From Twitter:

These Texans assaulting a NYC restaurant hostess over a vaccine requirement — Tyonnie Keshay Rankin, Kaeita Nkeenge Rankin and Sally Rechelle Lewis — sound like real Trump-voting redneck straight white males.

The original NYT version of the story begins:

Tourists Attack N.Y.C. Restaurant Hostess Over Vaccine Proof, Police Say

Enforcement of a city policy requiring proof of vaccination to dine indoors began Monday. Days later, a hostess at Carmine’s was assaulted after asking three women for their vaccine cards, the police said.

By Ashley Wong
Sept. 17, 2021, 11:57 a.m. ET

A hostess at an Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan was assaulted by three tourists from Texas after she asked to see their proof of vaccination on Thursday, the police said, four days after enforcement of the city’s vaccine mandate for indoor diners began.

The altercation occurred after a hostess at the restaurant, Carmine’s, asked the tourists to show her proof they were vaccinated against Covid-19 before entering for dinner, the police said. New York City requires people to prove they have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine before dining indoors.

The tourists, who were identified as Kaeita Nkeenge Rankin, 44, and Tyonnie Keshay Rankin, 21, of Humble, Texas, and Sally Rechelle Lewis, 49, of Houston, began to argue with the hostess over the requirement, the police said. It was not immediately clear if they displayed proof of vaccination.

As the argument escalated, the women began punching the hostess, who is 24, breaking her necklace during the assault. The hostess was left bruised and scratched up by the attack, the police said.

But by now the NYT’s sub-headline reads:

A lawyer for the tourists said their proof of vaccination had been questioned “unjustifiably” because they are Black and denied that they had tried to “forcefully violate” the requirement that they show it.

It’s about a group who happens to be black that was in violation of a mandate. Had there been no race component, iSteve doesn’t even NOTICE the story. Now, we do know through his caginess that he believes those who refuse to abide by the policy regardless of race are not considering the general welfare when they act that way. Essentially, he agrees they are selfish.

Now what? NYC will drop its restaurant vaccine requirement because of disparate impact.

Are they wrong? Isn’t it just possible that this proof of vaccination stuff is going to be used by urban whites as a way to exclude people whom they consider to be undesirable? They are not allowed to dislike people because they are black, but they are welcome – encouraged even (“our patience is wearing thing”) – to loathe and villify people because they haven’t received The Mark of Big Pharma.

Getting vaccinated is not a big hurdle. It's not like being black or stupid, over which you have no control. It's a condition that can be fixed in 15 minutes. Until then, no superspreaders allowed indoors, even if you are green or purple. Go somewhere else, to the antivaxxer restaurant.

Scare Marxist whites that if they ask about vaccine status they will be assaulted by angry black folks. Marxist whites can’t scream about rednecks or “ignorance” or anti-science without seeming racist, and then the Marxist whites get hurt because black people are violent and the police have been told to back off arresting blacks.

A bunch of blacks wilding around heavy-blue cities flaunting the vacc mandates and masks would pretty much either create a caste system visually or else Marxists will back off the mandates so as not to piss off blacks.

So get some angry blacks to flaunt the mandates and be aggressive when confronted and then video tape it and presto Marxist whites will do something rather than be Karens about it.

Word definitions and usage matter. If you're going to mouth off on the internet as much as you do, you shouldn't be confusing simple words like flout and flaunt. Or you should have the good grace to accept being corrected and hope not to embarrass yourself again.

If you and Mr Pincher get your way, we would have to stop correcting our kindergarten-age daughter who hasn't yet grasped the concept of irregular verbs. We should just allow her to continue saying catched, runned, eated, and the like.

Documents say she's around 3% Swedish and DNA tests suggest she may be 1-2% Finnish. Swedes are like many blacks in that they use the same verb form for all persons and numbers-- jag är, du är, han är, vi är..., "I be, you be, he be, we be..." Finnish has no irregular verbs at all, not even to be. None of this "am, was, were, been" nonsense.

When she makes a fool of herself at Girl Scout meetings, we'll just say we be going by Mr Camara and Mr Pincher on the Internet. And her Continental ancestry.

They are still enforcing vaccine mandates on legal immigrants while refusing to even ask illegals if they are vaccinated. In this particular case, it is hard to tell from the video, but I am guessing the hostess also identifies as a POC although she probably does not have the sacred status of black woman. I think the point here is to highlight how the story is being presented in the media rather than whether or not we're on the same side as these blacks. The story is being presented as a vehicle to frame white rednecks as ignorant dolts (some of them kind of are, but that's beside the point) who are to blame for the emergence of these new variants.

And of course once the "ignorant white redneck" narrative collapsed, the NYT shifts fire and begins peddling "muh racism" and "disparate impact" stories. We'll see two-tiered enforcement of proof-of-vaccine requirements - only whites will be expected to obey.

    Most of you are anti-vax.

You obviously don't spend much time here. A large fraction of people here, perhaps a majority, are "pro-vax"*. Many of them advocate coercive measures to promote vaccine uptake.

So I would think that you would be on the blacks’ side here.

Hey, I didn't say anything. When all of "elite, polite-society" is insulting and threatening people who choose not to get vaccinated (I put "elite, polite-society" in quotes as it includes, for example, Howard Stern, who is neither elite nor polite) or who oppose vaccine passes, I don't blame people for giving vent to their anger.

Even the senile old fraud who is currently playing the role of President in our national democracy pantomime went on TV and openly insulted/shamed/threatened about half the country. He may as well have announced a program to distribute machetes and grenades as well. I mean,..........as long as we're going to go full Hutu/Tutsi here.

*I don't even know what the terms "anti-vax" and "pro-vax" mean. I'm not opposed to people eating broccoli. I just don't think the government should cause you to lose your job because you refuse to eat it. Does that make me "anti-broccoli"?

This is an interesting point you raise because a rightwing, openly racist site like /pol/ giddily supports Schanikwa breaking Spaghetti-O Karen's necklace. The more moderate commentariat here disapproves. Why is that?

Black behavior and covid have both been weaponized by the left. Racism crazes come and go though. What's different about covid is that the right intrinsically values the concept of purity in a way that the left is incapable of understanding or sympathizing with. A right wing person is going to be far more hesitant about injecting an experimental mRNA vaccine into their body, even apart from the real risk/reward equation involved which is completely absent in public discourse. The left has ruthlessly exploited this fact to punish the right economically and socially. Mandates, job requirements, passports are therefore are an existential dagger pointed at the right. This is not about a virus anymore, and if they can force you to 'take the jab' and walk around with a passport, what can't they force you to do? The far right gets this, where as an HBD audience is locked onto the racial aspect only.

In rightwing, realpolitik terms, if Schanikwa wants to fight my battles for me, who am I to stop her? You may not like it but this is what the spirit of 1776 looks like. Lasagna girl is just lucky that she hasn't been tarred and feathered, yet. And beyond the politics, you'd have to be a man with no soul or sense of humor at all to not appreciate the total narrative trainwreck on display here.

Blacks will probably have to be exempt from vaccine passports in the future, but this will end up crashing the whole system. For once, blacks not obeying rules will actually be good for all.

In contrast, I hold with the growing consensus in Marxist studies that, at least since 1844 and possibly earlier, there was only one Marx, and that Marx, the "humanist," established the goal that he would seek for the remainder of his life: the apocalyptic triumph of revolutionary communism. In this view, Marx's exploration later into the economics of capitalism was merely a quest for the mechanism, the "law of history," that allegedly makes such a triumph inevitable.

I think the point here is to highlight how the story is being presented in the media rather than whether or not we’re on the same side as these blacks. The story is being presented as a vehicle to frame white rednecks as ignorant dolts (some of them kind of are, but that’s beside the point) who are to blame for the emergence of these new variants.

And of course once the “ignorant white redneck” narrative collapsed, the NYT shifts fire and begins peddling “muh racism” and “disparate impact” stories. We’ll see two-tiered enforcement of proof-of-vaccine requirements – only whites will be expected to obey.

  53. DeBlasio also recently tried to enforce his vaccine mandate at the UN. I believe they have turned him down, and there’s a good reason behind it: the vaccine mandate requires that the person be injected with one of three US-approved jabs. No real vaccine like SinoVax, made from deactivated viruses like the definition of vaccine used to call for. The UN is international territory; you cannot be charged sales tax on lunch there, for example.

First Cuomo shut down the businesses in March 2020, leading to a collapse in the “tidal” rush of suburban, largely white and middle class, commuters into the city. My guess is only 50% of those have returned; you can get a seat on subways most of the day. Now the worst mayor in my lifetime has essentially told the world’s tourists to stay the hell away, especially ones from countries using non-BigPharma vaccines.

This will leave behind only small businesses that can survive on residential business. Already about half the storefronts on fifth Avenue in the 30s are vacant. It will go to 90%.

Legal arguments bore me, but the property is within NY territory. It has a legalistic status, that big governments reserve for one another, that bars NY police from being able to execute a warrant to enter that cesspool, e.g. to arrest some arrogant, foreign diplomat accused of rape.

The Empire State legislature, at the behest of international socialist shnooks like Dewey, Truman, and JD Rockefeller Jr, almost certainly voted to approve that arrangement.

I'm sure there are many Gothamites who would prefer that property to be on the NYC tax rolls. Rockeller's donation of the land was yet another example of how rich guys make strategic "investments" (disguised as philanthropy) that unduly influence the government to pursue special interest [foreign!] policies.

(It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the US State Dept pays "impact fees" to NY due to that "hole" in its property tax map. Costs get socialized. In this instance, onto the backs of the 90%+ of Americans who don't live in NY.)

You'll just stay in your pod, eat fake food you don't even make yourself, and anesthetize yourself with Netflix, video-games, and weed. Until you die.

The NYP OTOH had a split cover showing the thousands of Haitians crossing the border and the Biden “righteous strike” killing 7 children with a Hellfire missile.

  88. As a Texan by blood because Pewitts were out in Texas from the original blood line of Thomas Prewitt of colonial Virginia who got to the colonies in the 1630s, I’ll say that maybe Paul Pewitt was a strong-minded and vicious land owner who screwed over some sharecroppers in Browntown, Texas, which is close by Omaha, Texas, and I have more of a blood right to say I’m Texan than that Mayflower baby boomer treasonite George W Bush.

And in one of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie series they used the surname Hewitt as the bloody-minded nutcakes when Gein was the name of the guy the original movie was based on. Hewitt is English and Irish and Scottish.

I hope most of the Blacks with the Pewitt surname are law-abiding people of reasonably decent disposition because plenty of White Pewitts have been knocking over booze stores and pulling other type stunts of that nature for a long time now.

And “yes” the waitresses would all still be enforcing a consequence-free decision of the royalty to make the lower classes enforce the marginalization of those not obeying the dictates of our betters. I thought Prinz v US ended that.

The 3 got arrested, which is the right thing to do with assault charges. [No details of the incident, even the cellphone video starts (?) mid-scuffle.] But it also needs to happen more often.

In summary, NYC’s plantation serfs are being forced to makes other serfs obey the master’s wishes, and the more sh*t blows up the better it is. IMO.

So I would think that you would be on the blacks’ side here.

Hey, I didn’t say anything. When all of “elite, polite-society” is insulting and threatening people who choose not to get vaccinated (I put “elite, polite-society” in quotes as it includes, for example, Howard Stern, who is neither elite nor polite) or who oppose vaccine passes, I don’t blame people for giving vent to their anger.

Even the senile old fraud who is currently playing the role of President in our national democracy pantomime went on TV and openly insulted/shamed/threatened about half the country. He may as well have announced a program to distribute machetes and grenades as well. I mean,……….as long as we’re going to go full Hutu/Tutsi here.

DeBlasio also recently tried to enforce his vaccine mandate at the UN. I believe they have turned him down, and there's a good reason behind it: the vaccine mandate requires that the person be injected with one of three US-approved jabs. No real vaccine like SinoVax, made from deactivated viruses like the definition of vaccine used to call for. The UN is international territory; you cannot be charged sales tax on lunch there, for example.

First Cuomo shut down the businesses in March 2020, leading to a collapse in the "tidal" rush of suburban, largely white and middle class, commuters into the city. My guess is only 50% of those have returned; you can get a seat on subways most of the day. Now the worst mayor in my lifetime has essentially told the world's tourists to stay the hell away, especially ones from countries using non-BigPharma vaccines.

This will leave behind only small businesses that can survive on residential business. Already about half the storefronts on fifth Avenue in the 30s are vacant. It will go to 90%.

    Replies: @HammerJack, @Abolish_public_education

Although I’m inclined to agree, I also notice that residential real estate has rebounded in NYC–particularly at the higher levels. So a lot of the “smart” money may be betting the other way. Commercial r.e. would likely follow, though that is an inversion of the normal sequence.

    • Replies: @TomSchmidt
    @HammerJack

Detroit had a small reprise from decline from 1970-73 under its last white mayor who tried to crack down on crime. Then Coleman Young took over, shut down the crime-stopping unit, and the resulting white flight cinched his electoral lock on the city for dozens of years.

Unless the office workers return (and they mostly haven't, for a number of reasons) the value of property will drop and with it the taxes the city uses to pay off poor people and support the services, like police, that make Manhattan a worthy place for suburban whites to work in. I do hope you're right and commercial comes back, but the gutting of office work, and it's concomitant effect on small business, might have kicked off a catabolic collapse. Office workers don't want to go work in a city with no services nearby for them to safely walk to, and the services cannot survive now without the former load of office workers.

Penalizing the tourists is literally the worst thing you could do in this situation. If the new mayor doesn't end this policy, the city collapses. Maybe only to 4 million, not 1/3rd, but collapse it will.

  112. Very quickly, blacks and other sacred groups (gays, trannies etc) will be exempt from Vaccine Passports, and other restrictions. While the US makes war on White men.

At the same time, US troops are headed to Australia to defend against Chinese attack. And likely, help enforce the lockdown orders in that country.

There is a lot of ruin in a nation. But even that is limited at some point. A Cold War with China while a hot one against White men proceeds in the US is not sustainable. At the very least, China can and will stir things up by providing money, support etc. to blacks demanding total supremacy and abusive rule over Whites. While also providing money, support etc. to Whites resisting that. Thus we are likely to see an acceleration if anything in abusive privileges for blacks and abusive restrictions on Whites. Remember Gen Woke Milley says China is not an enemy.

An "antivaxxer", or more precisely, "don't care" restaurant seems like a good approach. I.e. private business choice.

I've had the vax--and a good reaction to it--and will probably get another shot when we get a bit closer to peak flu season. (Moderna this time.) I don't have any big health issues and am only 5-10 lbs overweight. But ... you never know and I want to keep harassing my kids for another couple decades.

But, while there's huge benefit on hospitalization/death, with Delta being vaxxed isn't exactly stopping anyone from spreading the bug. So it really is much more of a *personal* deal, with much less "public health" benefit (than for a vax that actually stops infection quickly).

And even more annoying is this insistence on vax rather than "antibodies". Both my son, and my prospective son-in-law have already had the Xi-Fauci infection, which is much, much better protection than any of the vaxes. (Basically no one--so far--is taking a double dip.) And they are young men for whom the vax risk is greatest. From any rational medical perspective it is unwise for them to get vaxed. But no. It's "show us your papers".

I’m sure there are many Gothamites who would prefer that property to be on the NYC tax rolls. Rockeller’s donation of the land was yet another example of how rich guys make strategic “investments” (disguised as philanthropy) that unduly influence the government to pursue special interest [foreign!] policies.

(It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the US State Dept pays “impact fees” to NY due to that “hole” in its property tax map. Costs get socialized. In this instance, onto the backs of the 90%+ of Americans who don’t live in NY.)

Nothing has filled their hearts with greater joy than seeing the pusillanimous Aussies react to the Wuhan/Fauci virus, except for the African reaction (read up on that if you don't know what I am talking about ....). As for the Viet Cong and the Filipinos, the Chinese only mess with unpopulated rocks off the coast. They don't mess with people in the Middle East, and they have bought up lots and lots of Western Canadian real estate, and they make nice with those people.

Clearly the vaccinated are spreading the virus, thus getting vaccinated does not stop the spread of coronavirus. Which is why 3 times as many Americans were hospitalized in August 2021 compared to August 2020.

    September 14, 2020
    US CV deaths - 684
    Hospitalized - 24,784
    Vaccinated- 0

    September 14, 2021
    US CV Deaths - 2,653
    Hospitalized - 97,245
    Vaccinated - 211,621,129

Those over the age of 55 should probably get vaccinated to protect themselves. 82% of Americans over the age of 45 are already vaccinated. mandating 25 year-olds to get vaccinated is not going to stop the spread of coronavirus. Mandating the 120 million Americans who have recovered from CV cannot be justified by the science and will not reduce infections. Why are they promoting vaccinations for teens and those with natural immunity ? To eliminate any control group ? To make the vaccines appear more effective?

In contrast, I hold with the growing consensus in Marxist studies that, at least since 1844 and possibly earlier, there was only one Marx, and that Marx, the “humanist,” established the goal that he would seek for the remainder of his life: the apocalyptic triumph of revolutionary communism. In this view, Marx’s exploration later into the economics of capitalism was merely a quest for the mechanism, the “law of history,” that allegedly makes such a triumph inevitable.

Nothing has filled their hearts with greater joy than seeing the pusillanimous Aussies react to the Wuhan/Fauci virus, except for the African reaction (read up on that if you don’t know what I am talking about ….). As for the Viet Cong and the Filipinos, the Chinese only mess with unpopulated rocks off the coast. They don’t mess with people in the Middle East, and they have bought up lots and lots of Western Canadian real estate, and they make nice with those people.

Getting vaccinated is not a big hurdle. It’s not like being black or stupid, over which you have no control. It’s a condition that can be fixed in 15 minutes. Until then, no superspreaders allowed indoors, even if you are green or purple. Go somewhere else, to the antivaxxer restaurant.

    Replies: @Jack D, @Hernan Pizzaro del Blanco

Clearly the vaccinated are spreading the virus, thus getting vaccinated does not stop the spread of coronavirus. Which is why 3 times as many Americans were hospitalized in August 2021 compared to August 2020.

    September 14, 2020
    US CV deaths – 684
    Hospitalized – 24,784
    Vaccinated- 0

    September 14, 2021
    US CV Deaths – 2,653
    Hospitalized – 97,245
    Vaccinated – 211,621,129

Those over the age of 55 should probably get vaccinated to protect themselves. 82% of Americans over the age of 45 are already vaccinated. mandating 25 year-olds to get vaccinated is not going to stop the spread of coronavirus. Mandating the 120 million Americans who have recovered from CV cannot be justified by the science and will not reduce infections. Why are they promoting vaccinations for teens and those with natural immunity ? To eliminate any control group ? To make the vaccines appear more effective?

Don't listen to the rabid anti-vaxxers who just assume that everyone who takes the vaccine will get a blood clot - this is a very rare side effect and is mainly associated with the Astra-Zeneca vaccine which isn't even given in the US.

Don’t disagree, over some age or another.

But my point was … my son and son-in-law-to-be have already had Xi-Fauci. And that’s way, way better protection than the vax:

Both my son, and my prospective son-in-law have already had the Xi-Fauci infection, which is much, much better protection than any of the vaxes. (Basically no one–so far–is taking a double dip.) And they are young men for whom the vax risk is greatest.

A “have antibodies” card, should be everything a vax card is–and more. It’s better. The vaxed are spreading the bug–though certainly somewhat less than the unvaxed. The already-had-its aren’t spreading it at all. (Or something trivially close to zero.)

And we’re talking about probably now 100m+ people. But TPTB have made no effort to acknowledge that or provide a “antibodies card” option. It’s vax, vax, vax.

Israeli studies show that having been infected is (if you survive) 13x better protection against reinfection than having been vaxxed, but having been infected PLUS getting one shot of the vax is better still.

But you're right, what we really need is proof of antibodies, not proof of vaccination. Moderna seems to hold up but Pfizer seems to fade after a while so that Pfizer card becomes increasingly less proof of anything over time.

But our ability to measure anything (even any decent system of vaccine registration) in this country is increasingly impossible as the government bureaucracy becomes brownified and idiocratized. Those stupid paper vaccine cards, filled in by hand and without even so much as an official seal, would have been inadequate in 1920 let alone 2020 when any 9th grader can run them off on his computer.

That prescriptionist baloney is baloney. It's been discredited. What is proper is determined by usage, generally by however the most powerful group in a region speaks.

Sure, people should be able to speak the standard language of an area in order to present themselves well. But you have no idea what will be considered proper in 100 years. Language is always changing.

Although I'm inclined to agree, I also notice that residential real estate has rebounded in NYC--particularly at the higher levels. So a lot of the "smart" money may be betting the other way. Commercial r.e. would likely follow, though that is an inversion of the normal sequence.

    Replies: @TomSchmidt

Detroit had a small reprise from decline from 1970-73 under its last white mayor who tried to crack down on crime. Then Coleman Young took over, shut down the crime-stopping unit, and the resulting white flight cinched his electoral lock on the city for dozens of years.

Unless the office workers return (and they mostly haven’t, for a number of reasons) the value of property will drop and with it the taxes the city uses to pay off poor people and support the services, like police, that make Manhattan a worthy place for suburban whites to work in. I do hope you’re right and commercial comes back, but the gutting of office work, and it’s concomitant effect on small business, might have kicked off a catabolic collapse. Office workers don’t want to go work in a city with no services nearby for them to safely walk to, and the services cannot survive now without the former load of office workers.

Penalizing the tourists is literally the worst thing you could do in this situation. If the new mayor doesn’t end this policy, the city collapses. Maybe only to 4 million, not 1/3rd, but collapse it will.

Utter bullshit and conflating of issues larded with much wording.

If you are "rightwing" you will appreciate Schanikwa not behaving like a cage animal.

The more so because she's not resisting mandates, she is fighting for her God-given right to be Queen of Sheeba and do as she pleases. If the roles were reversed and customer Karen would say to the black waitress that "I won't wear a mask" you would see what happens. Transport to a re-education camp with mandatory rape will be on the books soon.

Why would I care? I want anyone enforcing the mandate to suffer. I want it to be an unenforceable law. Why would I do anything other than laugh when BLM and vax mandates collide? You think because I’m rightwing that I have to keep my enemies from attacking each other, because we just don’t want people behaving like cage animals? Not my problem. The rest of what you wrote about “Queen of Sheba” , “mandatory rape”, “re-education camp” is just fan fiction. You don’t know what happened beyond the news reports which are that it was a confrontation over mandates. You’re vaxxed btw, aren’t you?

    @obwandiyag
