Much like Stuyvesant High School in NYC, Thomas Jefferson STEM HS in the DC suburbs of Virginia has test only admissions and its student body is 73% Asian and only 17% white.

Whites are using the Summer of George to deal with the rising tide of Asian Supremacy.

From The Washingtonian:

Thomas Jefferson High School Could Switch to a “Merit Lottery” for Admission
A proposal aims to diversify the elite STEM school by eliminating the admissions test and $100 application fee.
WRITTEN BY ROSA CARTAGENA

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology needs to change its admissions policy, according to Fairfax County Public Schools superintendent Scott Brabrand. In a proposal he submitted to the county school board on Tuesday, Brabrand shared a vision for a transformed admissions process that he hopes will increase diversity at the competitive high school. The new system would eliminate the admissions test and $100 application fee and introduce a “merit lottery” process.

This proposal comes after a recent outcry from alumni about the demographic breakdown of students in the incoming freshman class of 2024. Fewer than ten Black students were offered admission, a number so low that it wasn’t included in the FCPS news release reporting class statistics.

One thing to keep in mind: As with Stuyvesant, if you are black and smart enough to get into Thomas Jefferson, you will probably be offered a scholarship to go to St. Alban’s or Sidwell Friends with the children and grandchildren of the national super-elite. Why would you instead want to go to Thomas Jefferson and make friends with Asian grinds when you can get to know the scions of Senators?

Like many years before, the majority admitted this year are Asian students, who make up 73 percent of the incoming class.

TJ is consistently ranked as a top school in the country and the competition is brutal: This year, the admissions rate was about 19 percent. Parents bend over backwards for their child’s potential admission, moving families across the state to fulfill residency requirements and enrolling their kids in after-school programs to prepare them for the TJ admissions test (with “some starting as early as third grade,” Washingtonian reported in 2017). But this process tends to benefit privileged families in the area, creating a homogenous student population that doesn’t come close to fairly representing the six diverse districts in Northern Virginia that the school serves.

A theory that presents itself as the truth when the truth is it isn't even a theory.

Nothing about it could ever be confused with reason.

Taking control of social institutions and managing them are two completely different things. That you can do one doesn't mean you can do the other. That's why what we're really witnessing is nothing less than The Pyrrhic Victory of The Hostile Elite. Nothing quite fails like their success.

From the article: “The release bemoaned the fact that despite hiring a specialist to recruit minority students and previously altering admissions standards in 2011, a “significant impact” has yet to be made on “student demographics.” ” Since 2011, it has hired an outreach specialist to recruit minority students from middle schools across the county.”

They’re trying to recruit high school students from across the country? Most blacks and Hispanics don’t want to leave home for a strange city at age 15. Their recruiting pool is going to be collected from DC and nowhere else.

TJHS is a science and math specialty school. No wonder they don’t have blacks or Hispanics.

“Under current admissions standards, Asians make up 68% of Thomas Jefferson High School students. 21% are white, while 2% are black or Hispanic respectively.”

Must. Kneecap. Asians! Since whites are a clear minority at 21%, they’re pushing back against all those Asian grinds they have. If the school can’t recruit any DC blacks, despite having all those middle-class blacks working government jobs in DC, the black kids must be dumb as hell.

ThreeFiveZero, Buffalo's City Honors HS is a top rated school. It is a criterian school, so you test in, I don't know about an application fee. Buffalo is now majority minority, but the number of black students at City Honors is a low single digit, mayber 3%. Try as they may, they can not increase black enrollment without AA. A proposal to open a second City Honors, in the hope of enrolling more blacks, showed that those just missing the cut off score are Whites and Asians, not blacks. The Buffalo News published an opinion piece by two black City Honors grads, both claiming to hold doctorates, that said that they had to work twice as hard at CH then Asians and Whites. Yeah, sure, they had to turn in two term papers, take two math tests, give two discertations, blah, blah, blah. Buffalo's school budget is ONE BILLION DOLLARS. Money is not the problem. I guess the solution is to rename a MLK HS "School OF Extreme Excellence For Black Students ONLY." All black faculty and administration. Call it reparations, but keep track.

One of the funniest conspiracy theories I’ve encountered contends that the CIA is directly responsible for the creation of Anime, especially with providing startup funds for “Studio Ghibli.” The Japanese founder was a major pacifist who’s father played a role in designing/manufacturing Japanese Zeros (fighter planes.)

    http://christandpopculture.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/20140816.ghibliA.jpg

I’d imagine the US government would support Japanese mass media that advocated high pacifism compared to marshal valor. Better Yoko Uno than Yukio Mishima.

That soothing images pleasing to the human eye would pacify the raging Japanese military spirit and accept US occupation. (Steve pointed out that the CIA created abstract expressionism so there’s a history of art as psy-ops.)

    https://assets.saatchiart.com/saatchi/555649/art/2625818/1695711-ZJSSNJBG-7.jpg

OT: Department of Education to Investigate Racism at Princeton University.

“President Christopher L. Eisgruber published an open letter earlier this month claiming that “[r]acism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton” and that “racist assumptions” are “embedded in structures of the University itself.”

DOJ said okay, we’ll take you at your word and investigate you.

“Such an admission from Eisgruber raises concerns that Princeton has been receiving tens of millions of dollars of federal funds in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Based on its admitted racism, the U.S. Department of Education (“Department”) is concerned Princeton’s nondiscrimination and equal opportunity assurances in its Program Participation Agreements from at least 2013 to the present may have been false,” the letter reads. “The Department is further concerned Princeton perhaps knew, or should have known, these assurances were false at the time they were made. Finally, the Department is further concerned Princeton’s many nondiscrimination and equal opportunity claims to students, parents, and consumers in the market for education certificates may have been false, misleading, and actionable substantial misrepresentations.”

Implying that if Princeton is caught being racist, the Gov’t may pull federal funds from the school. Hahaha. This is what their president gets for shooting off his mouth so he can virtue signal.

    This is fantastic. It’s a win-win situation. Here’s why:

    1. There will probably be more white students at TJ. 21% in an overall area that is still majority white is not healthy. This will be helpful to white students who are bright, but not affluent and whose parents can’t afford a home in Great Falls or McLean or St. Alban’s tuition.

    2. Asian parents will be incensed and will become more “based.” You wanna ally with blacks and liberal whites? Okay, how would you like your children to be racially undesirable?

    3. More high IQ white and Asian students will be exposed to black youths. This can only help the former see the truth of life and help inoculate against blank-slate, pro-black propaganda.

    4. Actual performance by under-qualified blacks and Hispanics will be more apparent when they operate in the same environment as higher IQ whites and Asians. Sure, there will be pressure to up-grade work by blacks and Hispanics, but that will only enhance points 2 and 3 above.

Trump announces creation of national '1776 Commission' to promote 'patriotic education'

Critical race theory and revisionist history such as the New York Times’ 1619 Project are “toxic” need to be countered with patriotic education, US president Donald Trump vowed, announcing a new initiative to do so.

Speaking on Thursday on the occasion of Constitution Day – the anniversary of the US founding document being signed in 1787 – Trump denounced the radicals who seek to “demolish this treasured and precious inheritance,” specifically naming critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and Howard Zinn’s ‘People’s History of the United States.’

“The left-wing rioting and mayhem are the direct result of decades of left-wing indoctrination in our schools,” Trump said, referring to unrest that began at the end of May and spread across the country ostensibly in name of racial justice.

"Critical Race Theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda — an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together.

Teaching critical race theory in schools is child abuse “in the truest sense of those words,” Trump said.

Off topic but up your alley since it’s about education, systemic racism, and “Ideas so stupid only an intellectual could believe them.”

“ In June, I wrote to you as America entered a profound national reckoning with racism. That reckoning is at once painful, because the harms done by systemic racism have been exposed so starkly, and promising, because we are seeing widespread and urgent desire to take action to achieve a more just society.

With that goal in mind, I charged my Cabinet in June to develop plans to combat systemic racism at Princeton and beyond. ”

Betsy DeVos says “Oh, there’s systemic racism at Princeton? That would be a violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Mind if we launch an investigation and look for examples of racism? Because we’d hate to cut off the sweet, sweet gub’ment money we send this fine institution of higher learning.”

Maybe, maybe not. In olden times, you often heard officials talk about trying to attain a mixture of people that "looks like America". Today, you hear calls for "justice". "Justice" may mean fewer whites.

In any case, I am very certain that this school's Board do not now, and will not, permit the actual educational needs of the remaining white families in Virginia to consume any of their limited decision-making energies.

    2. Asian parents will be incensed and will become more “based.”

This could happen. They won't get any sympathy, of course, but they may be able to use (political and financial) force, if they organise themselves.

    3. More high IQ white and Asian students will be exposed to black youths. This can only help the former see the truth of life and help inoculate against blank-slate, pro-black propaganda.

This might have been true in former times, but now, the "underprivileged" students will not be allowed to be seen to underperform, and the "privileged" students will not be allowed to overperform. It isn't going to stop with banning standardised tests.

It is important to keep in mind that the people who are doing all this really have, for all practical purposes, taken leave of their senses.

Unfortunately, it likely succeeded too well (if true) and backwashed into the US. The result being two highly dysfunctional subsets of the young male population.

    @Kronos

This would be a more believable conspiracy theory if it weren't for the fact that so much manga and anime is based around extreme violence and warfare. For example, Golgo 13, which is Japan's longest-running comic book, is about a professional hit man. You can buy it in every 7-Eleven convenience store.

Also, the US did nothing to quash fascist chique and kitch. Until not long ago, and maybe even now, you can buy Nazi paraphernalia in specialty stores.

If anything, the CIA promoted soccer and basketball. Western sports, but especially the these two, are going a long way to replacing traditional Japanese martial arts.

    , @guest
    @Kronos

Abstract Expressionism as a movement may have been if not created by supported by U.S. intelligence. However, it is barely distinguishable from other forms of modern art to the uninitiated. And that ruse had been going for decades. It found support in higher culture (because it was corrupt), Big Business (because ugly art produced with no discernible talent can be churned out quicker), and academia (because it had lost its mind).

That isn’t to say spooks of a sort weren’t behind it from the beginning. But crap resembling Abstract Expressionism was around 50 years before the CIA existed.

Likewise, Studio Ghibli is from the 80s, long after the foundation of anime. After Mishima died, as well. And anime can be extremely violent.

Far as great 20th century novelists go, I suppose Mishima isn’t in the front ranks of popularity. U.S. mass media made a movie about him in the 80s, but aside from that haven’t much promoted him

Still, he’s pretty famous for a writer. And I don’t think it’s because of any dedicated underground cult. Though maybe Neo-Nazis enjoy him.

Doesn’t hurt that he was gay.

  32. The Thomas Jefferson High School was asking for trouble if it was 68% Asian, 21% white and 2% black.

It is almost as though the admission system was run by autistic people. Or run by software and not people at all. You don’t have to be a $150,000 per year diversity consultant to know that numbers like that were going to be a problem sooner or later.

The ivies figured this out decades ago. You keep the testing but throw in some mystery variables to get a class makeup that isn’t skewed in really obvious ways.

Having admissions numbers of 68% Asian, 21% white and 2% black in 2020 is like wearing speedo swimming trunks at a black-tie formal — it’s not subtle.

The racial breakdown of Fairfax County is:
    62.68% White
    9.17% Black or African American
    0.36% Native American
    17.53% Asian

So I am sure Thomas Jefferson will come out of this just fine.

One should not look at the demographics of the county but the demographics of the school system.

    From the school systems website:

Demographically, 37.8 percent of FCPS students are White, 26.8 percent are Hispanic, 19.5 percent are Asian, 9.8 percent are Black, 5.7 percent are two or more races, 0.3 are American Indian and 0.1 percent are Native Hawaiian.

A good rule of thumb for having children while living in Fairfax County is that if one's kid goes to George Mason University, one will be considered a failure as a parent. If one's child goes to community college (NOVA) one is committing child abuse.

    , @Anon
    @Dan Hess

Good point, although this is a private school which costs $28,000 per year and the Public Schools in NYC are able to get away with it somehow. Bronx Science High School is just 2% Black yet the Bronx is 36% Black and just 14% white. If the NYC magnet schools are able to keep their student body at 2% Black via standardized testing why are private schools prohibited from doing the same ? They could have kept the current testing requirements and remained mostly Asian if they really wanted to.

Probably the whites enrolled in the school would rather have more diversity ( less Asians). The current obsession with race has enabled the administration and parents to use it as a tool to reduce the number of Asians attending this school. It seems they have been trying for some time to increase the number of Blacks , but found how difficult it has been to find qualified Blacks based on testing. The white parents may realize their kids would have a better high school experience with more diversity in this situation. It may actually increase their kids understanding of race to be around a few Blacks to better understand HBD.

Don't be so sure. Just because the current situation is bad does not mean that it cannot be made even worse by muddle headed interventions. That is the entire history of the US in recent years.

You could argue that having a school that is 68% Asian in a county that is only 17% Asian is politically unsustainable, but the current system undeniably produced a lot of high functioning individuals who help to keep our infrastructure, medical systems, national defense, etc. going. There will undoubtedly be a price to be paid by casting aside merit in favor of racial equity. Do you want your surgeon to be the guy who won the "merit lottery"?

BTW, there are plenty of schools that are not only 68% black but 100% black and no one seems to have any problem with those. The real problem is that blacks are always casting envious eyes on magic dirt - the white farmer's land in Rhodesia, the Asian dominated magnet public school in America, etc. Whites and Asians always seem to be hoarding the Magic Dirt and not sharing it equitably with their brown brothers. But the when you do "share" it (usually this means giving it 100% to blacks - Girard College (actually a semi-private boys school in Philadelphia) went from excluding blacks in accordance with the will of its donor to "allowing" them and now it is 100% black) then the Magic Dirt somehow loses its mojo and becomes Tragic Dirt every time. Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn went from producing Nobel Prize winners (when it was mostly Jewish) to producing thugs (once it became mostly minority) until they just closed it down.

In the Chicago Police department, I believe they went from competitive examinations to a minimum qualifying score, and it's not very high. Don't know about the Fire Department.

My own agency many years ago (before I was hired) went from a system where each job had to go to one of the three top scorers remaining on the list, to a system of A, B, and C categories. As long as there are at least 5 remaining candidates left in the A category, selections are made only from that category. When the number drops below 5, due to some A candidates being hired or promoted, selections can be made from both A and B. The C category can be tapped if necessary to meet the 5 candidate requirement.

It would not be that hard to design a test which would tend to produce B candidates. Just have about 85% easy questions and 15% very hard questions; the dividing lines are 90% between A and B and 80% between B and C. 70% is minimum. Also scores are normalized so that 60% correct may equal a 70% score. This is done after the test is graded. The lists posted after scoring almost invariably include large numbers of B candidates and few A or C candidates. I think it's fair to surmise that the type of manipulation I mentioned above is occurring.

He asks to talk to me outside privately for a minute. We go to the parking lot and he shows me his new convertible Corvette, glinting in the moonlight. Then he worries aloud that his kid isn’t trying hard enough. Then he tries to talk me into hitting his kid during lessons.

Generally I like putting names to things. Because I am a man, rational (more or less) , and seek to bind nature to my will. Other times, I don’t like naming things. And we’re not referring to misnomers. I mean giving things that don’t exist names.

There is nothing critical and no theory guiding Mr. Jefferson school in ‘Ol Virginny. There is race involved. However, the thing being done concerning race is what the old-timers used to call racism. Or reverse-racism. Simply put anti-whiteism. Probably anti-Asian and anti-semitism too.

Because that's how you build a new ruling class. It's the old Jewish march through the systems, only now the goal is to fill the system up with Asians who are on the anti-white bandwagon. These things take time, but the pushing of Asians into our ruling class and chattering classes is totally obvious at this point.

This would be a more believable conspiracy theory if it weren’t for the fact that so much manga and anime is based around extreme violence and warfare. For example, Golgo 13, which is Japan’s longest-running comic book, is about a professional hit man.

  49. For some reason, despite grammar schools (i.e. selective schools) in England having a similar racial dynamic, they have avoided being attacked on racial grounds. Probably because the obsession with blacks specifically, over all other non-whites, which has been imported from the US is not yet so all-encompassing.

"Merit Lottery" is brilliant doubletalk. Either you choose students by merit or you choose them by lottery. There is no such thing as a "merit lottery". It's a contradiction in terms, like a "giant midget" or "military intelligence". Whoever came up with this novel concept should get a prize for Orwellian euphemism coinage.

We can look forward to many more of these in our future. Perhaps elections will be replace by "merit election lotteries". In lieu of those old fashioned bar exams and medical boards which were so tedious and unfair to minorities, we will have "merit lottery bar exams" and "merit lottery medical boards". You'll be reassured to know that your doctor got into med school thru the "merit lottery" process as did the engineer who designed the bridge you are now crossing and the plane you are flying in. Life in the United States of BLMerica will be glorious. People are worried that the US will become like Brazil? Fuggedaboutit - Venezuela is what we are shooting for now.

    1. There will probably be more white students at TJ.

Maybe, maybe not. In olden times, you often heard officials talk about trying to attain a mixture of people that “looks like America”. Today, you hear calls for “justice”. “Justice” may mean fewer whites.

In any case, I am very certain that this school’s Board do not now, and will not, permit the actual educational needs of the remaining white families in Virginia to consume any of their limited decision-making energies.

    2. Asian parents will be incensed and will become more “based.”

This could happen. They won’t get any sympathy, of course, but they may be able to use (political and financial) force, if they organise themselves.

    3. More high IQ white and Asian students will be exposed to black youths. This can only help the former see the truth of life and help inoculate against blank-slate, pro-black propaganda.

Oh dear. My friend, I see that you have much, so very much yet to learn about human nature. I wish I were still as innocent as you.

    4. Actual performance by under-qualified blacks and Hispanics will be more apparent when they operate in the same environment as higher IQ whites and Asians.

This might have been true in former times, but now, the “underprivileged” students will not be allowed to be seen to underperform, and the “privileged” students will not be allowed to overperform. It isn’t going to stop with banning standardised tests.

The US Department of Education has opened an investigation into Princeton University this week in Princeton, New Jersey The DOE found concern over President Christopher Eisgruber’s acknowledgement that racism remained ’embedded’ at the school

The DOE will investigate if Princeton’s claims that it adhered to Title VI mandates were false and any discriminatory practices as a result Princeton could lose millions in federal funding if found responsible

Eisgruber penned letter this month that brought attention to initiatives implemented by Princeton to combat systematic racism ‘Racist assumptions from the past also remain embedded in structures of the University itself,’ wrote Eisgruber

School officials said it was ‘unfortunate’ that the DOE believed ‘grappling honestly with the nation’s history’ indicated wrongdoing

John was self-aware enough to realize how it would sound if his famously druggie self went public about it, so he didn't, but in the next few days they were relieved to see reports in the local press of other people reporting it. I believe Pang says in her book that as it drifted away John ran out naked on the balcony screaming "Come back for me! Come back!"

Trump announces creation of national ‘1776 Commission’ to promote ‘patriotic education’

“Critical Race Theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda — an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together.

Teaching critical race theory in schools is child abuse “in the truest sense of those words,” Trump said.

After Taylor, who had been an engineer with Jaguar Land Rover for more than 20 years, began wearing – usually – women’s clothes, she suffered insults and abusive jokes. She said she did not receive support from the management and won her constructive dismissal claim.

Part of the argument was whether being gender fluid/non-binary was a protected characteristic under section 7 of the 2010 Equality Act. The protected characteristics covered in the act are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

The judge ruled that it was “clear … that gender is a spectrum” and that it was “beyond any doubt” Taylor was protected. The judge said gender reassignment “concerns a personal journey and moving a gender identity away from birth sex”.

I dislike it for the same reason I liked the old SAT: aptitude doesn’t care how reach your parents were. If you have the talent, it will show up the test. Unfortunately, I suspect having a larger aptitude component to admissions would not be well received in the current political climate. However, would having the top-ranked student from each grade school be eligible be that terrible? The TJ system used to be much more meritocratic; they made the entrance exam much easier in 2011 in the hopes of increasing minority enrollment. This benefited kids who weren’t as quite as gifted but who were willing to kill themselves cramming for the exam. The proportion of Asian kids went from about 40% to 70% with the easier test, while not increasing minority enrollment. Not the result they were looking for. They’re doing something similar in neighboring Montgomery County. The elementary magnet schools now pull “outliers” from each school vs the best kids across the county. So if a school A has a large number of kids scoring in the 99th percentile and school B only has one kid scoring at the 90th percentile and all the rest at 80 and below, the kid from school B will be selected. After this change took place they had kids at the “magnet” schools who were testing below grade level. It hasn’t reached up to the HS magnets yet but it will.

    , @guest007
    @JosephB

The biggest complaints about the test used for TJ or Stuyvesant is that much of the material on the test is not covered by 6th through 8th grade cirriculum in the public schools. The schools entrance requirements create a situation where tutoring and test prep are require to compete with everyone else.

Also, in Fairfax County Public Schools, the real cut for TJ starts in sixth grade when the elementary school teachers decide if a student is ready for algebra in 7th grade versus the college prep track students who will take algebra and a foreign language in eight grade, versus the average children who will take take those classes in ninth grade.

If a student does take and succeed Algebra in 7th grade, they have already fallen off the TJ track.

In the Chicago Police department, I believe they went from competitive examinations to a minimum qualifying score, and it’s not very high. Don’t know about the Fire Department.

This is not rocket science. In fact it's easy to see thru the manipulation. The hard part is creating race quotas without admitting (for various legal and public relations reasons) that you are doing so and inventing hitherto unknown and nonsensical constructions such as the "merit lottery".

Democrats have always been brilliant at such constructions such as "social security" which is a mixed retirement pension/wealth redistribution scheme and "holistic admissions". The key to Democrat success is that you don't go full retard and put in place a full blown Communist system - you always throw in some bit of rationality so that moderates can buy into it.

As others have said, at some point we should just give up the charade and have explicit racial quotas. Then you could go back to having actual merit selection, just on a race by race basis. Such racial/ethnic/religious set-asides are not a recipe for national success (Lebanon is a mess in part because of them) but in a multi-ethnic nation it beats civil war (which is what Lebanon had before the current system). It may be that future national success for the USA is no longer on the table anyway, so really it is a matter of choosing the least worst alternative.

Candidates supported by the Democratic Party swept all seats Tuesday on the Fairfax County School Board, easily staving off challenges from Republican-backed candidates and pushing the board of Virginia’s largest school system even further left.

All 12 candidates, eight of whom are new to the Fairfax board, will begin their four-year terms in January….

Republican-backed candidates attacked Democratic-backed school board members and candidates over a county policy that is intended to promote racial and socioeconomic equity, and accused the Democrats of promoting busing to balance schools by race and income.

Candidates backed by the Democratic Party said the Republicans’ claims amounted to little more than racist dog whistles, arguing that Republicans have trafficked in misinformation about school redistricting to generate fear and to prey on voters’ anxieties.

Much of the political drama emerged from a proposal the school board considered over the summer that would have updated the criteria the school system uses to draw school boundaries.

The proposal would have directed school officials to consider the socioeconomic and racial composition of a school’s student population when the district decides that a school boundary update is necessary. Redistricting also would take into account the location of schools, the safety of walking routes and transportation costs….

Those assertions prompted Fairfax Schools Superintendent Scott Brabrand to circulate a video and letter to the community, reassuring parents, “We won’t be busing students out of their neighborhoods.”

Because that’s how you build a new ruling class. It’s the old Jewish march through the systems, only now the goal is to fill the system up with Asians who are on the anti-white bandwagon. These things take time, but the pushing of Asians into our ruling class and chattering classes is totally obvious at this point.

The Thomas Jefferson High School was asking for trouble if it was 68% Asian, 21% white and 2% black.

It is almost as though the admission system was run by autistic people. Or run by software and not people at all. You don't have to be a $150,000 per year diversity consultant to know that numbers like that were going to be a problem sooner or later.

The ivies figured this out decades ago. You keep the testing but throw in some mystery variables to get a class makeup that isn't skewed in really obvious ways.

Having admissions numbers of 68% Asian, 21% white and 2% black in 2020 is like wearing speedo swimming trunks at a black-tie formal -- it's not subtle.

The racial breakdown of Fairfax County is:
    62.68% White
    9.17% Black or African American
    0.36% Native American
    17.53% Asian

So I am sure Thomas Jefferson will come out of this just fine.

    Replies: @guest007, @Anon, @Jack D, @Johann Ricke, @NOTA, @Buffalo Joe

One should not look at the demographics of the county but the demographics of the school system.

    From the school systems website:

Demographically, 37.8 percent of FCPS students are White, 26.8 percent are Hispanic, 19.5 percent are Asian, 9.8 percent are Black, 5.7 percent are two or more races, 0.3 are American Indian and 0.1 percent are Native Hawaiian.

A good rule of thumb for having children while living in Fairfax County is that if one’s kid goes to George Mason University, one will be considered a failure as a parent. If one’s child goes to community college (NOVA) one is committing child abuse.

That is the sort of crazy these people are. They are able to make plans -- good ones, effective ones, even. But their goals are insane.

Perhaps "taken leave of their senses" is not the right phrase. The senses are working; they can infer and even reason a bit. But all their thought rests on quicksand.

Don’t be so sure.

Do you want your surgeon to be the guy who won the “merit lottery”?

BTW, there are plenty of schools that are not only 68% black but 100% black and no one seems to have any problem with those. The real problem is that blacks are always casting envious eyes on magic dirt – the white farmer’s land in Rhodesia, the Asian dominated magnet public school in America, etc. Whites and Asians always seem to be hoarding the Magic Dirt and not sharing it equitably with their brown brothers. But the when you do “share” it (usually this means giving it 100% to blacks – Girard College (actually a semi-private boys school in Philadelphia) went from excluding blacks in accordance with the will of its donor to “allowing” them and now it is 100% black) then the Magic Dirt somehow loses its mojo and becomes Tragic Dirt every time. Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn went from producing Nobel Prize winners (when it was mostly Jewish) to producing thugs (once it became mostly minority) until they just closed it down.

Despite your average white or Asian being dumb as well, a proportion of only 21% whites to the mass of Asians is simply pathological.

What race realists and huwite nationalists as well as deluded civnat types should instead advocate for is strict proportionality – all ethnic groups must match the national demographic ratio at all publicly funded institutions – drop the Jews and Asians, up the gudhuwites.

  115. The reason for the high Asian numbers is because many Asians have no outside interests such as sports or just socializing in general. White people built a public school system that catered to their offspring and included plenty of time for extracurricular activities. Asians don’t have any time for that (except for band, maybe) and spend every free moment studying to pass tests.

It used to be a common phrase that “all work and no play, makes Johnny a dull boy”. Looking at Asian personalities as a whole, I’d have to agree. The concern is how will this impact the US when these people are in charge of large parts of society. My guess is that they will have nothing in common and little empathy for the people that make up the majority of society. Seems to be a recurring problem.

  119. @JosephB
The protesters may have a point. If doing well on the admissions test does heavily benefit from after school prep programs, that seems off. I dislike it for the same reason I liked the old SAT: aptitude doesn't care how reach your parents were. If you have the talent, it will show up the test. Unfortunately, I suspect having a larger aptitude component to admissions would not be well received in the current political climate. However, would having the top-ranked student from each grade school be eligible be that terrible? It doesn't care where you started; if you (academically) kick ass in your environment, you've proven yourself. Catching up could be difficult, but possible.

    Replies: @MSP, @guest007

"Merit Lottery" is brilliant doubletalk. Either you choose students by merit or you choose them by lottery. There is no such thing as a "merit lottery". We can look forward to many more of these in our future. Perhaps elections will be replace by "merit election lotteries".

She wasn't a bad wife. During a busy period in her "career", she arranged for a mistress so her husband wouldn't be lonely. That's going above and beyond the call of duty!

Mark David Chapman's loyal Japanese-American wife regularly makes the trip from Hawaii to upstate New York for conjugal visits. Architect Minoru Yamasaki (WTC) dumped his first wife for a white woman, then left her for another. Then he got bored and remarried the first-- who told a reporter she was going to work on being a "good Japanese wife". (Both were from Seattle.)

John was self-aware enough to realize how it would sound if his famously druggie self went public about it, so he didn’t, but in the next few days they were relieved to see reports in the local press of other people reporting it. I believe Pang says in her book that as it drifted away John ran out naked on the balcony screaming “Come back for me! Come back!”

    Nah. Things have changed.

The kids would rather hang out online rather than actually go see a friend in real life.

There are an enormous number of different gadgets to keep you preoccupied. Smartphones, Blu-ray players, iPods, iPads, computers, Netflix, Wii, hundreds of tv channels, etc.

Helicopter parents are anxious about letting the kids out of the house for unsupervised time with friends.

Parties are hard to organize because cops have become strict about ticketing for noise violations and/or underage drinking.

Hanging out in public isn't always easy because of curfew and loitering laws.

If you've got a small kid, he can't go anywhere without a parent around (or child protective services will get on you). Few small kids even play right outside their home (on the lawn or the adjacent street) unsupervised.

Immigrants and downwardly mobile Americans have taken a lot of the cool jobs that teens use to take. So teens can't afford to go out.

The percentage of teens with licenses has declined.

DUI laws are really strictly enforced these days.

Lots of Gen Z teens are not outdoorsy people. They don't like hiking, going in the water, going in the woods, braving the elements (rain, cold, snow), dealing with insects.

Even sports have changed. There was a time, not too long ago, when team mates would hang out together and have parties after games. These days helicopter parents make sure their little athlete doesn't "waste time" socializing, instead forcing him to spend all his time doing homework or practicing. In this increasingly competitive country, parents really want their kids to get a sports scholarship to a Division 1 university. So after high school football games, there's no after-game party at the QB's house. Instead, everyone just goes home. Seriously.

Being a teenager is really boring these days. Teens go through life without having fun adventures or growing independently as individuals. They don't create strong social bonds with fellow teens. Instead, they're either being constantly shuttled to various activities (SAT prep, Key Club, soccer practice, etc.) by their ultra-competitive helicopter parents, or they're sitting in front of a screen like a zombie.

If you're a Boomer or Xer, it's hard to comprehend just how dull their lives are these days.

A first hand TJ story. At the Fairfax County Science Fair, there are three categories for overall winners: individual project, individual project for TJ students, and team projects. For the team projects, two teams are selected for the international competition. Only one of the teams can be from TJ but there is no rule that a winning team has to be from TJ.

While judging teams for overall winner and selecting for the international competition, the best team project, by far, was from two TJ students. The second best project was also from a set of three TJ students and the third best project was from another high school. A south Asian judge with a PhD in IT proposed giving the first place prize to the second best TJ team since the best team was comprised of seniors who had already been admitted to Ivy League schools. Since the second TJ team were juniors, the argument was that the juniors would benefit much more from going to the international competition and getting the prize. All of the non-Hispanic white judges not only said no but said that they would revolt and not sign the award recommendations if the South Asian judges had their way. So in the course of 15 minutes of discussion, South Asian corruption, Tiger Mom mentality, ethnic tribalism, college application gaming, and western ideas of fair play were displayed.

Education is not a scarce good. There’s no reason everyone can’t have it in whatever quality and quantity they want.

“Harvard” embossed on your diploma is a scarce good. Harvard works to make sure of it. But education is not. And seriously, no one gives a flying rats ass where you went to high school. The only benefit of a particular school is the actual education you got from it and the “experience” you had there.

The quality of your education comes from:
    — Your smarts.
    — A decent curriculum. Which is trivially easy to duplicate (what the whole AP syllabus tries to do). Books and now even lectures can be duplicated ad infinitum.
    — Applying butt to chair. (Reading, thinking, doing the work–problems, writing, etc.)

If a bunch more students (parents) want the education at school A … then duplicate it at school B. Heck, duplicate it in classrooms at school C, D, E, F … There’s no particular reason a high school must even be “elite”. The smart kids should be studying at their own “smart kid” pace and level in any high school.

This sort of nonsense simply points out that the whole “public education” thing is way, way past its sell by date. You want to have education available to all–even those with poor parents–to maintain competency of your population, make the most of your talent. (Obviously you also want eugenic fertility to improve your talent … but we all know that’s Nazi stuff.) But there’s absolutely no reason you can’t just voucher the whole thing off and let parents send their kids to whatever school works best for them–and have all schools competing … rather than just be comfy sinecures for education “professionals”.

From the article: "The release bemoaned the fact that despite hiring a specialist to recruit minority students and previously altering admissions standards in 2011, a “significant impact” has yet to be made on “student demographics.” " Since 2011, it has hired an outreach specialist to recruit minority students from middle schools across the county."

They're trying to recruit high school students from across the country? Most blacks and Hispanics don't want to leave home for a strange city at age 15. Their recruiting pool is going to be collected from DC and nowhere else.

TJHS is a science and math specialty school. No wonder they don't have blacks or Hispanics.

"Under current admissions standards, Asians make up 68% of Thomas Jefferson High School students. 21% are white, while 2% are black or Hispanic respectively."

Must. Kneecap. Asians! Since whites are a clear minority at 21%, they're pushing back against all those Asian grinds they have. If the school can't recruit any DC blacks, despite having all those middle-class blacks working government jobs in DC, the black kids must be dumb as hell.

Can i point out the obvious:

Education is not a scarce good. There's no reason everyone can't have it in whatever quality and quantity they want.

"Harvard" embossed on your diploma is a scarce good. Harvard works to make sure of it. But education is not. And seriously, no one gives a flying rats ass where you went to high school. The only benefit of a particular school is the actual education you got from it and the "experience" you had there.

The quality of your education comes from:
    -- Your smarts.
-- A decent curriculum. Which is trivially easy to duplicate (what the whole AP syllabus tries to do). Books and now even lectures can be duplicated ad infinitum.
-- Applying butt to chair. (Reading, thinking, doing the work--problems, writing, etc.)

If a bunch more students (parents) want the education at school A ... then duplicate it at school B. Heck, duplicate it in classrooms at school C, D, E, F ... There's no particular reason a high school must even be "elite". The smart kids should be studying at their own "smart kid" pace and level in any high school.

This sort of nonsense simply points out that the whole "public education" thing is way, way past its sell by date. You want to have education available to all--even those with poor parents--to maintain competency of your population, make the most of your talent. (Obviously you also want eugenic fertility to improve your talent ... but we all know that's Nazi stuff.) But there's absolutely no reason you can't just voucher the whole thing off and let parents send their kids to whatever school works best for them--and have all schools competing ... rather than just be comfy sinecures for education "professionals".

    Replies: @guest007

Believing that students still go work problems is a sign of not being in touch. There are websites where one can put in a differential equation and the webiste will show every step that a students needs to show on the homework.

Hanging out in public isn’t always easy because of curfew and loitering laws.

If you’ve got a small kid, he can’t go anywhere without a parent around (or child protective services will get on you). Few small kids even play right outside their home (on the lawn or the adjacent street) unsupervised.

Immigrants and downwardly mobile Americans have taken a lot of the cool jobs that teens use to take. So teens can’t afford to go out.

The percentage of teens with licenses has declined.

DUI laws are really strictly enforced these days.

Lots of Gen Z teens are not outdoorsy people. They don’t like hiking, going in the water, going in the woods, braving the elements (rain, cold, snow), dealing with insects.

Even sports have changed. There was a time, not too long ago, when team mates would hang out together and have parties after games. These days helicopter parents make sure their little athlete doesn’t “waste time” socializing, instead forcing him to spend all his time doing homework or practicing. In this increasingly competitive country, parents really want their kids to get a sports scholarship to a Division 1 university. So after high school football games, there’s no after-game party at the QB’s house. Instead, everyone just goes home. Seriously.

Being a teenager is really boring these days. Teens go through life without having fun adventures or growing independently as individuals. They don’t create strong social bonds with fellow teens. Same with Hyde Park High and others in the heavily Jewish south side of Chicago back when the SE part of the city was the nicest part of the city. Then the thugs of the black household help took over the school and it plunged from one of the 10 best in the state to one of the worst in the state between about 1940 and 1955.

A former NFL player who is a father himself told me that – “There is no way I’d let my sound play football.”

Meanwhile soccer is now HUGE and increasingly very competitive.

This is the logical error that many Goodwhites make - they once met a black person of high intelligence, ergo the average intelligence of blacks is no different than that of whites.

This is unfortunately not true. Blacks are underrepresented on the right (100+) side of the IQ distribution by a factor of perhaps 6 to 1 vs their prevalence in the general population (and the higher you go the more they are under-represented - when you get to Fields Medal territory or the level of abstract reasoning ability that would make you THE most qualified candidate to clerk for a brilliant and exacting (but race blind) jurist such as the late Justice Ginsburg the number is effectively zero - there are lots of blacks in elite law schools nowadays due to AA but they almost always fall at the bottom of the class - Obama was the rare exception and his genetics were completely different than most American blacks). They are underrepresented not due to "racism" but because very few blacks have that level of intelligence, just as very few whites can run 100 meters in under 10 seconds. Absent affirmative action, elite institutions that select for high IQ on a race blind basis would have black enrollments of no more than 1 or 2%, even in areas with large black populations (e.g. Stuyvesant High School in NYC has 1% black enrollment despite the fact that there are 2 million black people in NYC). So it's not that you are lying or wrong, it's just that you met a very atypical black person. Such people really do exist but they are very rare. The fact that you once met one (one!) is apropos of nothing.

If you try to base national policy on the assumption that all blacks or many blacks or more than a handful of blacks are anything like your black friend in AP Physics, you are going to create a giant mess. Imagine that you create a child friendly dog park based on the fact that you once met a friendly labradoodle who was good with children, but what really shows up at the park is a pack of pit bulls. It's not going to be pretty.

Dawn Sturgess will be pleased to know that she is not really dead.

I really don't understand alt.right Russia fans. Certainly some of the things that Putin has done to restore Russia's dignity are deserving of respect, but poisoning his enemies is not one of them. And following the Moscow line and denying that he does this just makes you look stupid, just like it used to make old Western Leftists look stupid in Communist days. It wasn't a good look then and it's not a good look now.

But Ms Sturgess’s death was surely accidental. The gay Russian assassins operating under Putin’s orders to kill the Skripals just dumped their spare bottle of Novichok in a rubbish bin as they sprinted away from the scene of the crime. How were they to know that Ms Sturgess’s druggie boyfriend would retrieve it and present it to her without first giving it a deadly sniff himself?

On the other hand perhaps Putin, upon hearing the news raised a boozy cheer. Novichok had finally killed someone!

  204. The left has had blacks as the underclass that will bring in socialism or communism the past 50 years. The problem is blacks are barely growing in population while their Latino brothers are out growing them in population. Both groups are not always crazy about each other. In fact, California left prefers the Latinos since they are the majority of Ca’s population not blacks . In fact getting rid of prop 209 benefits Latinos going to college in Ca not blacks since Latinos make up 52 percent of the population while blacks 4 percent of the population of those 18 and under, I predict in 5 years, the hard left will give up the black cause and just hang in with gays and transsexuals.

Journalist Tweets Out Photo Of Computer Screen, Gets Busted For Looking At Tentacle Porn!

If there’s one thing that can distract the nation from James Comey‘s testimony against President Trump, it’s tentacle porn.
For that, we have to thank Newsweek senior writer and MSNBC contributor Kurt Eichenwald, who accidentally tweeted a photo that showed one of his browser tabs was open to hentai.
To those who don’t know (or are with co-workers and pretending to play dumb), hentai is anime porn in the style of Japanese manga that puts characters in very imaginative, sexy situations — like being penetrated by otherworldly tentacle monsters, for example.

  207. Basing admissions to prestigious institutions like Thomas Jefferson High School solely or predominantly on standardized test scores will ensure that no one but Asian test-taking robots benefit from such institutions and eventually dominate all learned professions and public and private leadership positions. No one in their right mind can believe that this kind of meritocratic homogeneity, where only uni-dimensional test-taking robots are at the top of the pecking order, is good for any society, let alone one as diverse as American society. White folks like to pretend that they’re against any kind of “quota system” or “affirmative action” as a matter of principle. But it will become an intolerable principle when no white parent’s child any longer stands a remote chance of entering TJHS or Harvard because they cannot compete with the Asian test-taking robots in terms of standardized test scores. The typical non-Asian American kid usually has more balanced and variant interests than merely spending all their waking hours practicing test-taking. College applications (at least in my day) inquires about other non-academic activities an applicant was involved in high school, and this information also was used in admissions decision-making. To throw these “intangibles” (as they say in sports) out the window in favor of test score solely or primarily is extremely short-sighted.

(Perhaps TJHS in Arlington, VA should think about resolving the problem of a student body comprised of 73 percent Asian and .001 percent black by establishing competitive basketball and football programs to compete with the other athletic powerhouse high schools in Northern Virginia.)

TJHS may have a reputation for educating academically exceptional kids (from a standardized testing perspective), but it’s lack of a diverse student body – not only in terms of ethnic composition, but also in terms of the interests and other capabilities of its student body – makes it a wholly uninteresting and unappealing environment. Why would any parent with an interest in their child’s all-around development want to put him or her in an environment of one-dimensional robots, except for bragging rights, of course. To my mind, given the changing composition of our population and shrinkage of real opportunity for young people, it’s a necessity to get rid of standardized test results as the sole or predominant basis for determining how slots in a highly competitive institution are allocated. As our population continues to expand and diversify (for better or worse) the need for some kind of “quota system” for allocating scarcer opportunity more “equitably” is inevitable. Maybe someone can come up with a name for this allocation process that doesn’t trigger the hated idea of “affirmative action” in the minds of white people. But under whatever name you want to call it, even white folks eventually will agree that it’s sorely needed in this day and age and society.

The native children (i.e., American whites) still live like teenagers have always lived in this country: study, play high school sports, date, go to parties, play outside.

    Replies: @Reg Cæsar, @Excal

I don’t like it either, but it is human nature to do absolutely anything to avoid reality, if is unpalatable.

If you mix highly intelligent white people with the lower classes of blacks, while training them in post-modern cultural sensibilities, they will avoid the dangerous ones, to be sure; but the great majority of them will spend the rest of their lives a) denying that there is anything wrong and b) blaming themselves and their own culture for it. I have seen exactly this happen for myself.

Agree with this comment except for the part that needs fixing:

It is important to keep in mind that the people who are doing all this really have, for all practical purposes, taken leave of their senses a real plan they are carrying out.

    Fixed.

This stuff is not an accident. It's not random. It's not ca-ray-zee. Calling them crazy just gives them cover. It's deliberate, race based, exclusion of People of Whiteness for a larger purpose.

Repeat: It's not crazy, there is an obvious pattern. Open your eyes wide and see what is happening.

    Replies: @Excal

There are many kinds of crazy. There’s the catatonic kind, the I-am-Napoleon kind, the screaming and ranting kind, the psychopathic kind, and so forth.

Then there’s the half rational kind, often found in academia. The rational faculties are working properly (as they are in most crazy people), but they are working with lies.

That is the sort of crazy these people are. They are able to make plans — good ones, effective ones, even. But their goals are insane.

Perhaps “taken leave of their senses” is not the right phrase. The senses are working; they can infer and even reason a bit. But all their thought rests on quicksand.

It is important to understand this, because if one assumes that they are starting from the same place as we are, their behavior ultimately cannot be understood.

  211. @Arthur Biggs
The reason for the high Asian numbers is because many Asians have no outside interests such as sports or just socializing in general. White people built a public school system that catered to their offspring and included plenty of time for extracurricular activities. Asians don't have any time for that (except for band, maybe) and spend every free moment studying to pass tests.

It used to be a common phrase that "all work and no play, makes Johnny a dull boy". Looking at Asian personalities as a whole, I'd have to agree. The concern is how will this impact the US when these people are in charge of large parts of society. My guess is that they will have nothing in common and little empathy for the people that make up the majority of society. Seems to be a recurring problem.

We know. I’d argue that Jewish immigrants from wartime Eastern Europe and their immediate progeny had the same issue — feeling like their very survival was contingent upon maximizing scholastic/career success. Some of us are trying to change this.

In the meantime, folks like Azia Kim (who squatted in a Stanford dorm for a year) and TJ’s own Sara Kim (who forged an acceptance letter offering a unique cross-enrollment at Stanford and Harvard) exist as tragic/hilarious cautionary tales.
