At the end of the video, the man who got curbstomped by Black Lives Matter enthusiasts appears to be resting in peace, so this was “mostly peaceful,” as The Megaphone likes to say.
I can’t find anything online about this beating. The setting looks like the famous Mission Inn in Riverside. The non-blacks who seem concerned are holding signs saying things like “I can’t breathe,” so this appears to be part of the ongoing George Floyd Riots. If you know more facts, let us know in the Comments.

Something I’ve been wondering: the cheerleaders are obviously engaging in intra white warfare. But on the ground, how many of the antifa types are mentally ill rejects from white society, trying desperately to find community with another race. It would definitely fit in with older blacks’ nervousness that white people wanting to hang with them – are they getting our losers?
The younger blacks seem to have similar intraracial dynamics to young whites – a lot of them, up to quite recently would always make a point of mentioning their “white friends”, to show their cosmopolitanism relative to whoever’s closest.
So – stay with me here – how much of the new rage is to do with constantly being subjected to disingenuous whites in power on one end, and our detritus on the other? It wouldn’t make for good race relations, regardless of whether or not they realize that most whites aren’t like that.

Just saw a totally over the top FB post from a college friend who is a senior muckity-muck at some big private equity firm.
He’s the Whitest man ever, blond hair golden boy country club White.
His post read like it was written by the SPLC — “I rarely post on on FB, but feel I must speak out against racist racist-y racism against Black bodies…” etc etc.
He says they will have “conversations again” with their 3 uber-White children about their privilege. Their family “has a responsibility” to “use their privilege” to donate to BLM, SPLC, United Negro College Fund (or something).

There was a dust up in the last 48 hours on Twitter where Matthew Yglesias briefly implied that he was speaking truth to power and challenging the group think, censorious forces that dominate new media. A brief, brief glimpse.
Yglesias’ embrace of the one billion Americans goal and his inherent weirdness means that he might never be one of us, but his high intelligence and general autism means that in the end, he will never be quite one of them.
We can take some solace in that.

Watched a video from one of the protests/memorials today. They had a DJ, breakdance floor, and the masses were doing “the wobble” as a group. Lots of weird looking Androgynous/fat/pale “Antifa” looking whites were letting loose.

It is possible that George Floyd may have had a rare reaction to fentanyl, skeletal muscle and chest wall rigidity.
The rigidity might explain his apparent resistance to getting out of or being removed from the car with his friends, his odd gait, the stiff way he sat down against the wall.
The chest wall rigidity (wooden chest) makes breathing difficult to impossible. Air hunger as opposed to the usual opiate overdose when the respiratory center doesn’t feel the need to breathe.
The police on the scene spoke of excited delirium. Floyd seemed confused, he seemed to resist, although more passively than actively, not striking out in any released video. In that light, their initial actions were by the book, restrain, wait for the paramedics to show up with sedation.
Keeping a man in prone restraint when he can’t breathe well, pressing down on him, not good. Not taking action when he went unresponsive, horrific.
Many people in excited delirium are aggressive. Floyd was not, as far as we know. He was very big and strong and seeming resistance gets interpreted as threat. The cops made a diagnosis, got tunnel vision.
Could fentanyl induced rigidity be ruled out by post mortem testing, depending on the metabolites, how much earlier Floyd took it?
Anyway, it has potential for the defense, and maybe for a whole new spate of riots.

I saw a self-defense DVD which said if someone points a gun at you, mess up their aim by stepping aside so that they have to re-position their weapon to shoot you. Sort of like the major advantage of a semi-auto rifle over a bolt-action is that you don't have to reacquire your sight picture if you miss.

I used to have a neighbor who was a university professor in one of the more useless fields. She was a German immigrant, also. One day another female neighbor told me the woman came over to her house with a huge revelation. The Kraut had had a party the previous night and had met a new love interest. Or as she phrased it to my neighbor, “I have taken a new lover… und he is BLACK!” The woman was absolutely quivering with excitement. I noticed the guy’s car in her driveway on many occasions during their courtship. He had a vanity plate which was obnoxiously Afro-centric and also seemed to reference his, ummm, ‘physical attributes’, shall we say. I was amazed he got it approved. Believe it or not, the Kraut actually married the guy, sold her house, and moved into his home the next county over. I understand they’re still going strong. Ironically, the new homeowner is an elderly Black woman whose daughter is herself a professor at this same university in a field even more useless than the Kraut’s. Several years ago yet another professor at this school (in a relatively useful field) moved into the neighborhood. He had a good laugh when he learned the Kraut was a previous resident. He was not a fan. He claimed she had become the personal pet of her Lesbian department head. The Dept. head had managed to secure her a $40,000 raise, which, apparently, is almost unheard of at this particular school.

Part of the reason is that a lot of foreigners are psychologically living in the United States, or at least the United States that is presented in the media. If you spend a lot of your time watching news and drama about the US it seems realer to you than what is happening in your own country.

At 20 yards the spread can run from 9 inches up to 17 inches, depending on the load.
At 45 yards the spread can vary from 25-33 inches.
A rule of thumb is about an inch of spread for each yard of distance, depending upon the load and gun.
Reduced power 2 1/2 inch loads usually have smaller spreads than 3 inch magnum loads.
A 12 gauge shotgun used correctly will pretty much guarantee a one shot stop. But if you just point and shoot, it is very likely you will miss.
Don’t post online or mention to the police that you “shoot to kill”. You shoot to “Stop the threat”.

But the main reason that mass looting wouldn’t happen in the big cities is because most stores and commercial buildings already have their own private security on stand-by. Having said that, as a microcosm, Lee Harvey Oswald and his ‘progressive’ associates (of both a Right and Left bent) prior to the assassination very much fits into what you describe.
Oswald had a very negative personality that most could barely stand to be around, beat his wife, forbid her learning English to keep control of her, couldn’t hold on to a job.
Were Oswald around today he’d almost certainly be afflicted with TDS, be a Bernie bros and into BLM, have purple hair, live with his Mom working when, and if, he felt like it, beat his live in girlfriend, and be out rioting and looting, and making a great show of being arrested, a type of martyrdom for the type to score virtual signal points with.
Yet, in the early 60’s the Paine family, a family very much within the realm of the establishment progressive left, like JFK and the Kennedy family, befriended the Oswalds, and took them in. And, too, there was George Mohrenschildt and his wife, who lived something of a quasi Bohemian, almost Beatnik existance, yet were more of a progressive right, ie Bush, McCain.
It’s as if these progressive sorts, despite Oswald’s negative personality, were attracted to Oswald’s having the courage to act on his convictions and defect to the Soviet Union, and live there, something these self declared progressives might like to do themselves inwardly, but, lacked the courage to do themselves.
Befriending these thugs, whether BLM today, or an Oswald of yesteryear, allows these progressives to live vicariously through them, whilst simultaneously scoring virtue signal points.

I saw a self-defense DVD which said if someone points a gun at you, mess up their aim by stepping aside so that they have to re-position their weapon to shoot you. Sort of like the major advantage of a semi-auto rifle over a bolt-action is that you don’t have to reacquire your sight picture if you miss.

There is a gun that was designed to be maximally user-friendly to the totally inexperienced and under-trained: the Kalashnikov. The Armalite is very good in this idiom, with its ergonomics and low recoil, but it’s a hair more buttons to learn. I don’t like the idea that a shotgun is “easy,” especially for a newcomer — they should be pointed to a good pistol caliber carbine (intuitive reloading into the handle, almost no recoil, smaller caliber and range minimizes danger of penetrating walls and hitting unrelated parties). What I don’t like about Kalashnikovs is “AK Clack;” when you push the safety to the “Fire” position it makes a characteristic sound. If you want to quietly activate it, you have to gingerly move it into position.

When you pull the trigger on a 7.62×39 you better be sure where that bullet is going to end up. For the inexperienced, 20, 28 or .410 gauge shotguns or a straight wall pistol caliber carbine make a lot of sense. Encouraging ghetto residents to have a single or double barrel breakopen gun too long to easily conceal in their house would be “sensible gun control”.

This is something that I haven’t seen made much of: Here in the Bay Area the gun stores are emptying out of supplies. The few that are even opening have lines and 3-4 hour waits to get in. Once in, you find mostly empty shelves. Forget about the waiting period and all of that, you can’t even order a gun if they don’t have it in stock. No manufacturer will take the order to get it delivered around here. I’m already well armed, but on a lark, I drove out to the Central Valley (traffic still light enough to make this doable in a day) and found, thankfully, places where no one wore face masks, but the same story.
The guy at the counter told me they get a few guns in in the morning and they’re gone (usually sold to people driving out from the Bay Area) within 10 minutes.
This has made a generation of liberals into gun owners or at least gun appreciators. I suspect when this calms down (and it will), people will again be saying it’s a Trump 4-d move.

From what I have heard from development workers, in Asia the men end up with local women, in African the women end up with local men. In Latin America both the men and the women have local lovers.

Lol he replied to me in a long private message. Gist of it was he feels so guilty for living in a supermajority White suburb.
Less than 1% of public school students in his town are Black, so he and his wife made a big sacrifice to sent their kids to a private school with a higher percentage of Black students (lol, yes he actually said this but didn’t say what the % was — prolly 2%).
He mentioned when he lived in Bay Area his kids went to a school where Whites are 1/3 of student body and that experience was helpful in helping his kids understand their White privilege. [Ermm…high functioning Asians don’t count].
The man was falling over himself to explain and justify. He must have thought I was a holy SJW of some kind, he was trying to prove his SJW bona-fides. Then he said he and his wife are “having conversations” with their 3 kids about structural racism or something, and that “2 kids will be easy, 1 is going to be tough” yeah my guess is that’s his son who will grow up to hate him.
It nauseated me.
