The Gender Gap in Censorship Support

Research suggests women favor inclusivity over academic freedom.

by Cory Clark Ph.D.
The AntiSocial Psychologist
Posted Apr 28, 2021 | Reviewed by Ekua Hagan

In a 2019 study, 59% of women said protecting free speech was less important than promoting an inclusive society, while 71% of men felt opposite.

Two recent studies of online adults revealed that women were more censorious than men.

This gender gap appears smaller among young adults, with both young men and young women having censorship preferences similar to adult women.

In a bid for more transparency to keep the company ‘accountable’ Boeing also released a detailed report of its hiring demographics.

    by Neal Stephenson
    Kindle: $16.99

The #1 New York Times bestselling author returns with a visionary technothriller about climate change.

Neal Stephenson’s sweeping, prescient new novel transports readers to a near-future world where the greenhouse effect has inexorably resulted in a whirling-dervish troposphere of superstorms, rising sea levels, global flooding, merciless heat waves, and virulent, deadly pandemics.

One man has a Big Idea for reversing global warming, a master plan perhaps best described as “elemental.” But will it work? And just as important, what are the consequences for the planet and all of humanity should it be applied?

As only Stephenson can, Termination Shock sounds a clarion alarm, ponders potential solutions and dire risks, and wraps it all together in an exhilarating, witty, mind-expanding speculative adventure.

It’s not just academic freedom – it’s free speech to which inclusivity is now the widely accepted antidote.

  8. Anonymous[425] • Disclaimer says:

Younger generations were the first to realize that free speech means nothing, and that the Boomer ideal of an internet where people exchanged meaningful ideas waa nothing but a pipe dream.

    – Nobody cares about what anyone else has to say, online or off

    – We only come to blogs like this one to blow off steam, tell jokes, laugh, etc

    – Online congregations are echo chambers where people come to blow off steam, which means there is never any critical re-examination of one’s own ideas, because the few people who try do that are perceived as a buzzkill, and dismissesed as “trolls”.

    – Anyone can use the ignore function, which ironically is self-censoring, since it allows the higher-T opposition who weren’t afraid of other people’s words to get a louder voice

    – None of these blogs will ever have a similar impact as mainstream media outlets with a larger audience

So you see, free speech is a losing cause. Do you guys choose to fight any battles that aren’t uphill? It seems like you’re magnetically attracted to unwinnable battles and futile causes over things with zero practical application.

Online speech is going to continue to be restricted and it won’t change anything, because no one cared about what we were saying. The police and the public didn’t care about the crim statistics, immigration, etc. You guys spoke freely for 25 years and no one in power or the general public cared.

  9. Saxon says:

“Inclusivity” is another one of these Orwellian terms that’s popped up as some kind of a priori good in the last decade, along with “Diversity.”

Didn’t Psychology Today unperson Satoshi Kanazawa for posting true but “offensive” things?

  10. Free speech — always a kind of gamble. Takes a bit of guts to gamble, to risk an unwanted outcome. But we take the risk b/c we know that NOT TO is guaranteed to sterilize ALL possibility of freedom. Indeed, any growth, any procreation requires the freedom to make mistakes, to even be deviant.
Better a few ugly “expressions”, than a frozen “inclusive” perfection. (nature has never been “perfect”, it’s always had its uglies….)
Pity some people can’t see the bigger picture…..

Twats . Early on in nursing school I learned that anytime a female was feeling at a loss for a rational response to any suggestion that she was responding inappropriately to a particular situation she would say “don’t yell at me” regardless of the fact that she was the only one raising her voice . Immediately the other girls would cluster around and begin to attack the offender , usually me . It made me think of white blood cells attacking a foreign invader . Pretty effective really it immediately puts the subject on the defensive and the only option is retreat . I wish I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that BS.
A few years ago as I exited my car in a parking lot my door gently touched the side of the car next to me . There was a guy sitting in the drivers seat and he looked up I said “it’s ok there’s no damage done” . He jumped out of his car and ran around to confront me . I knew it was all bluster and the “don’t yell at me” thing popped into my head . I just said “don’t raise your voice to me” it worked like a charm . As he was denying raising his voice which he really wasn’t I gave him a dismissive wave of my hand and went about my business . Those bitches are full of tricks .

The young men are simply adapting to the world around them. More women than ever are in positions of power, of authority: whether directly (as managers, as business owners) or indirectly (HR, media megaphone). Anyone with basic observational skills has noted that women (specifically young women) in the work force are, as a group (spare your anecdote about the brilliant power skirt you know,) inferior to men in pretty much every legitimate aspect of a business model (excluding human resources; I said legitimate). Management, operations, book keeping, logistics, and most of all, customer service. The young females we see working in all the retail chains share one undeniable thing in common: They provide the worst customer service one can imagine, in terms of knowledge, efficiency, and affability*. ( The broads in the trades are slower, take more breaks, need more help carrying materials, and of course, just pissier in general.

*Take Discount Tire. The ones in my area all have young to middle aged men working in their showroom, and their customer service is the best I have ever seen. Friendly, attentive, efficient. Even in the ones staffed with minorities. Not to mention DT’s purchasing model is outstanding. Prices are competitive, warranties honored with free flat repair and rotations on every set of tires bought from them, at any store. When I bought my last truck, they rotated the tires on it for free even thought the tires were not purchased at DT because they took into account all the money I had spent at DT over the years.

THAT is how you create and retain returning customers. Whoever runs that company knows what HE is doing.

Oddly the black boys from SMS goes violent despite all their prettiness, but the white kids go all suicidal. Now the latter explains the censorship support thing. It is pass time to do a mandatory psych evaluation on all expectant mothers. It is also pass time to do mandatory paternity testing at birth, and charge women with fraud if they lie. Finally we have more than enough evidence to suggest men should get full custody of their children unless they is a convicted criminal who has served jail time. Watch prison reform die.

Especially the wokester set in ‘journalism’ which is ALL women, all cunts, all fat, EVERY one of them hateful, you know the ones, the ones that somehow have the power to turn the A-OK symbol into a forbidden racist alert.

Until we tell them to shut the fuck up, they retain their power, a very real form of censorship all in itself. Because censorship means, for women, never having to shut the fuck up. Even you feminist ‘men’ on your White horses know it.

Young men in colleges especially, and in the corporate world such as Google, have to watch their mouths and self-censor. This has got to affect their self esteem, and they must at some level feel like yellow-bellied, lilly-livered wimps and cowards. So I suspect that surfacing this progressive redefinition of free speech during a public opinion survey is a sort of cognitive dissonance avoidance. They want to believe that their craven behavior is on the side of goodness and light.

  34. I think women are more concerned about the uncertain futures of their own children, and thus prefer a more inclusive society.

Freedom of speech is a pretty abstract issue until there is an issue that you want freedom to speak about.

In the current fan revolt going on in the world of English soccer, fans want 51% representation on boards of soccer clubs owned by American billionaires, so that their voice can be heard before stupid decisions are made.

This sounds fanciful but apparently this is the current model of governance at German soccer clubs.

That’s because people are taught at college that boys who want to join adult society need help (they need to be told) how to fit in with the women who run everything. Men are basically larger, less competent women; men earn the right to be with women, by learning to fit in and be more feminine.

Women don’t stand on principle. We need to understand that. Anyone who still thinks Amendment XIX was a splendid idea obviously doesn’t.

Mrs. Michelle Malkin, one of my favorite pundits, a brave and true Conservative/Libertarian, still comes across as lacking principles, when it really comes down to it. As I wrote to Dieter about the post “Michelle Malkin – in the right / no sense of the big picture” a few years back, about a column of Mrs. Malkin’s about the current-at-the-time evil Secretary of Education:

I noted that the problem was not “hey, this Secretary of Education is an evil bastard and is screwing with the kid’s minds.” (to paraphrase). Freedom of Speech is a White idea. The majority of Non-Whites oppose the freedom of expression and the diversity of ideas. Non-Whites favor authoritative regimes and oppose freedom.

Non-Whites have always opposed the freedom of speech. Most young people today are not white. The majority of the youth population today is non-white , so we should expect the freedom of Speech to be eliminated as the white population becomes a minority within the United States by the year 2040.

US population under the age of 40
    Year –Whites–Non-whites
    1990 – 121 M – 35 M
    2020 – 87 M – 77 M
    2030 – 80 M – 85 M

Within the next decade Whites will be a minority of Americans under the age of 40 , the majority of fertile females will be non-white. The trend cannot be reversed, not enough fertile whites. The demographic death spiral has begun, more whites die each year than are born. Whites will need to adjust to an America without our bill of rights to protect us.

Then they too will disappear into obscurity. Their descendants won’t even be able to appreciate their huge contribution to the Global religion of ” inclusivism” , because they will no longer exist.
    How appropriate.

  48. Those is power monopolize the means of persuasion. Those out of power talk about fair play principles like freedom of speech and tolerance of opposing ideas. The powerful flaunt the megaphone while the weak suffer the muzzle. That is the way of the world. If you want the megaphone, get powerful and seize it.

These posh women in this survey see their “team” dominates the megaphone and so naturally they think their enemies should be muzzled. It is an iron rule of power that security will always be the excuse given to monopolize the megaphone. The dangerous get the muzzle, whether they are a supposed danger to “national security”, “community morals”, or to severe ethno-narcissistic wounding. Men need to stop pushing fair-play soy product and do what Team-J do and adopt a “Just Win Baby” attitude. The strong speak and the weak STFU.

Freedom of speech is just a plea by the weak for a share of the means of persuasion. Deep State glowie Herbet Marcuse was very clear about this back in the 60’s with his Repressive Tolerance essay where he called for the Left to grab the megaphone while fitting the Right with the muzzle. But of course, the Left had to go through political reassignment for the plutocrats to trust them with power, and Marcuse was part of the throes of that transformation, which needed to take place. The Left was not going to be the monolithic worker party they once were in the last century. Marcuse was to be at the center of that. It was a huge transformation for the Left to make. They are now going into identity politic mode and Marcuse was resented because of his leading role. But without that leading role and without that transformation, the Left would not survive. The plutocrats were about to play “Trading Places” with cultural power.

And so while the workers were basking in prosperity, busy tricking out their 426 hemi Chargers in their driveways, the Left abandoned class war in favor of bourgeois hedonism and the racial lumpenproletariat. With the Right transfixed by Milton Freidman preaching Open Borders, as fast as you could say Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush, the Mexicans were in and the factories were out. The working class had been cancelled. The New Left was handed the megaphone and the Old Right is now sporting the muzzle, which in the not too distant future may very well turn into the noose, if the power balance continues tilting in its current direction.

‘I think women are more concerned about the uncertain futures of their own children, and thus prefer a more inclusive society…’

That would only make sense if those women belonged to groups that supposedly have been historically excluded.

They don’t; they’re white. If anything, all this affirmative action horseshit tends to lead to the exclusion of their children. Look up what percentage of the population are white gentiles — and what percentage of the admittees to Harvard et al are white gentiles.

There are few to no grounds for a woman to work away from her family or husband. At most, a father can permit his daughter to work under a vetted man to keep her from wandering off to get fucked.

A man letting his woman work where he can’t keep her in his sight is bad enough. Letting her work with/under other men who can’t be trusted is just asking to get cucked (especially when they’re either working under obviously higher rank men like in the office or have a job like in fitness where they show off their goods around other men).

It was traditional around the world for wives to work in their husbands’ own trade under his supervision or in tasks where they could be supervised by relatives/trusted males (farms for one). It was common enough in the cities for a man to sell his unmarried daughters’ labor, under the assumption that the man he was lending her to would keep her from wandering off to get fucked. Hence the word ‘wench’, a very old word that meant “female wagie.”

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/black-homeownership-lags-minneapolis-covenants-11619821762?mod=hp_lead_pos7#comments_sector

    Here’s the first bit:

The homeownership gap between Black and white Americans has grown larger in recent years than at any time since the 1968 passage of the Fair Housing Act. In Minnesota’s biggest city, the gap is more like a canyon.

In the Minneapolis metro area, 77% of white residents own homes, compared with 25% of Black residents—a 52-percentage-point difference, larger than in any other major U.S. city, according to an analysis of census and survey data by the Minnesota State Demographic Center, a state agency.

A trove of new research suggests that one factor is a tool of discrimination from 100 years ago: racially restrictive covenants that were attached to thousands of Minneapolis homes in the early 20th century, prohibiting sales to many minorities.

Such covenants, which emerged nationwide around that time, made it harder for Black people in many cities to own property.

The U.S. Supreme Court in 1948 ruled that the covenants were unenforceable. Minnesota’s legislature banned new covenants in 1953 and prohibited housing discrimination on the basis of race, religion and national origin in 1962.

Yet Minneapolis homes once subject to covenants are more valuable today than those that weren’t, according to data from Mapping Prejudice, a project based at the University of Minnesota—the first to map every known racially restrictive covenant in a major U.S. city.

The new research, completed this year using recently unearthed covenants, makes Minneapolis a unique laboratory for examining and addressing racial housing gaps nationwide. The city was home to George Floyd, who was killed last year in police custody.

    END QUOTE

So restrictive covenants 70-100 years ago (when there were hardly any blacks in Minnesota) somehow resulted in the blacks now in Minnesota occupying tragic dirt, since the persistent bad ju-ju of restrictive covenants keeps them off the magic dirt.

Perhaps the root cause of George Floyd’s “killing” was also that bad ju-ju.

SHOULD Heinz steal a drug, which he cannot afford, that his wife needs to save her life? Eleven-year-old Jake says yes, of course, because ”a human life is worth more than money.” Jake regards this moral dilemma as ”sort of like a math problem with humans,” and then works out the equation. Eleven-year-old Amy comes up with a different solution, considering neither property nor law but the effect that the theft would have on the relationship between Heinz and his wife: ”If he stole the drug, he might save his wife then, but if he did, he might have to go to jail, and then his wife might get sicker again, and he couldn’t get more of the drug, and it might not be good. So, they should really just talk it out and find some other way to make the money.” To Amy, the dilemma is not a math problem with people, but a problem of relationships that extend over time. To many researchers in the field of moral development, Amy’s answer would be considered a clear sign of insufficient or illogical moral reasoning.

For example, Lawrence Kohlberg, the Harvard psychologist who devised a six-stage sequence of moral development based originally on a 20-year study of 84 boys, argued that women tend to get stuck at ”stage three,” where standards of morality and goodness depend on pleasing and helping others. (Women rarely rise to the sublime ”stage six,” where morality stems from ultimate principles that transcend self-interest and nationality.) Kohlberg’s work is the latest in a long line of efforts to explain why women seem to lack courage and conscience, and why their judgments seem so different from those of men. In this century, most notably, Freud told us that women have deficient superegos and therefore deficient consciences (a matter of anatomy), and Piaget suggested that women have deficient cognitive capacities (a matter of socialization). But for all, the problem was that women were not making moral decisions the same way that men were. And for all, that difference implied deficiency.

“How State and Society Invented Adolescence, and Screwed Up Young People” by Tom Woods

“According to Dr. Robert Epstein, adolescence is an artificial construct of recent vintage, unknown in earlier times or indeed in many parts of the world today….”

This is probably true. But in those times and places there was no high school education, and usually no education at all. A boy learned his trade from his father, and usually that trade would be “peasant farmer”. Where we have adolescence, most societies had early assumption of adult responsibilities, in many cases accompanied by early marriage.

It is difficult to see any way to un-invent adolescence while keeping the benefits of a modern technological society.

    From ChalkBeat:

[Summary: The government spends tax dollars to lobby the government (itself) for MORE government.]

Education interests spent more than $20.5 million to lobby [Colorado] government from July 2015 through March this year. About half of that came from public universities, school districts, and other government education entities spending public dollars to influence education policy and funding.

I am so sick and tired of public entities, especially education-related ones, hiring lobbyists (@ high fees + expenses, when the legislature is in-session). The government should be prohibited from hiring lobbyists.

You are 100 percent correct. Even young white men can’t handle any criticism which is why their views on speech are changing (watch how they vehemently attack anyone who brings up overuse of video games).

Younger millennial men (I’m in the middle of the millennial range so I interact with these groups a lot and am a decent judge of this) are openly effeminate. Gen Z does some really lame macho posturing but they are even more volatile and effeminate than millennials, as they are practically allergic to physical labor and prone to hysterical outbursts. Right now restaurants in my area are so short-staffed they are paying ridiculously high wages along with free meals, and these dudes still won’t take the jobs when they are 16-24 and in perfectly good shape. Instead I see working class middle-aged women busting their ass in these positions.

It’s not just single moms it’s the helicopter parents who coddle their kids. The kind of moms who teach bad lessons by cutting the crusts off little Aiden’s sandwiches. That creates mentally soft kids, including soft boys.

People my age are bad enough (at 31, many of our former friends are pretty resentful of my husband and I making decent incomes) and the ones slightly younger are worse. They don’t like to debate rationally and have little concept of self-improvement. I suspect the relatively recent influx of whiny comments on the more “hot button” threads derives from people in this age group who discovered this blog in the past couple of years. I recognize the differences in writing styles.

Hmmm! Increasing Boeing’s black workforce sounds like they are doing a lot in that effort, but do the arithmetic: 140,000 x 6.4% = 8,960. Increase that number by 20% and one gets 10,752. Divide that by 140,000 and that’s 7.7% of the workforce. Blacks make up 13% of the US’s population, so shouldn’t they work towards 18,200 black employees (140,000 x 13%)? My sense is that Boeing’s super-majority white executives know deep down that finding enough qualified, competent black to get to the 10,752 figure will be hard enough, if not impossible. So throwing around a claim that they intent to increase black employment in the company by 20% sounds impressive and socially progressive, when it’s anything but. It’s just boob bait for the SJW’s. And if, IF, they can get just to the 10,752 number, one can rest assure it will be in areas that have nothing to do with the actual construction of airplanes (e.g., HR, janitors, etc.). And don’t expect the percentage of black executives to greatly increase either. Five years from now Boeing will be making to the pledge yet again to aggressively increase minority employment. Everyone will have forgotten the pledge made in 2021. As Steve always points out, who can remember that far back?

In Germany, you can now apparently demand reparations due to damage caused by Global Warming which haven’t even happened yet. It’s not quite clear what’s going on here:

German government told to firm up climate laws by top court after protest by activists

The highest court in Germany has ruled that the country’s 2019 climate change law failed to make sufficient provisions, siding with a young female activist and giving the government until the end of the year to make amendments.

On Thursday, the German Constitutional Court sided with a number of plaintiffs, many of them young, who said the country’s climate laws failed to make sufficient provisions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The court, however, did not say the law violated the rights of future generations, as had been suggested by the plaintiffs.

“The challenged provisions do violate the freedoms of the complainants, some of whom are still very young,” the court said in a statement. “The provisions irreversibly offload major emission reduction burdens onto periods after 2030.”

One of the plaintiffs, Sophie Becksen, claimed that rising sea levels caused by climate change would engulf the North Sea island of Pellworm on which her family farms, leaving her with no inheritance.

But I would say “millenial anxiety + EUR printing presses == potential payouts”

Women have always been more supportive of order over truth while men are more likely to rebel and question the establishment. Sociology professors even meet privately on how to deal with the “sticklers” of their classes (White men that ask too many questions).

“Feminism Was Never Not Rotten” – written by a very reasonable Karen (Straughan)
    https://antifeministpraxis.com/2017/03/31/feminism-was-never-not-rotten/

Interesting post. Among the points that Straughan mentions is that many suffragettes had “eugenics enthusiasm”. This should not be surprising, because eugenics was popular among educated people, socialists, and radicals in the early 20th Century. However, it is one of the inconvenient facts about early feminists that Straughan points out are seldom mentioned today.

A quick search discovers that there was indeed a convergence of feminism and eugenics:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenic_feminism

Prominent eugenicists included Emmeline Pankhurst, who received fawning media coverage in the UK on the centenary of the British 1918 Representation of the People Act which gave women the vote.

Compare Pankhurst with Ronald Fisher, the founder of both Population Genetics and modern Statistics, who was also a eugenicist. Fisher is subject to a campaign of vilification that aims to erase his enormous and lasting contributions to knowledge.

If Fisher is to be erased from history because he was a eugenicist, the same should apply to Pankhurst. Of course, the real reason for the hatred of Fisher is that he committed the ultimate crime: stellar achievement whilst being a cis-gendered straight white man.

Anyone who has a few hours to spare might find interesting results by researching the attitudes of liberal heroes who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries on matters such as race, immigration, eugenics, and homosexuality. It would not be surprising to find that many of them had views that were part of the mainstream when they lived, but are anathema today. Not surprising to us, that is, but clear evidence of a double standard when present-day liberals seek to un-person historical figures whom they dislike.

The Academy absurdly expects historic figures to have present-day political views, and is determined to cancel the reputation of any who fail the test – but only those who have not previously been canonized by the Academy itself. This double standard should be exposed.

The increased violence and suicide attempts are another outcome of the feminization of young men. Younger men are more emotional now. They aren’t taught to keep a stiff upper lip and not get upset and to stay cool, calm and rational acting.

The are also more preoccupied with their looks now. Going to the gym to work out has become more common in recent years. Young guys also try to improve their personality and attempt to use PUA methods advocated out in the manosphere to manipulate women. Women traditionally primarily used physical attractiveness, personality and manipulation of males (as shown in a hundred old film noir movies with their femme fatales) while men tried to be a good breadwinner. This has slowly reversed. Many young men now make little effort to work, especially since the flood of money being printed and passed out by the government began. It’s now harder to find barbers, auto mechanics, taxi drivers and so on and numerous employers have complained about the difficulty of finding willing workers.

Biden administration wants to use third-party ‘extremism’ researchers to spy on Americans – media

A CNN report on Monday (“Biden team may partner with private firms to surveil suspected domestic terrorists online”) gave a glimpse into what the coming war on domestic dissent could look like. Homeland Security and intelligence agencies, rather than waiting for new powers and heightened funding, are considering outsourcing some surveillance work to research groups and NGOs.

The DHS is limited in how it conducts surveillance, the report explains. It cannot, for example, impersonate right-wingers on forums and chat rooms. However, a panoply of researchers, journalists and nonprofits have been doing this for years. According to DHS officials who spoke to CNN, the agency wants to use research firms to gather the data it’s forbidden from gathering itself. The FBI and National Security Council are reportedly coordinating on the effort, a source added.

It is unclear who these firms could be. However, some of the biggest names in the area include so-called anti-hate groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League, and ‘fact checking’ firms like Bellingcat. A note for women: you get to control your son a whole lot until they turn 18. If you just can’t stop being control-freaks, if you can’t dial back the meddling in the life of your son(s) … don’t expect to see or hear from them much after that. Maybe for a long time.

It was a White Man named Hugh Hefner who was behind it and most importantly, funded the entire legalize abortion movement.

And how did Hugh Hefner make the money to pay for Roe vs Wade and the propaganda leading up to it? White men who bought his magazine and the products advertised in his magazine paid for Roe vs Wade.

Reg, I am reading “War of the Century, When Hitler Fought Stalin” by Laurence Rees. Stalin and his secret police considered anyone who did not follow the party line and express the policies exactly to be “an enemy of the state.” Equal to some one who engaged in sabotage. Free speech in this country is a fragile concept. Sad.

Younger generations were the first to realize that free speech means nothing

You are a child and your knowledge of the world is limited to what saw on your cell phone yesterday.

Free speech is the indispensable pre-condition of progress in science.
Free speech was and is the starting point for securing essential political rights.
Free speech is a necessity of life to any thinking man, many of whom have valued it above their lives.
What you take for granted is something fought for and hard won by thinking men over thousands of years from Socrates onward.

The article links to a May 2019 Knight Foundation College Pulse ‘FREE EXPRESSION ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES’ study of American college-aged men and women. There is indeed a huge racial gap along with the gender gap.

And indeed White Males are the only race/sex cohort who by overwhelming majority value freedom of speech—in fact, who value even just basic civility of allowing someone to speak (if a speaker is being shouted down obviously they’re not aggressors in position of strength bullying someone but rather victims of intolerant loud aggressive bullies shouting them down. Yet this is called a “safe space” and “inclusivity”, because women and BIPOX care so much about the feelings of others, the poor and downtrodden…)

Nearly six in 10 (58 percent) college men say it is never acceptable to shout down speakers or try to prevent them from talking. Substantially fewer college women agree. About four in 10 (41 percent) college women agree that this behavior is never appropriate while a majority say this is sometimes (53 percent) or always (5 percent) acceptable.

White students are far more likely than students of color to oppose actions designed to shut down speakers. More than half (53 percent) of white students say it is never acceptable to try and prevent speakers on campus from expressing their views while fewer Hispanic (41 percent), black (38 percent) and Asian Pacific Islander students (37 percent) agree.

Importantly, there is a wide gender gap in the views of white students. Nearly two-thirds (65 percent) of white male students say shouting down speakers is never acceptable, a view shared by fewer than half (45 percent) of white female students.

Ideas matter, and productive (true) ideas drive out destructive (false) ideas.

If power determines what can be said, how did most of mankind get out from under rule by warlords or rule by the Divine Right of Kings? How do you explain human progress, classical liberalism, the Enlightenment? How did so many people who came to America with no money, no contacts, and no power achieve ownership of property, prosperity, and a family?

And if “not hiring diverse” isn’t an option, here’s plan B: hire totally unqualified members from the diverse groups, who are fully aware that they aren’t qualified and are getting paid for a no-show job in exchange for filling out occasional paperwork (and who don’t mind it).

“Inclusivity” is another one of these Orwellian terms that’s popped up as some kind of a priori good in the last decade, along with “Diversity.”

‘Inclusive’ goes back farther than the past decade. It was already appearing, armed with its contemporary connotations, in the 1990s, just after the first big wave of PC crashed onto the West’s cultural shores in the late 80s.

I recall being involved in a church mission-statement writing exercise in the mid-1990s (and let’s leave aside for now the question of whether a church should take upon itself the exercise of formulating such a thing in the first place).

Another member of our church council was adamant that the word ‘inclusive’ be included in our church’s mission. In the context of ‘go and make disciples of all nations’, and ‘in Christ there is no Jew or Greek’, it was hard at that time to argue against ‘inclusivity’ on any prima facie grounds, especially since my church had a very multinational congregation. It was not obvious yet what ‘inclusivity’ was soon serve as shorthand for in the common vernacular, but I had a feeling of dis-ease about the whole exercise in general, and that word in particular.

Of course, I found out later that this council member was pushing a typical proto-Woke mainline Protestant agenda featuring lots of rainbow flags, ‘interfaith dialoguing’, and so on. He knew what ‘inclusivity’ meant already, although I was just waking up to it at the time.

Yeah, but it buys a whole lot more in Olmsted County. Amazingly, my wife’s cousin’s wife drives a half hour to La Crosse, where she hops a Mayo bus with a bunch of others to Rochester. That’s one serious commute. Mayo does have branch clinics around, though, and people starting out may settle for that while waiting for an opening closer to home.

In my comment I didn’t give a beginning point. I was thinking of men I knew as a child in the early sixties versus men after that. The feminizing effects started with the increase of welfare in the sixties and the rise of single mothers raising children alone.

Violent crime did drop but this was due to there being fewer young men as Boomers aged. The middle class moved to the suburbs to put physical distance between them and criminals or stayed in the city and adopted crime prevention methods like burglar alarms, guns, fences and so on and this decreased crime. There was also a large increase in the prison population and that reduced crime. The introduction of harsher law enforcement methods also reduced crime.

Over the last decade these harsher methods have been relaxed and more efforts have been made not to imprison young males. This has resulted in big crime increases. Young men hadn’t really become less violent and crime prone. Extreme measures had been taken to keep a lid on their violent criminal tendencies and once this lid was lifted it was then exposed that they were as bad as ever.

Possibly the majority of all women. They may also have preferred Dewey over Truman. Women were more GOP than men from 1920* until about 1970. Similar data exist in the UK.

Women tended to be more conservative voters than men, probably because so many were married. Women didn’t embrace the welfare state until they had grown up under it. That’s what they conserve now.

*Partisanship by sex is muddy before 1920 because most of the states where women already voted were in the West, much of which was Democratic for reasons other than sex. The one area more Democratic than the West was the South, which was the least suffragist part of the country. Like I said, muddy.

Hey Alden. Firstly, I don’t know much about CA Governor Ronald Reagan (only the part about his laying the law down on the rioting students at Berzerkely), but I do know a lot about his Presidency. You do know that the Presidency is not the same as the whole House of Representin’, right? Reagan may have erred in making that promise to dismantle the DOE (that had been a reward by Jimmy Carter to the teacher’s unions for their support), but it wasn’t like he could make the law. He worked against a highly unfavorable ratio of D’s to R’s in the House the whole time.

I don’t deny that White Men, even White Men of Unz, have done a lot to destroy this country via Socialism. You know a lot of political history. However, without White Men, there would have been no free and prosperous nation to begin with. Where were the female, black, black female (ugghh), or Indian John Lockes, James Madisons, Ben Franklins, and Thomas Jeffersons? We’d be living with no written language, in caves, if we were LUCKY. We would be dreaming of living in a cave!

The wise Founders of this country let the individual States decide who may vote in elections. The nation remained the freest when only White Men with property could vote. They knew the evils of Socialism and Collectivism. They were bound to be more principled. Well, then you had multiple Constitutional Amendments over the years that forced the States to allow this, that, and the other to vote.

No, Alden, it wasn’t me who brought it up, but I agree with those who note that the single women are the worst as far as voting against liberty goes. They want The State to be a replacement husband. Monetarily, they get it.

You should read what I wrote back then about Michelle Malkin. Again, she’s one of my favorite pundits/activists and a very courageous lady. However, just as the Chinese never get to the root of the problem (they always want DIFFERENT leaders who aren’t corrupt, rather than NO leaders), she was against the Secretary of the DOE at the time, rightfully so, but not against the DOE in principle.

I certainly agree that Marxism is not a new idea; indeed it is a retelling of the most ancient of mankind’s myths. A binary opposition between good and evil, it is a mutation of Millennial Christianity which itself is a mutation of Messianic Judaism. Where I disagree is that Marxism with Chinese Characteristics has already WON in the marketplace of productivity, and win soon win in military might, and happiness. Unless of course we are to believe the moribund carcass of the US and Europe are going to pull off a Tom Brady-like comeback in the fourth quarter and miraculously defeat the ChiComs?

Power always attempts to control the means of persuasion, but it is not simply through control of speech that one achieves power. It is a symptom of power, not a cause. Our current elites have simply grabbed the megaphone of a dying power and are its shrill death throes. The way to gain power is through a combination of controlling the three major areas of human society, the means of production (economy), the means of reproduction (family), and the means of division (military). Marxists describe human progress as man’s increasing control over nature; the evolving modes of production that allow us to progressively more easily produce our daily bread. Marx was a huge stan of capitalism, just read the first few pages of the Communist Manifesto. Marxism can be summarized as “Capitalism with a Happy Ending” once the bourgeois intelligentsia like Marx himself or Xi Jinping gain power and deploy scientific socialism.

Marx in Chapter 33 of Capital discusses the reason the US was so prosperous during his life. The key to capitalism is the unnatural, Frankenstein-like creation of a proletariat. This is a class free to sell their own labor, but also crucially free from any means of subsistence so that they MUST sell their labor if they want to eat. Through the process of primitive accumulation, the peasants are forced off the land and into the cities. But overseas, the goals of a settler colony contradict those of the capitalist class. Cheap land is the quickest way to ensure no workers for the factories.

We have seen that the expropriation of the mass of the people from the soil forms the basis of the capitalist mode of production. The essence of a free colony, on the contrary, consists in this, that the bulk of the soil is still public property, and every settler on it can therefore turn part of it into his private property and his individual means of production, without preventing later settlers from performing the same operation. This is the secret both of the prosperity of the colonies and of their cancerous affiiction – their resistance to the establishment of capital. ‘Where land is very cheap and all men are free, where every one who so pleases can easily obtain a piece of land for himself, not only is labour very dear, as respects the labourer’s share of the produce, but the difficulty is to obtain combined labour at any price.”

Later Marx says explains how the huddled masses help cure this American cheap land “anti-capitalist cancer”

On the one hand, the enormous and continuous flood of humanity, driven year in, year out, onto the shores of America, leaves behind a stationary sediment in the East of the United States, since the wave of immigration from Europe throws men onto the labour market there more rapidly than the wave of immigration to the West can wash them away. On the other hand, the American Civil War has brought in its train a colossal national debt and, with it, a heavy tax-burden, the creation of a finance aristocracy of the vilest type, and the granting of immense tracts of public land to speculative companies for the exploitation of railways, mines, etc. In short, it has brought a very rapid centralization of capital. The great republic has therefore ceased to be the promised land for emigrating workers. Capitalist production advances there with gigantic strides, even though the lowering of wages and dependence of the wage-labourer has by no means yet proceeded so far as to reach the normal European level.

Afterwards Fordism and post-WW2 Keynesianism played their roles in creating American prosperity. The key, as Adam Smith also agrees, is (relatively) high salaries instead of high profits and a tamping down of monied interests. In short, America’s past economic success was always a reflection of its ability to combat concentrations of wealth. In its unique ability to at once tap the productive powers of the capitalist beast while tempering its tendency towards the immiseration of the masses. The fear of Marxism itself helped temper plutocratic greed.

But then Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush decided to betray the American working class and our history now is one of parasitical consumption of the wealth our progeny created as America slides towards terminal decline.

My Teen Is About to Fall Down the Male-Power Incel Rabbit Hole
How do I help him through this crisis of masculinity?

    Dear Care and Feeding,

My son is 14, and he’s coping with identity issues that I could really use some advice about. Last night, he was complaining about English class. “All we talk about is stuff like, I dunno. How women are so great and can defend themselves and shit.” Alarm bells, right? I probed a little, and he started getting upset. He talked about the girls in his class being aggressive towards the boys, accusing them of … he wasn’t sure what. Mumbled a few things about sexism, the patriarchy.

“You know, this whole ‘kill all men’ thing.’” And with that, he burst into tears. “I’m white—I’m male—and I’m probably straight!” he sobbed (at 14, he maintains that the jury is still out on that last one). “It’s like, I can’t say anything! And the girls, they can say anything they like!” Of course, we talked about those girls being out of line, but also about how real sexism is—that he can be proud of who he is and support feminism (and Black Lives Matter, and LGBTQ rights, etc.) at the same time. And ignore purposefully provocative stuff like #killallmen.

Still, I’m concerned. My feeling is that he’s pretty well inoculated against racist and homophobic propaganda. But clearly, he’s struggling with his masculinity. I really worry that he might stumble across a few clever Jordan Peterson videos and end up falling down some nasty male-power incel rabbit hole … Do you have any advice as to how to deal with this? In particular, do you know of any good age-appropriate books or podcasts or shows or whatever that deal with these topics—especially the “crisis of masculinity”—in a sensitive way? A way that’s in sync with feminist values?

Alden, just about everything your bring up in all of these comments is White Men vs. White Men. What does all that prove? Of course there have been White men Marxists, Communists, Socialists, Anarchists, what-have-you, along with the guys with Conservative principles. The problem is that women in general don’t stick to any principles.

Those women against the busing? Perfect example – when their own kids were affected, good on ’em for helping the men fight back, but did you notice whether they won or not? Too late, wasn’t it? That’s what happens when you don’t defend principles to begin with. There are thousands of private schools that were built in the South, “coincidentally” in the early 1970s. Who actually planned and built those? White men. Ever heard of a female anything like Barry Goldwater? Name one.

Highly moralistic men pay all their taxes because of universal principle. Immoral men and women avoid paying taxes so as to keep some money to support their own children rather than giving it away to black and brown kids whose fathers don’t support them.

Nope, you seem to be confusing highly compliant men with highly principled ones. Highly principled men are against paying taxes to support the raising of other men’s children, i.e. against Socialism. You will find a much bigger majority of women, at least single ones, voting for Socialist causes than against them.

I support doing all deals one can in cash and avoiding all taxes one can. That money is not helping us – in most parts of the country it supports a worthless non-White Middle Class working in governments at all levels, who have been hired to implement more control and screw us out of more of our money.

Free speech is the indispensable pre-condition of progress in science.

Freedom of scientific inquiry and public free speech aren’t the same thing. See China for example, where citizen free speech is restricted, but there is much freedom of science. Arguably more than in the USA.

Also, everyone in the West agrees that the truly important research has to be censored to prevent others (like Nazis, the CCP, Al-Qaeda, etc) from finding out about it. And you have to have relevant credentials to publish science, there is peer review, etc. Nobody believes science should be like a blogspot comment section where everyone can speak their worthless ass delusions.

Free speech was and is the starting point for securing essential political rights.

Which are mostly useless, as political rights are the right to vote for one hapless stooge over another, as we in the West have learned.

Free speech is a necessity of life to any thinking man, many of whom have valued it above their lives.

Comedy gold. You can’t show me a single example of many people valuing free speech over their own lives. You’ve been playing too many video games, and are in dire need of an ass whipping.

What you take for granted is something fought for and hard won by thinking men over thousands of years from Socrates onward.

Laughable. Freedom of speech has been mostly absent tbroughout history, including Western history. Socrates was imprisoned for a good reason.

If you can’t speak your mind, you can’t have a mind, and if you don’t have that you are nothing.

There’s no objective physical evidence for anything called a “mind”. What you’re doing is jumping from one bullshit noun to another.

  188. If we are to censor free speech, I suggest we embrace this and ban all publicly available social media. Don’t just ban specific speech, ban it all! “Preempt hate speech.”

Didn’t Psychology Today unperson Satoshi Kanazawa for posting true but “offensive” things?

Does anyone know the history of that? I am familiar with the controversy about his 2011 blog post, but not much else.

These two links give some overview.
    https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/the-data-are-in-regarding-satoshi-kanazawa/
    https://forbetterscience.com/2020/11/30/satoshi-kanazawa-and-other-racist-galileos/

From the second link. Given that the author is Jewish, I wonder if he feels the same about Jews basically qualifying as whites. His Twitter account is suspended, but some tweets still exist in Google caches. At least the bio is funny: “Failed scientist, now certified Troll with slanderous website. Tweets science/medicine/envir/HigherEd/human”

Kanazawa is an evolutionary psychologist. This is a science area populated mostly by white men (as a Japanese, Kanazawa is basically qualified).

This gives an idea about his level of bias and/or intelligence.

PS: I strongly recommend the aptly named books Inferior and Superior by Angela Saini)

There is some interesting information about Kanazawa in the post, albeit in the form of a hatchet job, but perhaps the best part is the appearance of an “And yet, it moves.” tweet from iSteve in the comments. ; )

Thanks. I would argue the current ‘feels’ left is more feminine-oriented and this perspective carries over to public policy. (Think empathizers vs systematizers). There are obvious policy implications like Affirmative Action, but it also relates to issues like Coronavirus policy. Even on Unz, few seem able to analyze the lockdowns via a cost-benefit analysis – ie, does the lost life from lockdowns exceed the life saved from lockdowns (assuming the “Science” for the sake of argument).

I’ve posted recently about phthalate poising, the resulting feminization of the male brain, and how this may all be connected to Wokianity and the decline of the West.

Anyways, here’s an example of how my hyper-male brain (my 2:4 digit ratio is apparently at least 1.5 SD below the male average) looks at lockdown policy:

The young females we see working in all the retail chains share one undeniable thing in common: They provide the worst customer service one can imagine, in terms of knowledge, efficiency, and affability*.

At the Mall of America and the airport nearby, many of the shopgirls are East African. Same with the baristas– though locally-based Caribou balances that with some stereotypical Minnesota blonds, unlike Starbucks.

These young ladies haven’t assimilated to female anger yet, and will give you the coquettish service you might have seen in France or Italy. As far as expertise goes, the Ethiopians know their coffee and the Somalis women’s clothes. (Though not the slutty kind.)

It’s no surprise they’re popular with employers. And there is frequent train service from their neighborhood, so they’re on time even in the winter.

Where is the United States vs. The rest of the world in turning out intelligent young adults, we used to lead the world but no longer. Socrates was a “skeptical” twit. He was the classic malcontent who subverted his society only to offer rejection of tradition. If Socrates lived much much later he would’ve been either a Civil Rights puppet for Globohomo like Marty Looter Kang (a Communist fedora tipper who with other Civil Rights Thugs like Rosa Parks was either getting funded by the likes of big business or was a chosen actor), a New Atheist (complete with getting the Dawkins treatment), a LBGTPOAS shill (complete with saying that it’s normal for adult men to shove cocks up their asses and chop them off), an anarchkiddie, or some other form of Leftoid. Socrates did what he did when the Classic Greeks were on the decline, before healthy cultures conquered (Macedon, Rome).

What you fail to realize is that EVERY society has taboos. Forbidden speech. Liberal ones are no exception. Such societies are also dependent on threats/use of coercion and “soft power” (propaganda for one) to maintain themselves. In their case, much is used for maintaining the illusion there isn’t a ruling caste/conspiracy (“hidden power” rather than open power in traditional societies before the 1600s). Today Globohomo Society is using what it can to hide observations on race and sex since it wouldn’t be able to finish its schemes (destruction of the White Man, turning the world into a global Brazil) otherwise. Hence the use of hatecrime law, censorship, We Wuz Kangz history, Cuckservativism (see the classic “unions/government destroyed detroit” or “hispanics le conservative” or even the ultimate “america is muh ideals and not blood”), endless yapping about Hitler/Nazis (complete with reframing WW2 as a war between PoCs and a few “good whites” against Europa) thanks to the Krauts serving as the sacrifice for Globohomo’s world to come ala Marduk slaying Tiamat.

    https://reactionaryfuture.wordpress.com/2016/03/05/the-iron-law-of-rebellious-tools/

First, pick a rebellion, any rebellion. For my purposes I will stick with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Obviously this movement had many famous rebels who bubbled up like a force of nature and were the embodiment of the zeitgeist of progress which just can not be stopped. Ever. Progress is a bitch. So we have three very famous examples of leaders of the Civil Right’s Movements massively successful rebellion: Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X. Now if I can demonstrate that each of these examples had strong backing from within the power structure of the USA, then the iron law is maintained, if not, then it fails.

the iron law stands here, and to drive it home and provide even more context, let’s try Martin Luther King and his Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Here is a wonderful article from the Chicago Tribune dated February 11 1968. Please read it, its fascinating, and here is the actual grant letter for (in current money) $1,780,741.18. Here is some more for training “ leaders” So rebellious, such an inevitable force of progress. This is from only one of many foundations as well. Just go fishing with the names of the major USA foundations on the The King Centre website which has a number of primary records. They don’t hide it, so you can find the following on Rockefeller “Rockefeller and Dr. King were good friends… In addition, Rockefeller was a major donor of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC)” The conspiracy theorists have a point.

True , but women have controlled reproduction since the pill was introduced followed by legalized abortion.

Today there is no stigma to having bastard children , so we have more illegitimate children. In 1964 just 3% of white births were illegitimate, today 30% of white births are illegitimate. Partly this is the fault of males who can no longer be coerced into shotgun marriages.

Not sure if they were all shotgun marriages , but in the 1950’s when teenage pregnancy was at its peak , 30% of brides were pregnant when they were married.

This seems to be a common opinion among Boomers, but educational standards in America have only risen since the 1970s, and the USA improved, rather than declined, in global rankings of test performance. Today the USA ranks ahead of Japan, and behind a small number of Nordic and East Asian countries in PISA scores:

It came at a heavy cost, of course. Young people today spend hours more on homework, than did Boomers and Gen X. Late millennials and Gen Z had to pass tough subjects like Calculus, which boomers never had to take. This has greatly hampered their social lives, and made them miserable, and Boomers are apparently not only not concerned about their suffering, but erroneously calling them stupid.

It’s just one more reason why there’s going to be a holocaust for everyone over the age of 45.

Once humans have some kind of government, neither eugenics nor dysgenics happens by accident. State policy always has some influence on reproductive patterns. The policies of white countries in general are now the most devastatingly dysgenic in history. The eugenicists of a hundred years ago were mostly concerned with the proliferation of the unfit within a given race and in a particular country. We should be glad if that were still the biggest problem. Nowadays, the combination of open borders and welfare benefits sucks millions of aliens from other continents into the gene pool.

A society that intelligently wished to persist into the great-grandchildren generation would certainly put eugenics/dysgenics on the criteria by which they judge all policies. A mantra that everyone should repeat and know: “anything you tax, you discourage; anything you subsidize, you encourage.” We currently encourage the reproduction of the most damaged and dysfunctional people, through programs such as SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, free school lunches, Section 8, etc., etc. We obtain the funds for that subsidization by taxing middle-class families (thereby discouraging their reproduction). It’s the core problem of our times.

Free speech in the US came from an attitude of weakness. The Bill of Rights was targeted towards the Federal government by the same men who had just spent many years fighting against the English Crown. So the men pushing it were looking to be in a “free” speech sweet spot. They were smart enough to know all about “new boss, same as the old boss” 200 years before Baba O’Riley was released. The founding fathers didn’t want Alexander Hamilton’s Federalists smashing their speech from above but the states most certainly thought they would be able to control speech emanating from below them. In the event the Feds of course did crush speech with the Alien and Sedition Acts as soon as they felt their power growing. Throughout the 19th century, there was widespread censorship enforced by the men in power, both federal and state level, in the US. So it is an attitude of power to crush speech.

The Black Cloud by Fred Hoyle is sorta climate change based.

    https://old.evolbiol.ru/cloud/cloud_eng.html

“It might be worthwhile mentioning the possibility of long-term climatic changes,” remarked Marlowe. “Although this may not be of very great importance in the next year or two, I can’t see how it can fail to be vitally important in the long run — assuming we’re going to have these bi-annual eclipses of the Sun.”

“What have you in mind, Geoff?”

“Well, surely we can’t avoid moving into a new Ice Age. Past Ice Ages show how delicately the Earth’s climate is balanced. Two periods of intense cold, one in winter and the other in summer, must tip the balance on the Ice Age — the Ice Age plus side, I would say.”

“You mean that ice sheets will sweep down over Europe and North America?”

“I can’t see how it can be otherwise, although it won’t happen in the next year or two. It’ll be a slow cumulative process. As Chris Kingsley says, Man’ll have to come to terms with his environment. And I guess the terms won’t be altogether to his liking.”

    “Ocean currents,” said Alexandrov.

“I don’t understand,” said the Prime Minister.

“What I imagine Alexis means,” Kingsley remarked, “is that there is no certainty that the present pattern of ocean currents will be maintained. If it isn’t, the effects might be completely disastrous. And this might happen quite quickly, quicker than an Ice Age.”

“You said it,” nodded Alexandrov. “Gulf Stream go, gets bloody cold.”

The Prime Minister felt he had heard enough.

It did happen but it was pretty rare. I like to read social history autobiographies from “elder days before the Fall” – one was by a police officer who started in London but ended up in a rural village and had to deal with a father who had a child by his daughter. But it was a scandal in the village.

Isn’t Alden a social/probation worker? I think that job can give you the worst view of humanity, I knew a sweet girl broken by her child protection role.

In the slums of the industrial cities, Robert Roberts, writing about his childhood in Edwardian Salford in “A Ragged Schooling”.

Then our district, like all others of the same kind, featured one or two of those families, often large, in which the mother had become a cypher. Worn out, perhaps, by too much child bearing, or broken by chronic disease, she had lost all authority, her power, privileges and duties (all duties?) being taken by an eldest daughter. The husband might still remain in the full vigour of life.

Neighbours watched these father-daughter relationships closely, watching for the mutual smiles, gestures, intimacies, indeed any little sign which might indicate a regard that passed beyond the paternal or filial. Some women were experts at this sort of detection.

Usually, of course, the interrelationship passed muster – everything stood above board. Now and then, however, suspicion would grow into certainty and a family’s status begin to crumble swiftly, a fall which youngsters would eventually feel without at all knowing the reasons for it.

“I’m white—I’m male—and I’m probably straight!” he sobbed (at 14, he maintains that the jury is still out on that last one).

It may indeed be. Contra Gay doctrine, the possibility for an individual’s sexuality to not only remain fluid into and even throughout adolescence, but also to ultimately be shaped by influences during said crucial formative period, would seem well within the range of probability.

Merely labeling oneself can itself influence one’s behavior to fit the label. It would therefore behoove an adolescent to delay the adoption of a specific sexual identity– at least of a non-normative or aberrant one. And while all sexual activity is best avoided at that age, the potential long-term effects of engaging in any form thereof that is deviant or inherently, objectively unwholesome are of especial concern.[1]

how real sexism is—that he can be proud of who he is and support feminism (and Black Lives Matter, and LGBTQ rights, etc.) at the same time.

Every boy must be taught to respect and value women. Every youth (boy or girl) must be taught to treat each individual one encounters with a certain minimal respect and dignity, and judge him as an individual, based on the behavior and character he exhibits. At the same time, every youth must also be taught— if for no other reason than that of self-preservation— the harsh realities enumerated in John Derbyshire’s The Talk: Nonblack Version. The lessons therein, the subtitle notwithstanding, are actually quite applicable not just to whites but to decent and civilized blacks as well.

What about anti-white and heterophobic propaganda? How well inoculated against those forms of hatred and bigotry is your son?

But clearly, he’s struggling with his masculinity.

Many boys do. The transition into manhood can be difficult, much more so for some than for others. It is axiomatic that every boy needs the attention, supervision, influence, and nurturing of a loving, strong, protective, exemplary father. In cases where that is not possible, the closest alternative possible must be sought. The ideal, wholesome masculinity is a synthesis of numerous, refined, counterbalanced traits. It is neither machismo nor “soyboyism”.[3]

I really worry that he might stumble across a few clever Jordan Peterson videos and end up falling down some nasty male-power incel rabbit hole …

That statement is downright laughable. The first clause of the sentence is incongruous with the last. Of all the potential influences that a young man is liable to fall under, Jordan Peterson would have to be among the most benign. Quite positive, wholesome even. For whatever his faults and shortcomings, the basic advice and direction that Jordan Peterson offers to young men would (on the whole, at least) appear quite sound.

    NOTES/ ADDITIONS
    [1] And even if ultimately, a boy grows-up to find himself predominately or even exclusively attracted to other males;
    and even if he is unable or unwilling to cultivate sufficient attraction toward members of the opposite sex to allow him to maintain a viable, sustainable intimate relationship with one;
it still would not follow that he must embrace a lifestyle of rank degeneracy, or even engage in any unwholesome, inordinately disease-promoting act such as buggery at all. If homoerotic carnal intimacy is to be engaged-in at all, let it at least not be of a variety that reduces one of the partners (almost invariably, the more delicate and vulnerable one) to the indignities, rigors, and inordinate risks of serving as a grotesque, utterly inadequate substitute for a female.

[2] Similarly, concerning Jews; the Zionist State that has usurped the sacred name Israel and purports-to speak for world Jewry; and any number of similarly overlapping yet nonetheless distinct entities. The tendentious narratives that are pedaled, and the caricature-like images created by the likes of the ADL, AIPAC, et al. are largely an inversion of so much of the utterly odious bilge that, sorry to say, is rife at this very site. (Our avuncular host, Mr. Sailer, excepted). It is in the middle, between such extremes, that the reality, and reasonable, responsible ground, and common cause, are found.

[3] And ultimately, if nothing else, a biological male, no matter how sub-masculine or effeminate he may be, is still a biological male. That is the objective, immutable reality. Denying it, and certainly mutilating or hormonally altering oneself, is no solution; can bring no enduring relief or fulfillment. While I hope this is not directly relevant to your son, present times being what they are, my reasons for mentioning it should require no explanation.

Younger generations were the first to realize that free speech means nothing, and that the Boomer ideal of an internet where people exchanged meaningful ideas waa nothing but a pipe dream.

Hardly for the first part. Free speech appears to be a rare concept in human history. If anything, the brief interludes where it appears as an ideal (even less often realized) are the exception.

The ideal of an internet where people exchanged meaningful ideas still lives. It is just overwhelmed by the vast majority of people (like you?) who choose to use it otherwise (how about those Kardashians?).

The ideal of an internet where people freely exchange meaningful ideas is clearly under threat though. Meaningful ideas continue to be exchanged, but some are increasingly verboten.

    – Nobody cares about what anyone else has to say, online or off

The number of people reacting strongly to what others say makes clear that is ridiculous. To the point of legal action sometimes being taken based on words online.

    – We only come to blogs like this one to blow off steam, tell jokes, laugh, etc

Clearly true of some people (you, again?), but not all. Just take a look at some of the thoughtful comments (since it is probably too challenging to write your own).

    – Online congregations are echo chambers where people come to blow off steam, which means there is never any critical re-examination of one’s own ideas, because the few people who try do that are perceived as a buzzkill, and dismissesed as “trolls”.

Again, clearly true of some people (you, again?), but not all. Again, just take a look at some of the thoughtful discussions which happen here. For example, Ron and I discussing his NMS meritocracy work: https://www.unz.com/isteve/18-of-harvards-admissions-offers-are-to-blacks/#comment-4633152

    – Anyone can use the ignore function, which ironically is self-censoring, since it allows the higher-T opposition who weren’t afraid of other people’s words to get a louder voice

As I said before, I tend to agree with this one.

    – None of these blogs will ever have a similar impact as mainstream media outlets with a larger audience

This is probably your most interesting point. The qualifier “with a larger audience” makes your statement closer to true, but I think that is obliterated by your use of “None…ever.”

The bigger issue is why give up when these blogs are still evolving? My primary counterpoint is if it is so certain that these blogs can’t have an impact why do we need blackpill trolls like you trying to discourage us?

So you see, free speech is a losing cause. Do you guys choose to fight any battles that aren’t uphill? It seems like you’re magnetically attracted to unwinnable battles and futile causes over things with zero practical application.

This isn’t so much a matter of true or false as a distillation of the thought process promoted by a blackpill troll. For a counterexample, see Ron Unz’s work on Prop 227 concerning bilingual education. A significant enough victory that the NYT covered it.

Black males are discivilizational until about 65, not 45 as per the usual suspects.

Strange to see you, of all people, writing this. It’s as if blacks, on average, male or female, tend to become civilized by old age. This has not been my experience in my country. (Note I’m not American, or even white, specially by American standards.) Their much higher propensity, in comparison to American whites, to commit violent crimes starts decreasing right after their late teens, which is very different from saying they are not “discivilizational” in old age. They’re far less violent when old, but I’ve seen nothing that suggests they by and large lose the ability, much less the desire, to disassemble your society at any age. Why would they? Resentment grows with time and often lasts until death.

I also went to elementary school in the 60s. Almost all of my teachers were women, though some say nuns are their own species. Like Marine drill instructors, the nuns treated us all equally, though they tended not to smack the girls like they did the boys. All meds had to come from the school nurse.

Sister Imelda, the principal, was as tough as nails, but she was as fair as they come. She also cared. One day toward the end of my 8th grade year, the applicants to the local private school had gotten their acceptances in the mail the previous day. I was one of the top students in the class, but mine hadn’t come. Sister Imelda actually called my mom to see if the acceptance had arrived, which it had. How dare they not accept one of her scholars!

None of which interfered with her pulling me out of my seat by my ear when I was class clowning a few days later.

Hardly for the first part. Free speech appears to be a rare concept in human history. If anything, the brief interludes where it appears as an ideal (even less often realized) are the exception.

This has nothing to do with what I said. Indeed, free speech appears rarely in history, and is even less often idealized or realized. Hence, few people ever realized its worthlessness, as they never even experienced it. What I said (that young people today are fhe first to realize its worthlessness) is 100% accurate.

The rarity of free speech and the difficulty of convincing people of its value ought to be one component of a strong argument against it, btw.

The ideal of an internet where people exchanged meaningful ideas still lives. It is just overwhelmed by the vast majority of people (like you?) who choose to use it otherwise (how about those Kardashians?).

Thanks for agreeing with my point that the internet is useless, as the few thoughtful discussions that take place here never manage to reach near as many minds as the thoughtless stuff like instagram and porn. You are a small step away from realizing how futile the internet is.

The ideal of an internet where people freely exchange meaningful ideas is clearly under threat though. Meaningful ideas continue to be exchanged, but some are increasingly verboten.

Why does it matter if they are verboten, when you already being drowned out by the mainstream content? Also — if something is verboten on the internet, it should likewise be verboten on the T.V., at the town hall meeting, and in the House/Senate. So what’s the point of even discussing online, if you can’t grab the attention of a consequential number of people, and you wouldn’t say this shit offline anyway?

It’s time to face the facts, buddy. You’re the fucking troll. Your free speech is about anonymous online trolling.

The number of people reacting strongly to what others say makes clear that is ridiculous. To the point of legal action sometimes being taken based on words online.

That’s clearly not what I was referring to. Yes, people respond to death threats and the like. What I mean is that most people don’t seriously considers the facets of the types of discussions you call “thoughtful” and “meaningful”. Perhaps the 2-4 participants do, but the mass of commmenters do not. They may nod and act like they understand, and they may say stuff like “wow, deep shit man”, but at the end of their 1 minute attention span, their train of thought goes back to pornography and Hickok45 videos.

Clearly true of some people (you, again?), but not all. Just take a look at some of the thoughtful comments (since it is probably too challenging to write your own).

    No I won’t — because like 98% of people here, I don’t give a shit.

The bigger issue is why give up when these blogs are still evolving? My primary counterpoint is if it is so certain that these blogs can’t have an impact why do we need blackpill trolls like you trying to discourage us?

They are evolving because increasing numbers of people are frustrsted and feel the need to blow off steam. But here’s the thing:

1.) I’m offering to save you from babbling to yourselves

2.) You could compensate for your low impact by picking 1 or 2 of the most important, consequential issues (like the low fertility rate) and blasting them 24/7. Instead, most discussions here revolve around fringe stuff like trannies and the low numbers of whites killed by blacks, yearly.

3.) It’s impossible for me to blackpill you. Every day is an infinite blackpill throatfuck if you’re a white nationalist/conservative. If you feel otherwise, you’re on a blue IV drip.

This isn’t so much a matter of true or false as a distillation of the thought process promoted by a blackpill troll. For a counterexample, see Ron Unz’s work on Prop 227 concerning bilingual education. A significant enough victory that the NYT covered it.

That’s not an apt comparison. Ron Unz was a millionaire businessman and well-known politician. We’re talking about anonymous online free speech here. You can’t show me an example of anyone accomplishing political change on the agendas people advocate around here, even back in the 1990s with guys like David Duke. Online free speech hasn’t accomplished shit.

As one counterexample, people not caring about crime statistics is why Obama chose to do away with the interracial rape statistics. Some discussion of that here:

Bob Ewell is a semi-realistic portrayal of the Underclass. No movie is 100% realistic, but Ewell represents the very bottom strata of rural Southern society.

However, the Cunninghams are representative of a much larger class of Whites who were poor, but still respectable. Nobility, despite Poverty. Salt of the earth.

@270 adreadline: Valid point. I ought to have been more precise. My intent was/is to expose the conservatard tendency to claim that only black teens, or black males under 35, are inherently violent and dangerous. There are countless accounts of black men age 35-65 committing violent, heinous crimes against Whites. With the increased use of DNA testing, hardly a week seems to pass without a story of some black male age 60+ being arrested for a rape or murder committed when he was a tender young thing of 45. It all returns to my long-held belief that the small percentage of blacks without a criminal record just haven’t been caught, yet. Your excellent point holds, though: While they may be less violent when older, they never seem to lose the desire to harm Whites or destroy White society.

    • Replies: @JohnnyWalker123

Incest isn’t exclusive to Underclass White Americans.

Incest has historically been common among the Underclass of ALL races in ALL societies. A lot of is fueled by alcoholism, social isolation, crowded living conditions, boredom, lack of acculturation to middle-class values, etc. The large majority of the Underclass don’t do it, but more than a few do.

Anytime you find the Underclass, you’ll find incest. Father-daughter, brother-sister, cousin-cousin, and most especially step father-step daughter. Fortunately, it has become a lot less common in recent times.

For what it’s worth, incest is probably less common among Underclass Whites than Underclass Non-Whites (and the Underclass of foreign nations). In America, Natives (due to their social isolation and heavy drinking) might engage in it the most. Even in areas with lots of impoverished Whites, the worst offenders are usually Native. If you go overseas, cousin-cousin marriage is the norm throughout much of the Middle East and even Muslim parts of South Asia.

So my point wasn’t that Underclass Whites have a particular predisposition to this type of behavior (relative to other races), but that it’s not rare in the Underclass. In her job position in the criminal justice system, Alden’s experiences were mainly confined to the Underclass. So a lot of what she’s saying is true for the Underclass of all races, but I wouldn’t extrapolate to general society.

Blacks might be the exception to the above.

    hollywood movies made by Jevvs

“To Kill a Mockingbird” wasn’t made by Jews. It’s a book written by Harper Lee, who was a daughter of the South from Alabama. The book is based upon Lee’s childhood in the Depression-era South. The book was made into a movie by Robert Mulligan, who was Irish Catholic.

Most of the book/movie is pretty sympathetic to White Southerners. Even the White Southerners who wanted to lynch Blacks were shown in a surprisingly favorable light. Most of the book reads like a grittier and more realistic version of the whole Andy Griffith show.

The only far-fetched part of the plot was when the Black guy was portrayed as being innocent of rape. Other than that, it’s pretty realistic. Interestingly, the incident with the Black guy was based on a real-life occurrence from Lee’s hometown.

The book went out of its way to portray poor White Southerners as overwhelmingly being hardworking, respectable, self-reliant, honest. Salt of the earth. With flaws, sure, but still worthy of respect.

The incest and pathology of the Ewell family was attributed to them being from the very lowest strata of society, outside the mainstream. The outcaste Ewells were contrasted against the respectable Cunninghams, who were the story’s stand-in for the poor White Southern masses.

You obviously didn’t read the book.

Even if they were ultimately vindicated in that decision (and there is more than one reason to suggest that they were), though, my behavior at the time went beyond that which could reasonably be considered acceptable.
