From the NYT:
For Bernie Sanders, Claims of Sexism in 2016 Campaign Hang Over 2020 Bid
As Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont considers another run for president, former staffers said he had failed to address the harassment and sexism they faced while working on his 2016 campaign.
By Sydney Ember and Katie Benner
Jan. 2, 2019In February 2016, Giulianna Di Lauro, a Latino outreach strategist for Senator Bernie Sanders’s presidential operation, complained to her supervisor that she had been harassed by a campaign surrogate whom she drove to events ahead of the Democratic primary in Nevada.
She said the surrogate told her she had “beautiful curly hair” and asked if he could touch it, Ms. Di Lauro said in an interview. Thinking he would just touch a strand, she consented. But she said that he ran his hand through her hair in a “sexual way” and continued to grab, touch and “push my boundaries” for the rest of the day.
“I just wanted to be done with it so badly,” she said.
When she reported the incident to Bill Velazquez, a manager on the Latino outreach team, he told her, “I bet you would have liked it if he were younger,” according to her account and another woman who witnessed the exchange. Then he laughed.
How dare Senator Sanders not drop everything else he was doing and wade into the minutiae of this incident, fully rehashing this deplorable/fascinating event?
Sanders in 2016 came out of nowhere by activating one of the more powerful forces in history: young male energy. This was widely assumed initially to ruin his chances with young women Democrats, but, whaddaya know, it turns out that young women kind of like young men! Especially young men who act like they are on a team with a leader and have a plan for taking power.
But, this kind of success must not stand:
Jeff Weaver, Mr. Sanders’s 2016 campaign manager and currently a top adviser, said in an email that … “Was it too male? Yes. Was it too white? Yes,” he said. “Would this be a priority to remedy on any future campaign? Definitely, and we share deeply in the urgency for all of us to make change.” …
Allegations of sexism surfaced during Mr. Sanders’s campaign in 2016, when many of his male fans were derogatorily dubbed “Bernie Bros” for their aggressive online attacks against female reporters and supporters of Hillary Clinton. But they did not overshadow the electrifying nature of his insurgent challenge.
Or, just maybe, over the last 600 years, young white men are the people who have gotten most of the big things done?
iSteve commenter Jack D calls our attention to this bit of interest in the article:
In her interview with The Times, Ms. Di Lauro said she told several people who were high up in the campaign, including Rich Pelletier, who served as national field director, about her encounter in Nevada with the surrogate, a Mexican game show host named Marco Antonio Regil. But she felt she was not taken seriously by the campaign.
Jack D asks: “Imagine if Trump had Russian game show hosts shilling for his campaign?”
These Latin American celebrities like Alicia Machado that the Democrats thought were their secret weapons in 2016 … Anyway, it sounds like the Latinx Outreach Division of the Sanders campaign was muy caliente!
In an interview, Ms. Mendieta said that she complained multiple times to Mr. Velazquez and Mr. Pelletier about Mr. [Arturo] Carmona and was repeatedly ignored, at one point being told by Mr. Velazquez that she should forgive Mr. Carmona’s behavior because he was “macho.” …
Mr. Carmona was promoted out of the Latino outreach group during the campaign and named a deputy national political director.
Commenter The Anti-Gnostic exclaims:
My whole worldview has been rocked. I’ll never look at Mexican gameshow hosts the same way again!

Somehow this brings to mind a dead-eyed semi-functional android that is being driven around from one grassroots event to the next for days on end to give a greeting and a robospeech to the assembly. The semi-functionality then degenerates into dis-functionality and dangerous robo-harrassment.
Then it’s off to the repairshop.
IMO it comes down to this: “It was Hilary’s turn to become president. Whoever got in her way is a bad guy”.
Beto will win 2020 in a landslide. Even dumb white trash will vote for him. As will the principled neoconservatives.

That said re this article what the left did that was smart in the past was they completely ignored the rational inconsistencies of their coalition of the degenerate moochers, But the jews are losing control because they have a shit long game that always ends in their deportation, their strength ( the ability to maintain a fifth column) is their weakness, they can never transition to assimilation and so they are always eventually identified as the culprits of what they have wrought. This time they tried a little riff by importing muds, again bad idea long term.rather than camouflage them within a larger outsider group they have imported stupid violent half apes that enrage sensible people against the very idea of the other, further they have delegated power to these apes to make it all look good and now the apes are turning on them because if anyone has less future time orientation than a jew its a mud. So now the holiness spiral begins and every day some greater dingbat like ocasia ups the anti on holiness and god help the first one to stop clapping. You literally cant stop this and so are ripe for satire and parody that even a middle schooler can get. This is how leftism ends the 500 year cycle is just about over, of course demotism always tries one last hail mary pass of fascism to save itself but we have been their done that so many times already and have the the chinese emperor and russian tzar emerging as models its likely we will simply skip evita hitler franco this time and move right into AI authoritarianism- trust me AI is not going to be fooled into thinking all men are created equal let lone apes and women
Later on she mentions the man in questions was a Mexican Game Show host named Marco Antonio Regil. Maybe Bernie can adopt a no foreign nationals as campaign surrogates rule for his 2020 run. We will see how bad Bernie thinks he needs the non-American vote.
The article also mentions the lack of pay transparency and that employees negotiated their own pay, which is a problem because men are more assertive about asking for more money. Samantha Davis, the director of operations in Texas and New York was making $2,400 a month. At a 40 hour work week that would be $13.84 an hour, so much for the fight for $15. It didn’t occur to Ms. Davis to ask for more money until she saw in campaign records that a man who reported to her was making $5,000 a month. Is this one of the dirty secrets of our political system? The people at the top make out like bandits and everyone below gets the crumbs or simply the satisfaction of sacrificing for “the cause.” What a racket.
“Sanders in 2016 came out of nowhere by activating one of the more powerful forces in history: young male energy. Yep.
Even though all those young white men where liberal, they were white men daring to stand up and do things. That was the no-no.
Does everyone understand how much time is spent at corporations on “addressing” this kind of event thanks to our laws and the EEOC. Sanders voted for all of that, so too bad. Now maybe he will see -just a bit – what everyone company in America has to live with under the threat of lawsuits and settlements, thanks to him and like minded Senators. You didn’t show Bolshevik vigilance Senator, so let the show trial begin.

We live in Kindergarten world. Every unpleasant interaction between a man and a woman does not justify running to teacher and demanding official justice.
Wasn’t the ultimate act of white male ally-ness when Bernie ceded the stage of his own rally to two moronic black women? Almost like cucking earned him approximately zero credit.
Your mention of Bernie reminds me of when those young black women commandeered his microphone. If he runs again in 2020, he has to be wary of the optics of white, cis-male aides keeping black women protestors from the mic. Whatever happened to Gaddafi’s Amazon bodyguards? They would come in handy.

The Zblog just predicted that the MSM would start eating some of their own, based on who the puppet masters feel should represent the Democratic party in 2020.
Why doesn’t Ms. Giulianna Di Lauro name the name of her harasser?
Apparently spending three years to sort out this imbroglio suggest the incident is being weaponized to further Ms. Di Lauro’s personal ambition and agenda, rather than correct improvident behavior. (Yeah, what else is new…)
BTW, Di Lauro is a rather Italian name–are they honorary Latinos? Or am I just not current on the semantic distinctions of Latinos and Hispanics?
[Insert The Rape of the Lock joke here]
Train your dogs to resent everything and then complain when they bite.
Steve,
Bernie Sanders always reminded me of Rocky Balboa from the original (1976) “Rocky” or Bruce Willis’ Butch the Boxer character from “Pulp Fiction”. To whit, a patsy or easy mark for Hillary to beat. The patsy gets pulled in, the Champ toys with him and then knocks him out claiming a fair fight, and it all looks legit to the yokels in the cheap seats.
Except Rocky, Butch, and Bernie didn’t follow the script and bloodied the Champ. When Bernie beat Hillary in Michigan, it was the first sign Her Royal Highnesses coronation was not a done deal. That said, I suspect these sexual harassment claims are a subtle warning to back the Hell off old man.
Ya think? Kind of like the movie "The Third Man" when Orson Welles' Harry Lime telling Joe Cotton's Holly Martins "You really ought to leave this alone, old man".
Mannn, Jewish New Englanders always gotta be touching Laťina hair.
This has nothing to do with Sanders or even his 2016 campaign – it’s just a power grab by women, especially women de color and any stick will do to beat a dog.
Two unforgivable sins. This coming from his own 2016 campaign manager, trying to get out in front of the bus before it runs him over. Won’t work.

Who the hell is drawing attention to these total frivolities and making them seem important and consequential and broadcasting them around the country?
The Democrat establishment and its allies in the media have decided on their establishment friendly candidates like O'Rourke and Harris for 2020. Women and blacks have a lot of sway in Dem primaries, so the Dem establishment and the media are going to play up the woman and race cards to get rid of Sanders.

What exactly does a Latino outreach strategist do, other than tell a campaign that their co-ethnics will vote for maximum government giveaways and open borders?
It’s worth revisiting Trump’s Latino outreach strategy: No Spanish-language campaign ads, websites, or memorabilia.

There was another gag-me moment during the prez campaign when Sanders pretended to find the actions of the Khmer Rouge repellent. Pol Pot's peeps killed only something like 25% of the Cambodian population. Not too long ago about 90% of the US population was white and at present it seems not unlikely that most or all of the honkeys here will be exterminated/absorbed within a century. Another Jewish guy (also at risk for being murdered by an anti-white POC coalition), Noam Chomsky, famously defended the Khmer Rouge.
Recently Steve Sailer (perhaps as a corrective to an earlier thread which resulted in Jewish and Gentile posters giving at least a very superficial appearance (maybe it's just me with this very crude impression) of pointing fingers at each other with respect to the slave trade) wrote something to the effect that Jews and Gentiles are, or should be, in the "same boat." I hope that proves to be true - in a good way - not as in the oft-turned away refugee-laden MS St. Louis -in turn not to be confused with the Spirit of St. Louis as in Charles Lindbergh - who expressed some nasty anti-Semitisms, but had a point about invading hordes (perhaps not including Adolf's "Honorary Aryans"). Flogging this further (we seem to be doomed; might as well have some fun) - here's also hoping it won't be a "Ship of Fools" - aka "Das Narrenschiff" -as in Rep. Adam "Narren" Schiff.

Bernie will be a factor in 2020. He ran on one issue — erasing student loan debt by taxing Jeff Bezos — and indications are student debt is getting worse, not better. So get ready for Bernie V.2, he’s gonna be back and the poor dears who are up to their eyeballs in debt will definitely forgive the occasional scandal involving an awkward pass.

The world would be a better-run place if media outlets like the NYT just came out and said “we don’t want Bernie Sanders to run in 2020. End of message”. They can’t or won’t just say that, so they have to find some lady who got her hair touched three years ago.

Which is why folks like me will never ever click on them.
The desire to issue ex cathedra pronouncements and refuse to engage with criticism, is a hallmark of egomaniacs; PCRs stuff has been one long ‘zeal-of-the-convert’ whine for about ten years (and it’s been at least 4 years since I read anything he’s written, precisely because he insists that we proles are not fit to question his Wisdom: in other words, he’s as ‘correct line’ as the SJWs).
I among several others responded to his rant in the comment field. I believe I called him misguided.
He then turnd off comments forever on everything. He made one exception a month or two ago when he decided to ask a question of his readers then closed them back down.
Though I like PCR, this behavior on his part shows a thin-skin and a haughty dictatorial manner which is almost as repugnant as his idiotic parroting of climate change propaganda.
I still read him and watch his occassional interviews, but he's diminished himself in our eyes, with shutting down comments.
Hey, Paul, don't read the comments if they upset you so. Don't censor them.

In the past, women could say, “I’m saving it for marriage”, even if it was a white lie. Nowadays, in most cases that’s obviously a lie so saying “no” is equivalent to saying “I’m just not into you.” Some women have trouble saying this because they know that men will take it personally.
One laughable aspect of this pound-me-too! thing is the idea that women are just now standing up and saying "no!". On the contrary saying "no" or "i'm not that kind of girl" was what young women were expected/supposed to say back in the day.
It is precisely "liberation" that has kicked away the social support/social expectation for women to say "no" and call out male misbehavior as ... uh ... misbehavior. The plain fact is once you kick away "the rules", male misbehaior is not misbehavior--it's just guys making a play, trying to figure out if she's game, encourage her to be game.
No rules--and the sort of "explore my sexuality" expectation--is a more difficult environment for girls because of their more compliant nature--both to the narrative and to individuals, especially authority figures.
~~
Back in the day this girl could have--without embarassment--just said "no", no fuss, no muss. Now--since some guy playing with her hair is flirty and fun--faced with a request from an authority figure she--being compliant--doesn't quite feel comfortable saying "no". Then the guy--of course--takes her assent as an invitation ... Bernie Sanders is supposed to deal with this crisis.
Hint for young women "No", "I'm not that kind of girl", "I'm saving myself for marriage", "Keep your hands to yourself!" are all perfectly reasonable--and AnotherDad approved--responses to male propositioning. Not dressing or acting like a slut is also extremely helpful. And believe it or not if you are attractive--not fat--personable and have "saving it for marriage" behavior, that package is actually quite appealing to men actually interested in marriage.

In my salad days, I lived in DC. I knew a fair amount of reporters and Hill staffers just by vicinity. According to them, campaigns were always a bit of a frat party environment. Long days, tense atmosphere and some drinks at the end of the day naturally led to a good amount of hooking up.
So I’m not sure what this women is worrying about. Then again, this was the 1990s, so perhaps things have changed.
Btw, according to the people that I knew, it was also well known that it was definitely more fun to be on a Democratic campaign than a GOP campaign. Actually I think bernie did the right thing. He kept his hands clean. And he let that man in the khaki hat do the dirty work. The man in the hat commandeered the podium and boxed out those two like it was a rutgers womens basketball scrimmage. He let the crowd know that they would get a chance to speak, but not until they calmed down and he had displayed his dominance. This was important. While all parties ideologically supported BLM, it is still human nature to disrespect weakness. The crowd would have perceived bernie as weak had that man not initially grabbed the podium and stood his ground. Notice the crowd boos the pair non stop and hardly lets them speak. Scummy low class behavior will never win over hearts and minds.
But that seems to be exactly the policy of the Coalition of the Fringes.

The Demise of the West: Part I –Do White People Have A Future?God Bless Paul Craig Roberts. (Comments not allowed at PCR Unz columns.)Replies: @Diversity Heretic, @Kratoklastes, @reactionry
“Paul Craig Roberts” rings a bell here only because of his posts on VDARE. Hail’s post is not at all off-topic. Not too many years ago Sanders was merely a standard POS crypto-Stalinist who claimed to support social democracy (most US Democrats and European Social Democrats have gone full (anti-white) Mengele)as well as immigration restrictions – in order to protect US working people. However, when asked something along the lines of whether black lives matter or if all lives matter, he (Sanders) said, “Black lives matter.” That got applause and he then went on to obfuscate/lie saying that Black lives mattered because a black woman died after being arrested and so forth. Leaving aside the truth that if Martin, Brown, Garner or Gray had been white, their lives would not have mattered nearly so much, Bernie avoided the burn which he would have suffered had he said, “White lives also matter.” (I can’t rule out the possibility that he uttered some mealey-mouth lie like, “Of *course* white lives also matter” at some point)
There was another gag-me moment during the prez campaign when Sanders pretended to find the actions of the Khmer Rouge repellent. Pol Pot’s peeps killed only something like 25% of the Cambodian population.
Recently Steve Sailer (perhaps as a corrective to an earlier thread which resulted in Jewish and Gentile posters giving at least a very superficial appearance (maybe it’s just me with this very crude impression) of pointing fingers at each other with respect to the slave trade) wrote something to the effect that Jews and Gentiles are, or should be, in the “same boat.” I hope that proves to be true – in a good way – not as in the oft-turned away refugee-laden MS St. Louis -in turn not to be confused with the Spirit of St. Louis as in Charles Lindbergh – who expressed some nasty anti-Semitisms, but had a point about invading hordes (perhaps not including Adolf’s “Honorary Aryans”). Flogging this further (we seem to be doomed; might as well have some fun) – here’s also hoping it won’t be a “Ship of Fools” – aka “Das Narrenschiff” -as in Rep. Adam “Narren” Schiff.

Aren’t young women — particularly good looking young women — supposed to learn to discourage such advances, or at least avoid the situations that are likely to lead to them? Some of my less pleasant if not precisely traumatic memories involve women I found attractive managing to politely but very unequivocally repel my advances.
We all have our cross to bear, after all. Men have to decide how they’re going to handle physical confrontations, for example. Those can be fun. It could be worse — I feel genuinely sorry for ugly women. They’re screwed, as a rule.
All this is called ‘the human condition.’ I’ve decidedly limited sympathy for suffering on the really rather diminutive scale Ms. Di Lauro describes — and I really don’t think much can or should be done about it. Learn to cope.

He then turnd off comments forever on everything. He made one exception a month or two ago when he decided to ask a question of his readers then closed them back down.

LOL to Hypno 'n Reg and if you trust a Waspy Charley Van Doren (with his hard-to-live-up-to pedigree) and a non-Waspy, brainy, nerdy Post Office employee nebbish Herbie Stempel, whom can you trust? With respect to Quiz Show, it's likely that Steve Sailer (wearing his movie reviewer hat; lotsa' hats in Miller's Crossing btw) observed that when HS (played by John Turturro) "took a dive" by giving the wrong answer, On The Waterfront, rather than right one, Marty, this echoed the dive taken by Terry Malloy (played by Marlon Brando) in the former. Stempel could be thought of as a "whistle-blower," though less charitable characterizations by Van Doren probably came to mind. I haven't watched a new movie in years, but find it easy and fun to imagine Turturro delivering Brando's words into Quiz Show: "You remember that? 'This ain't your night.' My night! I could have taken Van Doren apart! What do I get? A one-way ticket to Palookaville!..." - as well HS speaking, as he asks for forgiveness for the quiz show cheat, Turturro's line from Miller's Crossing: "Look in your heart!"
Sadly, we can't expect a Van Doren/Stempel remake title take-off of an acclaimed flick from 1973 - an iSteve-y Regression To The Mean Streets.

He said something to the effect that only then did he realize what obstacles government put in the way of business in this country. I’ll say this for McGovern–he was a progressive, but also an honest man who was willing to acknowledge error. He may be the last one of those we’ll ever see.

Women-only carriages around the world: do they work?
Jeremy Corbyn’s proposal to consider women-only carriages in the UK may have caused a stir, but he’s far from the first person to come up with the idea
Wrong. Beto is not female. The next president must be female. The next president does not need to be qualified, does not even need to be sane or intelligent, but the next president needs to be female.
So I'm not sure what this women is worrying about. Then again, this was the 1990s, so perhaps things have changed.
Btw, according to the people that I knew, it was also well known that it was definitely more fun to be on a Democratic campaign than a GOP campaign. More women in general and more women willing to have a bit of fun than the GOP campaigns. This actually squares with my non-campaign interactions with Hill staffers. GOP staffs were more men, and the women, while often quite pretty, were more serious. Dem women staffers were less, shall we say, grounded.
Btw, again, I knew a couple of reporters who followed Clinton and Dole in '96. The reporters were, of course, liberal, but to their surprise, the reporters who followed Clinton learned to despise him while the reporters who followed Dole came to like him.

I’m sure Bob Dole was likable, but unfortunately he was useless as a standard bearer for the conservative cause. He was a swamp dweller and didn’t believe in ideology any more than Paul Ryan does. His cynical detachment was probably one of the things those reporters liked about him.

Good catch. If accurate, it might be another case in which hispanic and latino men are (implicitly) considered either white or people of color whether it’s convenient to do so, which may become more common as the United States’ demographics change, and as — I think it was Derbyshire who mentioned it, or was it Sailer? — ”white” increasingly means ”not black”, as it does here in Brazil (to a certain extent).

LOL to Hypno ‘n Reg and if you trust a Waspy Charley Van Doren (with his hard-to-live-up-to pedigree) and a non-Waspy, brainy, nerdy Post Office employee nebbish Herbie Stempel, whom can you trust? With respect to Quiz Show, it’s likely that Steve Sailer (wearing his movie reviewer hat; lotsa’ hats in Miller’s Crossing btw) observed that when HS (played by John Turturro) “took a dive” by giving the wrong answer, On The Waterfront, rather than right one, Marty, this echoed the dive taken by Terry Malloy (played by Marlon Brando) in the former. Stempel could be thought of as a “whistle-blower,” though less charitable characterizations by Van Doren probably came to mind. I haven’t watched a new movie in years, but find it easy and fun to imagine Turturro delivering Brando’s words into Quiz Show: “You remember that? ‘This ain’t your night.’ My night! I could have taken Van Doren apart! What do I get? A one-way ticket to Palookaville!…” – as well HS speaking, as he asks for forgiveness for the quiz show cheat, Turturro’s line from Miller’s Crossing: “Look in your heart!”
Sadly, we can’t expect a Van Doren/Stempel remake title take-off of an acclaimed flick from 1973 – an iSteve-y Regression To The Mean Streets.

Instapundit noted that one of Fauxcahontas’s campaign stops on her upcoming Iowa trip is the town of Storm Lake, that bastion of upper-Midwestern-style diversity that’s been mentioned here before. Storm Lake is in Buena Vista county in NW Iowa — which is right in between Cherokee County, and Pocahontas County.
In the latter, Warren really must visit the eponymous county seat, which features a roadside highlight that Liz should find highly relevant and inspiring: i.e. a giant statue of the Native American princess herself:

The article also mentions the lack of pay transparency and that employees negotiated their own pay, which is a problem because men are more assertive about asking for more money. The trick is that, while Senator Sanders is far from perfect, he still has some part of him that cares about the average American worker and his nation. THAT cannot stand.
When, in 2016, he dared to say that open-borders immigration was not really liberal but was something pushed by the Koch brothers in order to drive wages down and profits up, why, that simply could not be allowed. He was assaulted by the monolithic corporate press with a coordinated attack of ‘racist fascist and LITERALLY HITLER’ until he backed down.
These ‘circular firing squads’ are not at base irrational (though the useful idiots on the firing line often are). Nothing gets out in the corporate press that is not scripted, and that does not serve a purpose, whether that be wearing down a non-100% corporate type, or only distracting us from something real.
Sanders is weak, and will typically fold under corporate pressure, but he’s maybe not a 100% reliable corporate whore like a Clinton or an Obama. So expect more of this, to ensure that we get someone like Macron or Clinton etc.
I'm starting to hope for the fast decline. The collapse. Conservatives are basically content to "fight" with internet comments. Trump can't or won't make real change to the root causes of our problems (antidiscrimination laws and affirmative action). What's the point?

Reg, I couldn’t find your comment just now (on another thread?), but you seem to be in a 3-lobed roll here, so I wanted to tell you that “rotary engine” is also a term for very old (approaching 100 years) aircraft piston engines, in which the cylinders would move and drive a shaft, while what looked like a crankshaft would be the fixed part. It’s nothing to do with the ingenious 3-lobed Wankel.
These engines had cylinders arranged evenly on a circle just like the subsequent “radial” engines, but the wrong parts would do the turning.

Greenland was the scene of a possible genocide by ‘First Nations’. But no one really knows what happened to the Dorset people.

Along with “Ultima Thule”, the Nazis also co-opted “Ein”, “Zwei” and “Drei” – indeed the entire German language. Surely this should no longer be used in Germany? Esperanto would be just the job.
Thanks–Steve’s edited post added his name came after my comments. I skimmed the article and this jumped out at me:
I see Senor Regil’s name mentioned far down the article, in the weeds, with all the “he said, she said, he said, she said” process allegations blarney–truly headache inducing territory.
Are these women being used or are they users? To you, it might appear as if someone like Alicia Machado or Professor Doctor Blasey Ford are pawns who are being made to beclown themselves, but inside the bubble these women are heroines and they are able to take this to the bank – speaking engagements, etc.
I don’t know. Quite possibly a little bit of both.
That may be true, but it makes no difference to the great mass of women either way. Our interests are harmed either way.

That graph implies that Japanese and Koreans in the USA, taken collectively, marry Whites (36%) more than they marry people of their own ethnic-nationality (34%). That leaves 30% to account for, which seems to be mainly other Asians, and looks like ~1% Black and ~5% Hispanic. Also a significant ‘Other’ category (~10%) which I don’t know what that’s picking up.
For Chinese it is 41.5% marrying their own ethnic-nationality and 28.5% marrying Whites, but the Chinese in today’s USA are on average less rooted than the K’s and J’s.

Kim Foxx in Chicago does the same.
Unfortunately, he’s not courageous enough to run as who he really is – a socialist economically but pro gun and anti amnesty. In a yuge Democrat field that platform could get some traction. But those really in power won’t let that happen.
I’m starting to hope for the fast decline. The collapse. Conservatives are basically content to “fight” with internet comments. Trump can’t or won’t make real change to the root causes of our problems (antidiscrimination laws and affirmative action). What’s the point?

I don’t blame them. Indians prefer Basmati rice which is an extra long grained, fragrant variety that is not grown in the US (the fragrance is a little like popcorn). Basmati is delicious and American rice tastes like library paste next to it.

Except the prosecutors in Bonfire knew what the answer was – they were doing it because they wanted to put bad guys away (regardless of their color) and make the city safe for the rest of us. Yes, it’s depressing that the people committing crimes are overwhelmingly “of color” unlike on Law and Order, but the prosecutors have no control over who commits crimes. Lady Justice wears a blindfold – she doesn’t care what color you are, just that you must be punished if you have broken the law. Pull a gun on the liquor store clerk or mug some old lady (who is probably “of color” too) – you’re going away whether you are black or white or green.
I can’t remember who’s feed it was but I saw on twitter that Krasner’s Philly has already seen its homicide rate shoot up.
Then there is this Rachael Rollins woman in Massachusetts. We seem to be reverting to some ‘60s or ‘70s “criminals are the real victims “ mentality.
Signs point to the half-Jewish, half-EastAsian kids retaining a Jewish identity, at least in the USA. We are still at peak prestige Jewish Identity.

Basmati is like champagne or Vidalia onions — it cannot be labeled basmati unless it was grown in certain designated regions of India and Pakistan. India has actually fought legally over attempts to mess with this.

They just let the terrible curry smells, garish music and paisley colors follow them around in one big dust cloud. At least Americans only send their military overseas. We aren’t really known for taking jobs from natives overseas or sending multi-generational hordes of Americans to go inundate foreign locales on a permanent basis.

A lot of people seem hung up on this. While there may some passing social relevance to it, in racial terms it’s exactly the same if it is WM-AF or AM-WF. Both create “Hapas” just as well.
I think the reason for this is simple: AMs and WFs tend to possess a dislike (perhaps innate) of members of the other category, so when they do form a couple, it is almost always a well-considered decision.
WM-AF pairings, on the other hand, often appear to be results of desperation, with predictably subpar outcomes.

A lot of Indian products are available outside ethnic groceries or are represented by American or mixed brands, but Indian garlic paste is far better than others. Trader Joe’s garlic paste is weak, possibly because of Mexican garlic, which yields larger cloves and is visually appealing but flavorless. Indian pride in seasoning means that the spice aisle of an ethnic grocery is worth a look. However the rice itself is rice. The South grew rice before it grew cotton. The texture will be there and I don’t see that its innate flavor would appear in a carefully done taste test.
In my view, AM-WF pairings tend to have significantly better outcomes than WM-AF pairings on average.
