One of the more hilariously flagrant exercises in Newspeak manipulativeness by the press is calling illegal alien minors (and, now, ex-minors) “dreamers.” This comes from Durbin and Hatch’s backronym Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. From Wikipedia:

The DREAM Act (acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act) is an American legislative proposal for a multi-phase process for qualifying alien minors in the United States that would first grant conditional residency and, upon meeting further qualifications, permanent residency.

The bill was first introduced in the Senate on August 1, 2001, S. 1291 by United States Senators Dick Durbin (D- Illinois) and Orrin Hatch (R- Utah), and has since been reintroduced several times but has failed to pass.

According to Anne, the term "nightmares" is attributed to Boston radio talk show host Howie Carr. No matter, point taken. This has indeed been a nightmare and a legacy of decades--Decades, mind you!--of neglect of our borders combined with outright greed for cheap labor and the lust for power on the part of both parties. A pity about these kids but, enough already! Deport 'em! If they want to come back to America, then let 'em do it legally.

The Democrats haven't caved. They are playing a weak hand to maximum, ridiculously good, advantage. Trump and the Republicans were only able to get the government funded for three weeks. They have given legitimacy to inclusion of DACA in the next round of appropriations discussions. And Trump has been shown to have a little stomach for a government shutdown--McConnell had to intercede to persuade Trump against going back to the Democrats and in favor of letting them come to him. (And even then, the Republicans folded too soon. They should have let the Democrats twist in the wind.)

Not good. It doesn't augur well for serious immigration reform. And you can see the evidence for this loss of leverage in the fact that the administration and immigration restrictionists are already negotiating against themselves.

In our lifetimes we will see dramatic life extension, and the people benefitting will not be gen X losers, who will cause a brief media hand-wringing by dropping dead at middle age in apparent health. The hand-wringing will be "somebody got ta pay for all these kids," outrage that those lazy kids are dying when they have taxes to pay. The extended are going to be the very people who need to leave this Earth sooner: wealthy, entitled, connected boomers.

Don't wanna flog a nearly dead horse, but the advanced age of so many Democrat politicians is beyond crazy. Turban 75, Pelosi 77, Feinstein 84, Mikulski 80, Cardin 73. These are all pre-Boomers and no they clearly haven't kept up with events.

He doesn't look 73. Nor does Orrin Hatch look 114, or whatever he is. Of course Pelosi looks like an old hag.

Do these old men wear makeup, when they do TV interviews in the corridor of the Capitol, or in public appearances? How much taxpayer money is spent on makeup technicians for politicians? Is there a difference in use of makeup between Democrats and Republicans, even controlling for age?

I suppose this line of inquiry is sexist (I am trying to figure out how).

  5. On ‘aliens and minors’ – horrifying legal case in Sweden, also here, about a middle-aged divorced Swedish mother, working at a migrant home, who took one of the young male Afghan migrants home as her boyfriend … and then let the Afghan molest her age 12 daughter

Woman refused to report the sexual assualt or get rid of her Afghan squeeze … daughter at school refused to go home until her divorced father was contacted, who called the police. Swedish authorities refused to deport or imprison the Afghan but told him to do ‘100 hours of community service’ & pay a few shekels … mother is still pimping for the Afghan, despite his sexual violation of her own pre-teen child

And by the way, the rapist-indulging mother has registered herself as a ‘Me, Too! anti-sexual-harassment feminist’. Mid-life European women using the young male migrants as sexual boy-toys is an apparently widespread rampant problem, tho this is one of the most sickening cases of it.

The European ‘statues of liberty’, it is said, are live European females, eagerly seeking to expand the local pool of young males who are more manly and aggressive than the typical cucky shite-lib Euro-blokes, hence the masses of women holding ‘refugees welcome’ banners with dreamy looks on their faces, whilst the males around them rather prove the point by going meekly along with the mass migration programme

The mother’s boyfriend & step father molesting the daughters is a problem over all races ethnic groups religions classes and nations. Natural fathers do a lot of it as well.

It’s probably the most common form of child molestation by adults. Single moms should be aware that the guy is not attracted to the Mom but to the kids.

The Swedish mother should be charged with some form of negligence and child abuse. I’m sure if the parents were still married and it happened both would be charged with some firm of child abuse by the Swedish nanny state.

Something similar happened to one of my English relatives. She lives in London. Property taxes rose and rose. She decided to rent out a bedroom to students at a nearby language school.

One was a Saudi boy of 16. A few days after he moved in she woke up with him in top of her She fought him off and called the police.

Luckily the language school quickly got him out so she didn’t have to go through an eviction process.

But the kid honestly didn’t think he did anything wrong. A woman in the house is just like the washing machine or stove, something to be used when the man has urges.

The German thing of asking people to take immigrant men into their homes is just a recipe for rape.

That picture is so bothersome to so many people that it has taken on a life of its own. It is a HORROR SHOW picture of young ladies celebrating the demographic destruction of their nation and their people. The evil, thoughtless grins on their faces brings to mind the witches of European folkway memories who grin the future malice of their deeds.

This is why so many of us see the upcoming global financial implosion not as a death of something that should be protected, but as the chance for rejuvenation of something timeless and full of life.

The current age of GLOBALIZATION and MASS IMMIGRATION is pure evil

The cultural rot and mindless boosterism of demographic destruction in that picture is bothersome to no end.

While there may be a few cat lady social workers in Europe using the migrant surge as an excuse to acquire boy toys, statistically speaking, white women (at least in the U.S.) are the most racially loyal demographic in the dating market, preferring to date and marry white men almost exclusively. It is far, far more common for white men to date and marry East Asian, Hispanic, and other non-black third world women than it is for white women to pair up with third world men. In fact, there are entire manosphere websites devoted to attacking Western women and telling white men to find a nice, subservient third world wife abroad.

White nationalist men have this weird sexual fear/fetish of black and muslim men taking their women. Meanwhile, the white race slips further and further into miscegenation due to high IQ/high status white men like John Derbyshire having a serious case of yellow fever. Oh irony of ironies.

If anything, it's East Asian men who should be really pissed off.

Here is a a chart of online dating preferences by race. tl;dr: everyone has yellow fever and black women/east Asian men are beyond screwed.

Will the democrats agree to fund the wall and end the diversity visa in return for amnesty for 800,000 ? It seems the democrats and their GOP allies in the Senate will never eliminate the Diversity Visa Lottery , but they would fund the wall. ending the diversity Lottery would offer more benefits than the wall, as this is how most of the Muslims and Africans obtain green cards. Over the last decade 250,000 Africans obtained green cards via the diversity lottery , then they sponsored another 750,000 relatives…a complete end to the diversity lottery would offer more benefits than building another 900 miles of fencing along our Mexican border, and would not cost us a dime.

Kenney and Brown have careers that should be derailed. Kenney's entire known employment history consists of public offices and advocacy positions. Brown was supposedly a lawyer at some point but has held elective office since the age of 22 and f/t elective office since the age of 28. Neither have ever married or had children. Brown is 39 and Kenney is 49.

  12. DACAns vs. DREAMers

These terms are used interchangeably, but the numbers are very different. DACA is a specific Obama era program, that currently has about 800,000 persons enrolled. The total number of people who might fall under the DREAMer designation is about 3,600,000.

I concur with Ann Coulter; they’re all NIGHTMAREs, particularly when chain migration is involved (see this story Somali family reaches milestone — welcomes 150th member to Canada).

Sine the 1981 Supreme Court decision that requires us to provide free public schooling to illegal NIGHTMAREs can’t be abrogated, we’ve spent $10,000/year * 12 * 3,600,000 = $432 billion in state money just for public education. And this is not Federal pretend money, this is half a trillion dollars in real cash that we could have used to fix infrastructure etc.

Part of winning is coming up with clear rhetoric that gets people thinking your way.

The treason party scored a rhetorical coup with this "Dreamers" nonsense. People here are brainstorming a clarifying term that debunks that and helps the restrictionist side win. I'm generally not on board with cutesy either--"illegal alien juveniles" or "juvenile illegals"--sound find to me. But sometimes you can help move the ball with some sort of cutesy, especially when it mocks PC pomosity like "dreamers".

A reasonable amount of immigrant women are young East and SE Asian. Some are pretty, some are pretty enough for old perverts. Many are forward enough to make the first move, which is the big attraction to shy nerds.

I don't see any of this causing white feminist harpies to issue the demands you indicate. Apathy and laze is a defining feature of our time. Luxury creates decadence and I don't think there has been an era before in history as decadent as this one. Maybe the opium era in China was comparable in that a potent narcotic simulated the states of our lives, but that was one that targeted the pleasure centers of the brain directly.

While many of us struggle to afford to have a family of much size, we have so much to entertain us. Internet porn, mobile phones, movie streaming services, the world's best music with our musical history at exceptional quality nearly free or free, computer and console games, VR, sex robots, restaurants that compete to increase the pleasure of food, in fact every product and service that ruthlessly competes to provide an easier life.

These feminist harpies can't do much more than write a hashtag and apply a facebook profile filter.

And what do I do, other than write internet comments on iSteve? I suppose I plant the occasional good idea here. The zeitgeist is definitely changing.

I think it’s clear where Trump’s sympathies lie on the migration issue. All signs point to hawk. I wouldn’t put too much stock into these kinds of statements. If you’ve been paying attention at all you should’ve noticed Trump often says things that sound like a total about-face but which are actually just political feints. Often he follows with a haymaker. This is an opening bid which will put the Democrats in the position of opposing a generous amnesty because they can’t stomach any enforcement whatsoever. The mask will slip and people will notice.

I think he will work hard to get us a Great Deal! and it will be far better than anyone would have even fantasized prior to summer 2015. Even if he does end up having to concede a “path to citizenship” to X number of people, he will likely keep a few aces up his sleeve. Like making the “path” as rocky as possible. There will no doubt be ineligibility for “criminal records” which the Trump admin will no doubt interpret in the strictest possible way. Sorry there, Pedro. DUI? Adios.

  25. Completely agree. They are alien minors.

The compassionate thing to do would be to allow those brought here as minors to remain as residents, not citizens, with no right to sponsor any additional immigrants. Period. End of story.

As always, the simple answer has no chance in a Congress full of cowardly sleaze bags on the take. There always has to be some additional deal pasted on.

The news just presented to us proles is that 80% of Americans surveyed want LESS IMMIGRATION OF ALL KINDS. So, why won’t our “government of the people” just cut all immigration? The answer is, because it is not a government of the people. It does not represent us.

Geez give the fan boy thing a rest Jack. I'm guessing Opinionator's testosterone levels are fine. His argument certainly is.

It's not those of us worried about Trump selling us out who are girlish, it's Trump's fickle inconstancy.

Immigration and this whole DACA thing is a huge winning issue for Trump. The Democrats' own ideology has them hyperventilating about the fate of illegals, which goes over with Americans like a lead balloon. They had to bail on their shutdown because their own advisors told them it would be a public relations disaster.

All Trump has to do is keep repeating his position--he's willing to do a deal on the status of illegals brought here as kids, but *only* if we fix the border and immigration so that this never happens again. This sounds very sane and logical to ordinary Americans, and the Democrats whining and caviling exposes the plain fact that they do not actually want a secure border. The Democrats want illegal immigration and amnesty after amnesty after amnesty.

This is the moment where Trump can ask for his entire immigration platform and if nothing else make huge progress on outlining the issue and building and turning political support his way. All Trump needs is some manly constancy and fortitude.

    Instead Trump acts like either
    a) he's scared--or more pointedly, too thin skinned--to be labelled a big meany
    b) he just emotionally needs to be on the right side of these poor DACA babies
    or
    c) he really--into this issue for months--still has no idea what this DACA thing is all about, which is pathetic.

Near as I can tell, this dynamic exists among all races and tribes, at least as far as fathers and daughters go. It's not just a societal taboo: there's a very, very deep biological gut aversion among human beings for a reason. There's something that just... repulses one about it, you know? Incest is not a crime against convention, it is a crime against nature-nature doesn't like it for good reason, given how easily diseases and weaknesses can spread if you don't diversify the gene pool. What else could explain the monstrous retardation and deformities born out of it?

Stepdaughters, on the other hand? Child of another man... with all that implies. That's not to say that most stepfathers are anything but loving parents. It just means that sexual abuse doesn't have that fundamental biological barrier preventing it.

And as I've said before: the reason getting as close to traditional monogamy as possible, for the masses, is important is because it forces *both* genders to reach a compromise, give up or mitigate some of the habits that are less than useful in building a stable, successful society, and cultivate those in their natures that do. The whole basic point of civilization is to transcend our animal natures into something better. The Lev Landaus and Scott Alexanders of the world can do just fine under other systems. Most people can't. That doesn't mean we abandon our fundamentally sexual natures or turn into prudes: it means we harness these most powerful biological impulses, for a greater goal.

The Westermarck effect would seem to specifically exist to try to discourage this from happening. Every time I've heard of it, it has always involved stepfathers or at least a little bit more genetic distance and specifically a reductoin in physical contact: uncles, etc.

On 'aliens and minors' - horrifying legal case in Sweden, also here, about a middle-aged divorced Swedish mother, working at a migrant home, who took one of the young male Afghan migrants home as her boyfriend ... and then let the Afghan molest her age 12 daughter

Woman refused to report the sexual assualt or get rid of her Afghan squeeze ... daughter at school refused to go home until her divorced father was contacted, who called the police. Swedish authorities refused to deport or imprison the Afghan but told him to do '100 hours of community service' & pay a few shekels ... mother is still pimping for the Afghan, despite his sexual violation of her own pre-teen child

And by the way, the rapist-indulging mother has registered herself as a 'Me, Too! anti-sexual-harassment feminist'. Mid-life European women using the young male migrants as sexual boy-toys is an apparently widespread rampant problem, tho this is one of the most sickening cases of it.

The European 'statues of liberty', it is said, are live European females, eagerly seeking to expand the local pool of young males who are more manly and aggressive than the typical cucky shite-lib Euro-blokes, hence the masses of women holding 'refugees welcome' banners with dreamy looks on their faces, whilst the males around them rather prove the point by going meekly along with the mass migration programme

The mother’s boyfriend & step father molesting the daughters is a problem over all races ethnic groups religions classes and nations. Natural fathers do a lot of it as well.

Natural fathers do *not* do a lot of it as well. It's extraordinarily rare from natural fathers. (At least white natural fathers.) The stats--which i don't have in front of me--are very clear on this. Fathers do not molest their daughters--"fathers", step-fathers, mama's-boyfriends, etc. etc. molest "daughters".

The idea that they do is party of this b.s. leftist/feminist propaganda, to denigrate the reality of the clear superiority of the traditional family and make excuses for feminist wrecking and female misbehavior. "Many kinds of families" and all that b.s.

In truth, civilization survives based on precisely one kind of family and everything else is a best a kludge and often an absolute train wreck.

Near as I can tell, this dynamic exists among all races and tribes, at least as far as fathers and daughters go. It’s not just a societal taboo: there’s a very, very deep biological gut aversion among human beings for a reason. There’s something that just… repulses one about it, you know? Incest is not a crime against convention, it is a crime against nature-nature doesn’t like it for good reason, given how easily diseases and weaknesses can spread if you don’t diversify the gene pool. What else could explain the monstrous retardation and deformities born out of it?

Stepdaughters, on the other hand? Child of another man… with all that implies. That’s not to say that most stepfathers are anything but loving parents. It just means that sexual abuse doesn’t have that fundamental biological barrier preventing it.

And as I’ve said before: the reason getting as close to traditional monogamy as possible, for the masses, is important is because it forces *both* genders to reach a compromise, give up or mitigate some of the habits that are less than useful in building a stable, successful society, and cultivate those in their natures that do. The whole basic point of civilization is to transcend our animal natures into something better. The Lev Landaus and Scott Alexanders of the world can do just fine under other systems. Most people can’t. That doesn’t mean we abandon our fundamentally sexual natures or turn into prudes: it means we harness these most powerful biological impulses, for a greater goal.

Part of winning is coming up with clear rhetoric that gets people thinking your way.

The treason party scored a rhetorical coup with this “Dreamers” nonsense. People here are brainstorming a clarifying term that debunks that and helps the restrictionist side win. I’m generally not on board with cutesy either–“illegal alien juveniles” or “juvenile illegals”–sound find to me. But sometimes you can help move the ball with some sort of cutesy, especially when it mocks PC pomosity like “dreamers”.

A reasonable amount of immigrant women are young East and SE Asian. Some are pretty, some are pretty enough for old perverts. Many are forward enough to make the first move, which is the big attraction to shy nerds.

I don’t see any of this causing white feminist harpies to issue the demands you indicate. Apathy and laze is a defining feature of our time. Luxury creates decadence and I don’t think there has been an era before in history as decadent as this one. Maybe the opium era in China was comparable in that a potent narcotic simulated the states of our lives, but that was one that targeted the pleasure centers of the brain directly.

While many of us struggle to afford to have a family of much size, we have so much to entertain us. Internet porn, mobile phones, movie streaming services, the world’s best music with our musical history at exceptional quality nearly free or free, computer and console games, VR, sex robots, restaurants that compete to increase the pleasure of food, in fact every product and service that ruthlessly competes to provide an easier life.

These feminist harpies can’t do much more than write a hashtag and apply a facebook profile filter.

And what do I do, other than write internet comments on iSteve? I suppose I plant the occasional good idea here. The zeitgeist is definitely changing.

DUI? Adios.

    We hope this is right.

However--and this is the part that Trump and Jack Hanson don't seem to get--it's not just "getting a deal", it's educating the public with a clear and compelling position so that you build support to

    a) get a great deal if one is available
    b) have an enlarged and motivated coalition to contest future elections
    c) win future elections because of what you did
    b) are able to push through even better legislation in the future.

Trump's half assed ... "hey i love these DACA kids" ... "couldn't work out a deal" ... "oh i love these DACA kids and will give them not just amnesty but citizenship" ... is not accomplishing *anything* positive politically.

He just looks like a fickle drama queen to the independents. And it's just disheartening to his base to repeatedly get the word that another amnesty is on the way.

This is not building Trump's or the nationalist electoral base at all. This crap may work negotiating a casino or golf course development, but it's completely missing the essential element of politics--the polis, the people.

Geez give the fan boy thing a rest Jack. I’m guessing Opinionator’s testosterone levels are fine. His argument certainly is.

It’s not those of us worried about Trump selling us out who are girlish, it’s Trump’s fickle inconstancy.

Immigration and this whole DACA thing is a huge winning issue for Trump. The Democrats’ own ideology has them hyperventilating about the fate of illegals, which goes over with Americans like a lead balloon. They had to bail on their shutdown because their own advisors told them it would be a public relations disaster.

All Trump has to do is keep repeating his position–he’s willing to do a deal on the status of illegals brought here as kids, but *only* if we fix the border and immigration so that this never happens again.

    Instead Trump acts like either
    a) he’s scared–or more pointedly, too thin skinned–to be labelled a big meany
    b) he just emotionally needs to be on the right side of these poor DACA babies
    or
    c) he really–into this issue for months–still has no idea what this DACA thing is all about, which is pathetic.

DUI? Adios.

    We hope this is right.

However–and this is the part that Trump and Jack Hanson don’t seem to get–it’s not just “getting a deal”, it’s educating the public with a clear and compelling position so that you build support to

    a) get a great deal if one is available
    b) have an enlarged and motivated coalition to contest future elections
    c) win future elections because of what you did
    b) are able to push through even better legislation in the future.

Trump’s half assed … “hey i love these DACA kids” … “couldn’t work out a deal” … “oh i love these DACA kids and will give them not just amnesty but citizenship” … is not accomplishing *anything* positive politically.

He just looks like a fickle drama queen to the independents. And it’s just disheartening to his base to repeatedly get the word that another amnesty is on the way.

This is not building Trump’s or the nationalist electoral base at all. This crap may work negotiating a casino or golf course development, but it’s completely missing the essential element of politics–the polis, the people.

If he comes off like an uncompromising hardass, that will give the Democrats cover to call Trump a monster and fight the bill. With a few nominal expressions of sympathy and some (heavily qualified) offers of compromise, Trump still looks tough on immigration but also moderate and reasonable. The Democrats will still call him a monster of course, but they will look unreasonable doing so, and a lot of voters will ask start wondering why, oh, why the Democrats are so dead set against limiting chain migration, implementing e-verify, etc. If the bill is way too soft, it will have trouble clearing the House as there are a number of Republicans who are strong on this issue and will withdraw support, particularly if their offices get flooded with lots of angry phone calls and emails about amnesty.

That's right, Trump followed the Sailer Strategy to win the Presidency.

As Ann Coulter wrote 3-30-16: IT'S ONLY TRUMP

The only question for Republicans is: Which candidate can win states that Mitt Romney lost?

Start with the fact that, before any vote is cast on Election Day, the Democrats have already won between 90 and 98 percent of the black vote and 60 to 75 percent of the Hispanic and Asian vote. Unless Republicans run the table on the white vote, they lose.

If there's still hope, it lies with Trump and only Trump. Donald Trump will do better with black and Hispanic voters than any other Republican. But it's with white voters that he really opens up the electoral map.

A Republican Party that wasn't intent on committing suicide would know that. But Stuart Stevens, the guy who lost a winnable presidential election in 2012, says it's impossible for Republicans to get one more white vote -- and the media are trying to convince the GOP that he's right.

Stevens says Romney tapped out every last white voter and still lost, so he says Republicans are looking for "the Lost Tribes of the Amazon" hoping to win more white votes: "In 1980, Ronald Reagan won 56 percent of white voters and won a landslide victory of 44 states. In 2012, Mitt Romney won 59 percent of whites and lost with 24 states."

Apparently, no one's told Stevens about the 50-state Electoral College. The national white vote is irrelevant. Presidential elections are won by winning states. (Only someone who got his ass kicked running an eminently electable candidate might not know this.)

Excluding third parties and breaking it down to a two-man race, Mitt Romney won 88 percent of the white vote in Mississippi, but only 40 percent of the white vote in Massachusetts. What sense does it make to talk about his national percentage of the white vote with disparities like that?

Romney lost the white vote to Obama in five crucial swing states: Maine (42 percent of the white vote), Minnesota (47 percent), New Hampshire (48 percent), Iowa (48 percent) and Wisconsin (49 percent). He only narrowly beat Obama's white vote in other important swing states -- Illinois (51 percent), Colorado (52 percent), Michigan (53 percent), Ohio (54 percent) and Pennsylvania (54 percent).

Increasing the white vote in these states gives Trump any number of paths to victory.

If Trump wins only the same states as Romney, but adds Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois -- where Romney's white vote was below his national average -- Trump wins with 280 electoral votes. (Romney wasn't an ideal candidate in the industrial Midwest.)

Trump could lose any one of those states and make up for it by winning Minnesota and Wisconsin -- where Romney actually lost the white vote. Or he could lose two of those states but add victories in places outside the Rust Belt, where Romney's white vote was also below average, such as Colorado, Iowa, Maine and New Hampshire. (In 1992, Ross Perot came in second in Maine, beating George Bush.)

I haven't even mentioned Florida, where Trump recently trounced Stuart Stevens' dream candidate, Marco Rubio, a sitting senator -- and a Cuban! -- in a 20-point rout. Republican primary voters outnumbered Democratic primary voters in that election by more than half a million votes.

If Trump wins Florida, he needs to win only two or three of the 10 states where Romney either lost the white vote outright or won a smaller percentage of it than he did nationally.

Stevens' analysis assumes that there will be no new voters -- and, again, there isn't a mammal on the North American landmass who knows less about winning presidential elections than Stuart Stevens.

How many times do we hear of a “hardworking immigrant” here to pursue his “American Dream”?

Interesting, not many years ago a poll showed that most white people think the American Dream is dead. With the media only using it for immigrants, no wonder.

Hey, I voted for Hillary, but I am smart enough to realize that the fact most white people consider the American Dream to be dead explains the popularity of Sanders on the left and explains why Trump is president.
