The much lauded Racial Reckoning began with George Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020. Unlike virtually every other pundit, I was adamant from the beginning that the return of the Black Lives Matter movement would get more blacks shot by blacks. So, I’m taking various victory laps trying to find the best way to get across what actually happened.
The CDC’s newly released counts of homicide victims by race by month confirms my foresight. If you treat the last seven months of 2020, June-December, as the George Floyd Era and compare it to the number of homicides for the same seven months in the average of 2018 and 2019, then you see that black homicide deaths were up 53% during the George Floyd Era.
Hispanics died in larger numbers too, up 39%, followed by American Indians (+29%), and whites (+21%).
Interestingly, despite all the blanket coverage of hate crimes against Asians, the total number of Asian homicide victims was only one percent higher during 2020’s last seven months, during the pandemic, than in the average of the two previous years.
So, can’t they just be happy now that they are pulling ahead in something?
It’s unclear if there really was a true uptick or just robberies in say, the Bay Area increased and many of them involved Asians or disproportionately Asians. And we know that FOBs tend to have more cohesive communities who might complain about an increase in assaults they might notice.
For the most part the assaults on Asians by blacks in places like NYC represent territory marking harassment which is seldom fatal. Again, if this has increased in a particular way different to assaults on other outgroups.
Black Twitter would point out all the racist whites out there doing the killing.
Troofs super hero secret identity is “Black Twitter”?
Steve, did you make that prediction in merely conclusory fashion, or, did you say what the mechanism would be? If you stated the mechanism, did subsequent research as to the mechanism vindicate you? Before you take your victory lap…maybe you got the right result for not quite the right reason; perhaps your mechanism was only a cousin of the actual mechanism, in which case you should be awarded only half a victory lap.
A Jewish guy once said that a prophet is without honor in his own country.
About 50 years ago, a certain American professor gave a lecture in Israel for which he was to be given an honorarium. However, he returned to America before receiving the honorarium. The honorarium was sent to him in America, but there were various fees involved in the transfer that reduced the honorarium to almost nothing. Hearing about this, one of his colleagues observed that an honorarium is without profit, except in its own country.
It’s much harder to reconcile the increase in white and “Hispanic” (Herspanic) deaths because how much can be attributed to Floyd’s suicide and how much can be attributed to Kovid policy?
I'd like someone to look at all the homicides in a smaller city, say Sacramento, with 57 in 2021, and analyze the details of each one. Is it solely gangs and drugs? Guns and arguments? Revenge, crazy episodes, drug rage, covering up a previous murder, what?

Law enforcement doesn’t care. They will continue to unfairly brand us as the #1 domestic terror threat no matter how much we point out crime data.
And the public is completely invincible to the truth anyway.
Crime stats have been a losing strategy for the new right/white nationalists/etc for decades. We’ve been pointing out the crime data for years to people who routinely shut us down and call us terrorists. Let’s find a new way forward that DOESN’T involve begging for sympathy from the cops – who have FAILED to do their job and protect America from illegal immigration, drugs, crime, and corruption.
There is no justice — just us.

How about a monument to Floyd made from (replicas of) African(-American) skulls? The MLK Memorial in DC appears to be about 7,000 cu ft. That would require 155,000 average human male skulls. There are about 22 average male crania to a cubic foot, so design accordingly.
Heck, you wouldn’t even have to follow through. Just start a crowdfunding campaign guaranteed to get cancelled. The publicity would be gold, and almost free.
You could also make a model or bust of Floyd from spent casings from the local firing range.
But you (and the other commenters) are right. People don't care about statistics or data or facts. If they did they wouldn't be BLMers im the first place. Provocation is the way to go. A monument of skulls sounds great. Maybe after headshrinkers get done with them, but otherwise this sounds a little high to me. I would be surprised if you can get more that four skulls, probably in a tetrahedron configuration, into a cubic foot. At that rate you could fill the MLK monument in just over nine years. That would be an excellent visual: black skulls gradually filling a transparent MLK monument over the course of the decade in memorial to black killed by BLM.Replies: @J.Ross, @Reg Cæsar
I care more about people in my own demo who are victims of black crime. Like the UCLA girl who was killed by the black vagrant a few days ago. A serious country would not allow people like that to move around freely.

Well that’s a much better suggestion than what I was going to make, which is that I found that the graph of 2020 murders by week that Steve posted some time ago was pretty convincing because you could see the flat plain during the initial lockdown run into the sudden escarpment of lethal BLM exuberance on the weekend of George Floyd’s death.

If there has been multiple car jackings at the same gas station, then some of the employees are involved. There is no way that a small business man would tolerate his business being ground zero for crime unless the small business man was profiting from the crime.
The problem isn't the business owner--the problem is a legal system and a government that won't protect its citizens/subjects but also won't allow them to protect themselves.
Here’s the deal:
If you assume they’re telling the truth, their words and behaviour are extremely baffling. Inconsistent, make no sense, lots of conflict between public words and private behaviour.
If you assume that they aren’t drooling morons, but are just lying, everything makes perfect sense. “Ah, they just hate Bantu and want them dead and/or in terror.” All of a sudden all their actions are perfectly consistent.
Kendi says whatever he thinks will whip up the most strife and envy.
Can you think of something that would whip up more? I certainly can’t. He’s pretty good at his job.
Everyone with two eyes knew that if you hamstring the police, the crime rate spikes. If you weren’t sure, there have been some police strikes over the decades. If you warn the criminals their crimes won’t count, all of a sudden you get a release of pent-up demand for crime. This is not topological set theory in nine dimensions, this is child’s play.
Even if you had only one functioning eye, the predictions were all borne out in Ferguson, which is why it’s called the Ferguson effect.
You would literally have to have senile dementia, not-even-joking Alzheimer’s, to not know BLM would gets tons of blacks killed, after Ferguson.
Oh, they were getting them killed on purpose. Duh. This is why they were so insensitive to evidence: you can’t wake up someone who is pretending to be asleep. They knew damn fine, they are just malevolent.
Are terrorized Bantu politically useful? You betcha they are. The DNC prospers to the extent Bantu-Americans do not. Conquest #3. The more “grievances” they have to address, the bigger the budget they can justify. E.g. gender too: can you imagine trying to fight off a repeal of title IX if male and female employment rates equalized?
Defunding the police would actually get fewer Bantu killed. Not to mention Europeans. This is why all the tentative measures toward defunding the police were reversed. How can you sustain anarcho-tyranny without a big, manly police force? You can’t. Despite their best efforts, local community leaders keep arising, and someone needs to stop them from organizing their own crime suppression.
Unfortunately, this means they’re also implementing anarcho-tyranny intentionally. They know what constitutes a threat to their goals, and work very effectively to stymie these threats.
Is anarcho-tyranny politically useful? You betcha. Criminals vote left. The more criminals, the more legitimate the Biden &c regime looks. Have to discourage productive work as much as possible and encourage as much crime as possible.
Plus, if everyone’s a criminal, you can put away anyone who looks at you funny or dunks you on twitter. It’s real hard to jail someone who hasn’t broken any laws, so it’s best to get everyone into lawbreaking.
As long as you assume they hold unlimited malice, all their behaviour makes perfect sense.
Did anyone else notice that Trump’s banning from twitter was almost perfectly timed? Could you have done better? Can’t do it on day 1, that’s too obvious. Iterate from there…
This is, of course, bog-standard Byzantine politics. Welcome to your decaying late Empire. Enjoy the smell of death!

And correspondingly, everyone’s homicide deaths went up precipitously, except Asians, and of course most murder, is and always has been intra-racial. So what’s the point, Spics and Honkees were killing each other because of George Floyd?

The nature of our society is that we have pendulum swings from overly liberal application of criminal justice to overly harsh (Biden’s “lock ’em up and throw away the key” rhetoric from a couple of decades ago). Each time the pendulum swings too far in one direction there is a public reaction that pushes it back in the other direction. The pendulum has reached the far left limit of its current swing and the reaction against overly liberal justice has already begun. It will take some time though to actually move things back to the center and in the meantime there will be a lot of innocent victims.
I'm not quite as sanguine about the prospect of reform. Most reform in the past was the result of more criminal justice oriented mayors taking power in urban America. Giuliani, Daley, Riordan, Williams etc. The middle class ethnic voters who put those mayors/administrations in power no longer have the demographic heft in urban areas to make that happen. You will note that those polities that had already lost that middle class demographic, such as Detroit, did not undergo the urban renaissance that swept through most of America's large cities 20-30 years ago.
I remember a commenter noting a while back - I think it was you actually? - that what we think of as a pendulum swinging back and forth, may well be actually circling the drain. In other words we are not swinging from better to worse to better but moving inexorably down towards doom.Replies: @Thea, @Jack D
I regularly hear the media refer to the latest “senseless shooting” or “senseless murder.” So my question is, do federal agencies break these out vs. “comparatively sensible” or “eminently reasonable” incidents?
(From what I gather on Mannix, white people understandably tend to murder their spouse or business partner, rather than spraying gunfire into a disco or bbq party — but who’s to say what is senseless, you know?)

Detroit was a one industry town and when the Japanese took the juice out of being an American car maker the handwriting was on the wall for Detroit (which BTW in 1960 had the highest per capita income of any US city).
NY is somewhat dependent on the financial industry and if that industry left town it would indeed be a big blow but I don't think it will completely leave. In addition, NY has other strong segments in addition to finance. It's much more diversified than Detroit (and much less black).
There are certainly some disturbing trends with the overall stupidification of the society and especially of elite discourse which seems increasingly detached from reality, but reality has a way of catching up with you if your discourse drifts too far into la la land.

I think Pat Buchanan said for the last 50 years the left pushes America leftward and the conservatives just try to conserve whatever yard line we are currently at.
For example, Feminism is now a Republican cause, accepted as common sense and inherently American, while in the 1960s they were still pushing somewhat against it.

I agree that there is such a thing as a tipping point for a city (indeed for a whole society). One might have thought that NY had reached its tipping point say during the Dinkins Administration (the last black mayor of NY) , but then it had a big comeback so one would have been wrong.

Did any of you people actually read the article you’re crowing about? Oh, wait… you’re anti-vaxxers… never mind. In any case, if you had read the article, you might have learned that the restrictions in question were only introduced in December to ward off against omicron. I have no doubt that Johnson is always keeping an eye on the poll numbers, and that affects every single decision he makes, but now that omicron has peaked and is coming down (and was thankfully weak in terms of lethality), these latest restrictions have now been lifted
(I added in that last part for your benefit). If you want Biden to try that same trick, you can always try and match the UK’s vaccination rates, though we’ve got a ways to go on that. The cause pointed to by the symptom of black homicide is the abdication or treason by law school graduates to their duty. This abdication increases black homicide but also increases spillover murders such as the stabbings of beautiful young women in New York who had told people they felt unsafe. Maybe your disdain for black people could be usefully redirected at law school graduates for the eventual effect of the general safety of beautiful young women.

Frankly, those were visuals I didn’t need either, and unlike you guys, I wouldn’t have bothered to come up with them myself, but that’s what I get for reading up on the kind of stuff your crowd is openly endorsing. Talk about staring into the abyss. In that sense, I can understand why rectal suppository humor is right up your alley, so to speak.
One of these days, and it may come sooner than the establishment wants to admit, vaccines may indeed backfire big time, and the Amish will indeed have the last laugh. I don’t find that a far-fetched scenario at all. That’s how it generally goes with most any grand governmental scheme. Maybe ADE, maybe some adjuvenant-related contamination, maybe something having to do with the hygiene hypothesis, who knows? But even if that does happen, it’s fairly apparent by now that the just-a-flu losers will find some other way to lose the plot and keep on dying faster than the rest of us.
What exactly is the owner supposed to do? Gun rights are limited, and even if they weren’t he’d risk being thrown in prison for using force. Criminals are let out almost immediately after arrest, and would come back to burn his business down.
The problem isn’t the business owner–the problem is a legal system and a government that won’t protect its citizens/subjects but also won’t allow them to protect themselves.
The problem is the overall numbers are trivial. This is not “culling the herd” and blacks genetics are not going to turn around and start becoming smarter and more cooperative.
The whole “progressive” approach to criminal justice is a complete miss–basically misses the point of what criminal justice is supposed to be about. (I.e. that productive normies have a right to live by their norms.)
But no nation has yet dealt seriously with the need for eugenic policy to replace the natural culling that used to take place before the prosperity of modern industrial society and all its disruptions–clean water, vaccines, antibiotics, green revolution ag productivity, birth control, welfare, feminism…
One of the reasons that people have gotten so much fatter is that they’ve stopped smoking. Malia has inherited her dad’s smoking habit – this must help keep her thin.
Smoking reduces weight in at least 3 ways:
Nicotine speeds up your metabolism. Nicotine increases the amount of calories your body uses at rest by about 7% to 15%.
Cigarettes reduce appetite.
Cigarettes satisfy oral cravings that would otherwise be fulfilled with snacks.

Really, the point is that in a healthy society, crime — certainly serious crime — is an aberration. For example, up here in provincial Oregon (which is very far from being a healthy society even as it is) rape, murder, armed robbery, even burglary — such acts are all but unheard of. We seem to pretty much top out at bar fights and stuff left in the front yard overnight walking off by itself.
Anything more serious just doesn’t happen. Criminal justice is ultimately a band-aid. It’s an attempt to deal with a problem that shouldn’t be there in the first place.
Agree. The oscillation is more like a yo-yoer descending the stairs: each time the yo-yo comes back up, it is only reaching the bottom of the previous curve.
What’s at the bottom of the stairs? Something like Soviet Union 1991.

What I can’t figure out is why there’s this crusade in some quarters against vaping. Seems to me this has all the benefits of cigarettes without the minuses.
Dr Jordan Peterson explains how those ideologies come to be.
