From the Washington Post:

As Democrats call for his resignation, HUD Secretary Ben Carson defends his controversial comments about transgender people

By Tracy Jan, September 20, 2019 at 4:20 p.m. PDT

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson on Friday sent an agencywide email seeking to explain his controversial comments about transgender people during his recent visit to San Francisco.

Many Democrats called for Carson’s resignation after The Washington Post reported Thursday on the housing chief’s pattern of making dismissive remarks about transgender people, including expressing concern this week about “big, hairy men” trying to infiltrate women’s homeless shelters, lamenting that society no longer seemed to know the difference between men and women, and saying that no one group deserved “special rights.”

His remarks shocked and upset many of the roughly 50 HUD staffers who attended a Tuesday meeting in San Francisco and prompted at least one woman to walk out in protest, according to three people who were present. …

Trans types are holy shamans in 2019.

Joe Biden isn’t going to make that mistake:

If you can’t trust a convict to tell you the truth, who can you trust?

Although Joe appears to be working hard to articulate the gibberish his staff taught him without screwing it up and getting canceled.

Which prompts me to ask whether this “woman” was an actual female or a male posing as or operating under the delusion that he is female. The only other possibility I can conceive is that this is just another virtue-signalling prog female, hoping to score game points.

  2. concern this week about “big, hairy men” trying to infiltrate women’s homeless shelters

They’d be less hairy if transphobic depilationists didn’t turn them away.

These people don’t want to unperson Carson any less than Trump or any white man in his administration. If they think this is their shot at him they will take it. Carson may refuse to resign unless Trump asks him to, which I doubt he will. He doesn’t have anything to gain by resigning, it isn’t like he has a future political career in any case.

  16. I was at an event last weekend that attracted a lot of fringe types. I noticed the increasing trend of men wearing wigs, makeup, and dresses, but otherwise making it obvious they were not women. They exposed their big hairy arms and legs and often sported a five-o’clock shadow or beard. They tended to be big and overweight. Are they homosexuals sending some specific signal, as in the chart on traps Lot posted recently? They’re clearly not attempting to pass as women. One is tempted to assume it’s a gag or “épater la bourgeoisie” role playing.

Meanwhile, as our resident NOTICER hems and haws his way around TrannieGate, major news developments are unfolding.

An intelligence whistleblower informs a House committee about constitutional malfeasance regarding Trump’s $400 million donation of taxpayer money to the Ukraine, in light of Trump advisor Rudy Guliani admitting a desire to dig up dirt on Papa Biden’s son by way of that Baltic nation.

Of course, there is delicious irony–as President Trump tweets “collusion by the Democrats”, he refers to the claim (wait for it) that Clinton allegedly attempted to secretly request that Ukraine investigate her political rival.

It’s as you are channeling your inner NYT to refrain from delving into things that more politically relevant. Stay cagey, Mr. Sailer!

I have two words for this Times writer: Sarah Silverman.

“The bathroom is saturated with gender in fascinating ways,” said Mr. Haslam, a professor of psychology at the University of Melbourne, who noted that women’s aversion, particularly at work, is not entirely unfounded: One unpublished study he mentions in his book found that a woman who excused herself to go to the bathroom was evaluated more negatively than one who excused herself to tend to “paperwork” — while there was no difference in the way participants viewed the men.

  35. To the political mind, the important thing is rewards to constituencies.

Some constituencies, the new ones, tenuously held and sometimes recruited out of desperation to keep or get a majority coalition, are extravagantly rewarded. The reward is take from other constituencies, which are much less likely to leave the coalition.
In this case, women supposedly have no other coalition to defect to; their reward can be safely reduced. Transsexuals, however, could leave the coalition any time, and have to be heavily reassured and rewarded.

I am totally baffled by this — but as a Trump supporter I am also baffled that we are not investigating such blatant corruption, but are mentioning it in an aside to a hand-picked Goldman-Sachs satrap, like he’s really going to hit the ground running on this one. And baffled that the thoroughly insane newsmedia is reporting this like any part of it even rhymes with Trump doing something wrong. Then again, our congress was at least as beholden and worshipful of bagman Bill Browder as they were to Netanyahu, who was at least a master statesman and the leader of our “passionate attachment,” so I guess having a federal agency look into fishy top level overseas connections would be too much to ask.

Years ago I saw an interesting variation on this theme when my wife and I were visiting Ottawa and took a tour of government buildings.

The tour guide kept endlessly pandering to French Canadians (they did this, they did that) throughout the tour. This was at a time when Quebec kept holding referendums on secession. It just sounded like pathetic lies to these American ears.

Would a secession movement accomplish that in the US? Possible, I guess.

Better he work with the Russians than the Democrats. That would cause far less damage, and possibly do some good.

Benedict Arnold is held up as the iconic American traitor. But he didn’t betray his ethnic group, his legal tradition, his language, his religion, or even his country for that matter– his Loyalist wife was as American as he was.

This NYT article is such low-hanging fruit, I don’t even know where to begin. It took awhile to get through because I kept laughing, to the point of tears.

“Poop shame is real….women suffer from higher rates of IBS…… the patriarchy has seeped into women’s intestinal tracts. Let’s call it pootriarchy.”

Only much later in the article do they suggest that there ‘could be’ a biological reason for women’s relative difficulties, such as a longer colon. I’m embarrassed for the authors. Are they serious? The Grievance-Industrial Complex is really reaching now…..

  49. Corvinus says:
    @Marty T

“Lol at the “Constitution”. It’s a piece of paper. What matters is who has power and is willing to use it.”

So this “piece of paper” really does matter after all, because it empowers citizens who perceive to be wronged to redress their grievances, whether it be a man who thought his doctor ought to be held liable for his wife’s death during surgery or whether it be citizens organizing a white nationalist rally.

  50. Corvinus says:
    @Reg Cæsar

“A party that goes all out on #MeToo immediately after going all out to return a rapist to the White House…”

Trump was elected for the first time as President in 2016. He didn’t “return”. Moreover, it was a movement by Americans citizens, both left and right–including evangelicals–who went “all out” to expose Trump as a “rapist”.

“is far more damaging to true American interests”

Define “true American interests”. Furthermore, how is today’s Russia closer to your ideal America from the past? I know what I am asking you to do exceeds your cognitive ability, but muster up all of your intellectual power. You can do it!

“Detroit and Baltimore are not Democratic failures, they’re Democratic successes. What could Russia, or even Mexico, do that would be worse?”

Thanks for your non-sequitur and your red herring! As far as your boy toy Russia is concerned, Putin enjoys plundering the people there with his oligarchical regime, murdering dissenters (especially journalists), and curtailing free speech and freedom of religion. Other than those minor issues, Russia is paradise on Earth!

“than a faraway country whose main threat is occupying Wrangell Island.”

Russia has far more deeper ambitions. Praytell, are you a Russian toadie?

“Your attitude was once called “McCarthyism”.

Not quite. The investigations into Trump, over 2 dozen of them, are predicated upon actual evidence, not hearsay. No soup for you!

FYI, “Wow, just wow” is an Alt Right battle cry. You really should read the newsletter to catch up with the latest lingo.
