law to wear it at all times. It was tuned to a government transmitter. Every twenty seconds or so, the transmitter would send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantage of their brains.

    http://tnellen.com/cybereng/harrison.html

(i linked the short story, but i don’t really recommend people read it unless they’re feeling fairly sturdy today)

Also i should mention that, imo, the way out of the “paradox” is to accept the gaps will exist. However socialist or not you want to be meet people where they are as individuals and families, rather than worry about what tribe they’re from.

I think North Dakota is actually more Scandinavian than Minnesota. Scandinavian progressivism is kind of weird from an Anglo perspective. It’s compelled by force there and doesn’t have much to do with freedom. It’s more like “if you don’t share the spoils of your raids we shall burn down your longhouse with you and your family in it.” Modern niceness obscures this, but the underlying sentiment remains.

The ideal of liberty follows a sort of gradient in Nordic countries. In fact you could probably map it to redheadedness (which is highly correlated with British ancestry). It declines from the west coast of Norway as one proceeds to the border with slavland. So appeals to equality are not tied to libertarian ideals such as reason and merit, but rather to the need for stability and order.

How does this pertain to the blacks? Well, perhaps some of that attitude has rubbed off on them. Blacks are as sensitive to political culture as anyone, and perhaps even more so. I tend to suspect blacks may be politically more intelligent than whites, so when they get the gist of some political mechanism they exploit it with ease.

If the Scandinavian political norm is redistribution through threat of violent unrest, it makes perfect sense for blacks in a largely Scandinavian society to riot whenever they intuit that it will be to their advantage.

I forgot to add this but it’s worth mentioning that although Minnesota’s dysfunction is often attributed by outsiders to the Somalians, as far as I could discern the recent East African immigrants mostly kept to themselves the past year. It was the foundational Afro-Americans, who I presume originated from the South during the Great Black Migration, that did (are doing?) most of the rioting in the Twin Cities and Brooklyn Center. Could be wrong about this- just a hunch based on the appearance and mannerisms of the rioters I’ve seen, who are very distinct and easy to discern in those aspects from the Somalians. Norway has been erecting a wall here. However, it’s not to keep out Slavs, but “Syrian” “refugees”.

Our betters stubbornly refuse to acknowledge that placing a smaller group into a locale in which they are totally outgunned in terms of human capital by the majority can only have one possible outcome. They have stuck with affirmative action in education for half a century despite the glaring disparities in performance, stick with it in government hiring because it ensures a cadre of loyal voters, and are now trying to ram it through in hiring in the far more important private sector. The resulting dysfunction is a feature rather than a bug because it’s a perpetual justification for more redistribution of political and economic capital in the name of fairness.

The “far more important private sector” operates at the pleasure of the real owners of the country. In certain countries it’s rather obvious – I did some work in a Central American country where the technical officers were enthusiastic about our proposals for institutional reform but the uninvited delegates from the “12 families” had their own ideas. Guess who Uncle Sugar supported for funding?

    That doesn’t happen here?

Anybody know the breakdown in Minnesota of descendants of American slaves vs. foreign-origin blacks?

Last I looked– admittedly a while ago– Africans were about one-sixth of the black population in the Twin Cities (about 3/5 of the state now), far, far above the percentage in any other urban state. It’s possible that the African-born blood quantum may be higher in some of the smaller, more lily-white states.

In addition to Somalis, there are many Ethiopians, Eritreans, Oromo, and Liberians.

The Somalis started coming about thirty years ago, and the Hmong a decade before that. Some of the latter are already eligible to be sworn in as President, and their Somali neighbors will join them in that club before long. Presidents tend to be tall, so they’d have an advantage over their Indochinese competition.

I know a thing or two about Scandinavians. My grandmother was a Norwegian-American named Solveig, anglicized to Sylvia. She was a saintly woman herself.

Anyhow, I grew up around a lot of Norwegians, and there’s a particular story that explains their attitude to me:

Once, at our Norwegian ski club in the Cascades, there was a flood that inundated the woodpile. In typical Norwegian fashion, all the men got together and dug a canal to divert the water. It was hard work, but the Norwegian men were up to the task. They mastered nature together and saved the wood for the stove that heated the cabin. All was well.

But then, weird, inquisitive, antisocial kid that I was, I decided to investigate the local hydrology. I found that I could hear the water through the snow, and when I wasn’t sure I could use a ski pole to find the course of the stream. Within an hour or so, I traced the stream to it’s origin and found a dam had been constructed, diverting the stream to the woodpile.

I was quite proud of myself, and I pulled the little makeshift dam apart with my hands. I thought I’d return to the cabin and be warmly praised for my discovery. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Instead, I was promptly accused of having built the dam myself. Obviously, people were not happy about my discovery.

How dare this cheeky little brat show us up!

That was a bitter lesson for me.

Quakers are the same way in my experience.

“Dems R Da Real Racists” (DR3) often gets mocked on the dissident right. And mainstream conservatives do overrely on it. But it’s absolutely true. The Democrat hyperessentialization of race hurts blacks, whites and everyone. No one would call me a good parent if I refused to ever discipline my child; if I blamed every unpleasant experience my child had on something besides my or my child’s behavior. People would think I was a terrible parent setting my child up for permanent failure. And they would be right. But when the yehudim do this to blacks, we are supposed to clap.

Now, as race realists, we of course know that blacks in general have less agency than whites, as a function of IQ. But they clearly do have a lot of agency. Many of the problems in the black community can only be solved by blacks. The yehudim hate blacks just as much as they hate whites. The only difference is that the yehudim don’t pretend not to hate whites.

The Law of Jante is what truly shaped modern Scandinavian societies (Denmark to a lesser degree, Norway to a much higher degree).
It’s amazing and scary at the same time to watch how their societies follow it to a T without ever questioning any of its principles.

Scandinavian people truly believe that everyone is equal and given the same opportunities, everyone will do equally good in everything, with hilarious (not really) consequences, as for example, growing to be incredibly envious of each other, because when you grow up with everyone telling you that no one is more than no one and no one should have more than anyone else, and you make 1000NOK and your neighbor 100000, or when you are not good looking and the next person is, etc, etc, etc., of course, you start realizing that some have more or less than others and you become frustrated and of course that is the society/the system that is wrong, not you.

It got to the point, that in Norway, up till the end of the 70´s, you actually needed permission from the government to buy a car, because (back then Norway was still a quite poor country) the government didn’t want people to realize that there were some with a lot more money than others.

It also molded them in to control each other.
Cops don’t even have to worry, Scandinavians (again, worst in Norway, not so much in Denmark, Sweden lands in the middle) will snitch on each other for the smallest of infractions.
Don’t get me wrong, crime should be reported, but we are talking about silly stuff like you crossed the red sign 0.005sec after it came up, stuff like that.

Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Why were Blacks rioting in the late 1960s after they were given pretty much everything they asked for by Lib Demorats also Lib, progressive Republicans like Rockefeller and Mitt Romney’s dad George Romney then GOP governor of Michigan.

The (otto) Kerner Commission said the Black riots were all justified, the natural results of latent White Racism, even more Great Society programs had to be implemented, racist police or just all the police had to be disbanded, replaced by pro Black community organizers or the Black Panthers. If the Blacks weren’t given everything they wanted there would be much, much worse violent Black Revolutions and it would all be White Racists fault.

Instead, The Establishment views blacks as our Sacred Cows, above criticism, but beneath agency.

The USSR, China, Nazi Germany, Khmer Rouge in Cambodia all killed millions in the vain effort to change the past. But they knew this was futile.

What they were doing was trying to change the real history of the past, as they saw it. “No man, no problem” as Stalin is reputed to have said.

The Law of Jante is what truly shaped modern Scandinavian societies (Denmark to a lesser degree, Norway to a much higher degree).
It’s amazing and scary at the same time to watch how their societies follow it to a T without ever questioning any of its principles.

I checked out Wiki on The Law of Jante (admittedly, not the best source).and it says the concept was formalized in a 1930’s book, but it goes back further in the past.

Any idea of its origins and its rationale as a control mechanism? Was it a case of a very poor country with not enough resources, whom no longer having the Viking raiding to resort to in late medieval times, needed a way to keep the masses controlled, hence a sometimes extreme egalitarianism for a homogenous society?

A certain amount of that, though, seems a bit like what can be found in any small rural town, anywhere, amongst any people…ie don’t make too much of yourself unless you want trouble, petty squabbles/jealousies, people keeping close tabs on others, set ways, etc.

I saw Ingmar Bergman’s 1957 film The Wild Strawberries and there was a large crowd scene in Stockholm where people were celebrating, and just about everyone, young and old, was wearing identical sailer caps. Perhaps that’s an example of some of that famous Scandinavian conformity.

Lastly, got to say, the innocence displayed by the three young hitch hikers in the film, was rather touching…

“How exactly do you change the past?”….you can’t

Sure you can. They do it all the time: narrative shift >> retcon. Easy peasy*.

Remember, facts outside your immediate personal experience aren’t “real” until they’re incorporated into a narrative that is endorsed and widely promoted by mass media. Bringing up facts that are excluded from those narratives is behavior that is not only “low status”, but is viewed by many as “immoral.”

History is just “news” with additional layers of obfuscation/ mystification/ spin/ sampling bias — and outright lying, where “necessary.” And we all know how reliable the so-called “news” is…

Dr. Myer’s narrative frame — which, unlike his conclusions, is apparently endorsed by Mr. Sailer — is highly misleading. The instrumental purpose of his Sulzberger Blog screed is not to engage in a fruitless attempt to “change the past,” but to promote a particular (false) narrative of that past, and to keep that narrative in the forefront of the [NYT reading/ “intellectual”] public consciousness.

*One of Mr. Unz’ most valuable contributions has been his investigations into some of the 20th century’s more prominent narrative shifts — especially those around the time of the “Good War.”

Rusche says the perpetrators often target those children who are vulnerable; the typical age of a child forced into trafficking is between 11 and 14.

The interesting thing about the MN negroes is that it seems most of them are not descendants of slaves from the American South. Most of them are first or second gen West African, aren’t they?

A lot of them are first or second generation East African (mostly Cushite; some Nilotic), rather than Bantu/ Negroid.

One obvious physiologic difference (apart from physiognomy): How many Bantus have won an Olympic marathon? Conversely, how many Ethiopians/ Kenyans/ Somalis have won the 100 meters at the Olympics?
VO2 Max and fast twitch muscle fibers are clearly socio-cultural constructs…

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Somalis_in_Minneapolis%E2%80%93Saint_Paul

“Somalis are an ethnic group in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area that makes up the largest Somali diasporas in the United States. By 2018, approximately 43,000 people born in Somalia were living in Minnesota, and approximately 94,000 Minnesotans spoke Somali, May May or a related language at home.”

“Many of the newer arrivals moved to Minnesota through voluntary agencies (VOLAGS), who helped them settle in.”

In other words, Minnesota was targeted for Somali invasion by the so-called “refugee resettlement” scam because anti-Whites thought it was “too White.”

There’s actually some significant history there between West Africans/ Bantus and Somalis/ Cushites:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Somalia

“Bantus are ethnically, physically, and culturally distinct from Somalis, and they have remained marginalized ever since their arrival in Somalia.”

“Bantu adult and children slaves (referred to collectively as jareer by their Somali masters) were purchased in the slave market exclusively to do undesirable work on plantation grounds.”

nb4 “You just some cracka tryna impose your imperialist/ colonialist ‘social constructs’ on the Black man”… here’s some interesting back-and-forth among the various “Black” groups on related issues:

    https://www.somalispot.com/threads/procushite-movement-on-the-rise.55641/

    https://www.somalispot.com/threads/elite-nilotic-women.51278/

Nilotic vs. Cushitic debate — looks like Bantus are entirely out of the running. As a White man, I’ve got no dog in this fight, but that’s not an unreasonable judgment on aesthetic grounds.

This one has some fairly… heated debate between various Blacks who certainly don’t seem to be true believers in muh “social construct” theory:

    https://www.nairaland.com/2059272/delusions-somali-troll/2

“Its funny you are here speaking for Nilotics because you know Bantus were never in the Horn or in North Africa.”

“If you talk to Bantus they will tell you they are not mixed with Nubains and that Nubians wanted to annihilate them, thus the reason why they have a country called South Sudan, but your desperate attempts to link Negroids to Cushitic and Nubians knows no bounds of reason.”

“Why a Bantu who is a slave every where they go, is talking about Nilotics being related to Arab and Nubians who exterminated them in bizarre to me.”

“And you’re a Somali. They are known for their glass chins/jaws, rancid smell, buck teeth, skinny bodies and their ability to f*ck up their own country!”

    Etc.

It’s amazing driving along busy streets with bus stops when school lets out in multicultural California. Hispanic White and Asian kids seem the quietest. They just crowd together and leave a big section of the sidewalk free for pedestrians. They stand still. But the blacks are like a fireworks explosion. All over the sidewalk lurching into the street, blocking the sidewalk either on purpose or carelessness and inability to notice pedestrians. And screeching and howling and cursing. Of course it is. Democrats have had a 200-year+ intimate partnership with blacks (does anybody think Thomas Jefferson’s “election” to the presidency was any more legitimate than Joe Biden’s?) Thus the party knows them well. The voting habits of blacks themselves since 1934 tell us they endorse the party’s dark view of the dark.

Now, as race realists, we of course know that blacks in general have less agency than whites, as a function of IQ. But they clearly do have a lot of agency.

It certainly does, but so far the law of Jante (Janteloven) still applies. During this so called epidemic, the public support and compliance to every single government decree has been astounding to observe.

We do as we’re told, and we do it in an orderly manner. (but we still hoard yeast(!) and toilet paper – just in case…)

Alden, thank you for bringing up the Taiping Rebellion. Happening around the same time as the American War of Northern Aggression, this was no little thing. Something like 20,000,000 men died in war and they say 50,000,000 others died of starvation due to the war. The number of men killed directly in that war was 4.6% of the Chinese population of (already, at that time!) 430,000,000, while the American War resulted in 2.1% of America’s (at the time) 31,000,000 being killed. In China, this was over a 12 year period vs. 4 in America.

Peak Stupidity has a post about this called “A Great War never even heard of – the Taiping Rebellion”. The Taiping War was started by that one man, Hong Xiuquan, as you say. who did not think he was Jesus, but he thought he was Jesus’ kid brother. I kid you not.

At the biggest extent, Hong’s Taiping Rebel Army had territory that included Shanghai, all of current Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces, most of Anhui, a big chunk of Hubei (means North Lake) out to Wuhan, and a little bit of Guangdong in the SE.

Most American’s know of this war indirectly, based on their taste for all-you-can-eat General Tso’s Chicken from the Chinese buffet restaurants, as served by Chinese illegal aliens. See “Superpower Battle of the Chicken Titans – Sanders v Tso”.
