We are going to need a lot of crash projects. One way to speed them up is to suspend all the Diversity Inclusion Equity (DIE) requirements for hiring, indoctrinating, and promoting for the duration.

    @RichardTaylor

Well, inasmuch as the elderly who will die from Coronavirus are disproportionately white,* this is the rare case where the government etc. could work on behalf of Heritage Americans.

That said, suspending DIE won't happen. I appreciate Steve looking for opportunities to return the country to normality, and I hope it works, but I suspect that we're too far down the DIE slope. Most leadership today is just a cargo cult where they publicly chant the accustomed incantations and then expect everything to carry on as formerly so they can continue their private pillaging. The chances of these cargo cultists braving the pro-DIE onslaught for the good of the nation are approximately nil.

*BTW, this is something that the Boomer-haters here (of which I have been accused of being) ought to consider: the Boomers are the last supermajority white generation. It's an après nous le déluge situation.

  3. I used to think this “diversity, inclusion and equity (DIE)” thing was an iSteve joke, but I encountered a woman this week who kept on using the phrase “diversity, equity and inclusion” over and over again in conversation with total sincerity. Moreover, it was clear from her use of it that she had only a hazy idea what it meant. She had obviously picked it up somewhere; she kept sort of randomly inserting it into conversation like it was a magic spell.

It was really weird. If I didn’t know from other interactions with her that she sincerely believes this stuff, I would have thought it was some kind of performance art gag.

Pretty typical NPC behavior. Like the grade school teacher I know who says she's teaching her 4th graders about "social justice", but what she's really teaching is the golden rule plus SJW slogans. No thought, just repeat the slogans.

  6. Yes. Let’s agree to stop being stupid while we fight off this emergency. After that, we can go back to stupidity as usual.

    • Agree: jim jones
  7. But how could you fig-leaf such a moratorium?

As is, even suggesting that introduces thoughts that must not be thought: namely that DIE is a net cost.

Suspending environmental review is “ok” because everyone already knows that it’s a cost but it’s worth it because it gives us birds and clean air, but we can sacrifice a bit of that for expedience.

DIE efforts, on the other hand, allow us to get the best people who otherwise would be excluded due to invalid prejudice.

So actually, we have to double down on DIE because we need the best and most diverse people to face this challenge! old white (and Asian) men let us into this disaster, how are they going to lead is out?

The "best people" argument has gone by the wayside; DIE is now purely sold as punishment for YT.

In times of crisis, cults are rather famous for doubling down on doctrine, so we could well see a push for even more DIE to appease the gods.

The increasing inability to even understand the basic reality of differing abilities and talents is a major impediment. When reality is not understood- e.g. that there are disparate rates of criminal conviction and the real reason why- then even emergency reform is difficult.

The gloves are definitely coming off regarding China. I confess I always thought the 'threat' was overblown but this week is changing my attitude.

In an article in Xinhua, the state-run media agency that's largely considered the mouthpiece of the party, Beijing bragged about its handling of COVID-19, a virus that originated in Wuhan and has spread quickly around the world, killing nearly 5,000 people and infecting thousands more. The article also claimed that China could impose pharmaceutical export controls which would plunge America into "the mighty sea of coronavirus."

It's not enough that they gifted COVID-19 to the world, thanks to their barbaric, primitive habits of abusing animals--For which any remotely civilized country would be begging forgiveness.*

Nope, now they have to try and pass off some preposterous story that they just discovered the USA was actually the source of the pathogen, oh and BTW they're cutting off the supply of drugs to combat it.

Patrick Buchanan was right all along.

*I'll quote myself for those who missed it:

Keep in mind that even a dramatic triumph over this virus does absolutely nothing to prevent another one–just as virulent or even worse–coming out of Asia or Africa next year.

The hideous ways they treat animals in the third world are just one ingredient, as is rampant overpopulation. But are we even thinking of addressing causes, or just effects?

  36. The CDC has been saying masks are ineffective. What a mistake!

That is completely wrong. Simple masks are obviously very effective! East asians have known this for at least a generation.

The Chinese and Koreans instantly stopped CoronaVirus cold the minute everyone started wearing masks. I think that alone might be enough to get the R0 value below 1, which stops an outbreak.

President Xi just toured Wuhan and declared victory. He was wearing a simple facemask.

Famed Yale Virologist Iwasaki on twitter recently to her 15000 followers, “A mask will certainly keep your nose and mouth warmer and more humidified. I always wear a mask on international flights for this reason, where 10% relative humidity and closed environment makes for a perfect transmission incubator.”

    Useful info?

I would once have said not to wear a facemask on account of not causing panic, but I really don’t think the panic can get any worse at this point.

Then again, a certain overrepresented sub-group in "The West Is Bad" bunch has found out the Chinese aren't going to let them in. That's part of why we're getting articles about "Gee, China isn't really our friend after all!".

The gloves are definitely coming off regarding China. I confess I always thought the ‘threat’ was overblown but this week is changing my attitude.

In an article in Xinhua, the state-run media agency that’s largely considered the mouthpiece of the party, Beijing bragged about its handling of COVID-19, a virus that originated in Wuhan and has spread quickly around the world, killing nearly 5,000 people and infecting thousands more. The article also claimed that China could impose pharmaceutical export controls which would plunge America into “the mighty sea of coronavirus.”

It’s not enough that they gifted COVID-19 to the world, thanks to their barbaric, primitive habits of abusing animals–For which any remotely civilized country would be begging forgiveness.*

Nope, now they have to try and pass off some preposterous story that they just discovered the USA was actually the source of the pathogen, oh and BTW they’re cutting off the supply of drugs to combat it.

Patrick Buchanan was right all along.

*I’ll quote myself for those who missed it:

Keep in mind that even a dramatic triumph over this virus does absolutely nothing to prevent another one–just as virulent or even worse–coming out of Asia or Africa next year.

Again I say; blame Paul Krugman. He's the guy, darling of the financial establishment, who laughed at the notion of autarky as retrograde, a step back into the bad old days when nation-states warred with one another over access to resources and markets.

Let each make his special contribution guided by his comparative advantage and all would go along swimmingly.

And what has happened? One link broke and the whole chain has failed and now we find ourselves up against a wall and are being blackmailed.

Once again Jew intellectuals have conceived a brilliant plan (neo-liberalism) and forcefully imposed it upon a reluctant European population and once again Jewish intellectuals have failed. Once again, a century on, White Europeans will pay the price for Jewish cupidity, vanity and exaggerated self esteem.

    When will they ever learn?

Never. It is their nature to be high-minded idiots. They always think they know more than they really know and such people cannot ever know by how much they miss the mark. As the German physicists said, the Jews knew the theory but every time they were let into the lab, they broke stuff.

Being a prepper means never having to say “I told you so”, because “you” are held at AR-15 range.

Well once Whites become less than 50% our politics will change. It will be a long term change over decades. Look how the South reacted to have large Black populations (Jim Crow laws). In fact, South Carolina was the first to secede from the union and Whites were a minority!

See how South Africa handled it until forced to change by external forces.

My view is that Whites will act differently when they become a minority. Nothing is guaranteed and we need to put an end to forced integration first so enough Whites survive.

non-Hispanic whites have been a minority in CA for 20 years and while still in power this hasn’t stopped them from imposing DIE on us.

Prop 187 was more “last gasp” than “call to arms”
( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_California_Proposition_187) ( Unz followers know much more about it than me, I’m sure)

Personally, i don’t want apartheid because i think South Africa (and Zimbabwe) of today are inevitable with liberally minded people.
And i think the same is eventually going to happen to Israel.

I just don’t want the “hbd doesn’t exist and differences in outcomes are all because of racism” type DIE shoved onto me and society.

    Correct.

The libcuck hivemind at Reddit is utterly gleeful at the possibility that Trump may have Corona.

“I would never consider diversity in matters of art. Only quality.”

    Stephen King this month:

“Note that Trump’s coronavirus team is all male, all old, and all white”

So: Art is too important for Diversity, but Public Health is not.

Yeah I know what you’re saying, I am just skeptical that the solution to having our backs to the wall is to have our backs even more to the wall.

As vhrm mentions, California already became minority white decades ago. Are politics there now changing in any beneficial way?

I don't know if anyone has seen China's 2015 blockbuster Wolf Warrior (script written in the aughties), but it features a gratuitous subplot of villains formulating a virus specifically to afflict Chinese people.

So the Chinese paranoia that sinister foreigners are working to bio-genocide them has been circulating in the Chinese popular consciousness for some time.

The Chinese claimed that the U.S. used biological weapons against them in the Korean War, so this is an old accusation. I don’t know much Chinese or East Asian history. Do these nations have a tradition of using diseases as weapons?
