From Twitter:

JK Rowling faces backlash for criticizing the phrase “people who menstruate”

The author of the Harry Potter books took issue with the headline of an opinion piece published by Devex. The headline referred to “people who menstruate.” Rowling said she believed that the headline should refer to women instead. People quickly pointed out that women are not the only people who menstruate, sparking a heated debate about sex and gender.

Is Rowling the only billionaire who has dared say anything brave over the last two weeks? Granted, she’s only speaking sanity to power in World War T, not World War B, which takes even more courage at the moment.

But what’s the good of having a billion bucks if you still let yourself be humiliated?

As Theodore Dalrymple said:

“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is…in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

  3. to be honest, she is old and, for women like her, it seems that she knows that there are two types of human being.

Attractive young women and the rest of us.

She is the rest of us, at this point of time.

Should you be interested in the psychological wellsprings of many twitter outbursts, reflect on this>

99 percent of twitter outbursts which purport to reflect on the issues of “who is a ‘real woman’ and who is not” are inspired by the emotions people feel when they realize that they are not attractive young women and they want to be (approximately 20 percent), or the emotions people feel when they realize that attractive young women consider them to be completely unimportant (approximately 70 percent). ( the other 10 percent are actual attractive women )….My best guess is, if Rowling were still as hot as she was 20 years ago, she would be signaling as strong as she can that of course “people who menstruate” is a more realistic phrase than “women” or “women who menstruate”, as Jeeves often explained to Wooster, it is the psychology of the individual that needs to be considered.

That being said, God bless her for sticking up for what is right in this particular instance. Of course only women menstruate, it is amazing that anyone could disagree with that.

There are going to be big changes in pro and college sports when they finally come back from the lockdowns. If Brees wants to play, he's got to pay.

I don't fully grasp the drive that so many star athletes have, i.e. the desire to do or say just about anything if only it will give them a chance to keep playing. I wish Brees had told his whining teammates to stuff it, and had simply walked away. But obviously he sees his own humiliation as a reasonable price to pay for the chance at an additional twilight season or two.

The NFL has gone the way of the NBA, in that the players --- that is, specifically the black players -- are going be calling the shots far more directly than before. MLB is floundering; this season is going to be an asterisk at best, especially since sports media eyes will first be on the culturally-correct NBA as they finish off their season in their reality-show format, and then attention will immediately shift to football and the whole kneeling-and-obeisance circus that will make up this year's season.

I've even been getting an (unwanted) stream of stories from google on the situation at the University of Iowa's football program, where black former players have been complaining that the team's culture didn't suit them, i.e. the coaches didn't 'respect' them, tried to make them act in ways they didn't feel like, etc. The coach is bowing and scraping like crazy in the media.

A lot of things are coming to a head.

As a woman who is getting relatively closer in age to "old and unattractive" than not, getting older appears to take away some social perks, and it can sting sometimes, but you have a very weird monomania going on there. I've only encountered the very strident, damaged variety of feminists who believe that the main, possibly even only value placed on women is youth and beauty. Yet you seem to believe the same thing, albeit with a different focus.

Except for Navratilova and the comedians Chapelle and Gervais she is the only celebrity I know of to criticize the TRAs and she is the only very wealthy person to do so. Transwomen have been harassing lesbians for years so it is pathetic that lesbians like Maddow and Degeneres are silent.

Liberal American women have embraced trans dogma while many British women have resisted. Are American women weaker or more delusional than the Brits?

(Galaxy Quest alien sniveling voice): Those poor, poor lesbians.

It's not like lesbians haven't been hassling everyone normal for the last fifty years.

As for Rowling, why can't she wave a wand (Good Witch Glinda or Wicked Witch of the East, your call) and make all of her critics disappear?

Anyways, according to the marvellous Miles Mathis, a genuine magus of the modern metier, her ghastly oeuvre was in fact ghost-written by a gang of weary, chain-smoking, down-at-heels Harry Palmer (The Ipcress File) types sat in a dingy, greasy-windowpaned MI5 office opposite Kings Cross. Her role in the script may be to serve as warning to others, like Admiral John Byng.

It's probably fear. If American women speak out, they can lose jobs and thus health insurance. Also the gay/tranny mafia is much stronger here. There are a lot of rich MTF trannies with megaphones. They get very aggressive on twitter and I think some are only a few more mental breakdowns away from turning into Silence of the Lambs style killers.

Maybe women in Britain also have more men backing them up, which helps dissuade the fear of speaking out against crazed trannies.

Some teenage girls and their parents have spoken out about trannies in high school sports. That's pretty brave.

  6. First bloke to get trans surgery in Britain was a Spitfire pilot and racecar driver, in line with your suggestion that trannies tend to be masculine men before going trans:

I've read some gay literature. A lot of gay men were sexually abused by older boys at summer camps in homosocial environments. Also, a lot of gay men see the world war mobilizations as the genesis of the gay scene. Makes sense, though not the way that they see it.

The way they see it is that bringing so many people together resulted in the natural expression of homosexuality.

More likely is that the unnatural stress of war resulted in homosexual behavior among some men. Furthermore, amphetamines were regularly used in wartime. Meth is a regular component of gay life, and its introduction to military men probably resulted in elevated levels of homosexual behavior. Meth is a relatively recent invention, made in the late 19th century.

This also explains Weimar Germany's homosexual scene following WWI. Demobilized soldiers who have grown addicted to Meth while serving in the war.

So that a fighter pilot and racecar driver is the first tranny makes perfect sense. He probably had ingested copious amounts of speed/meth during his service, and afterwards, and this altered his mind to this degree. For that matter, the impact of meth on human societies really is unexamined.

Cowell would be canceled today. From Wikipedia:

"A brief interview with Sunday Times journalist Michael Bateman appeared in March 1972, when she was working on an (unpublished) second biography.[35] In the interview, she stated she was an intersex individual with the chromosomal abnormality XX male syndrome, and that the condition justified her transition.[Note 8] She also spoke in derogatory terms of those individuals with XY chromosomes who also underwent male to female gender reassignment, saying "The people who have followed me have often been those with male chromosomes, XY. So they've been normal people who've turned themselves into freaks by means of the operation."[35]"

Jan Morris, a very distinguished journalist and writer had sex change surgery performed in Morocco in 1972. Surgeons in Britain would not do this surgery because she had not at that point divorced her wife with whom she had five children, one of whom died young. At this stage of her life she was known as Mr James Morris.

He continued to live with his wife although they eventually divorced and then finally reunited in a civil union and lived happily ever after.

Morris was part of the expedition of Sir Edmund Hillary on the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1952 and sent reports back to Britain that arrived just in time for the coronation.

It’s a good quote, but I think enforcing in-group uniformity is more important than humiliation. The same mechanism happens with religion, whereby the more ridiculous the beliefs, the stronger the belief in them, and the stronger the social glue between members. FYM is a concept only for the non-greedy.

On my mother's side I had some older family members that did well in the JFK/MM era and bought stock, and got largely out of it before the high fliers imploded. They had made enough money that they could live modestly on the interest, having paid off their houses. In the late sixties and early seventies their corporate employers started to jerk them around so they took early retirement or in one case simply quit cold turkey. They were able to buy into tax free muni's at insane returns in the Jiminy Carter era and wound up taking lesser paying but stress free jobs for "bait and beer money" and insurance, or started hobby-businesses of their own, and died fat and happy. But they all said they would have made more staying put: it just wasn't worth the grief.

Human nature is if you have X, you want 2x, and so forth. It's just a number over a certain amount. But they want that number.

Me, I'd be happy with two, three million conservatively invested giving me enough cash out to live as I do and maybe buy a few nice toys. But if I had that, I might want more. At some point though I'd like to think enough is enough.

Yeah, Rowling is basically a man hater (one of her tweets says she feels kinship for trans because 'like women, they are vulnerable to male violence').

It's just that her hatred for males is strong enough that she recognises that pushy trannies barging in on feminist turf are really just men with their dicks cut off underneath it all, so her hatred kind of shields her against a particular delusion of clownworld (a bit like 'hatefacts' do for other people in other cases).

but that doesn't mean she's 'on our side' in this issue (like some ppl seem to imply) ; it's just purely internal squabbling over the doctrine of 'her side'.

I’ve read some gay literature.

This also explains Weimar Germany’s homosexual scene following WWI.

Here is the article from devex:
    https://www.devex.com/news/sponsored/opinion-creating-a-more-equal-post-covid-19-world-for-people-who-menstruate-97312

Using the phrase “people who menstruate” actually makes more sense than just “women” in that context (given the existence of post-menopausal women). My personal preference would be “women who menstruate” (which is what I suspect JK Rowling meant).

An estimated 1.8 billion girls, women, and gender non-binary persons menstruate, and this has not stopped because of the pandemic. They still require menstrual materials, safe access to toilets, soap, water, and private spaces in the face of lockdown living conditions that have eliminated privacy for many populations.

I’m actually kind of curious how the Woke should feel about this. Is lumping trans-men (those who menstruate, anyway) in that category a form of misgendering? Is excluding trans-women (who do not menstruate, is there a single example otherwise?) from that category another form of misgendering? Or does biological reality matter when it comes to menstruation, just not when it comes to sex?

Life in our Brave New World is so complex. I really wish someone would start bringing out an annual (would that be frequent enough?) PC almanac to help everyone keep track of the set of opinions which is maximally righteous in the Current Year.

99 percent of twitter outbursts which purport to reflect on the issues of "who is a 'real woman' and who is not" are inspired by the emotions people feel when they realize that they are not attractive young women and they want to be (approximately 20 percent), or the emotions people feel when they realize that attractive young women consider them to be completely unimportant (approximately 70 percent). ( the other 10 percent are actual attractive women )....My best guess is, if Rowling were still as hot as she was 20 years ago, she would be signaling as strong as she can that of course "people who menstruate" is a more realistic phrase than "women" or "women who menstruate", as Jeeves often explained to Wooster, it is the psychology of the individual that needs to be considered.

That being said, God bless her for sticking up for what is right in this particular instance. Of course only women menstruate, it is amazing that anyone could disagree with that.

BTW, Steve, Trump is a billionaire, he has said some cool and brave things in the last couple of weeks.

As a woman who is getting relatively closer in age to “old and unattractive” than not, getting older appears to take away some social perks, and it can sting sometimes, but you have a very weird monomania going on there. I’ve only encountered the very strident, damaged variety of feminists who believe that the main, possibly even only value placed on women is youth and beauty. Yet you seem to believe the same thing, albeit with a different focus.

The Labour MP for Rotherham (you wouldn't think they would still vote Labour, would you?), Sarah Champion, is getting some stick for also using "people who menstruate".

One comment - "I could never vote Labour while women are being betrayed like this" - what about 1400 raped girls, if you want betrayal?

But if she is concerned with the pseudo-science of ‘biological sex isn’t real’, surely she should be concerned with young women surgically mutilating themselves to reach for a delusion. If she really was about empathy.

Here is the article from devex:
    https://www.devex.com/news/sponsored/opinion-creating-a-more-equal-post-covid-19-world-for-people-who-menstruate-97312

Using the phrase "people who menstruate" actually makes more sense than just "women" in that context (given the existence of post-menopausal women). My personal preference would be "women who menstruate" (which is what I suspect JK Rowling meant).

An estimated 1.8 billion girls, women, and gender non-binary persons menstruate, and this has not stopped because of the pandemic. They still require menstrual materials, safe access to toilets, soap, water, and private spaces in the face of lockdown living conditions that have eliminated privacy for many populations.

I'm actually kind of curious how the Woke should feel about this.

More significantly, what do orthodox jewish men do about all this? Avoiding menstruators is quite important to them.

Attractive young women and the rest of us.

    Hmmm

So maybe Whiskey and the other 40 year old virgin wimp nerd loser MEN OF UNZ who endlessly post how much they hate White women are really repressed gays.

They desperately want to be slim pretty young White women but don’t have the hundreds of thousands dollars necessary for the operation.

Plus life long expense of plastic surgery liposuction hair plugs face and neck lifts hand wrinkle removal and maintenance needed turn Whiskey and the other misogynist women haters in to become a pretty young White woman.

Since this thread has turned in to the standard we hate White women hate fest by the misogynist women hating MEN OF UNZ how about this woman of UNZ injecting a bit of reality

The only reason the National Felony League and other black ball players are so wealthy and famous is because White men like the MEN OF UNZ watch them on TV and even drive miles and pay for tickets and parking to watch the thugs running around.

So acknowledge your culpability in making these thugs billionaires. Get down on your knees and apologize to White women and the few White men who aren’t race traitors for creating these billionaire ball playing blacks.

Then get your fat asses off your couches and play some sports or do something useful instead of spending weekends worshiping at the shrine of black sports.

    Replies: @Alden

They aren’t cut off you ignoramus The flesh is scraped out and the resulting tube of skin is inverted up into the groin.

If you’re going to talk about them, at least find out what’s done to turn them into failed attempt women.

Face it misogynist White women hating MEN OF UNZ. The vast, vast majority of people who undergo transgender surgery are naturally born men. That says something about men. I don’t quite know what.

It’s men who are changing into women. That’s MEN, like the MEN OF UNZ. And they don’t do it because White women told them to. They did it because they wanted to become women And spent lots of time money and effort doing it.

Notice though that her positions are mediated by her intense resentment of men and paranoia about male violence. (Possibly mediated by her former attraction to men like her first husband who physically abused her but whom she still married and had a child with)

She doesn't say a word about FtM who are a cohort significant in the Harry Potter online fandom. That's the cohort that is growing fastest with the most tragic results in terms of them starting from an early age as a coping mechanism for BPD. They are also the cohort most likely to transition as adolescents and whose care you are prohibited from critiquing.

While obviously not every Harry Potter fan is FtM, EVERY FtM is a hardcore Harry Potter fan. Yet she is silent on them.

    paranoia about male violence

Putting males in female locker rooms, shelters, prisons etc. etc. (especially these “Jessica” Yaniv-style MtF perverts who are absolutely hellbent on taking their play-acting as lesbians far enough to get easy access to those spaces and the females within them) doesn’t bode well for the females’ safety. It’s a fact of life, not paranoia.

First bloke to get trans surgery in Britain was a Spitfire pilot and racecar driver, in line with your suggestion that trannies tend to be masculine men before going trans:

FYM is a concept only for the non-greedy.

On my mother’s side I had some older family members that did well in the JFK/MM era and bought stock, and got largely out of it before the high fliers imploded. They had made enough money that they could live modestly on the interest, having paid off their houses. In the late sixties and early seventies their corporate employers started to jerk them around so they took early retirement or in one case simply quit cold turkey. They were able to buy into tax free muni’s at insane returns in the Jiminy Carter era and wound up taking lesser paying but stress free jobs for “bait and beer money” and insurance, or started hobby-businesses of their own, and died fat and happy. But they all said they would have made more staying put: it just wasn’t worth the grief.

Human nature is if you have X, you want 2x, and so forth. It’s just a number over a certain amount. But they want that number.

Me, I’d be happy with two, three million conservatively invested giving me enough cash out to live as I do and maybe buy a few nice toys. But if I had that, I might want more. At some point though I’d like to think enough is enough.
