Opinion MAGA Republicans are out of touch with the real America

PROVINCETOWN, Mass. — I’ve been feeling very blue this summer. Oh, I don’t mean I’m depressed — I’ve been having a ball. But I’ve been spending time in some of the most liberal enclaves in America: first Martha’s Vineyard (where former President Barack Obama has a house), then Provincetown, Mass., an LGBTQ mecca where pride flags are ubiquitous. I even took my step-kids to a drag show. (Don’t tell Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis!) …
Provincetown was the site of the Bear Week superspreader event that, more than anything else, launched the covid Delta variant onto America in the summer of 2021. What’s more American than gay orgies spreading diseases?
It is easy in such environs to imagine that you’re not in the “real America.” In fact, a friend who lives, as I do, in New York City — yet another Democratic bastion — made precisely that observation in a half-joking manner. “I’m happy not to be in America,” he told me, meaning, presumably, he was happy to be in a place where drag queens are considered normal and Trumpkins are not.
But you know what? Provincetown is the real America. So is Martha’s Vineyard. These communities are undoubtedly on the left and prone to excesses of political correctness that make for easy punch lines. But, in many ways, they might be more representative of 2022 America than the Rust Belt diners where reporters love to take the pulse of Trumplandia.
There is an implicit assumption, shared by many Republicans and Democrats, that “real” Americans are White, rural, conservative, Christian and poorly educated. (“I love the poorly educated,” Donald Trump said in 2016.) Ultra-MAGA Republicans assume that their policy preferences — anti-immigration, anti-gun control, anti-abortion, anti-“woke” — are the only legitimate views that can be held by “real” Americans, and that anyone who disagrees is a pointy-headed elitist or “globalist” who is out of touch with reality.
Yet it is White, Christian, rural, conservative voters who are now in the minority. Indeed, much of the reason that MAGA Republicans sound so hysterical so much of the time is that they know that the tides of economic and demographic change are leaving them behind. The White share of the population has declined from 80 percent in 1980 to just 60.1 percent in 2019. By the 2040s, America is projected to become “majority minority.”

There is a good reason so many MAGA Republicans are embracing “semi-fascism”: Their views are too unpopular to command majority support anymore. They certainly don’t speak for the “real” America — to the extent that such a thing even exists.

I am often amused that Jewish commentators don’t ever consider

the Middle East aren’t exactly philosemitic, yet they rejoice in the coming demographic changes
in America.

High caste South Asians seem to have similar talents and interests as Jews, and are replacing them quickly in most of their niches as Jews blend into the declining white population or become highly religious breeders without great interest in high powered careers and worldly vanities.
As an example of a Hindu replacing a Jew in a very desirable job, a pale one is replacing the long-time Jewish CEO of Starbucks.

So, what has happened here in the era of western abundance? When selection committees look for qualified people to give the C-level jobs to, they give them to the other cunning and ethnocentric group out there, Indians. Go look at the list of CEOs now running the Fortune 500. Jews have forfeited their place at the top to people they eagerly sought to replace White Christians with.
What will happen in the era of rapid western decline? When shit hits the fan and there are monsters back in the streets conducting live-fire searches for food and fire, who will be assumed as a White Men? That's right.
Jews had it great on the way up because they looked White and were able to insinuate themselves into positions of great power. They'll have it bad on the way down. That said, as long as they hold that sliver of desert in the Middle East, they'll always have a place to flee to.

I know he bucked the norm that Presidents leave D.C. when their successors are sworn into office (so that the former President wouldn't go about sabotaging his successor) on the pretext that Sashia or whomever had to conclude her high school career, but does he live in D.C. full time?

Boot is a fagela? He’s a homely man and, so probably invisible in fagela circles. No wonder he is unhappy and angry. If you’re gay and over 25, you might as well be dead, but to be homely on top of it all would be too much to bear.

These democrat bastions produce nothing that can be considered essentials. And they especially don’t grow nor have food-related raw materials for making food items. They require everything to be shipped in.
A white minority will mean food shortages and famine. Akin to the last white person turning off the light switch when they walk out of the “room” that is this society. This nation’s tax base will be dried up, infrastructure will fail, and agricultural production will became far more scarce.

I don't think there's a giant problem for Jews here, but the "New Americans" certainly won't be a win. They have not drunk the kool-aid, and the special tolerance and deference won't be there. There will be much more realism--and their own tribalism answering Jewish tribalism.

Comparatively speaking, these newer immigrant groups do not subscribe to Jewish exceptionalism, “God’s chosen people”, “the promised land (Israel)”, etc….. as do many White Americans, especially Evangelicals and many ethnic Catholics.

Bob Dylan winning the nobel lit prize bothers him, because he writes “flatulent doggerel.” He is against democracy and seems to favor the UK circa 1800 setup of a limited monarch and parliament voted in only by property owners. I agree that was a good system, but its inability to perpetuate itself was a major weakness, wasn’t it?

A great thing about the New Crowd is that they say the quiet part out loud. Most of the damage done to us has been through passive-aggressive techniques. But people like Max Boot are more up front in their hatred

I have gotten blacklisted from some family events for making the claim that “importing people from countries where 90% of the population is anti-semitic is probably not good for the Jews”. The problem is that many Jews are part of the Puritan left and are very good at articulating their woke values. As things are getting worse more Jews are realizing that going woke is ultimately bad (for example see Tablet magazine) but it might take some bad events to turn American Jews into British Jews who are now mainly on the right.

Takes like this are common. Left unspoken is that what this actually means is that a large fraction of citizens will be deeply unhappy living under the will of the majority. The larger the group of people ruled by one set of laws, the more unhappy people you will have.
Yet few people bring up decentralizing as a way to lower the temperature. I don’t know why, because decentralizing hurts very few people, and in fact simply gives everybody an option to choose which society they’d like to be a part of.

The National Park Service has also turned former presidents’ homes into tourist attractions. (Quite a facility at Hyde Park). At one point a law was passed placing a term limit on Secret Service protection, but they grandfathered those holding it at the time (and I’m not sure it hasn’t been repealed). The whole accumulation of expensive goodies is obscene.
1. Raise their statutory compensation, but withhold 15% of it each year to finance a retirement purse. No pension.
2. End Secret Service protection for the President and his immediate household after 12 years. The Nixons had no Secret Service protection the last eight years of their life and Jackie Kennedy shlepped around Manhattan for 19 years with no detail. 3. Build a modular presidential records center in Kansas City to house the archival material currently in the presidential libraries. Turn the physical plant and the gewgaws in those places over to the counties which house them and they can figure out what to do with them. Don’t build any more such things. Just add another module in Kansas City when a president leaves office.
4. Finance a small office for each to answer the man’s mail. Ann Landers got along with two secretaries, so it shouldn’t require much more than that.
5. Debar corporations, commercial or philanthropic, from concluding agreements with out-of-state parties which include offering honoraria in excess of a certain percentage of nominal personal income per capita. About $22,000 at current prices ought to cover it.

Other than Middle Easterners, the other nationalities you mention don’t think about Jews one way or another. I am pro-Hispanic immigration and it has nothing to do with what they think about Jews (which they don’t). I like that Hispanic women, especially the newer immigrants, tend to be more feminine and care about looking pretty. This used to be just normal behavior among women but now I find it a precious commodity.
