Unsilenced Science has the latest average SAT college admission test score data. Lots of tumult in recent years, such as a new test a few years ago, some pushes to get states to make the SAT mandatory and free). And now there’s a big decline of about 30% in students taking the test in the latest year.

But, whatever happens, Asians continue to pull away from the pack.

In 1996, the SAT scoring was “recentered.” “Recentered” means, “Hey, we can’t very well admit that people are getting stupider, so here is 80 or 90 points, mainly in the verbal, enjoy.” For example, a 730 verbal became a perfect 800. Thus, legit 800 people like the Challenger’s Judy Resnick (RIP) and Chuck Schumer (boo) were joined by people who really could not explain to you why the ancient mariner shot the albatross, although the college admissions officer would never know that from the up-adjusted perfect verbal scores. Anyway, here is a chart showing how the recentering was applied for different levels.

Asians pulling away from Whites in verbal after 2018 is quite surprising. I think there is less immigration of young Asians and as the fraction of Asian students who are natives goes up, they are showing the same gap as in math. Looks like migration of young Asians stopped around 2000.

More than race, the fact that the vast majority of Asian-American kids (still) grow up with both biological parents living in the same house is a larger factor.

When you combine deliberate single motherhood and divorce, perhaps 90% of black kids and 45-50% of white kids no longer live with both biological parents at all times from age 0 to 18. Hence, all other groups except Asians have fallen.

Asian relative outperformance is simply because they have thus far managed to resist the obliteration of the two-parent family. How much longer they can resist that onslaught remains to be seen.

Does this data foretell of a great replacement of Jews by East Asians in the US?
The Asians will start to move out of STEM and into law, corporate business, and government,
and then into media and politics. They have several advantages: 1. shear numbers, 2. an old country that will be the world’s greatest economic power, 3. many white males are rather fond of Asian women. Do the Jews have many allies left? Largely indifferent Whites (except for Israel first evangelicals and SJWs), bemused hispanics, and perhaps hostile blacks. Pass me the popcorn, the next decade should be interesting.

They don’t identify with other whites.

Suppose they identify; How does that help Johnny or Lisa do better in Calculus or Trigonometry? As Thomm[14] said, family stability is a major determinant. How can that be helped (by outsiders)? Also, dysgenics (fewer children by educated and well off, more children by less educated and struggling) may not have a feasible remedy.

  28. @epebble

That’s not the point. I said white children are systematically demoralized starting in kindergarten. Of course, it affects their performance. Being told whatever accomplishment you have is due to unfair privilege is bound to harm a person’s psyche (which is part of the reason it’s done).

If you identified with other whites, you would see this, you would feel this. If Jewish children were being systematically attacked in schools, do you think adult Jews would just say, “oh well, what’s that got to do with trigonometry”? No, they would care about their children and instinctively rise up in protest.

As far as family stability, that doesn’t detract from or contradict the horror white children are put through in school by government policy, or its deleterious affect. Maybe divorce is a factor, maybe not.

But Thomm is wrong to imply race isn’t fundamental. And it’s a bit gutless to avoid the issue. You can talk about “family values” all day long and keep your job. But the moment you point to officially sanctioned racial attacks, you are targeted.

The relentless rise in Asian scores seems odd – did H1B visas or something like that mean we siphoned off a ton of high IQ Asian talent from elsewhere that permanently settled here?

In somewhat related news, my local paper has a piece on a report by a local NFP that says black and Hispanic students face a chronic “lack of access” to quality education and notes that high performing schools tend to be in white-dominated areas of the city. The solution apparently is to replicate these schools in minority areas, enroll all kids in advanced classes (I am not kidding), and make sure every high school senior applies for federal financial aid to go to college.

Ethnocentrism is probably better predicted by lived experience and geography (which can too easily be conflated with IQ — look at all the accomplished white collar nominal anti-racists in Beverly Hills, look at all the bigots who can’t afford to move away). Also right now the only white people with any inclination toward white people are countercultural, which suggests internal monologue and capacity for media criticism. Uncritical consumption of social and mass media ought to lead in a straight line to anti-racism (ie, hatred of whites).

The solution apparently is to replicate these schools in minority areas

Separate is not equal. School districting is institutional segregation.

Kids from minority areas should be allowed to go to schools in white areas. A kid from E. LA, who’s willing to get up early, fight the traffic, etc so as to be one of the first 1,000 in-line at Beverly Hills High, should be allowed in [on that day].

Beverly Hills residents willingly pay high property taxes (accept high assessments) in order to prolong a system that protects their schools from being overrun by riffraff from Inglewood. It’s a non-funny version of the line, popular among LA’s in the 70’s, that the reason American farmers fed the Soviet army was to keep all the Russians from moving to California.

A great idea, but some bad news. That idea was for most intents and purposes voided exactly 50 years ago: Griggs vs. Duke Power, one of a series of odd court decisions. In this particular case, the concept of “disparate impact” was invented. As I understand it, that means that even if you cannot be shown to be discriminating by race, a court can still claim you’re discriminating by race. Many other crazy decisions over the years. I don’t know specific names, but someone could look them up. For example, it’s illegal to discriminate (typically by race) but it’s OK for the court to impose a solution that discriminates by race against a new group to atone for prior discrimination against a race. One of the more recent head scratchers is that quotas are generally illegal, except when not enough of certain minorities are being chosen, then apparently it’s tolerable, even preferable.

The number of Naive Americans taking the SAT exploded in 2016. The number of Blacks and Whites taking the SAT also jumped significantly in 2016 when they began allowing students to take the exam during school. Prior to 2016 students had to take the test on the weekend.

Instead of traveling to a testing location on a Saturday morning, students whose schools participate in SAT School Day get to take an official SAT at their own school, during class time. This means they don’t need to worry about transportation or scheduling issues that might otherwise prevent them from taking the SAT. They began doing this in 2015 and stopped charging low income students in 2016 so they numbers of students taking the SAT soared in 2016 which caused scores to drop fro Whites, Blacks and Indians

90% of Asians were already taking the SAT prior to the advent of School days testing so the number of Asians taking the SAT did not increase in 2016, while the number of Whites, Blacks and Indians taking the test increase significantly, thus the score fell for Whites, Blacks and Indians.

1.4 million test-takers took the new SAT in 2016, compared to 1.2 million who took the old SAT in 2015. This is a jump of approximately 200,000 SAT takers caused the scores to drop, as most of these additional 200,000 would have trouble graduating high school and are not college material.

There are plenty of schools in Oregon, Idaho, (and Montana, Wyoming, may be Utah, West Virginia, Kentucky, Washington, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont . . .) that are 100% or almost 100% White.

Finally! The Stopped Clock is Right for A Minute! Momentarily stepping away from your homoerotic fixations, you’ve actually managed to express an intelligent and meaningful thought. Congratulations!

Maybe, you can also see that Asian Racialism, or Their Unquestioned Preference for Maintaining Their Own Culture and Marrying Their Own People, is THE KEY to their success in marriage and family, and that lends itself to higher expectations, mutual cooperation, and greater achievement.

These are the same attributes that once, by and large, led White People to strive for excellence. A cursory review of many College Yearbooks from the mid to late 1960’s will reveal an astonishing degree of change in campus attitudes and appearances. Yet, any White Man who attempts to make a positive affirmation of White Racial Consciousness has been automatically derided by you with the most outrageous slanders and ridiculous accusations.

Why? It seems that you’re afraid that the same (((pernicious influences))) are threatening to subvert your culture, warp your identity, and destroy your families, too.

What does being 100% White have to do with it though? Some of the most vicious anti-White propaganda has been in virtually all white institutions.

They’re Asian, which isn’t a race but a continent, and Indians are a mix of West Eurasian (“white”) and aboriginal southeast Asian DNA. Nobody gives a shit about PCA graphs of genetics; lots of visibly “black” people cluster closer to whites on such genetic measures.

My reasoning is that Warren’s spurious claim got her scorched, and so reduced the number of grifters claiming to be native for the purpose of college application or SAT. Pretty thin hypothesis, but probably testable.

    Please elaborate on this.

That was the gist of my comment 55. Travis’ response in comment 59 is a good counterargument.

  74. U r dumb says:

“being demonized lowers our (white) test scores bc human psychology” – low iq isteve reader

“Generations of low expectations, a literal legacy of slavery, have no effect on black scores” – same low IQ isteve reader

Couldn’t create a dumber, less empathetic, less self aware group of people in a laboratory.
