From the New York Times opinion section, an op-ed from March 5 that has been reposted on the front page today:

Why Has There Been a Spike of Anti-Asian Hate?

A small yet aggressive segment of America refuses to accept that the country is made up of people from many different backgrounds.

By Jorge Ramos
Mr. Ramos is a contributing opinion writer and an anchor for the Univision network.

March 5, 2021

Pandemics fade. Racism does not. And when a president like Donald Trump unfairly blames an entire ethnic group for the coronavirus pandemic crisis, it can embolden discrimination and violence.

On a recent January morning, Vicha Ratanapakdee, an 84-year-old from Thailand, was walking in the Anza Vista neighborhood of San Francisco. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the police say, a 19-year-old man

Who is black.

slammed into Mr. Vicha, knocking him down. He died two days later in the hospital.

Mr. Vicha’s family believe the attack was a hate crime, that he was targeted because he was Asian. Unfortunately, Mr. Vicha is far from the only victim of anti-Asian violence in recent months.

In late January, a 91-year-old man was shoved from behind by a stranger while he was walking down a street in Oakland’s Chinatown. He fell down face-first but survived. The assault happened in daylight directly outside the Asian Resource Center, a gathering spot for the Asian-American community. A 28-year-old man was charged in the attack.

Who is black.

… Why is this happening?

“The rhetoric spurred by the previous administration when the pandemic started — using ‘China virus,’ ‘kung flu’ and all that kind of stuff — has made Asian-Americans a target to basically people who are racist,” Daniel Wu, star of the television series “Into the Badlands,” told me in a recent interview. Mr. Wu was born in Berkeley, Calif., worked as an actor in Hong Kong for many years and is now active in the campaign to prevent attacks against Asian-Americans.

It is hard to understand what would drive a young man to shove an elderly Asian man to the ground.

What is clear is that these attacks are occurring during not only a pandemic but also a cultural and demographic revolution in the United States. …

By 2044, America’s white population may no longer represent a majority of the country, according to the Census Bureau’s calculations. And what we’ve been witnessing in the United States — on the streets of the nation’s Chinatowns, in the Capitol on Jan. 6 and in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017 — is the resentment and incomprehension of a small yet aggressive segment of the population that refuses to accept that the country is changing, that it is increasingly made up of people from many different backgrounds.

Statistically, the main crisis of violence that we are undergoing at present is that black criminal violence has surged during following the death of George Floyd. Black-on-Asian street violence has been a standard feature of urban America for decades. To the extent it’s higher in 2021 (which I don’t know for sure), it’s likely because black violence against everybody (especially other blacks) has surged during BLM’s Racial Reckoning.

  1. I, for one, am glad to see that the term “Kung Flu” is still in use. Thank you, George Ramos.

Do you think, Steve, that this article was dredged back up as soon as the NY Times found their Great White Defendant? Thar she blows!

Ach, a diner on our Main St. was recently reopened under new ownership. I wish them luck. They had a portable sign in front of the restaurant..."Everyone was Kung Flu Fighting, but now we are open," I thought it was funny. Racist? Not hardly, but comedy, which used to parody reality is now squashed, unless you consider maher, colbert, noah, bee, et al to be funny.I don't. Stay safe.

Apologies to anyone who read this the last time I posted it.

From the invaluable HBD-related website, Those Who Can See:

On Planet Earth, Afro crime is high. Period. It is high in their homeland, Africa. It is high in countries to which they migrate that were colonizers. It is high in countries to which they migrate that were not colonizers. It is high in countries to which they migrate that were slavers. It is high in countries to which they migrate that were not slavers. It is high nearly everywhere they are found on this third rock from the sun.

Idang Alibi, a Nigerian journalist, states it plainly:

Anywhere in the world today where you have a concentration of black people among other races, the poorest, the least educated, the least achieving, and the most violent group among those races will be the blacks. When indices of underdevelopment are given, black people and countries are sure to occupy the bottom of the ladder.

God himself must be frustrated with his black children. They must be an embarrassment to him. He has given us everything he has given to other of his children; why are his black children not manifesting their own gift?

Afro crime is very high relative to other groups. This is why we profile.

@4 Dian: The other races may hate blacks, but they all envy and resent White Europeans more. Asians willingly denounce 'white supremacy' even when they know the attackers are black, because it's Whites they are in competition with. It is White authority they want to supplant, it is White creativity they want to harness, and it is White children they are busily replacing. They'll deal with the other POX after they've sufficiently subverted Whites. Any White who sees them as even temporary allies is deluded and cucked.

  5. Chicago public schools are back in-person (at least for the early grades).

The district’s [union] teachers are able to avoid in-school violence by babysitting from home (BFH).

Doctrinaire, the union demands a credentialed teacher in every classroom (i.e. protectionism). But in Chicago, so long as union members can assert their bargained, unassailable claim to an in-person exemption (e.g. caring for a loved one), they can stay home; the union is then content to let non-credentialed substitutes, and other part-timers, do the in-person babysitting for them.

Around a third of Chicago teachers are BFH. Their students who show-up sit in front of screens. Meanwhile, parents who expected credentialed babysitters are understandably upset. Some are reacting by keeping their kids home. After all, they’re just going to be looking at screens anyway.

Meanwhile, the schools tell city taxpayers, “Your tally of tax payments shall not diminish!”

How can they not be, given the omnipresence of American pop culture and media around the globe? We export gangsta rap culture. We have inner cities that look like war zones. We have more people incarcerated than anywhere else in the world. These aren’t secrets.

Come to West Coast Armory in Bellevue, Washington on any weekend. It's basically a slightly upscale (and more than slightly marked-up) gun store and range serving the Eastside of King County. The area is home to the H-1B hordes working for Microsoft, Amazon, et al. At least half or more of the people signing up for lanes on the range are Asian.

OT but related: I am getting swamped by calls, texts, emails, and LinkedIn messages from recruiters looking for immigration lawyers to do contract work for Microsoft getting H-1B visas for their code coolies. That's not my field, and I'm already paid much better in a permanent position that doesn't involve helping import a replacement middle class into my country, so I'm not interested. 23. As tendentious and ill-intentioned as the “White Supremacy Makes Blacks Attacks Asians” thesis is, there’s an argument that blacks aren’t entirely irrational to be thugging out against their fellow members of the “Coalition of the Ascendant,” or to react against the decline of a white majority. Other non-whites won’t have white guilt, and will have little reason to feel much sympathy for blacks (though yellowfaced Asian representatives of Wokeness are doing their damnedest to try to keep other Asians from noticing). In a twisted sort of way, it makes some sense for the blacks to be as aggressive as they can now at asserting dominance over the other races they’re going to have to be dealing with, instead of Mistah Charlie. If the difference is between that and basically being ignored and written off as legacy morality pets of the former white majority, as I said, it makes a twisted sort of sense.

As tendentious and ill-intentioned as the "White Supremacy Makes Blacks Attacks Asians" thesis is, there's an argument that blacks aren't entirely irrational to be thugging out against their fellow members of the "Coalition of the Ascendant," or to react against the decline of a white majority. Other non-whites won't have white guilt, and will have little reason to feel much sympathy for blacks (though yellowfaced Asian representatives of Wokeness are doing their damnedest to try to keep other Asians from noticing). In a twisted sort of way, it makes some sense for the blacks to be as aggressive as they can now at asserting dominance over the other races they're going to have to be dealing with, instead of Mistah Charlie. If the difference is between that and basically being ignored and written off as legacy morality pets of the former white majority, as I said, it makes a twisted sort of sense.

A lot of Blacks resent Asians who open up businesses in Black neighborhoods yet do not create any jobs in the Black community because these Asian small business owners in the hood only hire within their own Asian racial tribe. There would be a lot less resentment if Asian small business owners in the hood created jobs in the Black community. Asians being way too racially tribal to employ Blacks can not be blamed on White Supremacy!

Would this be the same group of black people that complain that they are forced into living in food deserts and not enough businesses want to invest in their communities? Could it be Asians doing business in black communities hire their own family members to keep their profit margins instead of some kind of discrimination? Why don’t you open a few stores in predominantly black neighborhoods before you point fingers.

As for Mr. Ramos, I read with an open mind but it seems he is twisting himself into a pretzel to put the blame on Trump. Is he claiming urban blacks are followers of Trump and instigating violence upon Asians because Trump told them to? Seems like a stretch.

    @Luzzatto

Africans aren't the only tribe they do that gets the long end of the stick from Asians. Go into any Asian owned business and look around at all of the employees. No matter which neighborhood they operate in the modus operendi is the same. Namely, hire your own tribe, and only your own tribe. Years back an Asian opened up a Chinese buffet restaurant in our small WYTE majority town and all the employees looked like they just got off the plane from China. Unless they were bringing them in on shipping containers. Very few could speak English much less understand the language. And, the food was pure shit and the business didn't last very long.

Same is true for all the non-WYTE tribes. They all hire their own tribe and nothing but their own tribe. And, they never get called out for discrimination practices in the workplace. It seems only WYTEs are required to employ other tribes.

  27. Only a bit OT — it’s quite easy to imagine Robert Aaron Long slinking off to seedy massage parlors to find his version of sexual satisfaction. But there’s another ongoing case of massage parlor troubles that’s gone unmentioned here so far. It involves someone you would think might not need to frequent such venues to get his kicks, i.e. the star quarterback of the Houston Texans:

DESHAUN WATSON ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN 3RD LAWSUIT; LAWYER SAYS 9 WOMEN ‘BRINGING CASES’ SO FAR

Some Watson highlights, so to speak:

A third civil lawsuit filed against Deshaun Watson accuses the Houston Texans quarterback of sexually assaulting a massage therapist, ESPN reports.

Watson is said to have forced a woman to have oral sex with him in December 2020, the article states.

This is the third civil case filed against Watson this week in the Harris County Courts within Houston. The first was filed Tuesday, and the court docket shows two additional complaints were filed Wednesday.

The other two lawsuits were related to two separate incidents that claim Watson committed “civil assault” by touching a massage therapist with his penis.

Trump and Pompeo’s incendiary rhetoric against China does inflame hatred against Asians in this country, especially among Trump’s base. All you have to do is go to Breitbart, Zerohedge Gab.com or any number of neocon websites to see this. There is a daily section on Breitbart attacking China in every way. Every mention of coronavirus is preceded by the word “Chinese”, and every mention of China is preceded by the word “Communist”. Neocons have been working hard to whip up hatred for China for the past 4 years through Trump’s harsh, tactless rhetoric. When coronavirus struck, the right’s hate machine went into overdrive. And the left is now getting with the program. Hatred for China is the only thing the left and the right can agree on.

There is a major difference between the left’s attack on Russia and the right’s attack on China. It’s difficult to tell apart Russians from whites, but it is very easy to tell apart Asians from non-Asians. Most people also can’t tell apart the different ethnicity among Asians, so incendiary rhetoric from the media and our leaders can very quickly lead to increased violence against Asians. If we ever go to war against China, I fear for the lives of all Asians in this country.

I’ve also noticed that hatred for China increases as the number of Indians and Jews increase in each administration, from Obama to Trump to Biden. Indians are incredibly jealous of China, and Jews are warmongers who hate everybody. So the more of these two groups we get in government, the more likely it is we will go to war against China.

I'm not sure about your last paragraph, but the first 2 are a lot of BS. Hell, the Cold War went on with the ultimate enemy being the USSR for 40 years, yet no American would think of picking on a Russian immigrant based on Cold War politics.

Almost all times foreigners living in America are harassed by Americans based solely on their race/ethnicity is when American get sick and tired of so many being pushed on them, changing their society. An example is the Moslems. Americans might occasionally, against their better judgement (especially if they are white) mouth off about "go back to the desert" or call them towelheads, but it's not because anyone's been whipped up to a frenzy due to the politics (events just after 9/11 being an exception.)

The comment below by Anonymousperson is another point I'd have made. "Kung Flu" is the term I use. So what? If there were incontrovertible proof that this virus came from that new Wuhan lab (which I suspect), that doesn't change my attitude toward Chinese people in America, or even in China for that matter.

There IS NO right-wing hate machine. The hate is almost completely on the left. Christian Exoo is a great example.

  30. The virus came from China. I don’t see how saying that is “condemning” all Chinese as this clown says.

And what we’ve been witnessing in the United States — on the streets of the nation’s Chinatowns, in the Capitol on Jan. 6 and in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017 — is the resentment and incomprehension of a small yet aggressive segment of the population that refuses to accept that the country is changing,

The country is changing? To borrow the author’s own phrase: “Why is this happening?” Colonization perhaps? I guess that’s only Evil when white gentiles do it.

And, as Steve points out, this trying to pin the assaults on Asians (pre-massage parlor attack, when this article was first published) on white people is flat out lying. Typical New York Times.

  33. Open lies in service of bearing false witness.

How many times did Jesus warn about the sin of false accusers? Its symptiomatic of the birth of real physical hostilities. Its dangerous and a dishonest incitment to active hatred. Haim Saban needs to reign in the tongue of his employee.

  34. Yeah, Blacks have been attacking Asians the Oriental type not the Dot type for DECADES. Hell, Blacks even give East Indians a hard time at convenience stores all the time so it isn’t just the Oriental type “Asians” who they have a problem with.

“Kung Flu” wasn’t around during the Rodney King riots of 1992 nor were any Oriental cops involved in beating Rodney King but Blacks decided to attack Orientals particularly Korean store owners anyhow. Maybe a lot of Blacks are just plain old fashioned common racist bigots. Nah, can’t be, can it?

Blacks are notorious for being racist against Orientals. I saw a table of Blacks running an Oriental waiter ragged and then get up and not leave a tip. They went out laughing at about it as well. Disgusting scene to witness, you really had to be there to see it to believe it. It was truly despicable.

  42. Ramos is fighting the last war. The round up of most or all White men is already in the works, and the new non-White military will be employed along with SEALs, Delta, etc. to round up pretty much most of White men and put them into Uighur style camps.

Like I said, this has already been decided, the train is rolling. And there is not much White men can do about it — the power even in the enfeebled state of now of the US Military to round up most White men is impressive. A few will hide out likely but most will live the rest of their days however long that is in a camp somewhere miserable.

However, the new rulers are likely to a be a mixture of Chinese and Cartels. There is no particular reason say that a major cartel cannot just claim control and make it stick of much of the Southwest, including Southern California, most of Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. Pablo Escobar sort of ran an entire country for a while, and no doubt there are extremely ambitious, ruthless, powerful, intelligent men in the cartels who studied his mistakes (being public mostly) and have ambitions. The same can be said for various “businessmen” aka PLA people in the US. Who often have cartel connections or even intermarriage.

This rule might not even be public, and the more powerful for not being blared over the internet and TV. You can tell when there are no more drug arrests. When narcotics are sold openly in and around schools, churches, etc. When the police suffer constant budget cuts and never arrest any drug criminals any more. When various men who look like cartel thugs are seen to “visit” government officials and get radical changes over night. When prisons are all emptied. When there is no more border control at all. When suddenly for no reason some obstinate politicians and law enforcement people and media people get mysteriously killed by assassins and no one ever finds out who did it.

Under these guidelines, you could argue that much of the US is already under the gravitational pull of some dark cartel lord. A black hole of violence and money and killers who can not be seen directly but whose influence can only be imputed by the behavior people and institutions around him.

Jorge Ramos should ask himself this: if we are headed to cartel rule or are already there, what use do they have for black people? Caring about anything White people do is like caring about Emperor Franz Josef in 1943 on the Eastern Front.

According to the Pew Research Center, the Asian-American population increased by 72 percent from 2000 to 2015, making it the fastest growing ethnic group in the United States, surpassing even the Latino population’s growth rate of 60 percent. This reflects the greater number of Asian immigrants compared with Latin American immigrants in recent years.

That may be true, but here’s a difference in the base. In 2000 4.2% of the population were Asian or mixed vs 12.5% Latino. (1) (2)

That means that using the 70% and 60% change he mentions it means that we have gained 7.5x as many latinos as asians in those 15 years.

Or perhaps it’s not innumerate, but rather self-serving racism by Mr. Jorge Ramos of Univision trying to imply that it’s the Asians invading rather than the his own group.

But surely he wouldn’t do something like that on purpose, so i’m sure it’s all innocent.

They're offering what would be excellent pay for a contract position though, especially for the minimal qualifications they claim to require. The Rush for America is clearly kicking into high gear in the Biden era. The recruiters, of course, all sound like they're calling from the Bombay train station.

Trump and Pompeo's incendiary rhetoric against China does inflame hatred against Asians in this country, especially among Trump's base. All you have to do is go to Breitbart, Zerohedge Gab.com or any number of neocon websites to see this. There is a daily section on Breitbart attacking China in every way. Every mention of coronavirus is preceded by the word "Chinese", and every mention of China is preceded by the word "Communist". Neocons have been working hard to whip up hatred for China for the past 4 years through Trump's harsh, tactless rhetoric. When coronavirus struck, the right's hate machine went into overdrive. And the left is now getting with the program. Hatred for China is the only thing the left and the right can agree on.

There is a major difference between the left's attack on Russia and the right's attack on China. It's difficult to tell apart Russians from whites, but it is very easy to tell apart Asians from non-Asians. Most people also can't tell apart the different ethnicity among Asians, so incendiary rhetoric from the media and our leaders can very quickly lead to increased violence against Asians. If we ever go to war against China, I fear for the lives of all Asians in this country.

I've also noticed that hatred for China increases as the number of Indians and Jews increase in each administration, from Obama to Trump to Biden. Indians are incredibly jealous of China, and Jews are warmongers who hate everybody. So the more of these two groups we get in government, the more likely it is we will go to war against China.

    Replies: @Achmed E. Newman

I’m not sure about your last paragraph, but the first 2 are a lot of BS.

Americans might occasionally, against their better judgement (especially if they are white) mouth off about “go back to the desert” or call them towelheads, but it’s not because anyone’s been whipped up to a frenzy due to the politics (events just after 9/11 being an exception.)

The comment below by Anonymousperson is another point I’d have made. “Kung Flu” is the term I use. So what? If there were incontrovertible proof that this virus came from that new Wuhan lab (which I suspect), that doesn’t change my attitude toward Chinese people in America, or even in China for that matter.

There IS NO right-wing hate machine. The hate is almost completely on the left. Christian Exoo is a great example.

This is far from a black and white issue (no pun intended).

One thing that comes into play is that the small shops often are literal mom and pop shops where it's just one couple running it, maybe with some help from their kids. They don't employ anyone.

Next step is that they hire family of friends or people they already know. Some also hire illegal immigrants and/or play fast and loose with labor laws so they need people who will play ball.

In my area medium and larger shops do tend to hire more outside the group, but, in convenience/grocery stores that tends to be latinos more than blacks.

There's no question that they absolutely are tribal / racist sometimes for reasons good and bad, but
I don't get the impression that this is any different than other immigrant groups did in the past (e.g. italians, jews , polish etc )

If Whites were “solid/dominant”, non-Whites would not be admitted to Anglosphere and European territory, at least not as free persons.

Letting them in as unfree persons is even worse. They're the bottom of the barrel by definition. Later they're let loose into a world they can't handle, and in which they can't be handled.

We could handle a few nonwhites let in (for a price) on a root-hog-or-die basis. They'd be too busy working to cause trouble.

This is what gives lie to the diversity industry. You could have pretty much all of the benefits of diversity (Spicy Food!) with a few thousand foreigners in ethnic enclaves in large cities like London. People who really wanted diversity (Spicy Food!) could travel to or locate themselves near those cosmopolitan areas. You don’t need Pakistanis in every small village and borough in England to experience the benefits of diversity (Spicy Food!). You do need them if your aim is darker and more nefarious.

I think you misread the situation. Those Asian variety stores and Chop Suey joints in the hood exist only because the Asian families can eke out a profit via their own cut-rate labor usually as part of some immigration scheme or employment of illegals. I doubt that they report a fraction of the revenue that they make either – these are often still cash heavy enterprises. To the extent that they actually pay their employees, it is in cash. How would they pay black employees below minimum wage? They have no leverage over them. This is before you account for the actual reality of employing surly, defiant urban blacks.

And blacks don’t want to work for Asian bosses in their own neighborhoods. At least theoretically they want brilliant black entrepreneurs to open some unspecified businesses in the hood that pay high wages for unskilled work with lax discipline. So far I don’t think anyone has successfully threaded that needle.

Ramos is fighting the last war. The round up of most or all White men is already in the works, and the new non-White military will be employed along with SEALs, Delta, etc. to round up pretty much most of White men and put them into Uighur style camps.

Like I said, this has already been decided, the train is rolling. And there is not much White men can do about it -- the power even in the enfeebled state of now of the US Military to round up most White men is impressive.

The same can be said for various "businessmen" aka PLA people in the US.

When various men who look like cartel thugs are seen to "visit" government officials and get radical changes over night.

And, the food was pure shit and the business didn’t last very long.

Same is true for all the non-WYTE tribes. They all hire their own tribe and nothing but their own tribe. And, they never get called out for discrimination practices in the workplace. It seems only WYTEs are required to employ other tribes.

The earliest available evidence suggested the killer held the most retrograde attitudes about women’s sexuality that you could imagine: that it was woman’s duty not to tempt men rather than the man’s responsibility to resist temptation, and that violence was a justified response to women who failed to do so.

Letting them in as unfree persons is even worse. They’re the bottom of the barrel by definition. Later they’re let loose into a world they can’t handle, and in which they can’t be handled.

We could handle a few nonwhites let in (for a price) on a root-hog-or-die basis. They’d be too busy working to cause trouble.

You don't need Pakistanis in every small village and borough in England to experience the benefits of diversity (Spicy Food!). You do need them if your aim is darker and more nefarious.

People who say that Asians should recognise that Blacks are actually attacking them in the overwhelming majority of cases and therefore should get with the Steve Sailer agenda are missing the point in a spectacular fashion.
My personal experience is limited to Filipinos and Koreans but I suspect it holds true for Chinese , Japanese Vietnamese, Thais, Indians, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis.
They are well aware of who is likely to sucker punch them... and of course they take the same precautions as the rest of us.
Asians are not going to fall in behind Donald Trump or Jared Taylor...why should they?
Asians admire - indeed in many cases idolize-Jewish Americans.
Asians have picked their team... Obviously it's the winning team...
Why would they hang out with a gang of defeated deplorables?

Seems such precautions would include voting conservative at some point — leftism begets more leftism until a critical mass can’t stand it anymore.

How much increased sucker punching (both literal and figurative) will it take until Asians can’t stand “winning” anymore?

Ziocons' worst nightmare is an alliance between whites and East Asians as they know there is high intermarriage between the two groups. They need to make these two groups hate each other as much as possible, divide and conquer. So on the right they have useful idiots like Trump, Pompeo and Tom Cotton doing their bidding to rile up white hate on Asians, and on the left they have msm, academia and the DNC to rile up Asian hate on whites.

The irony is if Trump's base are serious nationalists they would support China as the CCP is incredibly nationalist, it's why the Ziocons hate them, because they make it hard for Wall Street to go in there and loot their country. Same goes for Putin. America should be in alliance with these two countries because they are the anti-globohomo.

Trump failed miserably in bringing back manufacturing to the US because he didn't have a good industrial policy, so he's lashing out at China with all kinds of wild accusations and hitting them with ridiculous sanctions hoping to scare US corporations into bringing back manufacturing. It's really quite lame. He is a feckless leader and I really hope he doesn't try to run again in 2024. We need a real leader who will bring back manufacturing, end all wars and all immigration.

A member of the San Francisco School Board referred to Asian-Americans as “house n****r[s]” in a 2016 tweet thread, in a comment highlighted by the organizer of a movement to recall her….

Vice-President on the school board, Alison Collins, published a long Twitter thread in December 2016 in which she explained her intention “to combat anti-black racism in the Asian community at my daughters’ mostly Asian-Am[erican] school.”

Collins accused “many Asian American Ts, Ss, and Ps” — teachers, students, and parents — of promoting “the ‘model minority BS” and of using “white supremacist thinking to assimilate and ‘get ahead,’” reported the National Review.

Collins then demanded to know “where are the vocal Asians speaking up against Trump?”

“Don’t Asian Americans know they are on his list as well?” Collins continued. “Do they think they won’t be deported? profiled? beaten? Being a house n****r is still being a n****r. You’re still considered “the help.”

Calling for her resignation is dumb and counterproductive (not that you are, i mean for people quoted in the articles i've found about her). This is basically what Critical Race Theory, which is to say the whole "social justice" movement , BLM, structural racism, etc. believes.

Whoever replaces her would still believe exactly the same thing, but will have some plausible deniability for not having expressed it so clearly and used the n-word.

One wants to keep this person in place so that her tweets can continue to be pointed to.

The same can be said for various "businessmen" aka PLA people in the US.

When various men who look like cartel thugs are seen to "visit" government officials and get radical changes over night.
