Has carjacking returned as a common crime during this year’s George Floyd Mourning Process?
Here in L.A., carjacking was a plague during the 1990s crack years. But it seemed like it had been mostly stamped out in this century. But lately I’ve been hearing about carjackings on genteel Ventura Blvd.
It is definitely back in New Orleans. From Fox8:
CRIMETRACKER: Carjackings spike in New Orleans 106 percent
By Natasha Robin | November 11, 2020 at 5:30 PM CST
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – On Tuesday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m., someone carjacked an 84-year-old woman in a parking lot off of Crowder Boulevard. Police say the gunman threatened to shoot her and then pushed her to the ground before taking off in her vehicle.
A few hours later, someone carjacked another woman in the 2100 block of Florida Avenue. It’s the latest incidents in a spike of carjackings. According to city data, carjackings are up 106 percent this year compared to last.
Monday afternoon, a mother was carjacked in a busy Mid-City neighborhood while she was trying to put her young son in his booster seat. The victim says they were carjacked at gunpoint in the parking lot of an office where her son goes to therapy on Bienville near Carrollton. …
“There were 32 reported carjackings versus 3 in the month of October the year before, so that’s more than a 960 percent increase,” Goyeneche said.
Goyeneche believes the alarming rate of carjackings is a reflection of changing crime trends.
“Last summer, it was primarily auto burglaries, but now it’s evolving into carjackings,” Goyeneche said.
He says police attacked the auto burglary problem, but he believes the criminals have changed strategies. Carjackings, though, are much more serious.
Normalizing masked men walking down the street hasn’t helped in the fight against crime.
Carjacking is also way up in Minneapolis, the home of the George Floyd Mourning Process. From the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, a vivid article by Liz Sawyer:
Increase in carjackings and robberies roils Twin Cities
“It’s open season out there,” one victim says.
By Liz Sawyer Star Tribune NOVEMBER 2, 2020 — 4:00PM… Police say suspects tend to approach victims on the street, sidewalk or parking lot — often while they’re distracted with routine tasks. A significant number of armed stickups have targeted seniors and unaccompanied women at their vehicles on Minneapolis’ South Side.
“You should be able to unload groceries out of your car without fear,” said Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder, noting that the department responded to the increase in carjackings by adding investigators to the team handling auto thefts.
Over the past five weeks, police have logged more than 63 carjackings in the city. MPD didn’t specifically track this type of crime until Sept. 22 because they were so infrequent. Previous cases fell under the larger umbrella of aggravated robberies and auto theft. The agency created a new coding system after the summer months yielded an unusually high number of attacks.
“These suspects have been known to ask for directions, then rob the victim of a purse, phone or car,” read an MPD crime alert issued last week in the Third Precinct. It advised residents to be aware of their surroundings and carry only essentials.
Another recent alert, in the neighboring Fifth Precinct, noted that the encounters involve suspects wearing masks and happen so quickly that it’s often challenging for witnesses to describe the assailants.
In a persistent wave of robberies since mid-July, a taxi driver was shot and killed after confronting two men breaking into his cab. A father of two was dragged a short distance when he tried to stop a man from stealing his vehicle with his wife and child inside. Juvenile suspects incapacitated motorists with chemical irritants in back-to-back Labor Day carjackings. Thieves stole the running car of a Domino’s driver — along with two handguns stashed inside — as he approached a St. Paul residence to deliver pizza Tuesday night. And Wednesday, teenagers followed a St. Paul woman into her open garage and ripped her from the driver’s seat by her hair as she talked on the phone with her mother.
The spree comes amid a nearly unprecedented spike in violent crime, particularly shootings, since the May 25 killing of George Floyd in police custody and the civil unrest that followed.
Fed up, citizens are flooding social media to warn their neighbors, encouraging one another to arm themselves or, at the very least, to buy security cameras and small GPS trackers for their keys.
Some lamented that their pleas for help have been largely drowned out by news of the day, including calls for police reform and the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
Steve Taylor, facilitator of the popular Uptown Crime Facebook page, is working to develop a registry of local victims, many who say they feel abandoned by elected leaders and fear an officer shortage has emboldened criminals.
“[The City] Council wants to blame the police. Police want to blame the council,” Taylor said. “No one wants to take responsibility.”
Meanwhile, victims are left to deal with the trauma of the assaults on their own. By the time the 72-year-old woman sought medical treatment for her injuries last month, the robbers had racked up more than $1,000 in charges on her credit cards.
Twelve hours later, three teenage boys riding in her car struck a tree while trying to elude police through the North Side. They all died at the scene.
“It’s sad that this is what kids are resorting to,” she told the Star Tribune. “Somewhere along the line, someone failed them.”
‘No disincentive’
As a Minneapolis man approached his Uptown apartment late one Saturday night in August, three teenagers swarmed him outside the door. They pressed a handgun into the back of his head and showered him in Mace, stripping his wallet and car keys before speeding off in his Mercedes.
They led police on an early morning chase from St. Paul to north Minneapolis, where they were later arrested. The attackers were just 12 and 13 years old.
One of the boys’ mothers apologized for his behavior and told KARE 11 that she’s struggled to find resources for her son, who’s had repeated run-ins with law enforcement.
“I raised my son good,” she said, “but when he gets around other kids that have dysfunctional households … my son wants to kick it with the misfits.”
Authorities attribute some of the behavior to increased poverty brought on by the coronavirus and a lack of stability at home. Without in-person schooling and organized sports — which provide regular meals and exposure to positive role models — teens are more likely to succumb to the allure of street life, police say.
Ramsey County Undersheriff Mike Martin criticized juvenile detention alternatives that are reluctant to keep teens jailed overnight, noting that investigators occasionally chase the same suspects multiple times in the same night.
“There’s no disincentive,” Martin said. “They would be out before [officers] got done writing the reports.”
‘Women do not feel safe’
Susie Passons had just thrown the car in park, made an appointment on her phone and stepped out of the vehicle in the Linden Hills neighborhood, when four teenagers surrounded her.
The group shoved Passons to the ground, then pilfered her cellphone, bag and car — all in under a minute, before a bystander chased them off.
Ten minutes later, officers spotted her stolen black Audi less than 2 miles away, at a reported robbery outside a nail salon. The car has yet to be recovered.
Since the Oct. 23 attack, Passons has struggled to sleep and suffered flashbacks. For the first time in her life, she contemplated buying a gun.
“Today, women do not feel safe in Minneapolis,” she said. “Our once thriving city has become an utterly frightening place to live.”

It’s a mystery why this is happening. Doubtless it’s the fault of racist patriarchs like Trump, who encourage criminal behavior. Fortunately for the media and BLM there are still a lot of other white guys out there to blame.
And Minnesota still votes blue.

Carjacking went “away” because back in the early nineties, there was a short-lived moral panic over it that led to passage of a bill that made it a federal crime. Democrats, who still had what appeared to be solid Congressional majorities but were still fighting it out for the Presidency, and who were still sensitive about their “soft on crime” image from the 1960s, passed that bill in 1992. This was the same impulse that got Bill Clinton to return to Arkansas during the 1992 election to approve the execution of a mentally-retarded murderer and spurred Democrats to pass the 1994 crime bill Joe Biden got so much grief over. After passage of that bill, carjacking as a discrete crime unconnected to other criminal activity receded basically into a game mechanic in the Grand Theft Auto video game series.
Fast forward 28 years, the word is out that the heat is off over serious crime like carjacking and so forth, and any sort of “tough on crime” policies are in a bad odor. Crooks aren’t always as dumb as they appear. They know the difference between maybe five to ten years for plain old robbery under state law and at least fifteen years with no parole under federal law.
Also, the media has worked hard over the past six months to conflate motorists speeding away from an apparently threatening situation with James Alex Fields’ activities in Charlottesville in August 2017, so that has probably discouraged some people from stepping on the gas when they really should.
Let's get real here.
Ricky Ray Rector was not mentally retarded, he had brain damage as a result of shooting himself in the head in a failed suicide attempt after he had killed two people.
It’s never gone away in Chicago, at least according to Second City Cop.
Through Oct. 3, there had been 914 carjackings in Chicago this year, more than double the number seen through the same date in 2019 and the most the city has seen in that period since 2003, according to the city’s online crime data. Out of the Chicago Police Department’s 22 patrol districts, 16 have seen carjackings more than double so far in 2020, and in part of the North Side they have quadrupled.
Brendan Deenihan, the Chicago Police Department’s chief of detectives, said carjackings already were up by 64% through April compared with last year. But he noted the increase only became greater as 2020 progressed, particularly amid the chaos as civil unrest spread throughout the city following Floyd’s death.
“The numbers are extremely high,” Deenihan said in a Tribune interview Tuesday. “Since really the beginning of June and then through July and August when the civil unrest started the carjackings really spiked out of control.”

I live in at the end of a dead-end road ten miles from the nearest Section 8 housing. It’s rare that a strange car comes up our road. Foolishly, we’d gotten in the habit of leaving the car keys under the seat of the unlocked car parked in the driveway. One night it was stolen. Two days later it turned up–it had been flipped over and totaled. Because it had been recovered upside down, there were all sorts of personal effects left behind by the fleeing thieves. One was an iPhone on which I was able to bring up the owner’s Facebook page. I turned it over to the police, whom I later learned from our insurance company made no effort to investigate the crime. After all, no one was hurt and it was covered by insurance.
A police officer told me it’s become very common for teens to prowl suburban neighborhoods in the wee hours. One will drive along slowly and let out others who go into driveways, check to see if cars are unlocked, and if so, take from them whatever they can sell. If there are keys in the car, they’ll steal it. If it’s a quality car, like a Mercedes, they’ll take it to a place they can hide it. In my state, you are issued two license plates, but are only required to have one on the rear, so the thieves will look for a parked car of a similar make, model and color, steal the plate off the front of it and put it on the one they stole. Its owner may never even notice it’s gone. They then rent these cars out. If a cop runs the plate, he’ll see it matches the car–he normally wouldn’t check the Vehicle Identification Number.
The cop told me he’ll sometimes respond to a call from someone who sees a car prowling down his street and letting out teens. By the time he gets there, it’s always long gone. In one case where he found the “mother ship” crashed, he could hear his report coming out of the crashed car as he called it in. It was equipped with a police scanner, as he assumed all probably were.

If the main motivation for the crime is to take the person’s wallet and phone, joyride for an hour and crash it into a tree they probably are more concerned with finding a soft target or minimizing witnesses than maximizing the black market resale value of the car they steal.
I read only the portion of the story Steve excerpted, but the only mention of the word “black” I noticed was the description of Susie Passons’s car as a “stolen black Audi.” If any of the mentioned miscreants were white, I’m sure the Minneapolis Star-Tribune would have found a way to let its readers know that a “white street gang” was suspected in one or more of the incidents.
Minnesota Nice, huh? Getting a Concealed Carry permit looks better and better every day.
Hurricane Katrina drove a lot of lower-class blacks out of New Orleans to Houston. That likely helped the crime rate. In New Orleans, I mean, not in Houston.
VERY close to the NASA facility in New Orleans East....NOLA East when i was growing up was a semi nice mixed race lower middle class area.....mostly white.
Katrina did a number to it though. Lots of abandoned buildings and like and many of the thugs and crackheads sauntered that way post storm because gentrification in the old areas pushed them to the now abandoned eastern areas off the 10 freeway.
This is unusual for this area....im guessing these are bored bangers who somehow found their way to the suburbs & did this on a whim....theyll be caught within a week. NOLA is a dangerous city. I live on the North Shore....and even this area has gone to hell....
It’s up in Chicago. Whenever you hear of 13 yr old criminals you know they’re black. They’re precocious in this regard. They get a sense that they can get away with crime and they’ll do it. Blacks are just so depressingly predictable. However, there’ll be calls to do more to serve these disadvantaged yoots as nothing is ever their fault. Just send mo’ money.
I think many urban liberal whites realized long ago the 1964 Civil Rights Act was the ultimate “Chinese Finger Trap” of Congressional legislation. The more racist and open you are about it, the more blacks and media shaming you’ll receive to “solve” your racism. You have to be so anti-racist that rich people move next to you and drive blacks away (inadvertently) with high property taxes. If you try to go the Southern segregationist path with state rights, personal self respect, and German Shepards; the more your gonna lose.

Racism is not that desireable, but it is the appropriate response to the disease known as black DNA. Reduce the amopunt of black DNA in the host (white popeulation) and eventually the response (racism) is no longer needed.

Back in ’94 some crackhead tried to carjack me when I refused to buy a dimebag of weed off him. It was totally insane. He wouldn’t let me close the car door and then when I got out to try to get him to back off he circled around and jumped into the driver’s seat while my girlfriend was in the passenger seat and the keys were in the ignition.
I ended up kicking him in the face, and when he fell down on the pavement and stopped moving I freaked out and was about to drive away, but an onlooker convinced me to call an ambulance. He came to just when the cops/ambulance got there and couldn’t remember what had happened.

Nathan Glazer’s Revenge. Glazer was perhaps the ne plus ultra of old school neocons, symbolized by nothing so much, at least when it came to domestic issues, as his opposition to affirmative action in college admissions.
So it was a bit of a sensation when, I think around 1997, Glazer reversed himself and came out in favor of affirmative action on the pretty based/race realist grounds that blacks had no chance of competing at the elite college level based strictly on their own talent and so a compensating “thumb on the scale” in their favor was necessary lest they be completely shut out of elite education and careers and so grow ever more radicalized.
Well, 2020 is the first year when a bunch of entitled, mediocre black babies who have lived their entire lives in a society committed to their undeserved advancement finally left college and stepped into the real world, often landing jobs at media outlets where they quickly demonstrated a knack for browbeating and cajoling their weak white male nominal bosses into adopting a 24/7 Afrocentric/woke party line, none of which could have happened without that “thumb on the scale” which so many “well meaning” people of all political stripes decided way back then was the common-sense compromise to stave off racial radicalization. I’ve asked before, but how do we live when more than 50% of the population’s non-White, and dysgenic reproduction has degraded both people and non-Whites below today’s low average?
In the 90’s, Whites were a very solid majority, and even some big cities like New York managed to come back from the brink of being cold Haiti. Everyone says that Whites will be less less than half the population in 2040, or whenever. That’s not an end-point when we reach a stable equilibrium. Whites will keep dying faster than we’re being born. How will political band-aids work, or even be possible, when the Democrats can’t lose elections?
The average age of Whites will be quite high, and we’ll be trying to run an economy with a workforce with an average IQ of 90 or so. There is almost no way around a poorer future. I don’t mean like the economy will grow at 1.75% annually instead of 2%. I mean our real economic output per capital will decline significantly.
Our quality of life will decline even faster than that. Housing prices will have to decline in real terms. The pro-man class will simply not be able to skim as much from a ‘vibrant’ economy, so there won’t be enough real wealth or hope of a future booming economy to maintain housing prices. Speaking of future booms, how will we have the ‘jobs of the future’ with a workforce that could not make C’s in algebra no matter how hard they tried, and don’t have the endowments from genes nor their culture to try very hard in an intellectual project, seriously, 2040 is 20 years away, the thirteen year-olds of today are only half White. Less than that when excluding non-White kids of mud sharks. They will be thirty-three then, and entering prime working years. They can’t do algebra or pass earth science now. Do you really think they’ll be robotics engineers then? Maybe the NAM ones will be doing unskilled service jobs for White and Asian high-skilled workers, but black males can’t even do that very well.
How does Steve’s citizenism work when these carjackers’ gene pool constitute more than half of our fellow citizens?

Carjackers shoud be shot dead by the car owners or executed if arrested. We are too soft on crime. Maybe if they are teens they should be whipped/lashed in public like Saudi Arabia/middle east or SEAsia, and given at least 10-20 years jail terms.
IMO, if somebody brandishes or points a firearm at somebody, the death penalty should immediately be a consideration in that person sentencing, whether there is any injury or discharge during the offence.
What’s the point? Joyriding? Stripping for parts, i.e, organized crime or chop shops? It seems like a really dumb crime, risk-reward-wise.

Listen, Reg, you know I appreciate almost all your comments - the regular commentary, the hilarious photo essays, the letter arrangements (what's the right term for that?), and most especially your recent elucidation of the US Constitution to commenters and readers (even me) who don't get it. That's especially important regarding what's going on with election-'20.
However, you have a blind spot about the South, and I imagine it's because you haven't spent much time there. I could tell you all sorts of stories and anecdotes, but the gist of it is that there is a friendliness in the South that is not seen elsewhere. Even with race relations having been purposefully charged up by the Lyin' Press and those great food-spittering "Black Leaders" like Jesse Jackson, people try to talk and get along.
Though relations were cordial before the Civil Rites/Integration era, I would say the mid-1970s to as late as 1990 were a good era. Though trying to remain separate in schooling, housing, and church (the latter still to this day), there was no strict color lines anymore, yet blacks had not yet had enough time to think they deserved the world from the white man. Whites did not cuck out to black in the South of the 1970s I can tell you.
Before the Lyin' Press told us so, the Rebel Flag was just a symbol of the South, and both black and white people were proud to be Southerners. I can remember seeing at least one Rebel Flag front license plate on a black teenager's muscle car, this one a Chevelle or Nova - I can't tell the diff, but it did have a bright color scheme! (Some things never change, like the blacks and the bright colors - white kids drank Coke or RC, and the black kids wanted the Fanta Orange or Grape - back to the cars, see "Oh, you're one of those "you ever notice?" guys.".)

How much of a problem is Muslim crime in large German cities? I’ve heard that there are various immigrant (Turkish, Arab, Albanian) gangs and mafias that operate in Germany’s major cities. Also, they harass German women a lot.
What’s your view?
In Germany, things are a bit different. In quite a few German cities, there are Muslim gangs, which dominate in certain parts of the city and the police are often helpless and clueless (Duisburg, Essen, Berlin). The problem is too complex then and unsolvable. So these Muslim gangs/families prosper. 70% of the dinners ordered in Berlin youth prison is, according to Thilo Sarrazin, who has still insider connections, - halal. But - Boris Palmer, a prominent member of the Green Party has just written the foreword of a critical book about the German police, written by Norbert Zerr, a German expert for such questions. One of his points: That many policemen in Germany, frustrated by the ignorance of Muslim crime of German officials, lean towards the right-wing AfD. That the prominent Green Party politician Boris Palmer did support this book anyway is - one of the biggest and clearest signs of political hope that there is right now in Germany.Replies: @Reg Cæsar

It's rare that a strange car comes up our road. Foolishly, we'd gotten in the habit of leaving the car keys under the seat of the unlocked car parked in the driveway. One night it was stolen. Two days later it turned up--it had been flipped over and totaled. Because it had been recovered upside down, there were all sorts of personal effects left behind by the fleeing thieves. One was an iPhone on which I was able to bring up the owner's Facebook page. I turned it over to the police, whom I later learned from our insurance company made no effort to investigate the crime. After all, no one was hurt and it was covered by insurance.A police officer told me it's become very common for teens to prowl suburban neighborhoods in the wee hours. One will drive along slowly and let out others who go into driveways, check to see if cars are unlocked, and if so, take from them whatever they can sell. If there are keys in the car, they'll steal it. If it's a quality car, like a Mercedes, they'll take it to a place they can hide it. In my state, you are issued two license plates, but are only required to have one on the rear, so the thieves will look for a parked car of a similar make, model and color, steal the plate off the front of it and put it on the one they stole. Its owner may never even notice it's gone. They then rent these cars out. If a cop runs the plate, he'll see it matches the car--he normally wouldn't check the Vehicle Identification Number. The cop told me he'll sometimes respond to a call from someone who sees a car prowling down his street and letting out teens. By the time he gets there, it's always long gone. In one case where he found the "mother ship" crashed, he could hear his report coming out of the crashed car as he called it in. It was equipped with a police scanner, as he assumed all probably were.Replies: @PhysicistDave, @Hibernian, @Sam Malone, @Ganderson

To be precise, what I said about the Freakonomics abortion-cut-crime theory is that the actual history of the 1980s-1990s wasn’t what Levitt said in 1999 that it ought to have been. This was due to the enormous impact of crack cocaine: blacks born in the years immediately following the legalization of abortion in 1969-1973 had the highest youth murder rates of all time, the opposite of what his theory of the past predicted.
Levitt should have looked up what the actual history was before making his prediction about what it must have been. Instead he only looked at two data points, 1985 and 1997 and assumed that history moved in a straight line in between. In reality, the murder rate for 14-24 year olds skyrocketed from 1985 to the early 1990s, then dropped like a rock after 1994.
But it could be that in other times and places, Levitt’s theory would be right.

Gas stations can be really dangerous. A woman was killed at one near my house when a fool drove through the station to avoid the light and hit her as she was pumping gas. Another time I was at a gas station and a huge sign that was swinging in the wind came loose and crashed near me. If it has a convenience store and is in a sketchy area there is a good chance you will be approached by panhandlers or criminals, especially at night. If you go into the convenience store you my find yourself in a robbery situation or get run over as you return to your car. Morons hang out at these places. I have even seen “bikers” standing around dramatically miring their rides while holding a big gulp. Then, off for a roaring muffler display as they putt loudly around the neighborhood before returning to the convenience store. Also not unusual to get challenged by some 7-11 badass when you just want to get gas and leave. Assess the situation if you ever think about pulling into one of these places and put yourself behind some barrier so an out of control vehicle doesn’t hit you. If there is a bus stop nearby avoid it completely.
Some suburbs are denying new 7-11s because of the problems they cause.

I took a couple of cab rides thru New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward in 2007 and it looked very post-apocalyptic. On the other hand, the Garden District on a 72 degree day in Spring looked superb.
There has been an epidemic of it here in Chicago since the rioting first took place; the other place you can read about carjacking and much more is the public safety report, CWB Chicago. But I witnessed two carjackings myself in 2018, so it must have already been increasing. With the first one, I didn’t realize what was going on. The second one was remarkably similar; I think a lot of the men that do this can’t really drive. Both of these happened in Near North, and I think that was considered somewhat unusual then. It certainly isn’t now.
But my ward voted for O’ Brien (for IL state’s attorney). I wish more people had. If your area was pummeled by rioting and looting, it was not in your interest to retain the incumbent.

Just as homicide is probably by far the most accurately tracked violent crime, car theft would be the most accurate property crime statistic. From the Washington Post, Oct. 4, 2020:
“Carjackings have spiked in the District, and one was captured on Facebook Live”
[ . . . ]
“D.C. police said Anagaw was one of 10 victims of carjackings or attempted carjackings since Sept. 25, attacks that occurred in Southeast, Northeast and Northwest Washington.”
[ . . . ]
“Authorities in the District have attributed the increase in vehicular thefts in part to the pandemic and proliferation of service delivery drivers. Police said they too often leave their cars unattended and running and are frequent targets. Police said some of those stolen vehicles have been later linked to violent crimes.
“Police say 2,300 vehicles have been stolen so far this year in the District, up 44 percent from this time in 2019.”

What caused violent crime to drop so dramatically after 1994 [or 1992] if it wasn’t due to fewer unwanted children attaining majority?

Seems like you can argue this any way you like
Might be that whole "putting violent criminal actors in prison for a long time" concept.

Not true. I have seen you bad-mouth the South and Southerners in general many times on here and your bit about cucking out by eating the food is right above.
Listen, Reg, you know I appreciate almost all your comments – the regular commentary, the hilarious photo essays, the letter arrangements (what’s the right term for that?), and most especially your recent elucidation of the US Constitution to commenters and readers (even me) who don’t get it. That’s especially important regarding what’s going on with election-’20.
However, you have a blind spot about the South, and I imagine it’s because you haven’t spent much time there. I could tell you all sorts of stories and anecdotes, but the gist of it is that there is a friendliness in the South that is not seen elsewhere. Even with race relations having been purposefully charged up by the Lyin’ Press and those great food-spittering “Black Leaders” like Jesse Jackson, people try to talk and get along.
Before the Lyin’ Press told us so, the Rebel Flag was just a symbol of the South, and both black and white people were proud to be Southerners. I can remember seeing at least one Rebel Flag front license plate on a black teenager’s muscle car, this one a Chevelle or Nova – I can’t tell the diff, but it did have a bright color scheme! (Some things never change, like the blacks and the bright colors – white kids drank Coke or RC, and the black kids wanted the Fanta Orange or Grape – back to the cars, see “Oh, you’re one of those “you ever notice?” guys.”.)
I’m gonna write even more, so stand by.
(Some of them even let the mammies nurse their white babies. Ewww...)Jesse Jackson once greeted me in an airport-- "How ya doin'?" We were both waiting, and bored. He kept his phlegm to himself. I’d imagine my chances are REALLY good actually. Most black gangstas are cheap as hell. They often use High Point brand pistols with steel ammo, a big no-no for self-respecting gun owners.
(Apparently the quality is so bad that the ATF will allow you to order them to your house without a FFL license or background check.)
I’m supposed to feel empathy for a bunch virtue signalling liberals in Minneapolis?
This sounds like a case of you reap what you sow.
But, of course, it’s all YTs fault. All that Privilege, ya knowz.
I have a sense that not it’s become common for the police to not bother investigating car theft. When there’s no assault involved, and the car is covered by insurance, they regard it as close to a victimless crime. Perhaps I’m exaggerating, but I believe it’s a low priority. See the famous scene in The Big Lebowski.
It’s called empathy. In many humans it is an emotion (or an attitude) that trumps fear and its offspring, hate. In this fallen world of ours, sh*t happens and it turns a lot of people into dangerous a**holes. I work on being grateful that I’m not like these punks, so screwed up that I want to do hateful, vicious things that disgrace myself and bring shame on my people. Doesn’t change a thing in the world, just makes it easier for me to be at peace with my own fallen nature, which wants to blindly strike out just as much as anyone else does.

You’re a good Constitutionalist, Reg, so I know you know this: You may have a lot of problems with the reasoning of the Southern States in their seceding from the Union, but you ought to be the first to admit that they had every right to do so. Nowhere in the document does it say the various States can’t leave. I’m just referring to your comments in which you have this big pro-Union side in the War of Northern Aggression.
To get back to my point on the last comment (cause this is pretty disjointed), let’s talk about the spitting in the food. Most regular people, black or white, just plain don’t do that sort of thing. In the South of old, people got along pretty damn well. No one expected a black waiter or cook to spit in his food, as that would be outrageous, something only a guy like Jesse Jackson would do*.
There is a lot more animosity now. With all admonitions to get off the fast food and eat healthy taken to heart, still, the times that people get pissed off about their orders and the often worthless cashiers make you think hey, if every time some dude at a restaurant gets mad at a customer, he spits in the food or worse, we really do have pretty tough digestive systems. I think we do.
You seem to blame Southerners for all the racial problems. No doubt in the world, if the plantation owners 200 to 400 years ago hadn’t had the demand for cheap-labor cotton-pickers from Africa, this country would still be a hell of a thing. Your people up North didn’t help yourselves one bit later on, though. They wanted the factory labor during WWII, and then your Socialism in Snowflake land in particular has been a magnet for the people discussed in this post. To top THAT off, your nice Lutheran men and ladies have been importing black people from the horn of Africa, just to be nice!
In my post “Snowflakes come in infinite shapes and sizes”, I mentioned a guy who was no scrawny snowflake, but a big solid guy. Right there in your Great White North, with me as the only passenger in the van with him, he flaked out when I even mentioned that people in Minneapolis better start watching out for some of these thugs (this was summer ’19, well before the latest Saint Floyd stuff), as there had been an abduction of a young lady there. What’d the guy do? After we had been conversing about all manner of things, he just clammed up like a cowardly snowflake about it.
Not all Southerners had slave-importing ancestors (and they are just ancestors, after all), and not all of you Minnesotans are welfare Socialists and nice Lutheran snowflake ladies. Yes, I’m referring to you, Reg!
.
* BTW, I got my chance to put in my digs on that guy the best I could one time when he was around my workplace. I wish I could say more, as one part was really ironic – hilarious, in fact. To keep my job, I could only go so far. Another time, Al Shapton and I were alone on a jetbridge at the Detroit airport. There were no cameras, and I thought later that perhaps I should have just kicked his ass right then and there. However, that’s not who I am, and I wasn’t 100% sure about the cameras…

Although the MSM intent is vile, the conflation is appropriate. Fields was the victim of a carefully orchestrated legal lynching, conducted under the auspices of Democrat office holders in Virginia, Albemarle County, and Virginia. In fact Fields was also attempting to get away from a band of antifa thugs when his car struck the woman he has been convicted of murdering. His sentence alone – nearly 500 years for a crime for which a more typical offender usually serves an effective sentence of less than fifteen years – should suggest as much.

I think it was a Vietnamese guy. That general area of the city has a fair amount of Vietnamese people.
My White privilege means that I know no negroes. None. If a negro approaches me, it gets a warning first – unless it’s within 20 feet, in which case I draw my Glock 29 and order it to keep its distance. The former has occurred perhaps a dozen times – the latter, only once. Looking down the barrel of a gun is one thing even an IQ-80 negro can understand.
The rule is simple – around blacks, never relax.
Contemplating buying a gun for the first time in 2020 is like contemplating buying a computer for the first time. You’re about 25 years late.
BTW, I tend to view these, “I was attacked so I’m buying a gun,” type gun owners with some degree of skepticism. They generally aren’t people who anticipate future possibilities very well, so I wish them luck with their next attack…and hope they don’t kill any innocent bystanders. I suspect that they’re often people who view a gun as a sort of magic talisman (as the tactical guys phrase it) to keep away evil spirits rather than a very lethal and idiosyncratic tool that has to be trained with in order to be used effectively. Not always the case, but all too often is.

J’Amos and J’Andy’s unintentionally funny dialogue aside, if you count on a Hi Point jamming, you may in for a tragic surprise. They can be very reliable and accurate guns. Probably not with those ridiculous extended mags, though. It’s my understanding that some aftermarket mags will void the warranty of many Hi Point firearms.
When they first came up he was standing behind his truck, so he had some cover. He could have drawn and fired on the guy with the AK, and then moved on to the others. They probably wouldn’t even aim. I’m not saying it would have worked out for guy, but then again, the thing could have ended up with them shooting him in the head while he was lying prone on the ground.

Yes, Vietnamese in that area.
New Orleans East was was a white working class area. Until at least the mid1980’s, most neighborhoods were safe enough for young children to roam around. But it was rapidly declining long before Katrina.
Daniel Amneus timed the beginning of the crime wave as fifteen years after welfare payments were extended to the unmarried. He carried the ball after Moynihan benched himself.
The victim is Vietnamese.
What caused violent crime to drop so dramatically after 1994 [or 1992] if it wasn’t due to fewer unwanted children attaining majority?

No, it’s silent. And there’s that putting-down-rebellions clause, which either side could use. It’s murky. Blame Madison.
That’s why Brexit is peaceful and we went to war. I am a moderate on secession– it’s a right, but not an absolute one– and maintain that young men died because two sets of old men both had good points. The old white men on both sides stabbed their young white men in the back. Just look at the conscription laws they enacted– and their exemptions.
No, I blame race itself. If blacks spit in the white man’s food in 1953, why wouldn’t they have in 1853, or 1753, or 1653? Their genes haven’t morphed. They’re the same people.
Rural “Snowflake land”– five states– turned on socialism bigtime in 1938. (The pig-slop decision.) Only the two with big cities stayed put. My home county in New York rejected its avatar seven times between 1920 and 1944. As did over forty others.
Luther was a heretic himself, so who is surprised? Many in Catholic Charities today are more protestant [sic] than he ever was.

I live in Houston. (or in the suburbs now, but I did live in the city immediately after Katrina)
Not only did the crime rate go up – and I mean way up, and violently – our city and county government started going to hell around the same time because we imported an underclass of dependents and encouraged them to set down roots and establish residency because it made everyone feel better.
And hell, compared to where they came from, Houston was much much better.
You’d think that after Ike and Harvey we might have been able to return the favor and export our underclass off to be someone else’s problem, but alas, they are still here.
Here’s a list: Finland, Belarus, Iceland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, Norway.
Perhaps in Newfoundland Canada, or PEI there.
Fairbanks AK?
Yeah but black gangsta wannabes typically never:
1) Train with their firearm in question nor practice basic shooting techniques.
2) Perform basic gun maintenance such as cleaning and oiling.
3) Go against be people who’ve actually practiced (1) and (2.)
Anyone with decent situational awareness would’ve saw three black youths coming down the street long before they came to the driveway. If you bring in the poor quality of the firearms on top of the other stuff mentioned things start adding in your favor.
Only for a short while. The Houston gangsters and the NO imports had a period of “conflict” and many were killed. NO lost out and many went back.
Also in NO the penalties were much less for similar crimes than in Texas, where you would be locked up for a long time. No Big Easy get out of jail for them.
Also, Texans seem to shoot back more often than in Louisiana.

I am Twin Cities (too), and disagree that no one calls it South Side. It’s not a standard name, but it’s heard frequently enough.

Are you kidding me? Cops are sc-sc-scared of blacks and they know it. That’s why these pieces of trash are walking in a white neighborhood looking for victims. They know they will NEVER be harassed or intimidated by cops for walking in a white neighborhood. You did notice the other two white neighbors trying to help didn’t you? At 48 seconds a white man dressed in white shorts at the house directly across the street runs out of his house then turns around and runs back in and closes his door. Then at 49 seconds a second white man dressed in all white with a white baseball cap comes running also from the far left of the screen from the blue small pickup across the street. The man who was being pistol whipped must have been hollering loudly to have those two come running like they did. In my opinion, after looking at it a few times, I don’t think that they had any bullets in their guns. If that’s the case the victim had a chance at 12 seconds to grab the gun of the tall one dressed in black because the other two would not have been able to get a clear shot (that’s if they did have bullets) at the victim. Of course, that was his only chance. What he should have done at the very least was to be aware of his surroundings, spot the mortal enemies then hightail it inside so that they can victimize someone else. You say, you forgot to say to call the cops and report suspicious persons. Nope. Don’t call the cops. They’ll get mad at you for being a Karen and harass and intimidate you because they are NOT afraid of you.
This is very true, and maybe the most important part of keeping yourself safe from crime.

Newman pointed out your lie about you never slandering white Southerners and you had no response. At least you didn’t lie again though.
As I’ve said here before on this subject: Yes, the Constitution was silent on the question of secession. If it had affirmed that exit was impossible after ratification and would be met with all-out violence, few if any States would have entered in the first place. We know they were reluctant as it was.
So either the States were deceived from the beginning – the Constitution did indeed, as the Union later claimed, trap States in the Union without informing them of this in advance in any way, in which case the Constitution was a non-binding fraud of a contract – or, much more likely, there was at the time of ratification no serious belief or expectation by anyone that the joining States were thereby dissolving their rights to ever resume full sovereignty and instead were subjugating themselves permanently to the new Federal Government.
The States erred gravely in not insisting on a clear provision for secession, but that mistake should not have been fatal. The right to regain their full sovereignty was never disallowed, so the presumption ought to have been in favor of the freedom – not the oppression – of parties that demonstrated overwhelmingly in their legislatures, and when forced to on the battlefield, an unmistakable wish to cancel their membership of the club. The basic spirit of Anglo-Saxon jurisprudence, after all, had always held that that which is not forbidden is permissible.
The original 13 independent States had joined the Union peaceably and entirely of their own volition, so in the absence of any Constitutional language to the contrary the just and natural assumption can only be that they were entitled to exit it when they wished. Founded voluntarily in good faith, the Union instead disgraced itself and proved the secessionists’ every criticism when it revealed in 1861 its belief that it was entitled to keep them from their independence with unprecedented violence and terror rather than obliged to yield to their demands once persuasion had failed.
And no, I’m not a southerner.
What's even worse than silence on secession is the silence on expulsion. Kicking the blacker states out, one by one, would have concentrated everyone's mind.Replies: @Sam Malone

In Switzerland, the police works – and people want it to work. Policemen are highly competent and – proud. Quite good payment – policemen will always be able to lead a middle-class life. It was a guy from the regular Police force in Winterthur, a city near Zürich, who closed a Jihad Mosque on the basis of his own findings – and it stayed closed! Imams have to use the four official Swiss languages, depending on the region the mosque is in. The Muslim crime rate is way above average but under control.

Yep, I was gonna chime in with, “I think there are a couple in Tulsa.” Otherwise watch any other edition of The First 48 & it’s black and Mexican street gangs, all the way down. I agree with you on Tulsa being the best. They definitely seem to have the best homicide unit. Almost all white & dogged as phuck. Maybe not the smartest guys in the world but determined as hell. It was a genuine pleasure watching them do their job. Getting back to the original point, having pointed out there are white gangs in Tulsa, I’d say 75% of Tulsa’s homicide perps are still black.

I agree, I used to call it south Minneapolis.
I lived in Minneapolis 25 years ago and used to visit it 3-5 times a year up until this year. I remember everything south of Lake St. for most part was okay but most everything north was not so-okay (until you got to downtown). Of course I’m not talking about the west part of Lake St. that extends into a nicer area. Chicago Avenue was a cess-pit back then & is apparently still a cess-pit now. Just last year I was enjoying a drink on a roof side bar just east of Lake and Hennepin & I used to visit Merlin’s Rest on the east side of Lake St. at least a couple times a year. Now, even if the covid nonsense drifts away, I just don’t see myself spending any time at all within the city limits of Minneapolis. I used to love to visit the Mpls Institute of Art but now . . . fuck all those white liberals who brought this bullshit on themselves.
I think I like The Truth a whole hell of a lot better than just plain old Truth.

One of the incidents in the Strib story took place in Linden Hills, which is one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. Bad sign. I think the Justine Damond shooting was in Linden Hills as well.
I’m very sad about what’s become of my hometown, which was a great place to grow up.
Grew up in St. Paul, within bicycling distance of the DQ on East Lake. As a nipper ( 4th grade) I’d ride the bus downtown BY MYSELF to get my allergy shots. In college and shortly after lived in various neighborhoods- Uptown, Mac-Groveland, and even the Franklin Ave Indian ghetto. (woo woo, not dot ). Never had a problem.
Most of South Minneapolis East of 36th Ave S is pretty decent-it includes the nice homes along West River Road.
You guys are correct, no one says “south side”, but they do say North side, not to mention the West Bank. And over in St. Paul there’s the North End, the East Side , and the West Side, which oddly enough is directly south of downtown; so called because it’s on the West Bank of the Mississippi.
In 50 years Minneapolis/ St. Paul has gone from being one of the most livable central cities in the country- a few not so great neighborhoods notwithstanding, to just short of Baltimore. Wrecked largely by good intentions.

I found that too when I was looking into this quotation. An interesting read. I guess my point was that no one to my knowledge has translated it as “If God is dead…”
The only “slander” was that you let blacks fool you into thinking they were working all those years. How does extrapolating common thuggish behavior of today (some in my own neighborhood) 400 years back insult white Southerners?
The CSA’s draft which exempted blacks is a matter of historical record. It predated the Union’s similar law, which I’ve also condemned, and just as strongly. White leaders on both sides thought “black lives matter” more than white. That’s race treason.
Dixie’s later vigorous support for the Sixteenth and Eighteenth Amendments and the Red New Deal are also on the record, as is that for every pointless foreign war we’ve gotten ourselves entangled in. I didn’t make any of these atrocities up, the definition of slander.

That might be demographics, but it could also be prudence. Back in the ’70s, my WASP cousin made it his practice to order a kosher meal on flights. It was invariably much better than the standard airline fare.
I could have been more – detailed in order to show, that this is demographics.
Btw. there is this number: 50+% of the immigrants 2015 ff. committed at least one crime – so far.
Btw. II – – The Swiss are making incredible (and very expensive!) efforts to make sure, that close to all kids able to do so are learning something useful at school – and succeed. You thus meet the proud IQ 90 youths working at the municipal gardening crew or at the local supermarket etc. with three more years of training on the job and “crafts-schooling” after 9 years of school, no matter what social background the kid has.
All kids are expected to go to kindergarten, and cognitive training there starts at age 4 with regular screenings by quite a number of professionals, etc.
(I at times wonder why there are not flocks of foreign journalists and experts focussing on this civilizational wonder, really. This would be such a gratifying subject. All it lacks is – you know: Doomsaying potential, pessimism, etc.).
Btw 3 – – – parents, who go on holidays for example (into Lebanon, let’s say) and take their kids with them outside of the official school-holidays – get a ticket. The police show up at their home and they have to pay up to three hundred SFR.
BTW 4 – – – In case parents resist to accept therapy for their kids (even for the little ones) they have to sign a paper at the director’s office which says that if – as a consequence of their kids missing out on the therapy the kid needs serious treatment in the future, they will have to pay for it all by themselves.
We took our children out West in October. The oldest had to log in to online school via motel Wifi, but otherwise we were free. The others learned a lot more on the road than in any classroom. Merci Trains, goats and alpacas, capitol domes, geographic center points, Little House gravesites...This sounded like tyranny, too, at the start, but the introduction of personal responsibility at the end saves it.
I google mapped the crime location….
VERY close to the NASA facility in New Orleans East….NOLA East when i was growing up was a semi nice mixed race lower middle class area…..mostly white.
Katrina did a number to it though. Lots of abandoned buildings and like and many of the thugs and crackheads sauntered that way post storm because gentrification in the old areas pushed them to the now abandoned eastern areas off the 10 freeway.
This is unusual for this area….im guessing these are bored bangers who somehow found their way to the suburbs & did this on a whim….theyll be caught within a week. NOLA is a dangerous city. I live on the North Shore….and even this area has gone to hell….
This strikes Americans as tyranny. In the land of William Tell?
We took our children out West in October. The oldest had to log in to online school via motel Wifi, but otherwise we were free. The others learned a lot more on the road than in any classroom. Merci Trains, goats and alpacas, capitol domes, geographic center points, Little House gravesites…
This sounded like tyranny, too, at the start, but the introduction of personal responsibility at the end saves it.
How much of this is being done by Somalis? For a number of reasons I’d expect them to be better behaved than American blacks; on the other hand, they could be the only blacks in Minneapolis.

My son, when he was 12 years old, could shoot the .44 mag Desert Eagle better than the Glocks we usually shoot. Only thing is that the ammo is generally more expensive and the gun requires more cleaning(gas piston action) than most other pistols so that u can be confident of its reliability.
It’s also bulky and difficult to conceal unless u r wearing heavy clothing.
That being said, IMO, it’s a pretty piece of metal, more for collectors to play with rather than daily carry.
As for the Tavor, I heard that it is better to stick to later models as the trigger on the early models needs some work which is not easy to find.
Two upstate New Yorkers, John Lansing and Robert Yates, stormed out of the Constitutional Convention because they smelled tyranny coming. Alexander Hamilton, who was absent, refused to cast any more votes upon his return because he was the only delegate left.
What’s even worse than silence on secession is the silence on expulsion. Kicking the blacker states out, one by one, would have concentrated everyone’s mind.
The rule is simple - around blacks, never relax.Replies: @William Badwhite
Have you ever been hassled for “brandishing”? The penalties can be pretty serious.
"Officer, this individual was approaching me in a threatening manner and refused to stop. I drew and displayed my lawfully-carried handgun only to stop "his" advance."
No such trouble yet. The one time I had to display my weapon it was just me and the negro on the street. It was actually crossing the street in the middle of the block, ooking that it wanted to talk to me. My biggest mistake was that when I raised my left hand while ordering it to keep its distance, I momentarily blocked my own view of the threat.

You completely avoided the logic of what I said, probably because it’s hard to rebut.
Again, if the States had known in 1788 that they would face years-long campaigns of murder and terror if they ever tried to leave the Union, none of them ever would have joined.
The States voluntarily entered the Union, and the right to regain full sovereignty was never disallowed in the founding contract, so the presumption ought to have been in favor of the freedom – not the oppression – of any parties that later demonstrated an unmistakable wish to leave.
Instead the Union betrayed both the spirit and the letter of the undertaking that created it when it decided – because it was by then strong enough – to drag the exiting States back in through all-out war despite their clear desire to live outside the Union.
