Now that you’ve reached the pinnacle of your profession as chief theater critic of the New York Times, you sound terrified, as a white man, that you will get the hook and be replaced with somebody more intersectional, and are trying to throw everybody else from the sleigh first:
I look forward to your articles in the New York Times condemning the theater for historically so disproportionately featuring gays and Jews. For example, did you notice that all four of the main creative figures behind West Side Story were gay Jews: Jerome Robbins, Arthur Laurent, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim? How discriminatory is that? In contrast, the recent film remake of West Side Story featured straights in two of the three main creative roles (director Steven Spielberg and choreographer Justin Peck) and only 2.5 were Jewish (Peck is half Jewish, Spielberg and Tony Kushner are full Jewish). Granted, Spielberg’s remake was kind of lousy compared to the original, but it was more diverse, and that’s what counts.
Oh, wait, I’m sorry, diversity doesn’t matter when it comes to gay Jews. At all.

The NBA has a very disproportionate number of Jewish owners and personalities due to the dual factors of it being a very ‘urban’ sport and that Jewish athletes and coaches were very prominent in professional basketball due to it’s early years correlating with the remains of Jewish working class communities that supplied athletes. It thus has a special appeal to many Jewish people who either remember or had parents or grandparents who remembered and inculcated a love of the sport to their children.

To this day, the Packers have two streams of tickets, a Green Bay one and a Milwaukee one. The latter games moved to Green Bay ca. thirty years ago when the Brewers demanded and got a new, baseball-only ballpark.

Keeping the NFL out of Milwaukee by scheduling their own games in that city was, in retrospect, a shrewd and successful policy. Buffalo appears to be doing the same with games in Toronto, with the added advantage of nationalistic Canadian allies who don’t want the NFL there either.
To this day, the Packers have two streams of tickets, a Green Bay one and a Milwaukee one. The latter games moved to Green Bay ca. thirty years ago when the Brewers demanded and got a new, baseball-only ballpark.

What I know about sports could fit in a thimble, but I recall a Fun Fact that originally basketball was played using wooden fruit baskets (hence, basketball) rather than nets, and so after each “basket” someone would have to climb up and retrieve the ball. At some point someone figured out that nets with a hole at the bottom were a better idea. But it gives you an idea of how often a “basket” was supposed to occur.

What would anyone expect? Diversity destroys social cohesion.
As I’ve noted, you can only have one set of public norms–which are supposed to be the nation’s norms. But even more on point, why would anyone risk themselves to wade into a dispute between a bunch of completely random, balkanized people who just happened to be dumped in your city. There are no national norms here, because there is no nation here. Just a random collection of people, you don’t know, share no bonds with and do not love.
No one actually loves the multicultural empire that happens to control them. Sure, you can raise a legion … if say you promise them land in some conquered territory. But that’s it–a business deal.

My vote is to wade into that fight and beat hell out of the Africans who started it.
Granted there is no good reason to defend the homosexuals (who undoubtedly supported the African immigration in the first place).
But if you are riding that subway it is your neighborhood. Your kids ride that subway. When there is crime in your street it is cowardice to close your door and hide inside.
