From Deadspin, a site for Woke sportswriters (whose numbers are Legion even if their readers are not so much):

BREAKING: Adam Schefter is a vacuous turd who embodies white male privilege

Julie DiCaro
Today 3:14PM

Adam Schefter doesn’t get that the election has real consequences for people who aren’t white.

Adam Schefter is a popular reporter and analyst for ESPN who covers the NFL as well as the NBA. iSteve commenter Lot points out that Schefter has 7.9 million Twitter followers, an enormous number. Apparently, he’s the guy who breaks the most stories about what’s going on in the NFL, such as injury and trade reports, news that’s hungered after by fans and bettors.

Sports media is overpopulated by privileged white people, myself included. But it’s especially populated by privileged white men, who are never called to account for their privilege or use it in any constructive way. America seems, by and large, OK with this: The “leave politics out of sports!” crowd has effectively shouted down and exhausted those of us who keep insisting that sports is not, and has never been, apolitical. For the most part, we try to pick our battles and ignore the rest of it.

But sometimes a white media person does something that evidences such terrible judgment, such lack of compassion or care for the people they cover, that it merits calling them out on it. Witness, then, this tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

See, because you think he means the Presidential Election, but he actually means the NFL trade deadline!

This is a poor attempt at humor during a good year, and a “fuck you” to every non-white person who has been and continues to be deeply affected by the actions and policies of Donald Trump in 2020. While the President continues to refuse to disavow white supremacy (shoutout to Jemele Hill, who was light years ahead of the rest of America on this one), while COVID continues to ravage Black and brown communities at two and a half times more than white ones, while people wait in line to vote for upwards of 11 hours in Marietta, Ga., this is the joke Adam Schefter decided to make.

He doesn’t have to worry about these things, you see. As a white man with a high-paying gig, he doesn’t have to think about the same things you do. He’ll continue to do well no matter who sits on the Supreme Court, no matter who occupies the Oval Office.

Schefter has built his career and reputation on covering a league that is 70 percent Black. It’s also a league that is run, coached, and covered overwhelmingly by white men. I have a pretty good idea who the audience was intended to be for Schefter’s tweet, but I hope the guys he covers in the league see it as well — and remember it next time they decide who they trust with their stories and information.

I know, I know, he was just joking, right? Okay, it was a bad joke, but he didn’t mean anything by it.

At what point, though, do we start holding people accountable for bad jokes that actively ignore harm to others in the name of scoring some Twitter likes? When do the white men who cover largely Black leagues have to walk a mile in the players’ shoes?

And, my God, when will sports media stop being a haven for mediocre white men to make hay off the suffering of others?

I don’t subscribe to cable TV and I don’t pay much attention to the NFL or NBA in recent years, so I’d never heard of Adam Schefter, age 53, but by glancing at some background on him, he doesn’t seem to be a mediocre white man, he seems to be a white man who is very good at his highly competitive job. Lots of people would love to be paid to talk about football and basketball on TV, and out of all that competition, Schefter has, over the decades, worked his way up to very near the top of his field.

A couple of questions: Do many Jews ever get worried that open season on white men with good jobs is turning out to be bad for Jews like Schefter, who, after all, disproportionately fill many of the jobs most lusted after by the Woke mob? Or does the notion that Jews tend to be, by current use of the term “privileged,” quite privileged and thus endangered by the War on White Privilege just Does Not Compute for most Jews?

We saw with the #MeToo cancellations of older white men with good jobs like Harvey Weinstein (deserved) and Senator Al Franken (undeserved) that a very high proportion were Jewish, in part because Jews disproportionately fill a lot of the really good jobs. But nobody except Larry David dared mention it in public.

But at least those victims did something to get in trouble.

Now, the Woke are turning on apparently perfectly innocent white men like Schefter in the hopes of ruining their careers by accusing them of White Male Privilege and getting their jobs instead. Once again, a high proportion of the targeted are Jewish.

Do Jews grasp that they comprise a remarkably high percentage of people with enviable jobs? Or, in deriding that fact as a “stereotype” and a “trope” have they come to believe their own propaganda, so it seldom occurs to them that they are promoting a job market pogrom against themselves?

Do you think Michael Bloomberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Chuck Schumer, Larry Ellison, Sergey Brin, and/or George Soros ever worry that all this is turning out to be bad for the Jews? Do any of them have a plan for after the election to slow this runaway train down?

Second, as I said, I’m guessing that Schefter doesn’t deserve to be called a “mediocre white man.” But I can think of somebody who does embody the meme of the Mediocre White Man being elevated far above his deserved station in life: Joe Biden.

Biden got elected to the Senate from a tiny state at age 29 and held that post for 36 years, then got a no-work job as vice president. He’s currently running for President by sitting in his basement.

How will having the epitome of a Michael Scott-style genuine Mediocre White Man as President going to work out anyway?

  1. One casualty of the Great Awokening is “humor”. We’ve already seen it with stand-up comics getting “cancelled” and self-censoring to avoid the Eye. Now, even making anodyne jokes using the oldest joke-construction blueprint in the book is enough to enrage the mob.

I’ve been a fan of Julie DeCaro, who has been a smart, interesting voice on the fringe of Chicago sports talk radio for a while. And she’s received a lot of abuse for being a smart, interesting woman talking about sports.

It’s disappointing to see this from her. It smacks of desperation. It feels like a cry for help. It has nothing to do with sports, which is what she claims to want to talk about.

And one line really stuck out to me: “When do the white men who cover largely Black leagues have to walk a mile in the players’ shoes?”

Julie, I valued your opinion because you are (were?) smart and interesting. But if only those who can play can cover sports, then I’m sorry but you can’t cover the NFL.

She’s Italian? Looks Jewish. Very much writes as if. Plus it’s totally logical for a Jewess to go after a Jewish man specifically to get his job. So are you sure?

Of course, for years I was confused about the mound of arrogant ignorance that is Joy Behaah, too, so probably I’m wrong and you’re right.

Either way, DiCaro should quit using that 20 year old pic as her Twatter avatar, since it’s at least 40 pounds out of date.

ESPN is even more “Jewy” than CNN if that is possible and has been since its inception in 1980. Boxing fan here and I USED to watch ESPN back in the day MAINLY for their boxing coverage. Al Bernstein, ( can’t get any more Jew than that) was a great analyst and really was very knowledgeable about the Sweet Science. Hell, look at how many Jews made their mark covering boxing, Bernstein, Bert Sugar, Max Kellerman, Teddy Atlas had a Jewish father, etc., and then you had Jews like Hank Kaplan and Jim Jacobs who both acquired all sorts of boxing memorabilia and films, etc. And the guy who put ESPN on the map, Chris Berman, was a Jew. And wasn’t Howard Cosell an Irishman? Isn’t Al Michaels an Italian? Love the time when Frazier and Ali got into that rasslin’ match during a Wide World Of Sports interview conducted by Cosell. During the interview, Ali looked at Cosell and said Howard you don’t have a muscle on your body, you have never played football, boxed, what do you know. haha.

The only Jew mentioned above that had any real talent, and should have been hired IMO, was Al Bernstein. The rest are second rate. Bernstein was a LEGITIMATE A lister.

I grew up in a tabloid-reading house, back when the sports writers had actual color and personality and zing: I was a nerd who didn’t give a rat’s ass about sports, but I devoured the sports pages from two or three tabloids every morning, first thing in the morning, even before I hit the funnies, because I was like, Damn, these mo-fos can WRITE!!

Scranton Wilkes-Barre Pa. reputation as a crack-addled town in Pennsylvania where hookers work a circuit between small upstate NY towns and Pa. ending up in Lucerne county prison is well deserved.

  31. pirelli says:

This “mediocre white man” phrase has really taken off. As far as I can tell, it began in 2015 with writer Sarah Hagi’s tweet, “Lord, give me the confidence of a mediocre white man.”

Now there are shirts, mugs, and bumper stickers saying, “Carry yourself with the confidence of a mediocre white man.”

    https://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2019/11/duke-university-genderr-sexism

So in its early iterations, the “mediocre white man” meme specifically related to the supposed self-confidence possessed by white men regardless of their actual abilities or qualifications, in contrast to the crippling self-doubt and impostor syndrome experienced by those wielding the meme (many tweets using the “mediocre white man” phrase refer explicitly to the tweeter’s impostor syndrome).

Now I’m not aware of any studies showing the incidence of impostor syndrome among different demographic groups, but… I’d put good money on impostor syndrome being rarest among the more vibrant and numinous human groups and most common among whites and Asians. I’d also guess that it’s more common in women than men, in fairness to the meme, but I wonder if that’s changing (or already has changed).

Or does the notion that Jews tend to be, by current use of the term “privileged,” quite privileged and thus endangered by the War on White Privilege just Does Not Compute for most Jews?

    Jews aren’t white.

Do Jews grasp that they comprise a remarkably high percentage of people with enviable jobs?

    Jews aren’t white.

Or, in deriding that fact as a “stereotype” and a “trope” have they come to believe their own propaganda, so it seldom occurs to them that they are promoting a job market pogrom against themselves?

    Jews aren’t white.

Do you think Michael Bloomberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Chuck Schumer, Larry Ellison, Sergey Brin, and/or George Soros ever worry that all this is turning out to be bad for the Jews?

    Jews aren’t white.

Do any of them have a plan for after the election to slow this runaway train down?

    Jews aren’t white.

Nah just kidding bros. As everyone here should know, race is literally only skin color and so groups with the same skin color are always the same race. Of course jews are white. There is probably a much simpler explanation for all these great mysteries

Speaking as a long time football fan, we all know who Schefter is. Nobody knows who Julie DeCaro is. Sounds like someone looking for attention. Also symbolic of 2020 in that a hysterical “educated” white woman attacks Trump on behalf of minorities who never asked her to.

Knowing many Jews, it will be a while before they see this isn’t good for them. Sort of like privileged Wasps in that regard.

Firstly, Miss DiCaro is totally wrong about sports always having been politicized. Long ago, at 10 years old, I’d watch 9 innings of baseball on TV with my brother often. (Man, that was long!) I don’t remember politics being discussed ever.

It wasn’t just sports, Achmed. Remember how apolitical Johnny Carson was? Carol Burnett? Saturday Night Live until at least 1986 or so?

Even political talk-radio, up until as late as the early-mid 90’s was very different than what it subsequently became. Legendary personalities such as Bob Grant, Barry Farber, and Barry Gray, (may they all rest in peace)– while there shows were all highly political, they all regularly transcended that too.* These men, as well as many of the callers, were colorful, witty, original, quirky characters. There was a candidness, camaraderie, a sense of community and more that were all lost when (as noted in a recent comment in another thread) the format went from local, home-grown and spontaneous, to syndicated, automated, homogenized, etc.

People have called Rush Limbaugh a great entertainer but to me his act was never much more than tediously excessive narcissism, mixed with regurgitation of mostly RNC/ Conservative, Inc. talking points. There was none of the great, often mischievous shtick and candid engagement with (and often heated confrontation with) callers that made Bob Grant so much fun.

*In fact, I can recall a number of instances when a caller to Bob Grant would complain of being frustrated and annoyed over getting into a political argument with a co-worker; a neighbor; or someone met randomly at a store or the like. And Bob would respond by admonishing the caller for even getting into such discussions in such settings in the first place. One particular I response I recall went, “Ah, wait a minute, now, stop right there. Why are you having political conversations with people at a Laundromat? I mean, why even bring-up the topic of politics in such a situation?

    This is a germane point.

I would add, though, that regardless of how such secular and estranged Jews may view themselves, they are definitely seen as Jews by those who are (mostly indiscriminately) hostile toward us. For the former not to realize and anticipate this; or to trust that they will somehow personally be spared the consequences that I fear are all-too-likely to result from their provocative behavior, seems incredibly blind.

Jews have traditionally been even more overrepresented among “sports journalists” than regular journalists. Boxing journalists have been even more Jewish. When white European boxers began to dominate the sport around 20 years ago, pushing out black Americans from all the middle and upper weight titles, most of the Jewish boxing journalists were seething. You could see their shock and anger as their negro golems were beaten over and over by white men.

Plus her looks are not “typically” Jewish although I have known Jews who look more or less like her – a lot of Jews look like Italians and vice versa, which is not strange because they are genetically related.

So while it’s not completely impossible that she is Jewish, there’s no evidence that she is. I rate this as another unz.com false positive, where the main criterion for labeling a person “Jewish” is that you don’t like them.

She could play women’s rugby, at the back of the scrum. Talking of this, World War T is still ongoing.

A victory for sanity here (World Rugby has banned trans players from women’s internationals and Olympic rugby), now a defeat. It’s ironic, as the caricature of the English Rugby union is of old buffers in blazers.

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/oct/14/rfu-clears-trans-women-to-play-womens-rugby-at-all-levels-in-england

Transgender women will still be allowed to play women’s rugby at all non-international levels of the game in England for the foreseeable future, the Guardian can reveal, after the Rugby Football Union decided that more evidence was needed before implementing any ban.

The RFU’s position is sharply at odds with World Rugby, which last week ruled that trans women could no longer play elite women’s rugby after a major review of the latest science concluded that the risk of “significant injury” was “too great’”.

However, the RFU’s view, which is understood to be supported by several other countries, is that more work is needed to assess whether there are safe ways to allow trans women to keep playing the sport they love.

The RFU told the Guardian that while it welcomed World Rugby’s work on this “complex subject which invokes many strong opinions” the organisation did not support all the global governing body’s conclusions.

“The RFU does not currently plan to adopt World Rugby transgender guidelines as it believes further scientific evidence is required alongside detailed consideration of less restrictive measures in relation to the eligibility of transgender players,” it added.

“We will assess the current evidence alongside safety concerns that have been raised. The RFU will also undertake further consultation with players in the women’s game to understand their views. The RFU is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion as well as safety and fairness across all levels of the game.”

The RFU’s decision means that trans women can continue playing women’s club rugby in England for now, provided their concentration of testosterone in serum has been less than 5 nmol/L continuously for at least 12 months. However, they are no longer eligible for selection for the Olympics or the Six Nations, competitions governed by World Rugby rules.

Last week World Rugby became the first international sports body to ban trans women from the women’s game following an eight-month review. It concluded that it was not possible to balance inclusivity with safety and fairness ‘in light of growing evidence that the testosterone suppression required by previous transgender regulations did not significantly impact muscle mass, strength or power”.

World Rugby said that biological males, whose puberty and development is influenced by androgens/testosterone, are “stronger by 25% to 50%, are 30% more powerful, 40% heavier, and about 15% faster than biological females. That combination of mass, strength, power and speed means that in a direct physical contest, cis women in all these domains will be at significant risk of injury.”

I’m not sure all the lesbian rugby players are going to welcome the competition.

Lots of Jewish people have Christian first names now. There was an article in the NYT around 20 years ago titled something like “The Celticization of American Jews” about how Jews were giving their kids Irish/Scottish/Gaelic names like Brian and Ryan as a way of blending in with the goyim masses better. The jist of it was that WASPy sounding names were a bad idea because WASP’s themselves no longer used those kinds of names and that taking on WASP names would make Jews more visible as an elite. Better to give your Jewish kids trendy Celtic names that a flyover country prole might have.

It’s the same reason regular reporters embrace leftism: It’s the post-Christian civic religion of above-average intelligence (though not especially reflective) people who are exposed to university level brainwashing.

I suspect it’s ramped up with sports writers, especially females, in that they cover a disproportionate number of black athletes and have to compete with hyper-competitive men. When they come up short, professionally, they’ve been coached to make excuses, like Hilary Clinton, and blame “sexism.”

Now is not the right time for mediocrities. The country is in dire straits. In the days or Harding and Coolidge, Americans may well have been better served with presidents who had no ambitions beyond keeping the ship of state afloat. But the nation is now in the process of being destroyed. These are times that require politicians and judges who are pro-active in fighting back.

  97. Hey speaking of crazy white wimmen, the Central Park Karen is going to get off with community service, no jail time, for calling the cops on that black birdwatcher. 98. @Jack D

Sports journalists are not more leftist, they just tend to suspect they aren’t taken seriously by the public and especially by news journalists — so they’re desperate to show that they do think about “real-life” issues and are not grunting male troggs.

Some sports people do have class, confidence or swagger, or are so far down their own rabbit holes they don’t know or care about sociopolitical issues. But there’s a real inferiority complex for many — imagine for example having to work at the NYT, where the sports section is a lonely forgotten backwater.

With more women in sports reporting you also have the need to stoke up drama and act tough, plus all the many other emotional issues reviewed regularly on this blog. And all this further infects male behavior.

The sports bubble is popping, and females have arrived just in time to fight over the rubbery little scraps on the floor

True enough. Though there have been some good female sports writers for decades. Not many but some. They can get the (mostly) male egotist athletes to talk more than some schlubby male jock wanna-be.

However, the NBA’s recent rock bottom Finals Playoff TV ratings (in admittedly, an odd year for sports and everything else) is a proverbial Wake Up Call. Ratings less than half of 2019.

You might think that with lockdowns, bad TV reruns (seen repeatedly by all) and little else of interest, sports championships would be great ratings TV. But the the NBA (and others) went all in on the Year of the Black.

Highly charged, implicitly anti non black people slogans slapped everywhere, new black (Black!) anthems being played, kneeling and genuflecting, etc. have created a visible and costly backlash. Can we say “blacklash”?

Sports writing/media coverage, like other paid media folks, is a buggy whip endeavor. ESPN, which now pays for most of Woke Disney foolishness, will tank in the ad biz. The ripples are just starting. Tinker Bell and Capt. Hook are reportedly talking with NBC/Universal.

Petty grievance mongering will circle the drain as layoffs rise. They can Woke all they want but if eyeballs are elsewhere (like say, international soccer or even domestic) no one will pay for watching or reading about old style American sports. Baseball might survive.

Sports keep most print newspapers somewhat afloat. Legacy readers too. If they lose that, what is left but tiny print comics and crossword puzzles? TV ratings, both local news and sports channels, will drop. Advertisers won’t pay just to reach the 13% black audience (who don’t really like politics in sports either) or the latte sipping females who lie about being woman’s sports fans.

COVID-19 and the Summer of Floyd have kneecapped sports fandom. The former randomly, the latter a deliberate surrender to irrational-ism and lefty Groupthink.

Concussion Ball and Blackestball are not going to grow audiences. Maybe Judo and Chinese basketball? The bitter tears now being shed by sports media executives taste all the sweeter.

    But that’s the M.O. of anony’s here.

Not really, but the M.O. of Coronavinus is lying both by omission as in this case, by omitting the very next sentence:

Of course, for years I was confused about the mound of arrogant ignorance that is Joy Behaah, too, so probably I’m wrong and you’re right.

“Probably I’m wrong and you’re right” is a simple clause, so simple even a paid troll should be able to understand it, and Coronavinus surely does, that’s why he’s lying by omission to leave it out.

But not just omission, but also by commission, such as the lie that a police officer was standing…standing…on George Floyd’s neck. Coronavinus has never retracted that lie, either, just kind of squid-inked around it. How much does it pay to drop into comments and tell lies, one wonders?

Anyone who they disagree with, that person is automatically labeled a Jew or Jewess. It’s a sickness. Seek professional help.

In the USSR the Soviets would label those who disagreed with the approved Narrative as somehow mentally ill, and during the 1970’s actually committed some dissidents to mental hospitals, where they were “treated” for their “sickness” in various ways, including electroshock and drugs.

Here we see Coronavinus following in the footsteps of the Soviet Communists by declaring that straw posters with whom he disagrees have a “sickness”. It is predictable, so very predictable.

I didn’t live in a big city with an actual radio big-name, Dissident. Thank you for that good nostalgic comment. I agree what you say about Rush, and I never listened much because I was pretty much off of listening to radio even when he started up. However, I think he was good for the conservative movement, such as it was, anyway.

I do remember SNL back then. Yeah, monologues were supposed to be funny. Of course, you make fun of public figures too, but it doesn’t have to be one-sided politically. I remember something about George H.W. Bush, and it was all just making fun of his expressions and manner of speech, not nasty vicious humor of any sort. (That was in the 1990s even, come to thing of it, the beginning of that decade anyway.)

It was a different country, you see…

This is just one reason I laugh when people say Jews don’t like sports. Not only do NY-area Jews follow pro sports with a passion (secular Jews, at least, I don’t know about the Orthodox), but we all grew up wanting to be Marv Albert. Actually playing sports is another matter — just being moderately masculine and athletic (as opposed to looking like Alan Dershowitz) is one reason people don’t suspect I’m Jewish. But I have known a few Jews who were real studs on the field.

Btw among current broadcasters no one is funnier, better prepared and packed with cultural referents and baseball trivia — often from games he actually saw as a kid — than NY’s Howie Rose. A Met game with Rose is like three hours in a bar with your crazy baseball-fan friends. Of course I’m talking about the past, I haven’t listened to a game this year.

I once came across an obscure sports/race story whose veracity I wondered about. In a book about black pitchers who had 20-win seasons, Mike Norris said that in Birmingham in 1974, a time when he was dating a local white girl, he was calling home from a phone booth when a white guy he didn’t know came along and beat him up. At least it’s more likely than Smollett’s tale.

As a person who lived in the South in the mid 1970s, I damn sure didn’t witness any of these stories about the poor Black man being persecuted and oppressed for the color of his skin. Hell, even back then, Blacks were getting their ass cheeks kissed, yes even in the Deep South. Matter of fact, my guess is that a White guy even in the mid 1970s when Birmingham probably still had some White folks living there, would have been in far more danger using a phone booth than a Black guy. Hmm, of course the story always involves some Black guy who runs into trouble for dating a “white girl.” MOST White guys, not counting the white traitor trash of course, learned long ago not to pay any attention when they see a Salt & Pepper couple, particularly the one involving the Black male and White female. MOST of the time, the white girl is just seeking attention anyhow, and it really pisses both the Black male and White female off when you act like you don’t give two shits. In the South and elsewhere, even in the 1970s, it would have been more likely for a group of Black males to attack a White guy dating a Black female than vice versa. Black guys get pissed off twenty times more than a redneck when it comes to their females dating outside of their race. Seen it so many times.

And yes, I used to happily waste my time watching and listening to plenty of sports, yes even Pirate games. Even reading about sports. I was asked several times by sports guys at the paper to move over to the sports desk. Now I mostly stick to the ponies, they don’t make asses out of themselves.

  123. @Anon

Why does it bother you if other people like to watch sports? It doesn’t affect you in any way.

Oh get real. It’s not sports as such, it’s the immature fascination with sports teams (and owners) that hate the guts of the White fans.

Not only did it empower those who hate us, it distracted a lot of White male energy over the last 50 years. Grown ass White men would think all was right with the world if some mostly Black team, owned by a Jewish social justice warrior, won some game.

It became a testosterone high that allowed them to think they were still men. All the while, their children’s rightful inheritance, a country, was being stolen.

The man, meeting one of the partners who was obviously Jewish, went into a speech extolling the miracle of America, where a Jew and an Irishman could work harmoniously, ending his speech with “…. Mr. Rabinowitz”, who replied in a thick Jewish accent, “I’m O’Brian”.

Didn’t all the Deadspin writers quit last year after being told to stick to sports? How did this one miss the memo?

Yes, they all left last year because they weren’t allowed to be woke enough and formed the explicitly woke Defector. Seems odd that the private equity owners of Deadspin who drove all the woke writers out would just turn around and hire new woke writers. Maybe the new ones are just a lot cheaper. Or depressingly maybe there is more of a market for woke sports writing than I thought.

  128. BTW,the joke about the NFL deadline was a pretty good one. How this is somehow “hurtful” to our long suffering black friends is not exactly clear.

    Indeed.

Read John Dean’s memoir of his years as counsel to the President and his precis of how Supreme Court nominees were vetted. Nixon relied on his chum John Mitchell (who’d had a lucrative municipal bond practice) to generate names. After his fiascos with Clement Haynesworth and Harrold Carswell, future nominees were vetted by the counsel’s office at the White House. NB, John Dean’s time in law practice was just about the least impressive of any person who has held that job in the last 50 years. Dean lists the names, gives a precis of his travel schedule interviewing them, and then gives the resolution. It’s all a lesson on what a wretched administrator Richard Nixon was. He assigns the task to the wrong people, they come up with the wrong names, and Nixon offers hardly any critical engagement in re the names forwarded to him.

The mere fact you went down the Jewish road is a tell-tale sign of your sickness. It’s not a Soviet propaganda thing, it’s just a factual thing.

“But not just omission, but also by commission, such as the lie that a police officer was standing…standing…on George Floyd’s neck…”

Wow, you get triggered by my hate facts. As I corrected you earlier, ma’am, I was employing a phrase. To stand on someone’s neck’ means:

–To be victimized by someone, who is controlling everything that you do and thereby preventing you to act or function normally.

Similarly, when someone prevents you to do something that you naturally do, and you feel like you are being controlled or manipulated by that person, to such an extent that you cannot even perform your basic activities or actions, one is appropriately using this phrase.

But, if you are zigging your wig because you want me to be precise, OK. The officer’s knee was on George Floyd’s neck for several minutes, which was one of the mitigating causes in his death.

It is obvious you want to lock up people for disagreeing with you, preferably in a mental institution of some sort. Perhaps a result of being around your employers too much?

“But not just omission, but also by commission, such as the lie that a police officer was standing…standing…on George Floyd’s neck…”

Wow, you get triggered by my hate facts.

I get bored by your tedious lies. It is not a fact that anyone stood on George Floyd, and so you are a liar as has been pointed out before.

As I corrected you earlier, ma’am, I was employing a phrase. To stand on someone’s neck’ means:

To place a foot on the part of the body between the head and the torso. This did not happen, therefore you lied. Pretty poor showing for a white, Christian man with children, isn’t it?

But, if you are zigging your wig because you want me to be precise, OK. The officer’s knee was on George Floyd’s neck for several minutes, which was one of the mitigating causes in his death.

You admit that you lied in your original comment, and now seek to correct it? But that would mean you were once wrong, wouldn’t it? Deliberately, knowingly dealing in falsehoods. Is that what you are admitting now?

“It is obvious you want to lock up people for disagreeing with you, preferably in a mental institution of some sort.”

That would be yet another one of your strawmen.

“It is not a fact that anyone stood on George Floyd…”

Again, it’s called context, something that you are completely ignoring. Again, “standing on one”s neck” refers to a person being victimized by someone, who is controlling everything that you do and thereby preventing you to act or function normally. Was not Floyd victimized by the cop as he held his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes, which played a prominent role in his death? Should not officers should avoid putting their body weight on a subject’s neck or head, lest the pressure of such a position potentially cause a fatal injury?

“PS: Have you ever noticed that you were wrong about something?”

Indeed, I was wrong that you would able to understand idioms. My bad!
