… I can’t help but feel like the difference between teen me and how teen Kavanaugh allegedly behaved, and indeed between me and the other accused #MeToo perpetrators, comes down to how our different genders are conditioned to approach anything of a sexual nature.
… For one, women seem just as keen to take certain kinds of risks, like disagreeing with their friends on an issue or attempting to sell a screenplay. It’s just that when surveys measure risk taking in terms of things like unprotected sex and motorcycles, women tend to demur, since those types of activities are either more dangerous for women (the unprotected sex) or less familiar to them (riding motorcycles).
In fact, when researchers measured risk using more stereotypically feminine risky behavior, such as “cooking an impressive but difficult meal for a dinner party,” women turned out to be just as, if not more, likely to take risks as men. “Maybe there isn’t anything so special about male risk taking, after all,” wrote the University of Melbourne professor Cordelia Fine in Nautilus.
Several prominent psychologists believe there are actually few psychological differences between men and women.

I know the junking will commence shortly, but I actually agree with this.
It’s as Nietzsche once said (not that the idea was original to him, but he put it rather pithily): The same emotions, the same basic psychological equipment, exists in both men and women, but the tempos are different. It is only necessary to stop patternizing what one classifies as a given type of behavior in order to see the truth of this. To take a related example, New Yorkers tend to be loud and boisterous, Midwesterners taciturn and more reserved. Does this mean that the former are really more “aggressive” than the latter? Only if one takes a completely superficial and fixated view of what constitutes aggression. The same exigencies of life, the same circumstances leading up to and resulting in aggression, exist for both groups. It’s just that they proceed according to different cues and actualize at different paces. The differences between the sexes, just like the differences between personalities types within the same sex, are not the result of gross psychological dissimilarities but of divergent accentuations.
This is because emotions are real. While it is often the case that we speak about emotions as if they were mere subjective phantoms within the mind, this is incorrect. The emotions—the passions, to use the elder terminology—are the natural physico-psychological responses of the human material when acted on by a force. Anger, for instance, just is the effect of a slight. Anger follows a slight as inevitably as water follows its course. One cannot decide whether or not to be angry, since the slight is something that comes upon one from without. The person thus acted upon has no choice in the matter. It is something received; it is a passion. If women are capable of being slighted (and no one can coherently suggest otherwise) then women, too, will experience anger. The difference consists in what impacts them in that manner, in what wounds or negates their specific nature. Men, women, children, animals can all be negated, but not in exactly the same way. The same is true for all the other passions.
But owning to this very fact, people tend to be rather one-dimensional in how they respond, and how they think others ought to respond, to a given stimulus. It’s as if we assumed that our own native language is the only one in which sense can be spoken in, and everyone else is only babbling. This leads to endless bitter misunderstandings and acrimonious disputes between men and women, just as it does between men of differing tempos. They resonate at different frequencies and cannot relate to each other. To really know a man, or a woman, consists in seeing beyond these surface features. But it is a point of view wherein one’s outlook is no longer determined by one’s own will, and there are few who ever attain it.

What I wonder is whether these civilizations also exhibited the phenomenon we see in our own dying civilization in which the leaders and cultural gatekeepers are becoming increasingly flat-out stupid. There are 200,000 psychologists in the U.S. alone. Several is a nonspecific quantifier, but in general you wouldn’t use it to specify more than a dozen or so. It’s not even relative to the overall pool: If there are a trillion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy and a million might support life, despite the vast gap between a trillion and a million, you can’t translate that to “Several stars in the Milky Way could support life.”

I do not see how a debate is necessary every time they again attempt to advance the method.
Debate is inevitable wheel-spinning (at best) as far as any competing interests are concerned, and will last until their outcome is realized.
In fact, any debate seems to eventually advance the progress of their desired outcome regardless of who feels they have won or lost in any particular period.
For one, it allows for their sockpuppets to appear to forever attempt to “win” any debate through any number of incomplete arguments or inconsequential technicalities.
It gives the illusion that there is a real debate instead of a war for survival, and that there is a measure of doubt as to whether or not there is a full refutation of their hyper-aggressive nation destroying tactics.
The sensible tactic seems to be to ignore them, and unapologetically advance our perspectives.
Short of kicking them out or an otherwise full-commitment segregation measure.
Though, as the history of Russia proves, the latter tactic is exceedingly dangerous in the long run. Maximum distance, ideally with a lot of water between, is preferable.

I read a experiment some university did a decade ago. In the experiment they injected the women with the same amount of Testosterone as a young man has. It drove the women nuts and they hated every minute of. They told the scientists they have no idea how men can function with all of that in them.

Even though I am a lawyer, I am still very uncomfortable around cloud people. I worked in a large corporate law firm for 5 years after law school and hated every second of it.
I now practice criminal law in a rural area in a redneck state and have no problem sitting in the attorney room of a jail with clients who have shot, stabbed, or beaten someone. But the thought of having to spend a significant amount of time around other attorneys sends shivers down my spine.
I dont think the purveyors of dumb ideas are necessarily stupid themselves. There is just a really big market for stupid articles that tell people that their biases are actually “science-based.”

Males can sometimes be aggressive, for example when the female is sitting on a nest, but no. The male and female are roughly the same size, with males a bit larger. Since they also have the same coloration, it can actually be hard to distinguish them.

I’ve ridden mares and geldings. There is no way at my skill level I would try to ride a stallion. Frankly, I’d hesitate to get into a stall to groom one. Sorry, Gender Theorists: those little chemicals do make a difference.

I wouldn’t chance it if I were you. I know someone who once tried to do that – her name was Chrissy. This happened many years ago. The stove wouldn’t light from the pilot and she couldn’t find any matches and this set off a long cascade that ended with her receiving medical attention. She remains traumatized to this day and fearful of egg salad sandwiches. She still eats them now and then, but only when tuna is not available. And she had to have TWO ranges in her kitchen as a result – a La Cornue and an AGA as backup. Her husband balked at the expense but she explained to him that this was a medical necessity for her as a result of the trauma from that long ago hard boiled egg incident.
It’s almost as if there might be some sort of, you know, behavioral disparity that renders motorcycle riding less likely to be part of the typical female experience….Maybe Kavanaugh and the Deplorables beat women with whips, when they try to mount motorbikes?

Here in Minnesota we learn to void flocks of geese walking around with their babies in the spring. I don’t whether guy or girl geese are more aggressive, but I once had to fend off a large bird flying at chest level when I stupidly tried to run past a gaggle of them. Rats with wings, I call them.
