David Rozado, a professor in New Zealand who does lots of big data analyses of the media that I’ve often featured, tests the political bias of the new ChatGPT artificial intelligence BS generator by asking it the questions in a standard ideological survey (Pew’s Political Compass):
The AI comes out well down into the left-liberal quadrant, what Pew labels “Establishment liberal.”

First have two dials (simulated in a GUI), one for each axis on the political compass.
Train it by having literal NPCs (instances of the program) battle it out on Twitter and see how many humans are sucked in.

This is the Left redefining a known and used concept to label their perceived modern enemies as "Bad People". Historically (and now) those authoritarian leaders were the first to abolish free speech according to their whims and political ends.
I regularly label the Left/Woke/Dem Prog Axis of Evil as "Comrades" and "Commissars" redolent of the former USSR (and some modern Communist states) because their style of operation is similar in style, technique, objectives and intentions.
This is reasonably correct and certainly arguable based on fact. Our current version of course is not officially "Communist" in party label or organization. That is a mere detail.

Off-topic copypasta of a tweet by Peter Moskos, below the fold. It’s very iStevey and pertains to Portland, Oregon’s skyrocketing homicide rate.
Moskos is a former Baltimore beat cop, now a prof of Criminal Justice at John Jay College in NY. So his pedigree says he could be worth a listen. Often enough, I disagree with what he writes, but he’s sane-left, not woke.
Interesting that this “AI” when supposedly representing a “fascist” comes out in favor of totally free speech, even if/when said speech offends some groups. With impolite reference name, group name, etc. and even manages at least one valid arguable point (speaking honestly about ones beliefs.)

I tried out the GPT-2 image generator the other day and I think the bias is really in Google search itself, which is presumably where the AI gets data from and was trained on. “Math Genius” returned images that did not even get into uncanny valley territory as they were definitely not human-looking but it was clear that the AI was *trying* to create images of Black men in front of chalkboards.
But where does it fall on the Hot/Crazy Chart?
Interesting – that’s pretty much where I place on that chart, too. If AI agrees, that’s either evidence of bias in its programming, or it just shows that given what we know about the world, being leftist libertarian is the logical thing to be.

Mass immigration has so fundamentally changed Canada that there is no longer a viable Quebec separatist movement. All of the French speaking Haitians, Africans and Arabs have no interest in leaving Canada. Which is remarkable because 30 years ago a teenage Trudeau lost a youth debate when he defended the federalist side against the vastly more popular independence side.

There’s a meta-level story about Nick Fuentes that isn’t being covered.
This is what it looks like when smart, ambitious white guys are cut out from the establishment.
In another saner world, Fuentes would be a world-class litigator, likely mopping the floor with most Ivy league grads. He should have received a scholarship to a top 10 law school and been absorbed into the establishment blob. But he wasn’t, being a bad-think gentile. Instead, he created a streaming platform that gets higher live viewership than several CNN shows.
Fuentes went to college in 2016. What will it be like for future high-aptitude Fuentes-types that are college-bound in 2026? Realistically, many will skip college and view the establishment with overwhelming hatred. This doesn’t bode well for the establishment, or the various groups running it.
Fuentes is more of a ‘there’s money on the extreme right and the left got Richard Spencer and David Duke got old’ situation. He really doesn’t have enough mainstream appeal to gain power.
The DailyMail has an article about guns killing over a million Americans since 1991 and that the rate has risen the last 3 years, blaming it on gun sales and Covid. Zero mention of BLM or the Martyr Floyd.

Has anyone ever been helped by one of those costumer service chatbot or phone recordings? I certainly prefer to talk to a person. They don’t always help, but at least it’s quicker (then again, sometimes you get one of those Indian or Paki guys with horrible accent and you can’t understand them and they can’t understand you.)

Was it ever a Great White North? Last time I checked it was a monarchy, a colony reporting to British Monarch. With subjects, new ones making a feudal oath, old ones born into it. Canada was founded by Loyalists that preferred to be the subjects, not of some kind of Greatness or Northness.
