As you may have noticed, the two most pressing social issues of our age are the right of black males to dress, walk, talk, and prowl like criminals without any white person calling them out on their behavior, and the right of black women to have their self-esteem about their beauty constantly fluffed by society.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, age 77, tends to free associate into microphones.

If Joe nominates Stacey Abrams for vice president, will he manage for four long months to never ever say anything that could be read as implying that she is not quite the living quintessence of Black Girl Magic?

  1. Remember when leftists were screaming that financial criminals should never see daylight again? Which is actually reasonable (!?) And now they’re claiming that, unless you physically and immediately cause great bodily harm to someone, even making you pay bail is The New Jim Crow.

Now, there’s the obvious explanation that they thought locking up white collar criminals would result in a load of legacy whites going to prison. And once they realized that, at “best”, it word mean a load of new ethnics (Persians, Armenians etc) getting locked up, they switched tacks.

But a more interesting take is that, goodness, woke politics has worked at its plan of insulating white collar criminals, both official and de facto.

I have a hard time believing Biden's advisors would be so stupid. Perhaps, living in their bubble where you actually believe a bunch of minoritarian bullshit ... it is possible they'll convince themselves it's the bold move and "what America needs to heal" or some such b.s.

All i can do is ... hope.

Biden picking Abrams would be just awesome. Most of what progressives stand for:
    -- minoritarianism
    -- ugliness
    -- irresponsibility
    -- female careerism
    -- female unpleasantness
    -- ugliness
    -- low fertility
    -- pomposity
    -- hectoring
    -- tediousness
    -- ugliness
    -- debt
    -- government employment
    -- blackness
    -- anti-whiteness
    -- ugliness
    in one XXXL package.

    The messaging to whites--awesome!
Especially to the TV-absorbing white women--back of the bus Becky!
But the messaging to Mexicans, Asians--you or your parents or grandparents came to get a piece of America ... this is what it looks like with minoritarianism--is great as well.

Abrams would be a giant rainbow flaggy announcement that America is headed toward being a true a shithole "nation".

(Most people can't or don't naturally reason mathematically so they aren't aware that's what "nation of immigrants" must mean.)

I really don't believe Biden--his advisors--are dumb enough to pick her. But ... keep hope alive!!!

It's very disturbing to me that Trump and Republicans in general have become pro-criminal justice reform in recent years. I originally became a Republican in 1990 when I heard a Democrat criticize Republicans for wanting to build more jails than schools. That criticism backfired on me because the idea of building more prisons was very attractive to me. I also liked that Republicans supported the death penalty back then. Today Republicans are just as weak on crime as Democrats.
  14. If Joe is elected I hope he wears his overcoat during the inauguration and keeps his speech as brief as possible.

Tuberville is an Establicon and a carpetbagger (Florida Man runs for Senate).
    , @Anon
Sessions screwed up in a way that's cost Trump more than three years of hassle and pain, and helped tie up the government and stall all the investigations that should have been carried out on Obama's criminal administration. Sessions should never have recused himself in a million years. He should have realized the left was just trying to screw Trump over and gone to war with the left. Sessions was stupid and inept.

Trump and Sessions are allies, this is theater and misdirection. Trump leads the media around by their noses. Now they'll be all in for Sessions. Trump is intelligent and will understand that Sessions was complying with the law.

What is it you think he did wrong about corona-chan? --Genuine question.
  16. This would further handicap Biden, and they know it.

A fat, loud, ugly, stupid black woman will drive people away from voting D. Especially since everyone knows Creepy Joe is too senile to do anything himself and likely will be hospitalized or die in office. And Abrams is a political loser—the same people cheering for her nod basically think she can someone become a great campaigner nationally when she failed in GA. Its utter stupidity for good seasoned Dem political operative to champion her.

It will be Hillary. I would bet more than a thousand dollars on her being Creepy Joe’s announced VP nod at this point. And, if not, I’d bet double on Hilary taking the nom in a brokered convention she and Perez orchestrate—because of Creepy Joe’s mental health.

    • Agree: sayless
    • Replies: @sayless
Biden will be the nominee and Abrams will be his VP nominee, until he isn't, and then Hillary will magically reappear and take the convention by storm, and Abrams will be her VP buddy. Trump wins by a landslide.

That one-eyed signalling is creepy. Let's see if she gets the blackened left eye, too.
  17. I still wouldn’t be surprised if Klobuchar gets it. The Dems have a long history of picking vp candidates who are bland, white, centrist-presenting career politicians with some connection to flyover country. I don't remember seeing it in the past. It seems to be a new thing - just in the last 10-20 years. It's weird.
  25. Yeah, I don’t think so, basically for the reasons you said.

The NYT can publish a billion think pieces from Black (or other minority) women about “Don’t touch my hair” and all the rest of it, and a number of them might end up talking themselves into the idea that the VP slot is owed to them.

But then Biden can (and likely will) pick Klobuchar or somebody else and take a day’s complaining from the hair harpies. It’s fair cheaper that way than to have Abrams trotted out on the stump every day for 3 or 4 months.

And even then, I think it’s still small potatoes. There’s a Trump PAC flooding the zone on YouTube with ads desperately trying to link China and Biden. In a different situation it could work but not here. This election is not about Biden, not now and probably not in the fall either. Maybe Trump thinks it’s his best shot, maybe it is, but I don’t think so.

This election is about Trump, it’s also about the parties, broadly speaking. Ie, the voters get to pick from the Establishment/Democratic Party/culture makers or the populist/GOP/Trump loyalists.

If anything, I’d go after Andrew Cuomo. “Before the Democrats were forcing nursing homes to take coronavirus patients, I stopped international flights from China.” But in the bigger picture the problem is that Trump can’t manage to utter three sentences without mindless derp, he probably intuits as much himself.

  26. @Hapalong Cassidy

    Sessions is an honorable man.

Maybe too honorable to fight in the political arena of today. When he recused himself regarding the Russia-collusion hoax, perhaps he thought the Democrats were operating in good faith and after a month or so would acknowledge there was nothing to the accusation. If so, he was too naive for the job. Of course, what actually happened was he enabled the Democrats to hobble Trump's presidency from the outset and win back the congress, many swing voters being swayed by the accusation that Trump was colluding with the Russians.

I always liked Sessions but he dealt Trump a terrible blow and I don't blame Trump for holding it against him. And by the way, when Sessions was still AG, he seemed to be bent on protecting the corrupt activities of the DOJ and FBI rather than helping expose them. I don't know what that was all about.
  30. I wonder what the Comeys, McCabes, Strzoks, Pages, Clappers, and Brennans think about Stacy Abrams being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

We need to replace the Deep State, a president Abrams would probably be all to happy to do so……..and give us a minority-dominated-really-anti-white- Deep State.

  31. Stacey Abrams went from 10 cents to 7 cents on Predict.

But Kamala Harris has gone from 32 cents to 35 cents.

Personally, I’d love it if the Democrats went all in with the “blackety black” pandering, especially when paired with the “womyn” pandering . At some point, this has to repulse the 94% of the public that is not a black woman.

Then, there’s Val Demings at 10 cents, who is also a black woman.

So, it looks like there is 52 cents in favor of the VP candidate being a black woman.

More than that. We also have
    Stacey Abrams - 6 cents
    Susan Rice - 5 cents
    Michelle Obama - 3 cents
And more down at 1 cent.

So something like 63 cents if we discount the possibly of it being MO or anyone lower?

BTW, if you click Stats on the graph you can see that Susan Rice had the largest volume (38,396) today by a substantial margin. The next largest was Val Demings (20,032) with all of the rest being 11,000 or lower.

Even if she isn’t. When was the last time the GOP got more than 15% of the black vote? The Republicans shouldn’t waste their time with it.

  49. I try not to be unduly cruel but Stacy Abrams looks to me like nothing so much as an overstuffed golliwog. There’s a saying that “politics is show business for ugly people,” but damn.

    Two related thoughts:

I am pretty sure half Abrams’ appeal to Democrats comes from the tittilation they feel anticipating how they’ll go nuclear on anyone who publicly comments on her appearance. (The other half is her status as the de facto Joan of Arc in the war to make Georgia the first black-run state.)

How can the more serious and sober-minded Democratic campaign strategists’ heads not explode avoiding saying out loud what they have to expect a significant chunk of the electorate is going to think about having Stacy Abrams a 77 year-old heartbeat away from the Presidency? Does anybody really want to see that mug on the news every day?

It’s very disturbing to me that Trump and Republicans in general have become pro-criminal justice reform in recent years.

Having seen the War of Drugs personally and professionally, the criminal justice model doesn't work any better than Prohibition did.It would objectively be better to spend most of that money on rehab and treatment. In that sense, Trump is not wrong to try to change some of that. Prisons for people who's issues are substance abuse are very expensive and don't address the problem. Rehab is not cheap, but certainly cheaper than prison. The tradeoff is people will still die from hard drugs, but that's the case already.

    Agree.

Biden picking an obnoxious black woman who reminds them of their least favorite aunt might get Trump 30% of the black male vote.
  52. As you may have noticed, the two most pressing social issues of our age are the right of black males to dress, walk, talk, and prowl like criminals without any white person calling them out on their behavior, and the right of black women to have their self-esteem about their beauty constantly fluffed by society.

That’s funny, I would have thought one of them was the complete loss of American civil liberties due to the international Coronahoax.

This would further handicap Biden, and they know it.

A fat, loud, ugly, stupid black woman will drive people away from voting D. Especially since everyone knows Creepy Joe is too senile to do anything himself and likely will be hospitalized or die in office. And Abrams is a political loser---the same people cheering for her nod basically think she can someone become a great campaigner nationally when she failed in GA. Its utter stupidity for good seasoned Dem political operative to champion her.

It will be Hillary. I would bet more than a thousand dollars on her being Creepy Joe's announced VP nod at this point. And, if not, I'd bet double on Hilary taking the nom in a brokered convention she and Perez orchestrate---because of Creepy Joe's mental health.

Biden will be the nominee and Abrams will be his VP nominee, until he isn’t, and then Hillary will magically reappear and take the convention by storm, and Abrams will be her VP buddy. Trump wins by a landslide.

That one-eyed signalling is creepy. Let’s see if she gets the blackened left eye, too.

Indeed. It's kind of fun watching all of the MSM idiots be baited yet again. Sort of like Trump just did with his revelation that he is daily dosing with hydroxycloroquine and zinc as prophylaxis, and just when the MSM was visibly pivoting to insisting that the lockdowns must continue until - and no sooner than - a vaccine is available. It threw them off of their game, and now they are circling their wagons around insisting that HCQ/Zn is a right wing plot to tamper with our precious bodily fluids, and kill people outright.

But, still not as effectively as the Democrats did by sticking infected individuals into nursing homes and rehabilitation hospitals to, get this, clear hospital space for the inevitable tsunami of virus sufferers, only to generate a real tsunami of dead oldsters and invalids. NY, NJ, PA governors are all having to deal with this growing revelation of how bad their failures to protect the most vulnerable populations really were. So, to distract from that contribution to the death count that that was (silver lining - easier to exacerbate the panic, facilitating the power grab, and the compliance with degradation of rights), double down, hell, triple down on lockdowns to show how serious they are to protect us. This after their lack of actual proficiency in protecting those most vulnerable was on public view; can't have that, can we, so summon the flying monkeys of the MSM to obfuscate the facts.

And speaking of complying with the law, how about honoring the fundamental law, the Constitution? Some commenters want Trump to have overridden the Constitution by ignoring the role of the states in our federal system, confusing the President's role as Commander in Chief of the military with some sort of role as Boss of Us All. No, the states and the citizens, as stated in the 9th and 10th Amendments, the final two of the Bill of Rights, are entitled to those powers not expressly granted to the Federal government, and President Trump stood down from those powers other than those of the Chief Magistrate.

That the Democrats, and far too many of the Republicucks have these mistaken notions speaks to how far down the path of Caesarism we have already traveled. Elect Biden, shove him out of the way via the 25th Amendment, and what is then to stop us from traveling all of the way to that outcome? Not bloody much, eh? So it is no laughing matter that this play is being very openly implemented. Result? Think Adolph Whitmer on steroids. Don't say that you were not warned.
    , @Thea
I admit that the media would have pilloried him anyway but... he should have focused on the fact that Americans have overcome hardships before and that together we will overcome this. Promoting weird ‘cures’ and mocking people who were worried about the disease (including many of his supporters) allowed them to paint him as immature.

Just a calm steady reassurance and acknowledgment “yes it is devastating but we as a people are strong enough” People actually like the idea of hardship- it can make them feel heroic. He punted his ability to show firm leadership and the ability of people to come together in hardship under him.

I agree. Contemplating an activist or radical black woman running mate for Biden is wasted mental energy at this point. Klobuchar is the most logical choice. Remember, the Democratic party has hated and halted the potent candidacy of a radical socialist twice now. They don't want any more drama. Kamala Harris sucked big time as a candidate. Stacey will suck even more, and they want to win.

Progressives of influence and affluence are (with regards to principle) very similar in the aggregate as they are as individuals. In other words, they preach a principle, they don't live it; unless you're black, you don't actually live in the interracial neighborhoods that you promote for others. So while you might pander to the simplistic black racial-end-result mentality (there need to be as many black scientists, engineers and vice presidents as there are white) you're not going to allow that principle to help you lose another election to Adolf Trump. In terms of principles, you're a transient.

Personally, I'd love it if the Democrats went all in with the "blackety black" pandering, especially when paired with the "womyn" pandering . At some point, this has to repulse the 94% of the public that is not a black woman.

Then, there's Val Demings at 10 cents, who is also a black woman.

So, it looks like there is 52 cents in favor of the VP candidate being a black woman.

More than that. We also have
    Stacey Abrams – 6 cents

    Michelle Obama – 3 cents
And more down at 1 cent.

So something like 63 cents if we discount the possibly of it being MO or anyone lower?

    Agree.

Biden picking an obnoxious black woman who reminds them of their least favorite aunt might get Trump 30% of the black male vote.

Sessions was a loyal guy who was in over his head at DOJ, and got rolled by the Deep State which handicapped DJT’s administration for three years.

Most Senators, unlike governors, have never run anything bigger than a Senate office which is why they do poorly in executive positions.

That said, DJT should have kept his mouth shut.

  83. @AnotherDad

Since my most fervent hope at this point is one giant conflagration, I’m hoping he does choose her. But will he remember what he did the next day? Will it matter?

I really don’t believe Biden–his advisors–are dumb enough to pick her.

I agree. Contemplating an activist or radical black woman running mate for Biden is wasted mental energy at this point. Klobuchar is the most logical choice. Remember, the Democratic party has hated and halted the potent candidacy of a radical socialist twice now. They don’t want any more drama. Kamala Harris sucked big time as a candidate. Stacey will suck even more, and they want to win.

Progressives of influence and affluence are (with regards to principle) very similar in the aggregate as they are as individuals. In other words, they preach a principle, they don’t live it; unless you’re black, you don’t actually live in the interracial neighborhoods that you promote for others. So while you might pander to the simplistic black racial-end-result mentality (there need to be as many black scientists, engineers and vice presidents as there are white) you’re not going to allow that principle to help you lose another election to Adolf Trump. In terms of principles, you’re a transient.

  84. I thought Nancy Pelosi was on the warpath body shaming those “morbidly obese” politicians in DC?

Does Stacy get a pass? Type II diabetes is directly correlated to obesity and the black population has very bad health stats on that as a result. Also COVID-19 deaths.

So, if I understand Queen Nancy, thinness at age 90 with more Botox than an tarantula is a good thing; morbidly obese President is bad. What about Stacy?

Will Botox make her thinner? Does Nancy not care about the health of POC?

  85. @Mr. Anon
I don't know if it's Trump being senile or him just being his old petulant, blowhard self. In any event, it's despicable. Sessions was one of the few people who was loyal to the Trump agenda (and consequently, to those who supported Trump right from the beginning). Sessions is an honorable man. Tuberville is an Establicon and a carpetbagger (Florida Man runs for Senate).

Of course, what actually happened was he enabled the Democrats to hobble Trump’s presidency from the outset and win back the congress, many swing voters being swayed by the accusation that Trump was colluding with the Russians.

I always liked Sessions but he dealt Trump a terrible blow and I don’t blame Trump for holding it against him. And by the way, when Sessions was still AG, he seemed to be bent on protecting the corrupt activities of the DOJ and FBI rather than helping expose them. I don’t know what that was all about.

Trump and Sessions are allies, this is theater and misdirection. Trump leads the media around by their noses. Now they'll be all in for Sessions. Trump is intelligent and will understand that Sessions was complying with the law.

What is it you think he did wrong about corona-chan? --Genuine question.

Indeed. It’s kind of fun watching all of the MSM idiots be baited yet again. Sort of like Trump just did with his revelation that he is daily dosing with hydroxycloroquine and zinc as prophylaxis, and just when the MSM was visibly pivoting to insisting that the lockdowns must continue until – and no sooner than – a vaccine is available.

So, to distract from that contribution to the death count that that was (silver lining – easier to exacerbate the panic, facilitating the power grab, and the compliance with degradation of rights), double down, hell, triple down on lockdowns to show how serious they are to protect us. This after their lack of actual proficiency in protecting those most vulnerable was on public view; can’t have that, can we, so summon the flying monkeys of the MSM to obfuscate the facts.

And speaking of complying with the law, how about honoring the fundamental law, the Constitution? Some commenters want Trump to have overridden the Constitution by ignoring the role of the states in our federal system, confusing the President’s role as Commander in Chief of the military with some sort of role as Boss of Us All.

Don’t say that you were not warned.

I admit that the media would have pilloried him anyway but… he should have focused on the fact that Americans have overcome hardships before and that together we will overcome this.

It would have been very unusual for a devout black couple from the deep South, who were Methodist ministers with graduate degrees in theology, to have given their children modern ghetto names.
