Earlier this week, I revealed that the next Democratic candidates’ debate will culminate in a “Final Jeopardy”-like question in which the candidate who can come up with the most terms to pad out the longest possible LGBT+ acronym will be declared the Party’s 2020 nominee. Now, the DNC announced this morning that the debate’s final question will be phrased as:

“Who (or what) are (or is) the backbone of our democracy?”

Senator Elizabeth Warren demonstrated that she has been practicing relentlessly and is rounding into mid-season form:

One highlight of the upcoming debate will be Senator Warren topping her pronunciation of “Latinx” by showing us all how to pronounce “BlackWomxn.”

In other news, Senator Warren’s press secretary denied persistent reports that she remains a crypto-Republican whose career since 1987 has been devoted to trolling Democrats by acting out the absurdities of their Coalition of the Fringes identity politics.

  1. How they are not?
I as a white man acknowledge all that.
We need to reall tondo the justice here.
Yes, this is quotas in reverse of the traditional meaning. Yes, this will require “reverse discrimination” as companies and institutions of all sorts compete to hire black people. Yes, white people may have to take a dose of the bitter medicine of racial discrimination. Yes, this may require companies to compensate for lousy schools by providing employees with “remedial” courses. If companies, large and small, don’t like the latter, they can campaign for better schools by ponying up the dough.

As a white person, I acknowledge that its time for the shoe to be on the other foot for a change. I want America to be the land of equal opportunity, and I want to be able to prove it with the numbers, not merely mouth outworn (and untrue) clichés.

  2. So not American Indians.

What’s funny is that, recalling that chick in the Crossing the Delaware painting, and various religious nonconformists and frontiersmen, there is a serious argument that stepping outside of society is the most authentically American way of life — but these pseudo-intellectuals don’t know how to make that argument, they’re just ramming in this “Thomas Jefferson was a Tranny” insanity. They wouldn’t like real American nonconformity anyway: it’s based on work instead of leeching, having space of your own instead of living in a Blue Metropolis worker hive, and, crucially, leaving society alone instead of trying to force it into your mold. Earlier I saw a political cartoon of a pro-homosexuality Jesus in a “rainbow flag” shirt, slapping a Christian homophobe, and I thought, this is like if we yelled at Jews that Hillel and Moses repeatedly commanded them to eat pork. It’s exactly wrong. Its perfect wrongness is deliberate and accomplishes two things. In the short term you are williamshatnered by how stunningly wrong it is and cannot come right back with anything. The bigger goal of course is genocide: the erasure of a culture or lifeway. They’re not interested in getting it right, they’re not disputing some of the details, they want to overwrite and erase Christianity and American non-conformity.

Also, how many Black Trans and Cis Women, Gender-Nonconforming, and Nonbinary People does it take to change a light bulb?

  6. Surely this endorsement wraps up the election for Warren. BlackWomxnFor, must represent what, 0.0001% of the American electorate?

Biden and the rest of the Democrats would be fools to keep campaigning. In fact, it’s probably best for everyone if Trump resigned and appointed Warren to succeed him next week.

BTW, when did use of the letter X become a SJW marker? First Latinx, now Womxn? How do I pronounce these words?

That video clip of her taking a question from a nine-year-old “trans boy” was truly weird, with Liz wearing a rapturous look on her face as if she were witnessing the Second Coming (out). When the girl made her announcement, Liz called for a round of applause. What percentage of our fellow citizens go for this stuff?

I think that is bit too vague, she was a full-on professional Cato Institute style Reaganomics Libertarian wonk until she supposedly realised, in middle age, after the Savings and Loans scandal, that it wasn’t about making everyone better off. Do you trust the judgement of somebody like that? I don’t.

That single revelation seems to drive her only populist policy idea in the form of certain kinds of banking regulations and taxes on high frequency trading. But it’s a bit disappointing that her political growth seemed to stop there in the late 80s and she hasn’t learned anything else since.

She’s no Dirty Harry, but it’s a start. She seems like a liberal Democrat who still believes in a functional society. She clearly played for the Chinese vote which is a very smart move in San Francisco. I hope it works out for her, but the social trends are pushing hard in the counter direction. Police in San Francisco can’t/won’t enforce “minor” crimes which in turns leads to the general sense of decline in law and order.

We’ll see. New York is quickly dismantling the Giuliani standards and embracing the California approach of decriminalization.

It would be the final apocalypse of the Left! Even Bernie knows that Lizzie’s math is worse than the average grade-school teacher.

A Lizzie Presidency would be like the French Revolutionary Terror: after that, everyone would admit this stuff does not work.

After the Terror, the Thermidorian Reaction:

The Thermidorian reactionaries set to work within hours of Robespierre’s head hitting the wicker basket. They sought to create a conservative republic, free of centralised power, rigid economic controls, contrived religion and state terror.

Within a month, the Thermidorian Convention had repealed the legislation of the Terror and disempowered its main organs, particularly the Committee of Public Safety. The Thermidorians and their supporters also initiated a ‘White Terror’, to purge government and society of its remaining Jacobins.

    Yes, make it so.

I think I agree 100% with what I think you’re saying, but that example is SO wrong. I mean, it’s just simply wrong. Jesus doesn’t say word one about homos.

He says a lotta crazy stuff about sex, like no divorce and committing adultery in your heart, so it’s not like he’s shy. He heals the centurion’s boy toy but passes up the opportunity to say “oh, and btw stop the gay sex mmkay?” like does with the “first stone” woman. In fact he lads him for his faith!

So the picture of Jesus smacking Paul and saying “cut out the homophobia you creepy closet case” is quite believable.

At this stage, Liz Warren would hold a press conference to announce Sistah Souljah’s endorsement, while promising her a position in the cabinet.

It’s an important skill for a pol, to know when to say something that might be risky, even unpopular. Trump has it. Liz Warren will say any phony thing she thinks people want to hear, and as a result she comes across as inauthentic, even to those who might agree with her stated positions.

More of an educational/occupational issue I think than ethnic origin or even social class.

If you work in an occupation in which things can actually physically break down — long-haul trucking, engineering, air conditioner repair, dentistry, etc. — you have to face up to actual physical reality, and so it is hard to be completely Woke. I’ve chatted with black and Hispanic repair guys who have come into our home who turned out to be pretty sane on current issues.

On the other hand, if your entire education and professional training consisted of giving the approved answers, without any check against the real, external physical world, then it is easy to keep up with the whirling swirl of ideological fashion required to be Woke.

We think of SJWs as having a definite ideology, but they really don’t. The key is not ideological principles but the ability to be ideologically flexible at the right time.

Twenty years ago against gay marriage; today for it. Ten years ago, what are trans people, today they are the backbone of democracy. Today Epstein is a monster, a decade from now a pioneer in releasing youth sexuality.

He said South Africa was becoming a “dangerously elitist” country if it was considering “throwing away half of our young people” who did not achieve a 50% matric pass.

In SA, “pass matric” (matriculation) is the equivalent of getting a HS diploma — so you can “pass matric” with a score of (only) 30% in (just) 3 of 6 subjects in the final year exam.

Greetings Fellow White Person! The shoe has been on the other foot for 50+ years.

Oy Bubbee, am I ever a fellow White Person too. A cis male even.

Had you even heard of non-binaries five years ago, let alone fifty? /smirk

  86. Haha says:
    @A normal white guy

Mrs. Warren has left out Muslims, Hindus, illegal immigrants (the only ones holding on to the American dream), social justice warriors (without whom there would be no progress), and the mentally challenged (who prove every day how they can rise and shine in America). And then there is the great American media, without which there can be no democracy.

  87. @PhysicistDave

I do not believe it is that simple. Certain ethnic groups cluster into certain occupations for a variety of reasons sometimes because that is the way it was done in their home country. Then their occupation may determine their level of delusional progressiveness i.e. if one is running a small business they are hardly going to have time to worry about Trans rights.

Which U.S. Immigrants End Up Becoming Small-Business Owners?

The data is from 2010 and it would be better to have data broken down into ethnicity rather than US immigrants/ethnicity.

Put your money where your mouth is. If ever you need a heart bypass or need to hire a design engineer for your company, insist upon getting one of the “Black trans and cis women, gender-nonconforming, and nonbinary people” to do the job.

  89. @Harry Baldwin

From Idiocracy II, the prequel (filmed on location in Ingolstadt):

Next came the Normal for President campaign.

[Shakes baby’s hand vigorously, then kisses man on the tummy] “Name’s Abbie, Abbie Normal. I hope I can count on your vote.”

Candidate Normal was known for his Reaganesque one-liners, such as: “Hump, what hump?”

  90. Yes, black trans, cis women, non-conforming, and non binary are the backbone of the democratic party.

They got together for a recent meeting and they actually filled a small classroom.

  91. In the spirit of the “Islam is right about women!” posters I propose:

“Elizabeth Warren is right about Democrats!”

Note: Democrats frequently refer to the Party as “the Democracy”. But even if she meant the American democracy generally she would also be right, as that is what you get when you have “universal” suffrage.

Jeb’s $75 guacca bowl was one for the ages, but just look at the crap Elizabeth Warren is selling, a shirt that says “impolite arrogant women make history.” Has anyone ever seen a non astroturf person wearing any of these shirts? Not just from Warren but from anyone, they have to be directing large donors to buy them by the case.

If not, why not? What about a Mexican mestizo child who thinks of himself as white? And so on?

The latter two are heavily collectivist from having to survive dire winters and the Anglos are degenerate by way of decadence by way of past success.

    >We think of SJWs as having a definite ideology, but they really don’t. The key is not ideological principles but the ability to be ideologically flexible at the right time.

I’m not sure about that. I think a lot of people who previously would have been moral scolds are now, in a world where disbelief is increasingly mainstream, SJWs. They are the cultural enforcers, seen in every time and place in human history. The ideology is vague, but can be summed up as a ruthless enforcement of whatever norms the powerful want. That’s something. Might be vague, might be ever-changing and flexible, but that is something definite.

It’s just particularly perverse now that non-conformity is being raised as a cultural standard… as long as, of course, that non-conformity is socially approved, thus implicitly defeating the purpose. Makes a sick sort of sense, channeling independence and inquiry and tolerance itself against authentic independence and inquiry and tolerance. Raising victimhood into something seen as desirable rather than as something unfortunate, something that people should be helped to overcome and transcend. What results: my generation is now more likely to support a military coup and censorship than any previous one!

…the DNC announced this morning that the debate’s final question will be phrased as:

“Who (or what) are (or is) the backbone of our democracy?”

Did the DNC actually announce something like that, or are you just having fun? I don’t see that quote anywhere but here, so it’s probably the latter, but still, I could almost imagine them so asking and Warren so responding. Warren’s tweet is astonishing enough in and of itself, but it would be an order of magnitude more astonishing if it were a response to an open ended question, rather than just a pander to a specific organization.

So to you, bleating absurd falsehoods because these falsehoods are, in the immediate moment, politically convenient, is “pandering” — excuse me “reasonable pandering” — for an elected politician — even when less than 10% of that demographic voted for him in 2016, and this very likely will not change in 2020 — got it.

Personally, I prefer politicians who don’t insult my intelligence and test my patience — I would say proposing some kind of modest legislation for Blacks, maybe college grants for ‘young black leaders’, might be “reasonable pandering” — but that’s just me.

Trump never mentions Whites, the people who put him in office, at all — at the same time he rhetorically spews obvious, embarrassing falsehoods about Blacks, who are, given the abysmal academics and tremendous criminality of young black men, including not only the direct costs associated with that, but also the opportunity costs, without any doubt a huge net burden on the country.

I don’t understand what exactly her point is though. She says ““I am open to suspending deportations, particularly as a way to push Congress for comprehensive immigration reform.” But I don’t think suspending deportations would push Congress into doing anything.

I don’t think her voters want deportation of anybody who isn’t a rapist or murderer. I don’t think that’s maybe true of all Democrats — yet — but I think it is for her gang.
