Watching the PGA tournament today, I notice nearly none of the ads glorify or normalize facediapers and assburger-distancing – instead nearly all ads show people behaving normal. You hit on something I’ve been formulating.

The above group of Americans needs to start reaching out to China, Russia, and the Muslims with our “own” foreign policy. We need a spokesman like Trump (but probably not Trump) who could meet with the leaders of these Governments and state explicitly that we appreciate their non-interference in our country and moral support and tolerance for our way of life. In return, we would pledge not to interfere in any way with their affairs. Essentially, we would tell China what you do in East Asia is your business, but we will resist all efforts by our Government to interfere and meddle in that part of the world. (US Troops and Navy out of East Asia.) Same with Russia (US out of NATO), same with Muslims (US out of the Middle East). We need to resist, protest, and foil every effort by our Government to have any presence over there. We may not endorse the domestic policies of China, Russia and the Middle East, and may even be philosophically opposed to them (as far as what type of society we want), but their domestic and regional policies are none of our business. We will no longer support US military and foreign policy, and actively oppose it as our right as American citizens. Russia, the Islamic world and China are our friends because they are not against our way of life. Can you imagine how this would drive the US Establishment crazy?

1) Is Biden’s announcement a new program, or a reiteration of the long-existing discriminatory practices of the Small Business Administration, which already discriminates in favor of all of those groups, including South Asians and Hasidic Jews?

Biden may be advocating more money for these programs, but the discrimination already exists, and has never been changed by presidents of either party (it was Reagan, iirc, who added Indians and Hasidic Jews to the preferences).

What’s shocking isn’t that we have such discrimination, but that Biden isn’t afraid to brag about it.

2) Another example of my suggestion to lie about your race or ethnicity when applying for things like this. Hell, now you can even claim to be a woman. I’ve never had to apply for an SBA loan, but I’d bet most of it isn’t face-to-face anymore. Lying should be easy.

3) Republicans should fight against putting any more money into the program until the discrimination stops. They won’t, but they should. A few more than usual might try to, if they learned anything from Trump.

4) All of this is just microscopic crumbs from the table. How much more money is Biden going to put into the program? Perhaps a few billion? Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, and Apple just showed they’re willing to work with Biden/Harris to silence the rights of their opponents. That’s in exchange for Biden & Co increasing the number of H-1B serfs and for Biden not doing anything to regulate their aggressively monopolistic practices. What is the combined market cap of those four companies – $4-6 trillion or so?

Biden will be pretending to help small businesses while doing everything and then some to strengthen FAANG’s vice grip on the American economy – not to mention our freedoms.

The Twitter feed is tremendously active, and covers far more territory than the original Wrigleyville/Lakeview. It also covers a lot of bond-court hearings and sentencing. There are also some non-crime posts and city photos. I think there are a few things it could do differently, and of course it can’t control the Twitter comments very well, but overall it is a huge help with civic/public safety issues in Chicago.

Puerto Rico was acquired by the US as a result of the Spanish American War. It wasn’t independent.

They have had periodic votes there but statehood has always been defeated by voters.

They are heavily subsidized by US taxpayers in various ways and have lower tax rates for some types of businesses, PR citizens also receive US Social Security, which they also pay in to.

I have no problem if the residents want to be a separate nation, but so far they don’t. There would be many complications and there seems to be no solid argument that this would economically help residents. Also their local government is notoriously corrupt (Democrat) and incompetent.

That list is very inclusive as it includes 70% of the population while only excluding 30%. I think that’s about the same ratio of included/excluded as the segregated South had in the 1940’s.

One big difference is that blacks in the Jim Crow era were permitted to build their own businesses to serve their own needs, an these businesses were not boycotted by the regnant power structure. Other banks would negotiate bank drafts from black banks, for instance.
