Number of high-profile organisations are forced to distance themselves from Black Lives Matter as they say organisation has been “hijacked”

1 July 2020 • 9:30pmThe BBC has told its presenters and guests not to wear Black Lives Matter badges as the campaign was accused of “hijacking” George Floyd’s death for political reasons.
Bosses at the corporation have decided not to allow “visual symbols of support” for Black Lives Matter to be worn on screen, senior sources told The Telegraph.
It comes as a number of high-profile organisations were forced to backtrack on their support for the Black Lives Matter movement as its UK arm publicly criticised Israel and called on the British government to “defund the police”.
Two previous eras of black supremacist ideology — the late 1960s and the early 1990s — both came a-cropper when they got too many Jews peeved at black anti-Semitism. For example, Spike Lee’s soaring movie career got shot down when he satirized Jewish music industry businessmen exploiting black musicians in his 1990 movie Mo’ Better Blues. Spike never got an Oscar until his lame BlacKkKlansman in 2018 added a made-up Jewish hero.
We’ll see whether the pattern repeats a third time …

There is nothing contradictory here. The riots were openly praised and supported, the amount of crime and destruction had zero impact as the media wanted to portray this as positive, which they did. It’s a British saying for “have an accident”, the term usually implies as the result of some mistake on the part of the injured person/party.
Last good movie of his I thought was the Summer of Sam which still wasn’t terrific but at least I sat through it all the way to the end. I got to admit I enjoyed Malcolm X, it was well made but I wouldn’t even sit still for it now, I’m very uninterested in the black experience, no matter how well acted or shot. One thing I remember thinking about Malcom X is at the end when they showed current Blacks (mid 90s) showing their appreciation for the man and it seemed to be visual proof of how impoverished culturally American blacks had become over the 27 years since Malcolm’s death (1965-1992). Things have not gotten better.

The BBC did a documentary on Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the place where a huge amount of incredibly important US popular music came from. (BBC Storyville, 2014) They focused on Fame Studios, built from the ground and run by Rick Hall, a white southerner. The studio band, the Swampers, were all young white locals who learned by doing, and they went on to record with many of the greatest black artists in America. Everything about Rick Hall and these southern white boys goes against the narrative that you present here, a narrative that pervades current US culture, namely that all southern whites were racists. Watch this documentary. It paints a good picture of how white musicians, producers, and engineers worked side by side with black musicians and singers as equals, regardless of the racism of some in society.
