From the New York Times:

From an Anchor’s Lips to Trump’s Ears to Sweden’s Disbelief
By PETER BAKER and SEWELL CHAN FEB. 20, 2017

… Just like that, without white papers, intelligence reports, an interagency meeting or, presumably, the advice of his secretary of state, the president started a dispute with a longtime American friend that resented his characterization and called it false. The president’s only discernible goal was to make the case domestically for his plans to restrict entry to the United States.

In contrast, the previous President leapt to a conclusion about a different country than Sweden before collecting data. As I wrote in Taki’s Magazine on July 13, 2016:

Last week, on his way to Warsaw on Air Force One, President Barack Obama was looking at social media. According to The New York Times, he alerted his press secretary that:

He had decided to make a statement himself as soon as they landed, and had told his aides to collect statistics demonstrating racial bias in the criminal justice system.

Now, you might think that’s putting the cart before the horse. Perhaps the administration should objectively evaluate the evidence first, rather than order its media flacks to dredge up some data justifying the president’s prejudices?

But that would be wrong. Everybody knows that culture or evolution can’t have anything to do with hereditary racial differences in performance. If you even consider those possibilities, you must be one of the bad white people you’ve been warned about.

What could possibly go wrong with President Obama spouting his racial prejudices?

Well, in this particular case, BLM terrorists in Dallas and Baton Rouge quickly followed up on President Obama’s outrage against the racist police system in this country by assassinating eight police officers.

When I heard about the Dallas massacre, the first thing that popped into my head was, “So Trump will be President.”

  1. You must make the facts fit the crime or the crime fit the facts. Let not independent judgement of the facts lead to an inappropriate conclusion. Judge first, then all facts will fall into place.

  2. He is,at heart,a monster.

  3. ”’ Dallas massacre ”’ …? … how very soon we forget …

  4. “He had decided to make a statement himself as soon as they landed, and had told his aides to collect statistics demonstrating racial bias in the criminal justice system.”

Well of course. Look at the data in enough different ways and you can find a way that makes it look like “disparate impact.” White murderers are actually sentenced to death at a higher rate than black murderers. So what did they do? They tickled the data to demonstrate that black murderers are more likely to be sentenced to death when their victims were white, and bingo!, racial disparity in sentencing. Nevermind that black on white murders (typically very violent murder of strangers, often involving rape) are more likely to be the kind jurors are predisposed to choose the death penalty no matter the color of the perp.

  5. All I can say is that Barack Obama must be brought to justice for this. The lives of eight officers are not an acceptable price to pay for a rogue president’s race-hustling.

The death toll is far higher than that.

There were 1,500 extra murders in 2015 alone.

Not just yours, Steve. I remember Micheal Brendan Dougherty tweeting back in December 2015 after the Bataclan massacre that Trump is only one terror attack away from being elected POTUS. Maybe Dallas was it, maybe Milwaukee and Charlotte riots pushed Wisconsin and North Carolina to his column…But to a lot of people after those Trump presidency seemed both possible and plausible.

Trump was telling the truth about Muslims in Sweden, generally and irrefutably -e.g., the pandemic of rapes and gang-rapes and sexual assaults, the riots, the constant and growing threats of terrorist acts of mass-murder as in France and Germany, the inability and refusal of Muslim to "assimilate," etc.- even if he was wrong about a specific incident. But in the inverted Orwellian/Kafkaesque world of left-liberalism and now "Trump derangement syndrome," telling the truth is lying and lying is telling the truth.

  8. Sweden is “a long time American friend” of the United States? Are they BFF’s or just regular friends? Nations may be allies of one another but they are not each other’s friends. This kind of thinking causes problems. We conduct foreign policy like a bunch of middle school girls. We can’t say the wrong thing because if we do, our friends won’t talk to us and we won’t be able to sit at the cool kids’ table at lunch.

I don’t really believe in that stuff but I think Trump is some kind of a psychic. He talked about what happened “last night in Sweden.” Well, maybe Trump learned about it “last night” but it actually happened a couple of days later that immigrants rioted in Sweden. Talk about Trump’s Luck! When talking about the chaos these immigrants cause, specifically in Sweden, he (apparently) made an error. But, right on cue, the immigrants prove him right.

Sweden has been a de facto member of NATO since the early years of the alliance:
    http://www.nato.int/docu/review/2007/military_civilian_divide/NATO_Sweden/EN/index.htm

Although officially neutral during the Cold War, historical analyses published by the Swedish government in the 1990s highlighted Sweden's close ties with several NATO Allies. Almost from NATO's creation, Swedish officials felt that, if attacked, a de facto security guarantee was in place from some of the Allies. So, in this respect, Sweden was anything but neutral. And it has a long history of working quietly with NATO Allies on joint security issues.

Trump seems to have a lot of luck in this regard. I remember him doing something similar in Belgium and Germany, only (unfortunately) to be proven right in a matter of days. Of course, Islamic terror is getting so commonplace in Europe that it's a bit like making a prediction that the sky is going to be blue the next day.

I question how good these "friendships" are when they make constant and repeated denunciations of our sitting President. Seems like a good friend would try to find a way to work together, not issue statements that are designed to condescend or irritate. Our "friends" and "allies" treat us very poorly typically and it's time this comes to an end. Ultimately I suspect they are just angry that if Trump requires these countries to pay their fair share, they won't be able to import refugees at the rate they are now. That either means they have to raise their already onerous taxes or they have to cut back.

  9. OT, but the hijab mania is out of control.

In 2011, I was hired, straight out of college, to work at the White House and eventually the National Security Council. My job there was to promote and protect the best of what my country stands for. I am a hijab-wearing Muslim woman––I was the only hijabi in the West Wing––and the Obama administration always made me feel welcome and included.

Like most of my fellow American Muslims, I spent much of 2016 watching with consternation as Donald Trump vilified our community. Despite this––or because of it––I thought I should try to stay on the NSC staff during the Trump Administration, in order to give the new president and his aides, a more nuanced view of Islam, and of America’s Muslim citizens.

    I lasted eight days.

  15. Not sure about how old is this DeepShit WH hagiographer Baker, but his partner in crime, Mr. Sewell Chan, a son of Hong Kong cab driver and Harvard’s graduate, is only 40- which probably explains clumsiness of fake reporting such as this :

“…a dispute with a longtime American friend …”

    Sweden, that is.
    Really?

This is from Mcmuffinpedia about Nice White Lady that used to run Sweden directly or indirectly for almost fifteen years:

Olof Palme was a pivotal, renowned, and polarizing figure domestically as well as in international politics since the 1960s.

He was steadfast in his non-alignment policy towards the superpowers, accompanied by support for numerous third world liberation movements following decolonization including, most controversially, economic and vocal support for a number of Third World governments which were guilty of gross violations of human rights.

Most famously, he was the first Western head of government to visit Cuba after its revolution, giving a speech in Santiago praising contemporary Cuban and Cambodian revolutionaries.

His 1972 condemnation of the Hanoi bombings, notably comparing the tactic to the Treblinka extermination camp, resulted in a temporary freeze in Sweden–United States relations.

In later years, Palme regularly remarked during his many subsequent American visits, that the United States had made him a socialist, a remark that often has caused confusion. Within the context of his American experience, it was not that Palme was repelled by what he found in America, but rather that he was inspired by it.

Palme attributed his becoming a socialist to these major foreign influences:

    1. The time he spent in the United States in the 1940s made him realise how wide the class divide was in America, and the extent of racism against black people;

    2. A trip to Asia, specifically India, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), Burma, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Japan in 1953 had opened his eyes to the consequences of colonialism and imperialism.

On 21 February 1968, Palme (then Minister of Education) participated in a protest in Stockholm against U.S. involvement in the war in Vietnam together with the North Vietnamese Ambassador to the Soviet Union Nguyen Tho Chan. The protest was organized by the Swedish Committee for Vietnam and Palme and Nguyen were both invited as speakers.

As a result of this, the U.S. recalled its Ambassador from Sweden and Palme was fiercely criticised by the opposition for his participation in the protest.[

On 23 December 1972, Palme (then Prime Minister) made a speech on Swedish national radio where he compared the ongoing U.S. bombings of Hanoi to historical atrocities, namely the bombing of Guernica, the massacres of Oradour-sur-Glane, Babi Yar, Katyn, Lidice and Sharpeville, and the extermination of Jews and other groups at Treblinka.

The US government called the comparison a “gross insult” and once again decided to freeze its diplomatic relations with Sweden (this time the freeze lasted for over a year)
    .

Despite such associations and contrary to stated Social Democratic Party policy, Sweden had in fact secretly maintained extensive military co-operation with NATO over a long period, and was even under the protection of a US military security guarantee.

Ugh, don't remind me of Palme. A greater sin than yapping about Vietnam was probably all the pointless support of third world liberation movements, like Palestine or ANC. Huge mistake, in my opinion.

It's not talked about much anymore, since it probably reminds everyone about what a terrible mess South Africa has become, but I recently found a couple of dry historical volumes documenting the ANC period written by one of the Swedish government participants. I wonder what can be gleaned between the lines there.

But who killed Olaf Palme has never been established. Was it the US? Did the Russians not like his secret NATO deals? Or did Palme merely have the misfortune to look like a rival drug dealer? That last would be a hell of a coincidence.

Mulattoes have a particular hatred of Whites because if their White parent had made a different choice they would have been White. The virulence of their hatred can sometimes boil over into murder as in the case of Phillip Chism who raped, mutilated and murdered his young math teacher. His mother had moved them, and he was transferred to a mostly White school from the previously all Black school where he had been doing OK academically. In his new math class he found himself utterly baffled by the level of profiency required. It was reported that when tests were handed out, he would flip the test paper over and draw until the test was over. The pretty young teacher invited him to stay after class for tutoring. When he found out it was actually for just tutoring, he worked out a plan for murdering her, ( as he put it, "I hate you all"), but the plan didn't take into account security video catching him rolling her body out of the ladies room in a trash bin. (OK, so he was no young Moriarty.) Since he was a minor, he was placed in custody in a juvenile facility where he used the looser security to attempt to murder another White woman on the staff. In that case luckily, security broke in on him before he completed the strangulation of his second victim. After that, I believe the 6 foot kid was transferred to a high security jail.
Obama used his position of power to wreak as much damage as he could on White people.

With utmost appreciation and respect, Steve, I think this is just one of your “old man yarn-spinning” exercises- i.e. the tendency of us all, as we age, to shut down to new experiences and keep going back to the same well of favorite stories and beloved anecdotes (call it “comfort history”). Like how whatever comment I make once a thread turns to music, you invariably work-in how one of the members of THE CLASH was picked because the manager thought he looked like “a real rock-star” 😉

Anyway, to me there were many more iconic moments in the campaign, though I’m open to being corrected if better evidence comes out (“teach me, so that I can teach other deplorables!”). Trump was almost cuck-ish when it came to black crime, and instead reserved his big guns for Muslim terrorism, immigration, and trade. A far more defining moment to me was the Orlando night club massacre (“you mean the Atlanta one that didn’t happen? *snark, snark*) .

BTW, though your comparison of Trump to the boy in THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES fable is more evocative, the honest-to-gosh truth is that we have cranky grandpa in the White House- you know, the sort of male senior citizen who spends most of his day watching cable news and then shouting at the TV? Except Trump is not a shut-in, but oozes energy. And he’s in the White House. And the “responsible” elite establishment that supposedly runs this country is so POZ’d and crazy that even the tritest of Trump’s observations about what’s-wrong-with-the-world becomes a brilliant, insightful piece of social reform by way of contrast.

"...a dispute with a longtime American friend ..."

    1. The time he spent in the United States in the 1940s made him realise how wide the class divide was in America, and the extent of racism against black people;

As a result of this, the U.S. recalled its Ambassador from Sweden and Palme was fiercely criticised by the opposition for his participation in the protest.
    [

On 23 December 1972, Palme (then Prime Minister) made a speech on Swedish national radio where he compared the ongoing U.S. bombings of Hanoi to historical atrocities, namely the bombing of Guernica, the massacres of Oradour-sur-Glane, Babi Yar, Katyn, Lidice and Sharpeville, and the extermination of Jews and other groups at Treblinka.

The US government called the comparison a "gross insult" and once again decided to freeze its diplomatic relations with Sweden (this time the freeze lasted for over a year)
    .

Despite such associations and contrary to stated Social Democratic Party policy, Sweden had in fact secretly maintained extensive military co-operation with NATO over a long period, and was even under the protection of a US military security guarantee.

This kind of thinking causes problems. We conduct foreign policy like a bunch of middle school girls. We can't say the wrong thing because if we do, our friends won't talk to us and we won't be able to sit at the cool kids' table at lunch.

Sweden has been a de facto member of NATO since the early years of the alliance:
    http://www.nato.int/docu/review/2007/military_civilian_divide/NATO_Sweden/EN/index.htm

Although officially neutral during the Cold War, historical analyses published by the Swedish government in the 1990s highlighted Sweden’s close ties with several NATO Allies. Almost from NATO’s creation, Swedish officials felt that, if attacked, a de facto security guarantee was in place from some of the Allies. So, in this respect, Sweden was anything but neutral. And it has a long history of working quietly with NATO Allies on joint security issues.

When he found out it was actually for just tutoring, he worked out a plan for murdering her, ( as he put it, “I hate you all”), but the plan didn’t take into account security video catching him rolling her body out of the ladies room in a trash bin.

I know 2 people who worked at the Wesley House on Martha’s Vineyard for a summer job. The Wesley House was some kind of Methodist restaurant/hotel joint. One of the people married a son of a Methodist minister who she met on Martha’s Vineyard. The Methodists have some type of summer camp on the island. Maybe the Methodists brought the Blacks to Martha’s Vineyard?

The minister had his main job in a Philadelphia town that is now overrun with Blacks and other non-Europeans. Nice Methodists can’t live there anymore. Wonder why? Upper Darby is the name. Sounds fancy, but the demography ain’t fancy no more.

Just checked. The area of Upper Darby was settled by people from New Sweden in 1653. The Dutch pushed aside the Swedes in 1655, and then the English took over the place in 1664.

Sweden doesn’t get the credit it deserves for settling America. I hope the Swedes in Sweden halt all immigration and begin mass expulsions.

I agree with you regarding Sweden's policies vis-a-vis Germany in World War II. (And let me add that I have very little (if any) admiration for Sweden or its current policy of auto genocide.)

But Sweden's policy of cooperation in wartime is the normal practice of a country located in proximity to an overpowering nation.

Another example of this cooperation was the actual policy of the supposedly neutral Irish Republic in relation to their all powerful neighbor Great Britain in WW II. Let me emphasize the "actual" conduct as opposed to the purported neutrality.

    Buffalo Joe,

I agree with you regarding Sweden's policies vis-a-vis Germany in World War II. (And let me add that I have very little (if any) admiration for Sweden or its current policy of auto genocide.)

But Sweden's policy of cooperation in wartime is the normal practice of a country located in proximity to an overpowering nation.

Another example of this cooperation was the actual policy of the supposedly neutral Irish Republic in relation to their all powerful neighbor Great Britain in WW II. Let me emphasize the "actual" conduct as opposed to the purported neutrality. (And please no mention of DeValera offering condolences on Hitler's death as this was just a meaningless diplomatic gesture.)

Somewhere I have a book about strange WW2 facts, that includes a chapter about how the Swedes were one of the biggest suppliers of ball-bearings to the Nazi war machine. The British concocted a scheme to out bid the Germans and purchase the Swedish ball-bearings for their own war industry, and even provided un-armed Mosquito bombers as air freighters to a British airline (BOAC?) as they were the only aircraft at the time that could out run German fighters when flying between Sweden and Britain.

  78. The problem with Trump isn’t that he jumps to conclusions, its that he uses stereotypes. Obama fought stereotypes, and although he was always wrong and helped all our enemies, he was doing it for the right reasons. Anti-White Hatred and Envy.
Trump seems to almost know what is gonna happen. Those darn stereotypes are far more accurate than weather forecasts, economists, the mass media, experts and daily horoscopes, but should you use something idiots hate just because it helps you and makes you seem incredibly accurate? Not according to the media and they must have four or five viewers that tune in to them sometime or another based solely on poor ratings and angry rants alone.
Oh sure Trump is popular, has followers, some idea of what he’s doing and the ability to outwit his opponents, but does that match the disingenuous fawning that Obama got for his skin color? Trump will have to rely on skill and his voters because he certainly doesn’t have a bunch of retards and corporate whores ignoring his mistakes like Obama. Obama will probably go down in History between George W. Bush and Trump, remembered by three or four quiz show champions who also can name Millard Fillmore and James Buchanan. Trump might become a historical figure, but only through policy and skill and not through the unwitting dedication of nerds and geeks with a preoccupation for trivial pursuits.
Historians judge you based on who the government pays them to make look good and criticise. A White Government will still put a stern critical eye on Trump. A black run government will probably be burned out by China or Japan, so what difference at this point does it make?
Lets not forget that from space, no one can hear the media scream. Puts it all into perspective doesn’t it?

Not sure about how old is this DeepShit WH hagiographer Baker, but his partner in crime, Mr. Sewell Chan, a son of Hong Kong cab driver and Harvard's graduate, is only 40- which probably explains clumsiness of fake reporting such as this :

"...a dispute with a longtime American friend ..."

    1. The time he spent in the United States in the 1940s made him realise how wide the class divide was in America, and the extent of racism against black people;

As a result of this, the U.S. recalled its Ambassador from Sweden and Palme was fiercely criticised by the opposition for his participation in the protest.

BTW, though your comparison of Trump to the boy in THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES fable is more evocative, the honest-to-gosh truth is that we have cranky grandpa in the White House- you know, the sort of male senior citizen who spends most of his day watching cable news and then shouting at the TV? Except Trump is not a shut-in, but oozes energy. And he's in the White House. And the "responsible" elite establishment that supposedly runs this country is so POZ'd and crazy that even the tritest of Trump's observations about what's-wrong-with-the-world becomes a brilliant, insightful piece of social reform by way of contrast.
