The point of wearing light-colored scrubs is to make body fluids easy to see so you know when to change them.

But, in our ever more childish society where My Favorite Color logic is becoming dominant, woke doctors are switching to black scrubs.

Green scrubs became common for surgeons because the reflection of surgical lights off of white scrubs caused too much eye strain, especially during long operations. But yeah, dark colors aren’t a good idea.

People, I know that the Dems are given over to bat-shyte cray-cray, but the Republicans are so stupid that they really don’t deserve to survive as a party.

Remember they worked hard for decades to ensure that the USA was flooded with third-world immigrants. Enabling their own demise, as well as that of the nation as a whole. Good riddance.

  5. There are a lot of black face masks around now too. Have things reversed from the old Westerns, where the bad guys wore black hats, and the good guys wore white ones? (How true was that, anyway? All I remember from film class was when James Dean wore red in Rebel Without a Cause.)

Black is a standard fashion color, always ubiquitous in places like New York City and Paris. It looks good. White is difficult, for the very reason Steve alluded to: it shows everything. Doctors and nurses in black might look good, but they also can carry around icky, infectious stuff without knowing it.

Lots of doctors and nurses already wear dark blue or maroon scrubs that conceal stains. It’s the white lab coats that are designed for stain visibility. But the white coats aren’t worn for practical reasons but just as a uniform for doctors for signalling. They typically wear the white coats over professional clothing like business suits.

I’m not a fan of the scrubs. They look unprofessional and undignified, and you often can’t tell who’s a doctor and who’s a nurse (besides the obvious tells e.g. overweight black woman in scrubs is typically a nurse). Instead of sloppy looking scrubs, doctors should wear more formal looking attire.

In the Victorian era, before Lister and sterilization, the sign of a good doctor and surgeon was one with rolled up sleeves and hands and arms stained with blood and guts. People thought it signaled a doctor who knew what he was doing and wasn’t afraid to take charge and get his hands dirty. Kind of like how we imagine a good auto mechanic today as a tough guy covered in grease and engine oil.

  20. It’s 89 degrees at 7:26 p.m. in central Orange County. That’s very rare and quite miserable. My 14000 BTU portable air conditioner can’t keep up.

We were in Encinitas yesterday, and the Pacific ocean could not cool us down. It’s really hot.

Wearing black is stupid. Black fabric absorbs heat. It’s like self flagellation. Poorly timed article in a heat wave of epic proportions right now and threatened blackouts by Yoga Pants governor gruesome.

White is the color you want. That’s why they always painted race car headers flat white in the 1960’s. It diffuses heat to cool the cylinder heads, especially valves and gaskets. Flat black is what you paint the headers when they run too cold and want to warm them up. No light source needed.

The color, without light, can determine the temperature. Never get medical attention by a woketard in a black coat. They are so disconnected, that they want us to self-immolate in flat blackness.

But hey, Gov. Whitard is rocking the dominatrix black leather coat tonight at the convention, but she’s a cow. Perhaps you agree.

This is about what color scrub suit you wear. No one cares. (Sure there might be some hospitals that differentiate between OR and floor wear.)

When I read your title, I said to myself “Long coats, or short coats?” Interns and med students wear short coats. Used to be that even residents wore short coats (now, they often wear a medium-length white coat. The long white coat is the main status symbol (besides a Porsche, or course) of the attending physician in his prime.

The first thing a medical student does in med school is participate in the “white coat” ceremony, in which a distinguished physician, sometimes the student’s father, presents the student with a short white coat.

Until the early 20th century, medical students and pathologists wore black coats, out of respect for the dead.

Additionally, does someone who shares those beliefs, and has been admitted into a hospital for say, a heart attack, really need to awaken to overt and passive-aggressive political discourse?

A big challenge for the next generation of politicians is redirecting the NPC energy somewhere else than the panopticon sluices it, i.e. toward the most sensational, most inane, object-oriented outlets. They still do this even though they know it’s being permanently recorded.

I think even if Biden wins and the Democrats win the Senate you will find there are lots of American white conservatives whose lives and opinions will remain pretty much the same as they are today. The Reaganites didn’t get rid of the liberal Democrats a generation ago, either, when they were in power.

You are also not taking into account how the American elite of both parties conspire to get their own way. What are your plans for defeating them?

Your apparently visceral anti-White sentiments may be common among people like you but they always strike me as unconvincing. Maybe I don’t see enough White people giving up their own White privilege or that of their descendants. I disagree. In an office setting, there is no excuse for anyone to wear scrubs because in the event you need to do a small procedure, you can put on disposable isolation gowns.

However, in the hospital, scrubs are incredibly practical for eveyone. It’s easy to distinguish people by job if the hospital makes rules about scrub color/design. The only thing stopping this in most places is that female staff complain about not having the option to choose their own, but that should be ignored.

The idea that it’s important for hospital staff to wear attractive “professional” clothes is ridiculous–like complaining that modern combat fatigues don’t have the flair and dignity of old Hussar uniforms.

Doesn’t it appear that the medical community is becoming more of a joke and unprofessional by the day? First it’s dancing on Tik-Tok, then it’s female “Doctors” posing scandalous pictures of themselves on social media as a form of revolt against being held to high moral standards, and now we see more virtue signaling with Doctors bowing down to a neo-Marxist terrorist organization. Wonderful.

As for the color black, it’s my favorite and one that I’ been wearing most of my life. Black is the color of par excellence, those who embrace an “against time” philosophy in the metaphysical sense (IE. read Savitri Devi to learn more if interested), and those who reject worldly things (or reject the world as in being spiritually dead from it in Orthodoxy).

I wear solid black as a subtle way to show my faith (Russian Orthodox Christian) and ideology (National Socialist), but in a sophisticated, industrial-style that often receives compliments and at other times, comes off as intimidating — and enough to keep people from messing with me.

Unfortunately, some acquaintances and observers have suspected over the last couple of years that I wear all black as a political statement as in being far-left rather than far-right. Now, it’s even worse because people appear to be more prone at labeling me either “Antifa” and/or pro-BLM, rather than my chosen attire simply being industrial, Eastern European, and/or ideological — though most are too dumb to understand the metaphysical and religious aspect of it.

For the 2016 election, I was surprised that someone had already filled her ballot for/with her because it’s something we used to do, reading through all the gobbledygook together. Woke Manichaeism can’t have beige and chocolate. It can only be black and white.

Woke Manichaeism teaches an elaborate dualistic cosmology describing the struggle between a good, spiritual world of blackness, and an evil, material world of whiteness .[6] Through an ongoing process that takes place in human history, whiteness is gradually removed from the world of blackness and returned to Hell, whence it came.
