From the Associated Press:

Baltimore breaks city record for killings per capita in 2019

December 27, 2019, 4:53 PM

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore broke its annual per capita homicide record after reaching 342 killings Friday.

With just over 600,000 residents, the city hit a historically high homicide rate of about 57 per 100,000 people after recent relentless gunfire saw eight people shot — three fatally — in one day and nine others — one fatally — another day.

The new rate eclipses that of 1993, when the city had a record 353 killings but was much more populous before years of population exodus.

By contrast, New York City, with more than 8 million residents, had 306 homicides through Dec. 15.

The total is up from 309 in 2018 and matches the 342 killings tallied in 2017 and 2015, the year when the city’s homicide rate suddenly spiked.

Why did it suddenly spike?

Baltimore had 211 homicides in 2014, but since Black Lives Matter’s huge political triumph with the Freddie Gray Riots in April 2015, Baltimore has had about 500 incremental murders above the baseline in the early 2010s. Heckuva job, Obama, Soros, and the prestige press!

MistyBeach.com tracks Baltimore homicides:

That Baltimore’s murder surge started with Black Lives Matter in April 2015 is one of the clearest effects in all the social sciences.

Another interesting homicide data question is what has happened to homicide trends in cities that have elected Soros-selected district attorneys. By the middle of January, it’s pretty easy to find local newspaper reports on the previous year’s homicide totals, plus change since last year.

Yeah, and that exodus was due to white people fleeing violent crime by blacks, including murder.

Speaking of being ruined by cash, this is pretty funny:

David Brock caught paying actors to claim to be disgusted former Trump supporters
If you’ve spent any time on political social media, you’ve probably seen David Brock’s attempts at trolling and straw-man-sock-puppetting supposed Trump supporters, who now say that they have changed their minds, because of whatever Trump’s latest verbal gaffe was according to noted Trump supporter newspaper the Washington Post. If that sounds illogical, if that sounds totally doomed to never work once, consider that David Brock and his ilk are like Ed Boland of the Battle for Room 314: never held a job, no idea how the world works, unaware of the radicalization Obama generated by coming after white people, the Constitution, and public safety, and swimming in an unlimited supply of billionaire donor cash. From early in the campaign /pol/ users will recall seeing the laughably poorly thought out script
I was a Trump supporter like you guys, but he has just gone too far now that he X.
One version (perhaps the most frequently mocked) concludes
It’s been fun but seriously we can’t let this guy get his hands on the nuclear codes.
Those tone-deaf self-announcing templates were used every day, every day, sometimes every hour, since the beginning of Trump’s candidacy. As ineffective as they are inherently, they are the worse for the thorough inoculation.
Now Brock has attempted to use the exact same thoroughly failed and familiar script on TV audiences.

But the thing to really look out for with this Krasner character (I live across the Delaware River from Philly, so I get to see this wrecker at work right up close), is that he is trying to reduce incarceration times for those adjudicated guilty who are already in prison, as well as to absurdly reduce criminal charges before going woth new prosecutions, as well.

I predict a steady upward trend in the violent crime statistics as more convicted perpetrators are either paroled at way shorter than the normal periods of incarcerations for their crimes, or through his purposefully lacadaisical prosecutions (if as such they can even be characterized), perpetrators are either not convicted, or sentenced to ridiculously short terms. With the aggregate number of these predators on the street actually on an upswing, and with the sign having been clearly sent that they are increasingly a protected class - because reasons - the baseline will inevitably rise.

I refuse to watch live television. No news, no sports, no nothing. Lately I haven't even been watching Star Trek reruns on H&I.

Last night - Thursday night - I watched Rogue One. A friend of mine is obsessed with Star Wars - he has a complete Vader suit and is working on a full-sized Palpatine mannequin - and has been bugging me to see it.

All of the Disney Soy Wars flicks have left me underwhelmed. Rogue One is better than TFA and TLJ, but that's not saying much. The battle scenes drag on forever.

Call me crazy, but I like Solo. It's a decent popcorn movie. The two main (anti-)heroes are white American males. (I have a soft spot for white American males, being one myself.)

Tonight - it's Saturday morning now, so I'm talking about Friday night - I watched three Joan Crawford movies - Harriet Craig, A Woman's Face, and Possessed. (No, I don't speak with a lisp.) I also watched a few minutes of Torch Song, but not the infamous blackface dance sequence.

Of the four, I like Harriet Craig the most. Crawford nails the role of a neurotic, controlling, castrating bitch who destroys her marriage by pushing her milquetoast husband just a little too far. She ends up miserable and alone - a truly happy ending. I grew up watching soap operas with my (neurotic, controlling, castrating) mother and grandmother, so these movies always feel very familiar.

A few nights ago I watched a couple of obscure '80s anime flicks. First, Locke the Superman, complete with a so-bad-it's-hilarious Hong Kong Engrish dub:
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TsKP4v7FcGg

Then Blue Flames. It's a peculiar little late-'80s exploitation drama (with gratuitous booby shots) about a sociopathic high-school/college student who destroys other people's lives just for the hell of it. (Not unlike Harriet Craig.) He has no socially-redeeming qualities, just a cold-blooded determination to get what he wants.

A popular jock is smitten with a shy rich girl; she prefers the sociopath. (Evidently she's more into sigmas than alphas.) The sociopath already has an older (twentysomething) girlfriend who showers him with money. Nevertheless, he reels in the shy rich girl and promptly deflowers her. She is totally in love; she will forsake her family for him. When her furious father comes calling, the sociopath agrees to break up with her - in exchange for a hefty bribe. The father reluctantly hands over the money and the sociopath kicks the girl to the curb. After the break-up, the girl attempts suicide. The next day, the outraged jock confronts the sociopath. The sociopath goads the jock into beating him up. Then the sociopath reports the jock to the principal, who promptly rescinds the jock's college scholarship. (Due to his Japanese sense of honor, the jock refuses to divulge his reasons for attacking the sociopath.) Then, when the jock comes looking for a fight, the sociopath knocks him out cold with one punch. He walks away laughing. It's all just one sick, convoluted game.

That's not the whole plot, but you get the idea. Basically this guy goes around seducing women, squeezing sex and money out of them, and callously discarding them. There's no real resolution to the story - the movie just ends in the middle of a sex scene. It's "The Amorphous Adventures of an Amorous Amoral Asshole," more or less. Not a bad little character study for the Heartiste crowd.

So, no, I haven't been keeping up with the bowls. My alma mater's once-nationally-dominant team didn't score a single point in this year's dipshit consolation bowl, so I have no real interest. Someone wins, someone loses, life goes on. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, yadda yadda yadda, rinse and repeat.

  16. As someone who works in downtown Baltimore but lives in the suburbs, I can confirm that it is damn depressing to look at the Baltimore Sun each day because it will inevitably lead off with murder(s). Unfortunately, I don’t see anything changing for years to come. Blacks make up roughly 70% of Baltimore and they have a surprisingly high tolerance for high criminality and murder rates, just as long as it doesn’t affect them personally. Heaven forbid any police commissioner or politician mentions a “law and order” or “broken windows” approach to crime fighting! In fact, the idiot State’s Attorney for Baltimore (a black female, which given the demographics of the city means she could well hold this position until she: 1) is charged with a crime; 2) decides to resign; or 3) dies) is looking to decriminalize certain misdemeanors. As Joseph De Maistre said “in a democracy, the people end up with the government and leaders they deserve.” The fine folks of Baltimore are getting exactly what they deserve.

Observed the same thing when I lived in a pre-gentrified DC neighborhood. Blacks seem willing to tolerate a lot higher level of social disorder, and don't care if the local politicians are corrupt as hell so long as it's one of their own that's getting over. I had a few neighbors that would confide that they liked having whites move into the neighborhood because a) we'd actually call the cops and b) the cops would actually show up, but the more dominant attitude was that you just didn't call the cops or get involved in other people's business, even when it was some thug beating the daylights out of his girlfriend right on the street.

  24. I know a PhD who moved to Baltimore to work at [large prestigious university], which was his absolute dream job. He also bought a house in the city within weeks of moving. I watched him on social media as the initial optimism faded and he’d start making posts alluding to “weird people in the neighbourhood”, “having to learn where to walk at night”, “I think I got broken into yesterday”, etc., never mentioning race, of course. After less than a year and a half of pretending everything was ok he promptly ditched the dream job and moved to Seattle. He was so desperate to get out he didn’t even wait to sell the house and sold it later via a realtor. I spoke with him recently and he seemed way happier than I’ve seen him in years.

  29. There are a number of states in the America, where the “sane majority counties” need to split off into separate states. The cities that are lost should remain enclaves, which
    a) can’t force their political insanity onto the sane counties, and
    b) are balanced out on the federal level by the new “silent majority” states.

There’s still time to force a barrier between places like South California, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc., and the rest of the counties within those states. There’s still time to contain the plague.

Anyone who wants to be a self-hating tranny constantly mugged’n’buggered by diverse urban poets can go and live in the “vibrancy containment areas” such as Baltimore. Anyone who DOESN’T want this, gets to live in sane county-based states.

    Put it this way:

The UK, a nation of around 65 million inhabitants has a murder rate which generally hovers around 700 per annum – actually, a vastly disproportionate number of those murders are perpetrated by blacks and browns.

Baltimore, a city of 600,000 manages to murder 342 of its people.

You'd think, right? No, it seems like they all want to learn it the hard way. About the only benefit we're getting is less arrogant talk from Euro's about those American racists.

From Peak Stupidity's "At least he made the trains run on time!":

What would bug me is the arrogant attitude that many had about things that they could not understand. American white people had put up with a lot and tried a lot of things to help, and to get along with, black people over the last 50, but arguably 165, years. Not much has worked. Yet, you'd hear from English, French, or German visitors (or talk to them on that trip overseas) that "your country is great, but what's the deal with all that racism stuff?" "Why do you have all those deplorable racists treating black people so mean?" It came often in with the English condescension (because, just with that accent, they SOUND smarter!), the French snootyness (nose in the air - "you ave to treat zeeez people nicer, like we would in Fronce") or the German air of authority ("We haff no Nazis now. You are zee racists.)

I kind of wonder what some of these, now middle-aged, volks haff to ... [Stop that! - Ed] say about the situation, now that they have a large unassimilable crowd of un-like people in their midst. Would they think back to their words of yesteryear and understand they were wrong? Maybe they would tell me that their situation is different, that these Moslems and blacks in Europe are just not assimilated yet, but in America we are still just racists, sticking to the narrative. I don't know, but it's another case of schadenfreude for me, as some of them must be wondering if their situation matches large portions of American cities, and I'd like to head over there just for a quick "I told you so".

Baltimore, a city of 600,000 manages to murder 342 of its people.

The curse of the United States is the legacy of slavery. Baltimore may be the worst, but nearly all historically old large cities have "ghetto" areas where the population is low income and majority black where fatherless boys who fail in school grow up in criminal gangs and where there are many "senseless" murders.

These murders may appear senseless, but actually these young delinquents live in a dueling society where "respect" is everything, and the code of honor is that if someone insults you, you must kill them.

At one time this attitude was common at the higher levels of society, but it died out long ago.

The populations of such areas are cowed basically try to keep their heads down. You will perhaps notice that many black homes have the the curtains drawn during the daytime and have wrought-iron grills over windows and door similar to Latin America. The businesses have these grills too, and stores that stay open 24 hours in other places close early in these neighborhoods.

The psychology of it is that although these areas have high rates of murder, on an individual basis, yo will hardly ever actually witness a shooting or a murder. I worked for a couple of years visiting all the worst areas of Jacksonville, FL in the daytime, and never even saw a gun, a violent incident, or anything close even though Jacksonville is statistically a very murderous city and Jacksonville residents are very numerous in North Florida prisons.

After dark, it is a different matter.

People will say that they know everyone in their street, and that their street is safe, but there was a shooting in the next street over last month. but the guy was arrested, so it is safe now.

Mostly it is criminals killing other criminals, but every now and again the killing spills over, or a cop gets killed, and people get outraged. Every so often African-American churches have "stop the killing" rallies, but the true reason for the high murder rate is that Jacksonville is home to a lot of criminals. It is common for inmates in prison to have old bullet wounds. Most of them say they were shot by the cops, but it may not always be true.

I doubt whether anything Obama ever said or did makes any difference. Perhaps Trump can tweet something to stop the killing.

I refuse to watch live television. No news, no sports, no nothing. Lately I haven’t even been watching Star Trek reruns on H&I.

Last night – Thursday night – I watched Rogue One. A friend of mine is obsessed with Star Wars – he has a complete Vader suit and is working on a full-sized Palpatine mannequin – and has been bugging me to see it.

All of the Disney Soy Wars flicks have left me underwhelmed. Rogue One is better than TFA and TLJ, but that’s not saying much. The battle scenes drag on forever.

Call me crazy, but I like Solo. It’s a decent popcorn movie. The two main (anti-)heroes are white American males. (I have a soft spot for white American males, being one myself.)

Tonight – it’s Saturday morning now, so I’m talking about Friday night – I watched three Joan Crawford movies – Harriet Craig, A Woman’s Face, and Possessed. (No, I don’t speak with a lisp.) I also watched a few minutes of Torch Song, but not the infamous blackface dance sequence.

Of the four, I like Harriet Craig the most. Crawford nails the role of a neurotic, controlling, castrating bitch who destroys her marriage by pushing her milquetoast husband just a little too far. She ends up miserable and alone – a truly happy ending. I grew up watching soap operas with my (neurotic, controlling, castrating) mother and grandmother, so these movies always feel very familiar.

A few nights ago I watched a couple of obscure ’80s anime flicks. First, Locke the Superman, complete with a so-bad-it’s-hilarious Hong Kong Engrish dub:

Then Blue Flames. It’s a peculiar little late-’80s exploitation drama (with gratuitous booby shots) about a sociopathic high-school/college student who destroys other people’s lives just for the hell of it. (Not unlike Harriet Craig.) He has no socially-redeeming qualities, just a cold-blooded determination to get what he wants.

A popular jock is smitten with a shy rich girl; she prefers the sociopath. (Evidently she’s more into sigmas than alphas.) The sociopath already has an older (twentysomething) girlfriend who showers him with money. Nevertheless, he reels in the shy rich girl and promptly deflowers her. She is totally in love; she will forsake her family for him. When her furious father comes calling, the sociopath agrees to break up with her – in exchange for a hefty bribe. The father reluctantly hands over the money and the sociopath kicks the girl to the curb. After the break-up, the girl attempts suicide. The next day, the outraged jock confronts the sociopath. The sociopath goads the jock into beating him up. Then the sociopath reports the jock to the principal, who promptly rescinds the jock’s college scholarship. (Due to his Japanese sense of honor, the jock refuses to divulge his reasons for attacking the sociopath.) Then, when the jock comes looking for a fight, the sociopath knocks him out cold with one punch. He walks away laughing. It’s all just one sick, convoluted game.

That’s not the whole plot, but you get the idea. Basically this guy goes around seducing women, squeezing sex and money out of them, and callously discarding them. There’s no real resolution to the story – the movie just ends in the middle of a sex scene. It’s “The Amorphous Adventures of an Amorous Amoral Asshole,” more or less. Not a bad little character study for the Heartiste crowd.

So, no, I haven’t been keeping up with the bowls. My alma mater’s once-nationally-dominant team didn’t score a single point in this year’s dipshit consolation bowl, so I have no real interest.

You’d think, right? No, it seems like they all want to learn it the hard way. About the only benefit we’re getting is less arrogant talk from Euro’s about those American racists.

From Peak Stupidity‘s “At least he made the trains run on time!”:

What would bug me is the arrogant attitude that many had about things that they could not understand. American white people had put up with a lot and tried a lot of things to help, and to get along with, black people over the last 50, but arguably 165, years. Not much has worked. Yet, you’d hear from English, French, or German visitors (or talk to them on that trip overseas) that “your country is great, but what’s the deal with all that racism stuff?” “Why do you have all those deplorable racists treating black people so mean?” It came often in with the English condescension (because, just with that accent, they SOUND smarter!), the French snootyness (nose in the air – “you ave to treat zeeez people nicer, like we would in Fronce”) or the German air of authority (“We haff no Nazis now. You are zee racists.)

I kind of wonder what some of these, now middle-aged, volks haff to … [Stop that! – Ed] say about the situation, now that they have a large unassimilable crowd of un-like people in their midst. Would they think back to their words of yesteryear and understand they were wrong? Maybe they would tell me that their situation is different, that these Moslems and blacks in Europe are just not assimilated yet, but in America we are still just racists, sticking to the narrative. I don’t know, but it’s another case of schadenfreude for me, as some of them must be wondering if their situation matches large portions of American cities, and I’d like to head over there just for a quick “I told you so”.

  51. Sorry Steve, you are totally wrong. The rise in murder has nothing to do with BLM. Here are the annual murder numbers.

    2014: 211
    2015: 342
    2016: 318
    2017: 342
    2018: 309
    2019: 342

The pattern is clear. Odd numbered years see a spike in crime. Clearly, that means the cause is a native hatred of odd numbers. As a resident, I can confirm that the locals are incensed by prime numbers.

Hey, is this theory any more ridiculous than magic dirt?

Observed the same thing when I lived in a pre-gentrified DC neighborhood. Blacks seem willing to tolerate a lot higher level of social disorder, and don’t care if the local politicians are corrupt as hell so long as it’s one of their own that’s getting over. I had a few neighbors that would confide that they liked having whites move into the neighborhood because a) we’d actually call the cops and b) the cops would actually show up, but the more dominant attitude was that you just didn’t call the cops or get involved in other people’s business, even when it was some thug beating the daylights out of his girlfriend right on the street.

Yeah, I remember the early 90s, pre-gentrified DC as well. What a hell hole it was! At least with the federal government being headquartered in DC, you just knew the city would not slide into the abyss but so much. With Baltimore though, there’s no telling how bad the damage will be. I have noticed an increasing number of Latinos in Baltimore and they just might be the answer:
Slowly but surely replacing the high crime blacks with Latinos in Baltimore.

Just as a Lamborghini is a poor car when judged by the standards of a Toyota-starts up all the time, needs only routine maintenance, parts readily available, does not break down very often-and a Toyota is a poor car when judged by the standard of a Lamborghini-makes a cool sound, is really fast, feels like a race car, makes owners feel like they have an extraordinarily large penis-blacks are deficient by white standards and vice versa.

Blacks do not care about living in a safe or orderly society and detest many white behaviors. Since most are not very smart they are vulnerable to grievance peddlers and easily induced to blame white for all their own problems. Either they live in their own separate society, or if they must live among whites and whites expect to live in a society they find habitable the whites must inflict white mores and attitudes on blacks, a necessarily sometimes ugly situation.

The curse of the United States is the legacy of slavery. Baltimore may be the worst, but nearly all historically old large cities have “ghetto” areas where the population is low income and majority black where fatherless boys who fail in school grow up in criminal gangs and where there are many “senseless” murders.

These murders may appear senseless, but actually these young delinquents live in a dueling society where “respect” is everything, and the code of honor is that if someone insults you, you must kill them.

Every so often African-American churches have “stop the killing” rallies, but the true reason for the high murder rate is that Jacksonville is home to a lot of criminals. It is common for inmates in prison to have old bullet wounds. Most of them say they were shot by the cops, but it may not always be true.

His homosexuality was a matter of public record by 1995, alluded to in agreeable newspaper profiles of starboard opinion journalists. It is true he was involuntarily outed by some liberal journalist, but he himself was quite public about it in mundane settings; he'd just never written about it for publication. Subsequent to that, he wrote a book about Hellary. After his work for The American Spectator, no one who knew anything would talk to him, so the book was mostly an assemblage of public information and it bombed. He had a falling out with his former patrons after that. Then re-branded himself as a Clinton machine attack-dog. There are only so many times you can pull that maneuver and continue to make a living at it.

Many years ago, Byron York wrote an article delineating what was troublesome about that span of years at The American Spectator in which the magazine's dealings with Brock and various other rogues were central to the story. York was employed at The American Spectator at the time. York saw the whole sequence of events as folly, driven by Emmett Tyrell's ambition to make the magazine a large circulation publication which could subsist on ad revenue and turn a profit.

You could detect two vectors in their 'reasoning': (1) anything was plausible so long as it supported an argument that the deplorable was at fault and (2) that feral young men like Martin have some fuzzily defined franchise to beat up people who annoy them.

This nonsense should never be a guide to public policy, but we live in a world where people get sanctioned for refusing to call men in drag 'she'.

With the aggregate number of these predators on the street actually on an upswing, and with the sign having been clearly sent that they are increasingly a protected class – because reasons – the baseline will inevitably rise.

No I am not proposing that at all. Statistics for murders will go up and down from year to year due to various different factors, that could be as different as the number of local criminals in or out of prison, or the opening or closing of a new Emergency Room close to the killing fields, the weather, the economy, the availability of other leisure and sports activities, the number of youth in school versus unemployed, the increased or decreased availability of certain drugs, and numerous other factors.

However the large older cities that have African-American ghettoes continue to have a lot of murders from year to year, much more than in suburban areas where feral youth are less concentrated, have less access to public transportation, etc.

As Joseph De Maistre said "in a democracy, the people end up with the government and leaders they deserve.” The fine folks of Baltimore are getting exactly what they deserve.

Black lives only 'matter' if the killer is white.
If the killer is black - which is the case at least 95% of the time - then to the generality of blacks, the death is of absolutely no consequence.

But woe betide the white killer - and whites in general - of a black.

Basic basic genetically 'kinship' in group/out group dual 'morality', which, in fact, is an entirely rational and 'natural', and therefore 'good' response.

Compare and contrast on the other hand to the dog-shit Economist grand cause of massive uncontrolled third world immigration to the west if you want to witness a real f*cked up mentality.

A great deal of this appears to be generated by status games. White liberals fancy police officers are deplorables who should not exercise authority over the clientele of white liberals. Feral black youth (and their enabler female relatives) fancy blacks are an aristocratic class and a deplorable police officer giving them instructions (e.g. telling Michael Brown and Dorian whatshisname that they don’t own the road and to quit blocking traffic and use the sidewalk is getting above his station (as was George Zimmerman for defending himself with lethal force and not taking the beating he was due from his betters). I got stuck in a 400-comment loop with a claque of white liberals who knew no salient details about the Zimmerman case and just filled in blanks from their witless imaginations. You could detect two vectors in their ‘reasoning’: (1) anything was plausible so long as it supported an argument that the deplorable was at fault and (2) that feral young men like Martin have some fuzzily defined franchise to beat up people who annoy them.

This nonsense should never be a guide to public policy, but we live in a world where people get sanctioned for refusing to call men in drag ‘she’.

‘The curse of the United States is the legacy of slavery…’

Why wouldn’t it be, say, the legacy of serfdom?

Or, for that matter, the legacy of foot binding, or of devshirme?

Maybe because Poles, or Chinese, or Greeks are not the problem?

Conversely, why is it that no black state or black population manages to behave in a remotely acceptable fashion — even in areas with no history of black slavery at all?

Look up crime statistics for Toronto, or London, or Kinshasa.

The curse of the United States is that we let in blacks. They could have been brought in to sing in church choirs. The results would have been the same.

It’s all about negritude. Nothing to do with slavery at all.

They could not have been brought in to sing in church choirs, because the Supreme Court eventually ruled that people of African origin could never be citizens of the USA and prior to the ruling there were no voluntary African immigrants. They could only be brought in as slaves.

Had slavery not existed in modern times, the whole history of the New World and of Europe would have been quite different both historically and today, and perhaps the US would have been more like Australia, Canada, or New Zealand where slavery was never as extensive as in the US.

Just arresting a thug for loitering on someone’s doorstep without charging for a crime did a lot to disrupt criminal activity.

Moskos is against the drug war but it does seem like drug arrests are an important part of controlling overall criminal activity in the hood, including violent crime. As a libertarian this bothers me, though I suppose it means the ill effects of drug prohibition can only really be solved by decriminalization at the federal level.

I read Gatto’s book in High School (on my own time and initiative.) The chapters on Horace Mann and the various corporate foundations influencing education (Ford, Rockefeller) in the early 20th Century was interesting. He trashed Mann (perhaps rightfully so) for establishing a Prussian education system in the land of freedom and liberty.

I’m more sympathetic to the corporate foundations. The training of students for employment isn’t inherently bad. It’s a lot better to the “Eat, Pray, Love” philosophy of we’ll teach you stuff that doesn’t really matter to help teachers burn clock time.

The training of students for employment also helps keep out political and religious propaganda. It’s not perfect of course, but it beats the public system. By definition, “public” means EVERYONE; so public education must accommodate EVERYONE, which is impossible.

Unfortunately, public schools are in a severe bind. Vocational training or even white collar training (accounting, paralegal) are going to inevitably create a disparate impact. Afterwords, Mr. “Civil Rights” will go ahead and sue the school district. What’s worse, he’s likely the least problematic issue. You have multiple industries with tens of millions of Baby Boomers that can’t afford to retire. The last thing they'd want is more competition bubbling from down below. So training in the social sciences (economics and biology are halfway houses) and humanities is constantly glorified. In the workforce, you need to go full Guantanamo Bay on the older employees to become proficient in specialized computer software used in the company. Because they really don’t want to train any potential replacement. Really helps explain the massive boner for diversity.

“I’ll make diversity hires who are only borderline competent! That way, my superiors can’t replace me with them. They know and I know it’ll be a disaster. Also, downsizing my 30% black/tranny department might create a messy legal battle so I’m bulletproof!”

You may mean this ironically… but consider if this is what blacks prefer: higher homicide rates compared to a higher chance of personal disrespect by (sometimes white) police. The former is an abstract that, technically, has happened to nobody still alive. The latter is immediately understandable by anyone. Try to consider it from the perspective of an 80 IQ person who doesn’t process abstract thinking well, is functionally innumerate, couldn’t tell you what the homicide rates are anywhere, and is prone to fantastical thinking and believing urban legends or whatever the media tells or suggests to them (such as that police are a far greater danger to blacks than other blacks).

That is normal, tribal, human thinking, not specifically 80-IQ thinking.

    1) The past always trumps the present.

    2) Personal events always trump objective, impersonal statistics.

This is the same sort of thinking that drives high-IQ American Jews into immortalizing the Holocaust, and believing that KKKlansmen, Nazis, and Tsarist Whites are a greater danger than Muslims.

    Replies: @Thomas

I know a PhD who moved to Baltimore to work at [large prestigious university], which was his absolute dream job. He also bought a house in the city within weeks of moving. I watched him on social media as the initial optimism faded and he'd start making posts alluding to "weird people in the neighbourhood", "having to learn where to walk at night", "I think I got broken into yesterday", etc., never mentioning race, of course. After less than a year and a half of pretending everything was ok he promptly ditched the dream job and moved to Seattle. He was so desperate to get out he didn't even wait to sell the house and sold it later via a realtor. I spoke with him recently and he seemed way happier than I've seen him in years.

Thus partaking in the consumption of an, apparently, finite and shrinking resource. Sigh.

Could the black guys have picked up certain techniques from the white guys, such as how to use various knives?

    Replies: @Anonymous

Of course they could have picked that up. What I meant in my last post was both blacks and rednecks already shared a lot of behaviors like low future orientation, high aggression, sexual promiscuity, bad work ethic etc. Before they had ever seen a member of the opposite group.

It's not perfect of course, but it beats the public system. By definition, "public" means EVERYONE; so public education must accommodate EVERYONE, which is impossible.

The last thing they’d want is more competition bubbling from down below.

In the long run, Father Time will not be mocked. The boomers will die or become senile and infirm to where they can not do the job and offshoring can only go so far. The businesses will have to train new manufacturing employees and the few young people who are desiring and are capable of being trained will do well. But a generation will have gone by without these opportunities and the new people will hopefully fuck the companies as hard as possible for their services, as they will deserve it.

I grew up in LA during the era leading up to Training Day and had been busted three times before I turned 18. I have no quaint notions about police or to what extent they’re often a “gang in blue.” That’s not mutually exclusive though with the reality that they generally keep the other, even nastier thugs under control most of the time.

the reality that they generally keep the other, even nastier thugs under control most of the time.

The reality is that when they aren’t committing the crimes, they’re preventing locals from taking care of the problem themselves.

“As a libertarian this bothers me, though I suppose it means the ill effects of drug prohibition can only really be solved by decriminalization at the federal level.”

I wonder what you mean by this. The ill affects of the opioid crisis has ravaged communities all across the country. But you think greater access to opioids and all other drugs would be a net benefit compared to the prohibition of all drugs???

    Replies: @jtgw

The problems you’re thinking of are mostly caused by prohibition. For instance, if all opioids were legal and easier to obtain, they would be cheaper. Addicts could satisfy their habit without having to commit crime to support the expense. The crime associated with drugs occurs under prohibition, not during the period they were legal.

'The curse of the United States is the legacy of slavery...'

Why wouldn't it be, say, the legacy of serfdom?

Or, for that matter, the legacy of foot binding, or of devshirme?

Maybe because Poles, or Chinese, or Greeks are not the problem?

Conversely, why is it that no black state or black population manages to behave in a remotely acceptable fashion -- even in areas with no history of black slavery at all?

Look up crime statistics for Toronto, or London, or Kinshasa.

The curse of the United States is that we let in blacks. They could have been brought in to sing in church choirs. The results would have been the same.

It's all about negritude.

You will note that in point of fact and by any reasonable measure, the United States is remarkably similar to Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
