Of course, the reason the US women’s basketball team always wins is because over the last quarter of a century, the deep-pocketed U.S. Establishment, such as the NBA and Nike, has managed to make women’s basketball surprisingly unpopular around the world, outside of Russia and Turkey. This year’s opponent in the Olympic finals was, bizarrely, the home team of Japan, a naturally short nation.
Back in the 1990s, the Lisa Leslie Era, it was assumed that women’s basketball was the next big thing. It would make an interesting Harvard Business School case study of why that didn’t happen.
Perhaps the US women’s soccer team will manage to follow the path of the US women’s basketball team?

Anybody interested in watching sports played at the highest level aren’t going to be watching women – especially large, dyke-ish looking women. Tennis, maybe.
How much of the disinterest for women’s athletics is when women train full bore like men do they lose a lot of their femininity, while men train full bore they gain in masculinity? Your mentioning of tennis is instructive: On the one hand you have the Williams “sisters”, and on the other hand you can have very feminine looking women, especially from Eastern Europe. As a man, who would you rather watch play some sets of tennis?
Then take that to our current Women’s Soccer team (which lost to Canada and took them down yet another peg), or Women’s Basketball. I was struck watching a short clip of Women’s Swimming from the Olympics that after all their training and conditioning when they were in their swim caps, goggles, and speed suits, they looked very androgynous. No primary or secondary signals they were a woman. My first thought was “Those are women?!?”
Men are visual creatures, our blessing and curse. If you play a sport where you and your competitors look like the Amazonians from “Futurama” (“IT TIME SNU-SNU!!”) you’re probably not going to get a lot of male attention.

We can watch ugly, surly guys play ball and stick sports any time.
I bet they didn’t have to wear bikini-briefs while playing.
There’s been a push in the UK to normalise a number of UK sports, like US football (which gets TV coverage, basketball (there’s a pro UK league, don’t know who funds it).
Women’s soccer is pretty (relatively) popular worldwide, unlike basketball, so I can’t see basketball style dominance.
When I say relatively, I know guys in their late 60s who are still playing veterans 6-a-side football, and all my sons still play – I played cricket til ten years ago – but very few UK women play anything bar tennis and a bit of hockey beyond teenage years, when sport at school is compulsory.
Normal (or good-) looking women can play sports like soccer and tennis, but pro basketball requires tall people, and very, very tall women are usually inherently unattractive. Women's basketball can be fine for cultivating a certain number of role models for girls, but the idea of its ever naturally drawing a mass audience is preposterous, in a way that a mass audience for women's tennis or beach volleyball is not.
If there was a secret agreement among the WNBA and the owners and the coaches and recruiters to have a height restriction that topped out at say 5'9", then women's basketball might have a chance. I would have maybe paid to see Rebecca Romijn or Xena Warrior Princess play it in her prime, but beyond that... but a bunch of normal-size cuties bouncing around in tank tops getting all sweaty, you might make it work with a height restriction. But that'll never happen, because it would involve admitting the obvious, and the Prime Directive in Current Year is: Thou Shalt Never Admit the Obvious.Replies: @AnotherDad, @Ola

The left now realizes they have an entire generation of sports addicts. They continually push the boundaries further and further. The spirts announcers and talk shows rationalize the “issues” so they’re easier to digest for their consumers while giving them talking points: it’s their right to kneel even though I don’t like it, sports help bring us together, those players are on a big platform and they need to use their voice to talk about the issues…
Now you see whole professional sports leagues taking political stances. Look at the MLB switching venues for the All-Star game over a rather mundane policy that got ratcheted up by the MSM and Democrats. Now we have the NFL with rainbow flags painted in the end zone, and the NBA seems to be a full on subsidiary of black lives matter … and none of this deters the hardcore addicts that have been created the past few decades.
Expect the agenda to get even more absurd as they really start to enforce the dogma.
How has Nike and the NBA made women’s basketball unpopular around the world? More like it was naturally unpopular and the establishment was simply unable to change that.
It’s not really popular here except in a few states in the Midwest. Like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.
There was a point where women's college ball seemed poised for a breakout, with UConn, Pat Summit's Tennessee teams, Muffett (or Muffin?) McGraw with the Irish and C. Women’s tennis isn’t the highest level either. Pretty sure any good male club pro could take Serena in straight sets.
The reason that women's tennis is reasonably popular is that there are many slim, attractive women in short skirts who look nice on TV when playing tennis. The second reason is that, on television, most people really can't see the huge difference in ability when it's just women playing women.
Women's basketball never takes off because 1) the women are unattractive and masculinized, 2) any guy who plays/played basketball can see how poorly women play, and 3) everything about basketball is scaled to male ability, especially the height of the basket.
Women are particularly bad at the style of play adopted by the NBA and most colleges, namely, the emphasis on spontaneous play creation. Women would do better if everyone liked their basketball more like football, with more set plays; women can practice and execute plays endlessly.Replies: @Buffalo Joe, @Reg Cæsar

Off topic . Democrat California Governor recall election coming soon. Ballots printed. Front page article in the lying LATimes. Democrat politicians horrified. Seems the ballots are so complicated their beloved POC Democrats can’t read the ballot. Too bad so sad.
As everyone who follows tennis (or remembers the discussion here), and as others have noted, it's established fact (e.g., Karsten Braasch) that no top WTA player could touch any male player probably inside the top 700 in the world. McEnroe knows more about tennis than practically anyone on the planet and that's his guess.
But the idea that a 'good male club' player could beat Serena (or any other top WTA player) is just plain stupid. You obviously know nothing of the sport and the level of USTA play. I happen to know a couple of ex-WTA players (including one Grand Slam champion) and even though they're long out of competitive play, they take 5.0 guys out routinely, so long as they are past their 30s. Current D1 players, probably no way.
Anyone near Cincinnati in the next weeks or Indian Wells in October who really wants to see the level of both the men and the women, get out there to the practice courts and watch. The men are superhuman; the women will take your breath away with how hard they can hit the ball.
(I don't know if the Williams' are included in the latter group.)

The average women’s pro tennis player over the last 20-30 is much better looking than any Olympic level women’s basketball player. The WTA spent time and resources trying to promote attractive women in their sport in order to increase interest with some success. There have still been some women like Serena Williams and Amelie Mauresmo which fit more of the stereotype you describe. The WNBA went all in on marketing the sport to lesbians and then were baffled why no one else wanted to watch it. The quality of play compared to men’s game is also terrible.
No one wants to watch gangly unattractive females play 3rd-rate basketball, except others in that cohort, woke sportswriters, and little kids who don’t know any better. They are the trust-fund babies of sports, and would disappear if not for big daddy’s money propping them up.
It’s almost as if the rest of the world doesn’t want to operate at the the same standards of political correctness as America does. I’m not at all certain Harvard Business School could figure out a damn thing about the “business model”, as the Harvard Business School itself operates under the same standards of political correctness.
Here’s an idea: Talk to some American potential non-viewers to find out why they don’t care about women’s sports unless the women are hot and wearing bikini briefs.
Harvard Business School may find out that most Americans don’t care about a women’s BB gold medal either, when it comes down to it. That’s not just being anti-female because men are best at almost all sports. Many of us don’t want men’s Communist Kickball foisted on us either.
Political Correctness doesn’t sell by itself. The population must be forced to buy.
I’ll bite: How did the US Est. make it unpopular overseas?
Basketball is universally popular in the United States. Just go into any Suburban subdivision and you will see basketball goals over garage doors or at the curbside weighted down with a water-filled base.
Basketball is nowhere as beloved anywhere else in the world, where kids are more likely to kick around a tennis ball in the street to develop soccer skills.
So no surprise that the USA men’s and women’s teams win, especially since the USA college system provides the only significant competitive league for female basketball players. Elsewhere in the world nobody is going to pay admission to watch women playing basketball, or even want to watch it on TV.
Not quite.

With the continued evisceration of the White middle-class, and considering the cost of carting young Olivia around with those traveling teams, I could easily see a severe contraction in women’s soccer. I don’t foresee young Mexican girls taking soccer seriously.
"When Mexico played against Denmark in the 1971 Women's World Cup final, over 100,000 showed up at Estadio Azteca. Likewise, when Mexico played Argentina in a playoff game to qualify for the 1999 Women's World Cup, over 70,000 fans were in attendance."
Women's soccer is becoming increasingly popular around the world. It is probably just a matter of time until the USWNT sinks down into the same mediocre level as the American men. It does help that female soccer players tend to be far more attractive than female basketball players (or softball players). Even the lesbians tend to be "lipstick lesbians".Replies: @Neuday
Our Mexican boys' teams at all age groups kicked ass against the white kids and the Asians. My team lost exactly one game against a white team. It wasn't uncommon for the boys' teams to sweep sectionals at all age groups.
Meanwhile, our Mexican girls' teams got their ass handed to them. Mexican culture is a lot more traditional than white culture is. Girls are expected to be more feminine, and playing sports just is not as much of a girl thing as it is a boy thing.
And frankly, I don't blame them. I can't think of a bigger waste of time than patronizing second-rate athletic achievement because it's performed by women. They'd better be good-looking if I'm going to waste my time with it.Replies: @Steve Sailer, @Anonymous

Female team sports are a mystery to me. It’s hard to estimate a numerical figure for how much worse they are, but if women individually do at least 11% less in sports, the compounded effects of a whole team team of slower and less dexterous women makes a women’s team game like 30% less athletically impressive than a professional men’s game.
I will watch women race, even though they are slower. I will watch them in sports I would never want to see a man bother with (rhythmic gymnastics and the like). But i can’t understand how anyone anywhere is interested in watching them play a game where their combined lack of speed, coordination and strategy makes it comparable to an elite high school match of boys. And who is out there trying to watch high school championships if you haven’t got a high schooler in the sport?
The bottom line is that women are admired for their beauty, men for their prowess. Nobody really cares about female prowess, except maybe at pole-dancing, and the market for male beauty has certain patrolled boundaries. Even female prowess at things like gymnastics and figure-skating is circumscribed by how cute they all look doing it.
Normal (or good-) looking women can play sports like soccer and tennis, but pro basketball requires tall people, and very, very tall women are usually inherently unattractive. Women’s basketball can be fine for cultivating a certain number of role models for girls, but the idea of its ever naturally drawing a mass audience is preposterous, in a way that a mass audience for women’s tennis or beach volleyball is not.

Interest in female team sports completely baffles me for this reason. I know many middle age men who continue to play the sport they grew up playing in amateur leagues for fun. But with adult women, getting them to play sports they once excelled at is like pulling teeth. Have you ever had an office league that required at least a few women in a team? Try getting women who were elite players in their high school or college to play on it- I’ve yet to see any with enthusiasm for this.
Women clearly don’t have much innate drive for these sports, but I see so many parents pouring endless resources getting their little daughters to play in competitive leagues. They pay for special coaches and special training and make them practice for hours and hours day after day. What is wrong with these people? Why pressure their girl to fixate on these sports that she will never bother with a day after she graduates school? Why not let the girl spend her time on something she genuinely values?
I think women’s bodies are amazing and beautiful, and I am happy to appreciate those amazing beautiful bodies flipping in the air or twirling on the ice, but watching a narrow shoulder with a small hand weakly pitch a ball is plain silliness.
There's been a major cultural shift to make team sports "popular" among girls. Most girls will gravitate to what is popular, no matter what it is.
There are many exceptions. But I don't think girls get the same joy out of playing competitive team games as boys. It often seems they are going through the motions. Mimicking whatever society wants them to be doing.
But if they aren't captain of their high school soccer team, however will they make it into the Ivies?

Right!
You don’t have to watch too much women’s basketball to see that the speed, athleticism, and dynamics of the sport are just not even close to a decent boys HS squad.
Women’s soccer at least has the advantage of a fair number of its players being attractive women with figures the average male sports fan can appreciate. The WNBA’s typical player, not so much.
Sports Illustrated had an issue earlier this year that insisted that the WNBA is actually great basketball that any true sports fan should appreciate, and if not you are some kind of cretin. But all the gaslighting in the world isn’t going to get this sport to the point where it generates more than a fraction of the interest and revenue of any other men’s sport.
Women’s Tennis seems to understand reality, that it’s fine for women to engage in sport, but men need something more to enjoy if they are going to watch performances that are not top level. Perhaps the WNBA would be more successful if they allowed hair pulling and had a mud pit at center court.
What a pathetic advert.
Me too. ( I don’t care for sports in general, not just women’s). Can anyone give a HBS style case?

Fixed that. Play basketball outside on a soccer-sized court. The length and breadth of the court consist of fewer feet than football fields or pitches have yards. Pro hoops games are barely longer than soccer halves, with countless stoppages and substitutions.
Lengthen the game in all four dimensions. 12' baskets, 360' x 220', for two unbroken 60-minute halves. See how the bruthas handle that!Replies: @Achmed E. Newman, @Anon7

I agree. I’m not even interested in women’s competitive team sports where the women are at least moderately attractive.
For me, I prefer to watch women perform rehearsed routines- gymnastics, synchronized swimming, equestrian etc. Though no hate to men’s gymnastics. They are amazing athletes whose sport emphasizes different skills than women’s gymnastics.
I will happily tolerate women’s sports in a basic race of almost any kind- swimming, running, skiiing etc. There is something pleasant about watching a lwoman’s lithe body slide down a ski slope, even if a man is much faster.
I occasionally grudgingly tolerate a one on one competition between women like in tennis. Though Badminton is better for women is better because it looks more elegant. If the strategic style of these games becomes sufficiently different than it is for men’s games, then it is like watching a different but not totally inferior sport.
But I find no use for women’s team sports where they directly compete with another team. That is invariably like watching a high school boys game of the same sport. I’m not even interested in women’s beach volleyball.
I also have no interest in women’s sports that depend on significant upper body strength like weightlifting or rowing.
I feel that in a sane world, we would look at women’s sports where the performance gap is more than 15% and drop institutional support for these sports and instead accept that women’s bodies are particularly poorly suited for those endeavors.

Women's soccer at least has the advantage of a fair number of its players being attractive women with figures the average male sports fan can appreciate. The WNBA's typical player, not so much.
Sports Illustrated had an issue earlier this year that insisted that the WNBA is actually great basketball that any true sports fan should appreciate, and if not you are some kind of cretin. But all the gaslighting in the world isn't going to get this sport to the point where it generates more than a fraction of the interest and revenue of any other men's sport.Replies: @Spangel226, @TWS, @Buffalo Joe
Women’s basketball does not really improve after college. It peaks in high school. I enjoyed watching my girls play.
What's happened to the word "lesbian"? I've heard "gay women" a few times in the last few years - often in relation to soccer or b-ball - and it strikes me as weird.Replies: @BB753, @Gary in Gramercy, @AnotherGuessModel, @NickG
“Gay women” is inclusive toward gynecophile transwomen playing in women’s sports.
People can actually enjoy watching women’s sport if the sport is established, the athletes have acquired status and there are stakes. But perhaps it takes something else to get people interested in women’s sports in the first place, and the bottom line is that female basketball players are mostly ugly and look like dykes.
*****Meghan Rapinoe being a notable exception. She is a walking billboard for the dyke look and is loving every minute her fame.
Netball seems somewhat popular among women as a pastime.
No idea if there a lesbian contingent but regular married/working women seem to be involved.
Professional sports are part of the entertainment industry and the different branches sink or swim depending on the interest and disposable income of any audience. As like with all industrial ‘products’ you can’t conjure up a ‘demand’ for anything not wanted.
It’s good for society when people try to keep fit and exercise, and if it take some role models from professional sports to get us to do sports in our communities, that’s fine.
But many sports have a martial history and duplicating explicit male martial contests for female contestants are wrong. Its a sickness in our culture that we ‘want’ this.
Interesting question for market researchers: what’s the sweet spot? How much lesbian is too lesbian? How much black girl magic is too much black girl magic? How much mediocre playing is too much mediocre playing? How woke is too woke? I don’t think any one of these factors individually will drive off an audience, but the WNBA’s combination of these factors is just about unbearable.
I bet the WNBA and the networks know exactly what is wrong, but are too afraid to tell the players to tone it down.
There’s something about basketball that is relatively ill-suited to women, that makes the women’s game seem awkward in a manner not encountered with other sports such as soccer and tennis. Even women’s boxing and MMA look less unnatural than basketball. It’s more than just basketball’s emphasis on height. Women seem to do better with basketball variants such as netball and the 6 on 6 version once popular in the Midwest.
-- quickness
-- speed
-- height
-- jumping ability
-- spatial sense
And in all those things there is solid male advantage. So you combine them the gap just gets more and more ridiculous as you move up toward elite levels.
I'm a pretty mediocre basketball player--white man can't jump. My skills were pretty much limited to being a good shot and having excellent spatial awareness--getting better players the ball in opportune circumstances. (Most female college basketball players are better than i ever was.) But like anyone else who's played a lot, i've played with a lot of guys--guys who were just really good HS players, not D1 scholarship material--who would outmatch professional women. Their height plus quickness just superb. (And i played one time with an NBA player--Dale Ellis--LOL.)
Football (American football)--where physical strength is even more in the mix--would be even more lopsided played head-to-head. But women only play it powder-puff, for fun and/or charity. No pretense of taking it as serious athletics.Replies: @Anonymous
Actual lesbians, particularly those insufficiently attractive to "sell the brand," are increasingly identifying as "pansexual," "polysexual" or "omnisexual." They pretend to swing both ways, but it's a ruse: they're usually in no danger of being objectified by the male gaze. (Celebrity exception: women like Demi Lovato identifying as "pansexual" to get favorable publicity for otherwise flagging careers. It works -- otherwise, I would never have heard of her.)Replies: @El Dato, @Paperback Writer
Lesbians are an endangered species! How will the gay ecosystem survive?
Pretty sure the WNBA and women’s pro soccer has (or had) free admission. And still no one went other than their families and friends.
Same as higher education: more intensive recruitment; lower admission standards.
Since women’s sports in the U.S. is much more of a college/high school resume building thing than a path to the pros, the demographics of women’s sports in very different. Women’s basketball seems to be the only sport that is dominated by black women. At the college levels soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, swimming and even bowling are dominated by white women. Field Hockey and Lacrosse are dominated by the prep school upper middle class whites. Softball and volleyball seem to be dominated by middle class and upper middle class suburban white families. Bowling at the college level seems to be the sport where blue collar women have a chance at a partial college scholarship.
Women seem to have real problems with the pull up jump shot. Women never look fluid in trying to make a pull up jump shot versus a more set shot or a low post move.
Yep, you’re absolutely spot on. And the main reason why women’s basketball was never the “next big thing” is that it took a hard turn towards lesbianism from the very beginning in the mid 90s. While women in other pro sports such as tennis and golf at least embraced and marketed their femininity and sex appeal, the WNBA downplayed those aspects of their athletes. I’m sure there was at least one attractive WNBA player over the years, but I just can’t think of her based upon appearances in the media. It seems as if the WNBA mandated that their players dress and act like men, with all the baggy uniforms and thuggish behavior. I was not inclined to watch an inferior product (women playing basketball???), but if I were to watch it, I would need to at least see women who were easy on the eyes. The WNBA has consistently failed to offer that.
It’s not really popular here except in a few states in the Midwest. Like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.Replies: @Known Fact, @Achmed E. Newman, @Corvinus, @meh

Sounds like in England the teachers give high marks for neat work. In America it’s called the portfolio. The black kids notebooks can be completely blank and untouched or a scribbled mess. But whatever mess a black kid produces, it gets a 95 to 100 percent grade. Averaged in with the 40 to 30 percent grades they get on the tests, it comes to 70 or a solid C. 50 percent paperwork 50 percent test scores is the norm in America. And the portfolio paperwork of the blacks is always perfect.
America is in the process of dumping the college entrance exams completely. The only criteria is race. So clever Whites just check the black box and write a sob story essay about My Struggle.Replies: @YetAnotherAnon
You can watch a women’s tennis match with interest, even if you aren’t lusting after them. Sure, none of them could defeat a top 1000 men’s professional, or even take a set off of them, but matched up with another female, it is an interesting battle and lower skill level isn’t all that noticeable. However, when one watches and compares men’s basketball to women’s basketball, the difference in skill is just too damned obvious- the women’s game, even against other women is just awful. I doubt the US national women’s team could defeat a single high school boys team from any metropolitan area of the US.

Alas, Corvinus, you have failed to the negate Mr. Sailer’s central point. Just because there are a handful of women’s professional leagues around the world doesn’t mean the sport is popular. Heck, there are even professional badminton and croquet leagues in existence, but no one in his right mind would argue those sports are popular.
Face it, women’s basketball is not popular in this country and, broadly speaking, the entire world. But for the NBA putting in massive of sums of money to the WNBA (male guilt?), that league would’ve failed years ago. No one, other than lesbians and the parents of the players, is remotely interested in women’s basketball.
No, his central point, which he did not even provide any proof whatsoever, was that "the NBA and Nike has managed to make women’s basketball surprisingly unpopular around the world, outside of Russia and Turkey". The fact of the matter is that this sport is more popular than you or Mr. Sailer care to admit.

Women’s tennis was only worth watching when women like Chris Evert, Steffi Graff, or Martina Hingis were playing. They didn’t have to all look like Maria Sharapova, but the BJ King, Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams’ were not going to be worth it, no matter how good they were.

In our suburban town, essentially all of the girls are pushed into soccer or lacrosse. So many girls play lacrosse that my oldest daughter (11), who has no real interest in the game, now wants to play. She wants to be with the popular crowd.
There’s been a major cultural shift to make team sports “popular” among girls. Most girls will gravitate to what is popular, no matter what it is.
There are many exceptions. But I don’t think girls get the same joy out of playing competitive team games as boys. It often seems they are going through the motions. Mimicking whatever society wants them to be doing.
women playing basketball has never been popular. one of the left’s few failed campaigns has been to make big ugly clumsy ogre women playing hoops something that people want to watch. even worse, lots of the players are open homosexuals. by now leftists seem to have settled for WNBA simply existing on NBA money, and they’re about done with the promotional push. as far as i can tell, most of the national team players were homos married to other women.
conversely, without any sort of real promotional campaign at all and just jamming it into existing shows, UFC has created minor interest in women clumsily punching each other in the face and wrestling around on the ground awkwardly. basically the least interesting and most objectionable sport women could be engaged in, short of olympic lifting or throwing shotputs and discus.
note that UFC deliberately does not let the big ogre women into the show – this is very much on purpose. that would drive away most of the small interest they’ve been able to generate. no 200 pound giant fat wrestler or judo women who would easily thrash any of their star women are ever allowed to compete. this is important in creating stars in the first place. otherwise Rousey would have just been squashed by some ogre and that would have been that. no PPV or ticket sales then. before UFC yielded to women, other minor league promotions did stuff like the Gina Carano thing, where they kept her away from the ogre women for as long as possible, to generate interest for a few extra sales.
If it makes you feel better I find soccer to be English cultural imperialism. It’s bad enough that NBC devotes precious hours on Sunday to broadcasting Limey kickball. Even the World Cup, which I find mildly interesting, is always presented through an English lens–the announcers are English, the studio analysis is probably 50% English. When ESPN tried using Dave O’Brien a decade ago the pushback was immense–how dare an American network use an American to announce soccer. Yes this really happened.
I suspect 98% of this pushback was from British trolls overseas and Limey expats living in America. Their need for control is incredibly pitiful, but they’re loud and relentless and they got their way–ESPN removed O’Brien in favor of some Brit named Clive, I think. Thank god I cut the cord.

We need to see more women doing this challenge.
Here we go again.
As everyone who follows tennis (or remembers the discussion here), and as others have noted, it’s established fact (e.g., Karsten Braasch) that no top WTA player could touch any male player probably inside the top 700 in the world. McEnroe knows more about tennis than practically anyone on the planet and that’s his guess.
But the idea that a ‘good male club’ player could beat Serena (or any other top WTA player) is just plain stupid. You obviously know nothing of the sport and the level of USTA play. I happen to know a couple of ex-WTA players (including one Grand Slam champion) and even though they’re long out of competitive play, they take 5.0 guys out routinely, so long as they are past their 30s. Current D1 players, probably no way.
Anyone near Cincinnati in the next weeks or Indian Wells in October who really wants to see the level of both the men and the women, get out there to the practice courts and watch. The men are superhuman; the women will take your breath away with how hard they can hit the ball.
I teach MBA students. Once upon a time a major college women’s basketball grad (who played with WNBA players in college) passed through my class and did a project on the WNBA. Her diagnosis was that the WNBA, being short season and not enough money to live on for most players, is basically something the players just play for fun. They make their livings in the winter, in Russia or Turkey. Given that, the quality of play is less than it should be and older elite players are increasingly skipping it.
Her suggestion was that the WNBA play full seasons in non-NBA markets so they could pay the players enough to live on. Don’t know how feasible that is (didn’t work for the ABL in the 90s), but the numbers she presented didn’t seem crazy.
Stephen Curry figured out a long time ago that he’d be a much more effective shooter by getting open/creating his own space for what are essentially set shots instead of forcing jumpers over defenders. It’s amazing that more players (male or female) haven’t figured this out as well.

Remember what the coach told everyone about shooting in rhythm. Women at the college and pro level cannot seem to shoot in rhythm but have to gather themselves to shoot. When googling womens basketball winning shots, I found a series of off balance desperation shots and were lucky to go in. See Notre Dame Final Four 2018.
The revelations (and interviews with Party faithful, including Congressperson Kathleen Rice) in Ronan Farrow’s New Yorker story make it clear that the Party really wants him gone, and will work obstruction of justice charges into either a criminal prosecution if the statute of limitations has not run (or an impeachment proceeding if it has), are the key to getting him gone.
I still don’t know why the Party went after him in the first place, though. It certainly was not for getting grabby with women or for corruption.

That’s all that really needs to be said. The heart of the matter.
Women’s–survival critical–job is bearing and nursing children. The most prized are the ones who look most capable and fit to do that. But they don’t have to do much for that to happen–men will come knocking (to impregnate them).
Men, on the other hand, must compete to be the guy who gets to do the impregnating.
We aren’t chimps and in the West we have a civilization with lots of productive (and not) niches and that traditionally allows female choice, and bans “winner take all”. So there’s lots of modes of competition. (But you better bring something to the table!) Athletic prowess is one of those modes of competition. Pretty much the most direct analog to warfare.
It’s those ugly shorts.
The US Women’s Volleyball team has a number of good looking women, and their shorts aren’t half as ugly either. I could be wrong but I don’t think there’s a single lesbian on the team. One member became a mom last year and said she hopes all of her teammates will become moms someday:

Gotta feel sorry for y’all. Women’s college basketball is KING at South Carolina. It is fun to watch. The womens fill up the colosium, the mens don’t.
Note two prominent figures on the Olympic team are from South Carolina. The coach, Dawn Staley, and forward A’ja Wilson.
Wilson is not unattractive. She is a good person (though she temporarily allowed herself to be dragged into an equal pay protest). Staley is a creepy BLM type. BUT . . . she is the best women’s college basketball coach in the universe. By a galaxy.
The only thing conspicuously absent in women’s college basketball is the dunk.
It is freaky to watch a game from Columbia with a packed arena, then a few days later see them out in the SEC with a couple of hundred people in arenas.

“The dynasties of the past (the creators of civilization) pale in significance to the rather unattractive, frequently obnoxious, occasionally sexually deviant, female bouncy ball players of A.D. 2021.”
And everyone has to pretend this is terribly insightful, inspirational, and true.
At least those people clapping for Stalin until the buzzer went off could tell themselves he rallied the troops against an invasion and has a pretty cool uniform.
I participated in a recreational soccer league in Southern California during my middle school years. The league is fully integrated, but in our region, probably 90% of the players were inner city Mexican youths, with a smattering of upscale white kids and almost no blacks. After regional championships, we always sent teams to sectional and state championships, always in LA or Nor Cal, where we played against much whiter and much more Asian opposition.
Our Mexican boys’ teams at all age groups kicked ass against the white kids and the Asians. My team lost exactly one game against a white team. It wasn’t uncommon for the boys’ teams to sweep sectionals at all age groups.
Meanwhile, our Mexican girls’ teams got their ass handed to them. Mexican culture is a lot more traditional than white culture is. Girls are expected to be more feminine, and playing sports just is not as much of a girl thing as it is a boy thing.
And frankly, I don’t blame them. I can’t think of a bigger waste of time than patronizing second-rate athletic achievement because it’s performed by women. They’d better be good-looking if I’m going to waste my time with it.
Basketball rewards:
— quickness
— speed
— height
— jumping ability
— spatial sense
And in all those things there is solid male advantage. So you combine them the gap just gets more and more ridiculous as you move up toward elite levels.
I’m a pretty mediocre basketball player–white man can’t jump. My skills were pretty much limited to being a good shot and having excellent spatial awareness–getting better players the ball in opportune circumstances. (Most female college basketball players are better than i ever was.) But like anyone else who’s played a lot, i’ve played with a lot of guys–guys who were just really good HS players, not D1 scholarship material–who would outmatch professional women. Their height plus quickness just superb. (And i played one time with an NBA player–Dale Ellis–LOL.)
Football (American football)–where physical strength is even more in the mix–would be even more lopsided played head-to-head. But women only play it powder-puff, for fun and/or charity. No pretense of taking it as serious athletics.
What did Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn mean when he said this?
Anything that the woke ad mongers at Nike touches turns to shit. Avoid.
I posited on another blog the following comment to the author:
It's okay to root against them for their "politics" (which seems insufficient, doesn't it, for what' s happening right now? mere politics?).

But if they aren’t captain of their high school soccer team, however will they make it into the Ivies?
I do enjoy women’s softball. Its basically the same as men’s baseball except the baseball is not hit at such high velocity. Women pitchers do, somehow, manage to throw the ball, underhanded at a remarkably high speed and the gals do perform a wonderful simulacrum of baseball once the ball is put in play.
Women’s figure skating is also a joy to behold. OK, it is dancing to music but they do it so well. Does anyone got a problem with a woman showing off on ice?
No, I do not want to see female gorillas weightlifting, shotputting or wrestling. If they want to box, let them compete in their weight class. I’d love to see a 2oolbs bull dyke understand what real domestic violence is all about.
Arch, one problem with girl’s basketball is the team consists of 5 starters and a few back up. That leaves lots of girls with no floor time. Softball, lacrosse, soccer and field hockey have nine, ten or eleven players on the field at one time. A better chance to play at least a little bit. No parent wants to watch their daughter ride the bench.
If this were a penalty kick it would have bounced off the crossbar and hit you in the head. I asked if I was being hyperbolic about the humanity-denying nature of BLM and CRT. Your response is a non sequitur but let me give it some relevance: “who we are as a nation” is just the thing these creeps are successfully dismantling, and you haven’t rooted for “hometown heroes” (these quaint terms! sometimes I cringe to think I’m a boomer too) since little league.

OOSeven, nice comment. Lacrosse and field hockey, at least around here, are fall and spring sports so a girl can play both. I watched the NCAA D-I Women’s lax championship between Syracuse and Boston College (which won). I think there was one black girl on the field. Both sports are usually learned in middle school or HS. Basketball you can learn and play in your yard. Around here lax and field hockey are prep, private and suburban sports. As an aside, the fact that my youngest daughter started on her team as a freshman and then was team co-captain for two years counted big on her college resume. Sports participation, especially if you are a starter, shows dedication to practice and play, another words, you are focused and organized.Colleges really like you to succeed. Stay safe.

There was a lot to be said for ‘home team’ sponsorship. My Little League team was sponsored by Koonz Ford. My father was a GM man but once, after a game, Mr. Koonz took ‘his team’ up to the dealership and gave us ice cream or something. My father had to come pick me up at the dealership and I had enough time to wander around the show room floor to show him the had 1965 Shelby Cobra Mr. Koonz had on display.
I begged my father to buy it. He said it only had two seats. I said so what, you could go twice as fast and drop mom off and come back and pick me up. He wasn’t convinced but decades later I would chastise him. “Dad, remember that Cobra I told you to buy in 1965? What’s that’s Oldsmobile Cutlass you bought in 1967 year worth?”
It’s a short cut to more competitive colleges and “scholarships” (athletiships?). So the entire thing is an artifact of the Title IX laws and will disappear forever as soon as lunatic laws do.
Choosing their daughters rather than their sons so they’d be well-placed to use Affirmative Action as a cover to shut down social mobility was a master stroke.
For men used to watch soccer, women soccer is impossible to watch – too few skills, too many errors. Women, in contrast, are not enough interested in sports. That’s all there is there.
In the USA, pick-up basketball is very popular from mostly White dudes in suburban rec centers to outdoor courts in the ghettos. But outside of organized leagues, high school and college you virtually never see women’s pick-up basketball. Don’t believe me just start walking into non school associated gyms and observing outdoor courts and see for your self.

I don’t think that’s true. I think TPTB wanted to subsidize a dyke sport as “national” and the lesbians chose basketball. Everything else was just window dressing and attempted psyops.
I remember the WNBA folks tried to promote some female basketball stars as “sexy” to men, which was hilarious. One (maybe it was Leslie) did a guest starring role on a UPN black sitcom where the lead black dude ladies man had to pretend to be dumbfounded by her “beauty.” It was a hoot, he was clearly working hard to pretend the WNBA monstrosity was hotter than his cute co-star that he would end up with.
What’s lunatic about them? They’ve served their purpose almost too well. The men who were crowded out by them were exactly the kind of men TPTB couldn’t afford to let compete with their own scions.

Beach volleyball women at the olympic level average at least 6 feet. US Gold medalist Alix Klineman is 6 ft 5. Her partner is 6 ft 1.
My late father played high school basketball in Philadelphia during the 40’s. He claimed he was 5’ 6”but I think he added an inch or two. When he died at age 90, he was 5’ 1”.
The first thing he did to both of his houses was build a half-court in the backyard.
In the 60’s and 70’s I remember him watching lots of basketball on TV. But he eventually soured on it. I can remember him screaming things like “foul!” “traveling!,””charging!” at the TV. He liked to quote Arthur Ashe’s quote that whenever blacks enter a sport, they change it.
After he stopped watching men’s basketball, however, he would still like to watch women’s college basketball. He said they ran plays, like he remembered the game being played. Not show-boating.

Fixed that. Play basketball outside on a soccer-sized court. The length and breadth of the court consist of fewer feet than football fields or pitches have yards. Pro hoops games are barely longer than soccer halves, with countless stoppages and substitutions.
Lengthen the game in all four dimensions. 12′ baskets, 360′ x 220′, for two unbroken 60-minute halves. See how the bruthas handle that!
The pro game has changed more by the fact that so many games are played that even the best athletes need to slack off until the "play-offs", by the emphasis on trash talking and emotional expression made possible by 4K television broadcasts, by the vast ocean of cash from worldwide television rights and by the soap opera aspect intended to increase female viewership.

Sport is the new religion. The left has put in an incredible amount of effort into taking over the sports universe. What we’re seeing now is the end result, but the groundwork has been laid the past few decades. We now have kids that have grown up their entire lives watching sportcenter the first thing in the morning and last thing at night before they go to bed. They now listen to sports radio as they drive to and from work, and text all day with their friends about the latest sports gossip.

I believe UConn’s juggernaut women’s team back in the 90’s had a point guard named Jennifer Rizzotti who was somewhat attractive. Of course, that’s the only I can think of, and most of you would probably think Im being generous. But if a female basketball is going to be attractive, it would have to be a point guard since that is the shortest position.

I guess one could say that that, too, is an example of a way to ruin a sure thing.

The US men’s national soccer team usually has 2 or 3 times as many black players as Mexican players, even though a lot more Mexican-Americans care about soccer. If a Mexican-American Maradona came along, would he even make our World Cup team?
In fact the US National Soccer pipeline is highly cartelized. Good young soccer players these days are usually marked out for greatness by 8 or 10 years old. At that point, you have to get into a good youth club, possibly a feeder team for a Major League Soccer club or even a foreign league. The youth sides for the National Team start scouting players in their teens and are incorporated into the setup by 15 or 16. After that, it's a grind to make it into a world class soccer club. MLS is getting better, but Europe is where the money and talent are, so most good young Americans go to Europe and train with the youth sides in the Bundesliga or the Premier League. All of our world-class talent came up through Europe. Exceptions exist, there have been late bloomers, talent does come up through the MLS, but these players usually round out the squad: the best skill players always come through European sides and were identified as soccer greats from a very early age.
Obviously, the process I just described requires a substantial amount of money, which Mexican-Americans do not have. The lineup for the USMNT at the CONCACAF Nations League Final in June, where we won a huge 3-2 comeback victory over Mexico, shows this dynamic. Here's the lineup for the US side:
https://images2.imgbox.com/30/f0/04sux1V4_o.jpg
You'd think there'd be a lot of Mexican-Americans, since Mexicans are about 10% of the US population and are probably 20% of our youth soccer players. But in fact there is only one Mexican, the third-string goalkeeper behind one white and one half-white man. The rest of the players are not exactly rags-to-riches stories.
Josh Sargeant (W), who now plays for Norwich City in the Premier League, is the son of two college soccer players and was privately educated through high school before breaking into the youth sides at Schalke and PSV Eindhoven, two second-tier but distinguished European clubs.
Christian Pulisic (W) plays up his Hershey, PA origins but in reality his father was a successful soccer coach who shepherded his son through youth setups in England and the US before Christian started playing for Borussia Dortmund's youth sides.
Now Pulisic (W) is a regular starter for Chelsea FC and played in the Champions League Final-winning team last May, the first American ever to do so. Giovanni Reyna is half-Argentine and is soccer royalty through his father, the former captain of the USMNT.
Weston McKenni (black) came up through FC Dallas's youth setup but then went over to Schalke, a medium-tier club in Europe, before signing for Juventus, a perennial Champions League contender, last year.
John Brooks (half black), who has never lived in the US, is the son of an American serviceman and a German mother and came up through the Bundesliga.
Sergino Dest's (Surinamese) mother is Dutch; he came up through Ajax's youth side and is now an irregular starter for Barcelona. And that's the high quality, top-notch, European-based half of the team.
As for the rest, Yedlin (half black half Jewish), Ream (white), Steffen (black), Acosta (black) and McKenzie (black) are completely homegrown products, a decent tally, but Ream and Yedlin were educated at expensive Catholic high schools with good soccer programs, and all came up through similarly expensive club setups before entering either the US ODP program, the youth sides for MLS clubs, or American colleges. The rest of the roster ain't much different.
The Mexican kids I grew up playing soccer with just didn't have the resources or the social connections to come up this way. I knew quite a few highly talented, physically fit, competitive Mexican-American youngsters who played recreational soccer because it was cheap, never caught the eye of a well-connected coach, then drifted into minimum wage jobs or the US military in adulthood. Needless to say, most never went to college, the last ditch gate to scout soccer talent.
IMO this is a big missed opportunity for our National Team, and it comes from the decentralized soccer system we have in our country, which is seriously distorted by elite/financial connections, compared to well-developed, centralized systems in Germany, France, et al which effectively identify non-white/lower class talent and integrate them into their national setups.

Women’s golf has improved the looks of its players over the last 20 years. Part of that has been the Williams sisters in tennis, who are so mannish and ugly that they scared traditional tennis beauties away to the other country club sport. Also, female tennis outfits (at least professionally) have gotten less cute-sexy and more I’m-a-competitor, functional ugly lycra, turning people off.
Meanwhile, ladies golf has actively pushed more feminine looks and cuter outfits. And the influx of more feminine Korean women to the sport thanks to Tiger Woods influence has helped with looks (Tiger is half-Thai, and most Asians can see that looking at him, and Tiger brags about it to Asian audiences). And feminism has shoved a lot of women onto the golf course for networking, and some of the cuter females have found to enjoy it.

Up through the 1970s a lot of US states played girl’s 6 on 6 basketball in high school. It was kind of a cross between the rough and tumble of 5 man basketball and the more ladylike netball. But the feminists hated 6 girl basketball, so it went away, even though it appears to have been a smart compromise.
I grew up watching girls' six-player hoops in Iowa, where its popularity was incredible -- in many ways, the girls' basketball state tournament was a bigger deal than the boys'.
The game was well-suited to girls. Because the court was divided into what was functionally two three-on-three games, only one of which was in play at any point, the girls on the 'off' side of the court could rest. And since players couldn't cross half court, they also didn't get exhausted running up and down the full court. These factors helped players retain their edge and intensity throughout the game.
Six-player games were often high-scoring and exciting. But it was all unacceptable to those who insisted that girls had to play exactly like boys, or they were being discriminated against.
To be fair, the factor that likely tipped the final six-player states (i.e. IA and OK) into switching to five-player was the argument that high school stars were being overlooked for college scholarships because they couldn't play the 'complete' five-on-five game.
Standard trope response. Try harder next time.

I wouldn’t say the influx of Asian female golfers has been a net plus for the LPGA. If they didn’t generally dominate it might be, but personally, I’d rather see local gals on top more often. A few years ago, Morgan Pressel & Paula Creamer were the up and comers but fizzled out, then Lexi Thompson. Now the Kordas are stepping up. But then again, compared to men’s golf, it pales – that said, most of them would kick my ass up one side and down the other.

Might the real reason have been in order to divert attention from the far more serious allegations and evidence concerning the Governor’s actions in the nursing homes- COVID matter? (This being likely to prove highly damaging, if not fatal (politically) to many well beyond the Governor himself.) Such a theory has been posited.
The competing theory - "Cuomo was a threat to Biden" - is so stupid you wonder how anyone could believe it. Cuomo is an oily New York State neo-liberal shill lapsed Italian Catholic. He has zero base anywhere. He was no threat to Biden.

Surprising. Whites are generally better athletes than Mexicans, and are better suited to soccer in particular.

In America kids must spend at least 5 days of their high school summers laboring in the nearest black thug ghetto, homeless food line or for the wealthy, 5 days and 4 nights in S America or Africa building latrines for primitives who don’t use them anyway. At $6,000 a trip plus air fare. These are kids who’ve never loaded and unloaded a dishwasher, washed a car or put away clean laundry. Don’t know a hammer from a shovel. But they can write a college application essay about the joys of teaching jungle S Americans how to dig a hole in the ground.
So clever Whites just check the black box and write a sob story essay about My Struggle.

See, if this were a ballistic curve, his line of impact would be at at a slightly smaller acute angle from the baseline at the greater height of the basket vs. the shooters hand. Now, if you take air drag into account (the spin of the ball being a factor too in that case), your curve may represent reality.
Get back to work, Reg. Include air drag this time or a different diagram.
Bunga Bungaa true story:Once tried to teach a STEM subject to some basketball type athletes, and it did not turn out well. More then one of the promising young
Lavoisiersstudent athletes thought mocking me would be a good idea. It was not.One day I had just them in the study hall and I asked them if they ever thought about the physics of the ball as it arches from the three point line to the net. They did not, so we discussed consciously thinking about the velocity and angles when shooting. Oddly, their shooting percentages did not rise; they fell!
Algebra requires a minimal ability to engage in abstract thinking and a basic familiarity with numbers, operators and expressions. If the student, athlete or not, can't do that, then
no soup for thema diploma is not warranted.Replies: @Achmed E. NewmanHaha, James, you messed up their mindset on the court, but kudos to you for at least trying your best to get them interested in simple physics via B-ball.
Now, I’ll mention pretty much the opposite sort of guy from your “student” athletes. We used to shoot pool with this one friend who was a physics major. He’d go on about the angle of incidence equalling the angle of reflection (well, not really, with any spin), but I said “hey, that’s all great stuff, but you’ve got to shoot it right first.” While you’re shooting, it’d be best to not be thinking physics, or anything else, really.
I think we were about equal anyway, but I do remember that this was a guy, back in the 1980s, talking to us about the future and the Mark of the Beast, bar-codes on our foreheads and all. He was a proto-Kazyniski. He was right.

Are we to assume, then, that the name Studds (as well as Harvey Milk, and the names of any number of other of prominent Gay activists) were, in fact, their given-names? Or were these flamboyantly-named activists of an era in the movement that was already post the early one referenced above? Likewise, would said “early gay-rights movement” have disavowed the rather lurid spectacles of wanton public lewdness that have been ubiquitous and integral to Pride events for at least several decades now?
Heritage Americans (or Core Americans if you prefer), both White and Black, gravitate to the more traditional “big three” of baseball, basketball, and football (American), and to a lesser extent, the “fourth” of ice hockey. Those sports have deep cultural cache among the middle/working class pre-1965 Immigration Americans. So, talent that could go to soccer, tends to go there. Mexican-American youth, at least recent arrivals, don’t have the same cultural connection to those others (with the exception of baseball), so less pull of talent away from soccer.
No one wants to watch it, but plenty of people want to make you watch it.

What do you think is going on? I have no clue, well, I have one clue: Cuomo is a vengeful bastard and he has dirt on people, especially Hunter. There’s no practical benefit to drawing this out, he just wants to make Biden suffer.
JMO. What say you?
I think the main cultural difference vis a vis men’s and women’s professional sports is that with regard to male athletes “women want them men and men want to be them,” whereas with most high level female athletes men often don’t want them, and women generally don’t want to be them.
There’s also the fact that women’s sports have painted themselves into a corner by embracing the cutting edge of the left’s cultural insurgent values. Women’s soccer was more marketable to middle America when the women’s team consisted of vaguely pretty, healthy looking women who could be a Midwestern conservadad’s favorite daughter. Now the women’s team has a definite dyke-y edge to it. There’s no way the powers that be in women’s soccer could have a delicate conversation with the players to encourage them to back off of the obvious lesbian overtones in order to better market the sport. Instead, you have spectacles like this, where players are dating members of competing teams:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-9882055/How-Matildas-captain-Sam-Kerr-traded-one-U-S-soccer-star-lover-another.html
You wouldn’t take the NBA seriously as a legitimate competition if Kevin Durant was dating Steph Curry, and then broke up with him to date Joel Embiid. But the women don’t seem to want to do anything that would encourage people to take them seriously beyond wailing about pay.

The problem is identifying the Mexican Maradona. Americans tend to think of soccer as an immigrants’ game; Mexicans are soccer-mad immigrants; so it’s often assumed that the Mexican-American community will eventually produce a world-class player for the US National Team.
After that, it’s a grind to make it into a world class soccer club.
Here’s the lineup for the US side:
You’d think there’d be a lot of Mexican-Americans, since Mexicans are about 10% of the US population and are probably 20% of our youth soccer players.
Christian Pulisic (W) plays up his Hershey, PA origins but in reality his father was a successful soccer coach who shepherded his son through youth setups in England and the US before Christian started playing for Borussia Dortmund’s youth sides.
Now Pulisic (W) is a regular starter for Chelsea FC and played in the Champions League Final-winning team last May, the first American ever to do so. Giovanni Reyna is half-Argentine and is soccer royalty through his father, the former captain of the USMNT.
Weston McKenni (black) came up through FC Dallas’s youth setup but then went over to Schalke, a medium-tier club in Europe, before signing for Juventus, a perennial Champions League contender, last year.
John Brooks (half black), who has never lived in the US, is the son of an American serviceman and a German mother and came up through the Bundesliga.
Sergino Dest’s (Surinamese) mother is Dutch; he came up through Ajax’s youth side and is now an irregular starter for Barcelona. And that’s the high quality, top-notch, European-based half of the team.
The rest of the roster ain’t much different.
The Mexican kids I grew up playing soccer with just didn’t have the resources or the social connections to come up this way.

To amplify:
I NEVER SAID THAT THE MEDIA WEREN'T WHORING FOR CUOMO. OF COURSE THEY WERE, AND THEY WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO WHORING FOR HIM AGAIN.
My point, which I thought the savvy people here might understand, is that Cuomo's appeal was completely media-driven and fictitious.
He had no real base, outside the media.
Everything that's happened recently has proved this.
Cuomo had no base. His appeal was entirely media driven. Thus he was expendable.
He was taken down to cover up his crimes during the Covid epidemic.
Those crimes are also applicable to at least half a dozen other governors, mostly Democrats, and if you stopped screaming like a fool, you'd calm down and read the links I gave.

One psyops TV pulls on us is that the average person on TV is much better looking than the average person in real life. Because of that, when you watch TV, your ranking of “good looking” becomes skewed. E.g. even the “ugly” criminals on a crime show are good-looking guys with either unconventional looks or are portrayed as less-good-looking and dirtied up worse than the hero-leads. One TV trick: they give the “bad” guys slightly ill-fitting or unmatching or unflattering clothes for their tone/body. It’s not enough for most people to notice outright (unless they are fashionistas), but it is enough to make you think the guy looks uglier and therefore think he’s less likeable than the hero-lead, who always looks good.
So your experience is probably a combo of both women’s golf making the effort to recruit better looking girls who keep themselves up plus your TV goggles falling off.
I knew a girl who interned at NBC News back when Lyin’ Brian Williams was the anchor. She had never thought he was particularly striking or attractive or noteworthy, but one day she turned a corner and ran into him and was shocked at how good-looking he was. She had been comparing Williams to everyone else on TV, so he looked normal and boring, but IRL he was the best looking guy in the room.

“Cuomo never had a chance? Are you high? The media adulation he received for his Covid actions was all about preparing him for 2024. Maybe somebody at the DNC/mega-donor lair decided he was dangerous because the idiots fawning over him would get him the nomination, and then his Covid failures and groping history would sink him in the general. Maybe not.”
To amplify:
I NEVER SAID THAT THE MEDIA WEREN’T WHORING FOR CUOMO. OF COURSE THEY WERE, AND THEY WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO WHORING FOR HIM AGAIN.
My point, which I thought the savvy people here might understand, is that Cuomo’s appeal was completely media-driven and fictitious.
He had no real base, outside the media.
Everything that’s happened recently has proved this.
Cuomo had no base. His appeal was entirely media driven. Thus he was expendable.
He was taken down to cover up his crimes during the Covid epidemic.
Those crimes are also applicable to at least half a dozen other governors, mostly Democrats, and if you stopped screaming like a fool, you’d calm down and read the links I gave.
THE REAL SCANDAL ARE THE NURSING HOME DEATHS WHICH WILL NOW BE COVERED UP BECAUSE OF THE ‘SEXUAL HARASSMENT’ BULLSHIT.

I think the people who say this has to do with Biden protecting his presidential chances are all wet. Cuomo (a New York State neolib guido) never had a chance to be president.
This ploy is designed to protect all the Democrat governors (and one Republican, I think) who murdered thousands of helpless old folks, and other helpless people, in care homes.Replies: @Dennis Dale, @SteveRogers42
Lemme tell ya a coupla three things. Historically, the Cuomos are nothing more than a glorified crew. Another Family made a decision: Decapitate and do business with whatever’s left.
Forget it, Jake. It’s Ireland.
Also, the level of grooming for people on TV is really high. I ran into a local TV weatherman at a school event in between his evening and late night broadcasts and the details of his grooming were striking compared to other private school dads.

Hey, Mr. G., a friend of mine did something similar with women’s tennis at a regular tournament down in Hilton Head or maybe near Charleston, S. Carolina around the same time period. He was volunteering by driving the ladies around for a a guy who worked at some tourist bureau. My friend really enjoyed this, but at this point he cares nothing for the Williams brothers (his terminology, but now mine).
Rex Little, I ran out of LOL‘s.

Many top movie stars and TV stars have their own personal makeup and hair people that they bring with them to their jobs– people who know their look intimately and know just how to accentuate it for the role they are playing.
The first time I noticed this was in the credits the quirky bizarre Wes Anderson comedy-drama The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Cate Blanchett was in the movie, and playing a pregnant woman, and I was mesmerized by how much she was able to give off a seemingly real “pregnancy glow” throughout the film. Even if she had been pregnant during filming, giving off a pregnancy glow during filming is hard; many an actress has been able to play not pregnant while pregnant and not give off the glow, and many “pregnant” characters in films have no glow about them. So Blanchett’s appearance was striking: she was giving off hard “I’m pregnant” rays, so much so that it becomes apparent that is what is driving Owen Wilson’s character to be attracted to her.
I was so intrigued, I watched the credits, and saw to my interest Blanchett had her own personal makeup/hair person on the film separate from everyone else. Given Blanchett’s success in acting, I should not be surprised she takes her “look” in every film very seriously. I hope her personal hair/makeup/stylist gets good money.
I suppose that’s one of those inside-Hollywood secrets of the longtime stars. Enough with the gophers and majordomos, get some fabulous makeup artist and lock them down to personal services.

I cannot believe a couple of black celebrities turned out to be horrible to the people “beneath” them. I am shocked, shocked I say! (/sarcasm).

Poor Don Imus had to make a groveling on air apology to Al Sharpton of all people for that sin and spent the rest of his career in purgatory. Don’s place on MSNBC was taken by that bumptious ex-GOP Congressman from Florida whose name I can’t be bothered to look up and his deep-state progeny wife, Mika.
