The funny thing about this Dornic guy is that he is so accustomed to commanding the plebs from his high throne at CNN that he is completely oblivious to his own role in bringing about this state of affairs via CNN's full-throated endorsement of Racial Reckoning, and that his schoolmarmish tweets of "unacceptable" will stop zero bullets.

I gotta say that hit was very professionally executed. I wonder if the idea for the Hassid disguise came from the Guy Ritchie movie “Snatch.”
The killer was caught on video extensively. A mistake. That's evidence against him now. A professional would have spotted the camera and avoided it.
The killer was such a poor marksman that he had to rush up onto the victim and fire point blank range, at which point he undoubtedly left evidence including DNA evidence that can be used to convict him. A professional would have made the shot at a distance and left no evidence (probably using a revolver).
The make and model of his car was clearly visible, and there can't be that many of those even in White. If it was stolen, doubtless more evidence including fingerprints and DNA were left.
Quite likely the police already have a very good idea of the killer, who paid him, and others involved. If they make arrests and prosecute are likely political decisions made by DAs who are in the debt of the criminal organizations themselves (don't hold your breath). That likely accounts for the amateurishness of the assassination -- the killers likely believe at any rate that they are protected politically. They very well may be so in fact.
Those traffic cops in the Lincoln Tunnel melee aren’t actually cops. They are traffic agents, who despite being part of the NYPD have no police powers and no real authority beyond issuing tickets.
It’s very odd that the camera just happened to be in the right position with the right exposure (at night) to capture good video of this. It’s so bright out there that it looks like they’ve set up strong professional studio flood lights to illuminate the scene beforehand. It’s astonishingly bright for a ‘random’ night video scene. What’s more, your average black gang member takes aim at other gang members, not some random white TV news guy walking down the street.
How do we know this is real? CNN has been having massive ratings drops ever since Biden became president. I wouldn’t be surprised if CNN is faking this video so they have something to broadcast.

I have to say that many of the commenters on the Twitter thread were using this incident to condemn CNN for supporting Defund the Police, which I don't think is quite the right criticism. After all you can't have a police officer on every street corner to protect against random shootings. The correct criticism is that incidents like these discredit the narrative that CNN has been pushing on America, which is that police violence is the problem. The more this sort of thing happens, the more it becomes clear that we have a major problem in America that has nothing to do with the police.
I cast my vote to any colored person. The darker the better.

Hard to say. Random violence never occurs at the same rate. Going back all through human history, there is always some level of background violence occurring among the general mass of all tribes/nations/races. On an absolute level, more violence is occurring, simply because there are so many of us now (8 billion and climbing). So, if a given population, say 1,000,000 has an annual rate of violence of 1%, then there will be 10,000 violent incidents occurring within a year, on average. If that population rises to 300,000,000, and the average rate of violence remains about the same, now there will be, on average, 3,000,000 incidents of violence. Having said all that, cultural changes and pressures influence the rate of violence, so it shifts in different directions, sometimes rapidly.
Also, a novel situation: more cameras then ever before distributed across the country and the planet (think of all the smart phones out there, along with fixed cameras increasingly deployed in major metropolitan areas, dashcams in cars becoming more frequent, police departments deploying bodycams, etc.). So, incidents of random violence that would have gone unnoticed or unreported (garden variety) in the past can now be uploaded to internet and editorialized endlessly, and it makes it “feel” like violence is exploding everywhere.
Steve likes to point to/discuss Pinker’s book The Better Angels of Our Nature every now and then, as a positive trend in human civilization, but I remain on the fence. Pinker’s analysis shows a long term trend downward of general violence, true. But I don’t know how to account for effects such as the exponentially increased killing power of weapons in the last 200 years, the hyper surveillance society that emerged in the late 20th century (all the cameras described above) and the cultural influence of mass media (i.e. the prevalence of police/crime procedurals in movies and TV, especially in the 1990’s/2000’s with shows such as L & O, CSI, Criminal Minds, etc., saturating the public mind with the idea that, you may commit the crime, but we’ll ALWAYS find you with technology and smarts).
