  1. Oh and this too :

  2. I now know what to do if the air is plastic. However, sometimes the air is plasma. I read plasma from people infected by the virus is useful for treating others. Which means the virus thrives in plasma. And since plasma is very hot, the virus must be destroyed by temperatures below absolute zero, which means you must definitely avoid infrared sunlight at all costs and generate ultraviolet negative heat by locking yourself inside your fridge, just like Javier Bardem did in “The Joker” but while dressed so that your immune system doesn’t switch on and you die by kinectic storm.

    Sound advice, Mr. Line.

I got the list in an email nearly two weeks ago... Video performance highlights the inanity.

    1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can.
    2. Masks are useless, but maybe you should wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well.
    3. Stores are closed, except those that are open.
    4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. The same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick.
    5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster.
    6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help.
    7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but if it's important then GO OUT.
    8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes.
    9. The virus has no effect on children except those it affects.

    10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there…
    11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms.
    12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand and it's better not to go out, well, but no…
    13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you get looked at very wrong when you get some fresh air, and most importantly, you don't go to parks or walk. But don’t sit down, except that you can do that now if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant (but not too old).
    14. You can't go to retirement homes, but you have to take care of the elderly and bring food and medication.
    15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy.
    16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to have your groceries decontaminated outside for 3 hours. Pizza too?
    17. Every disturbing article or disturbing interview must start with " I don't want to trigger panic, but…"
    18. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but you can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver.
    19. You can walk around with a friend but not with your family if they don't live under the same roof.
    20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at a safe social distance.
    21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily.
    22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room. In one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe.
    23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of.
    24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).
    25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?

  5. Now I am reading that the virus can be transmitted via the fecal oral route. Doesn’t seem like a big source of contagions from all the studies I’ve read though.

    Unless
    1) Contact tracing studies are only being in areas with a lot of deaths (Wuhan, Italy, Germany, UK, USA, Canada, Sweden)
    2) The virus is less lethal via the fecal-oral route. Countries like India, Nigeria, and Mexico, with less developed sanitation systems, may have had many infections, but no deaths, as the virus is worst when it attacks your lungs. Maybe ingesting via food or poorly purified water is actually helping people.

The top ten countries for total deaths are all places where I would drink the tap-water and trust the staff at a restaurant to wash their hands.

India isn’t tracing how its people become infected, because when Indians are being infected, they’re asymptomatic and thus below the radar.

Maybe this is why India, dspite bordering China, seems to be successfully dodging the crises.

    This is very old news.

Other than what should be an obvious(!) recommendation, it has also been recommended that you close the lid of the toilet before flushing as it has been demonstrated that flushing can aerosolize the virii into the air due to what is known as a “toilet plume”

Presumably this is only necessary if one is sick.

I was tempted to leave out that last sentence just to get all the CoronaPanickers going through such a ritual every time they drop a turd. But nah, I’m a nice guy.

India borders the rather thinly populated region of Tibet, and these stand on India's border with China. It's not like there's much scope for person to person contact.

    OT II:

Running the worker relief program through the Small Business Administration and the banks was a giant mistake. The theory of keeping workers attached to their employers sounded good in practice, but the IRS is really the only organization that has the heft and skill to pull it off. Working out COBRA for 20 million new unemployed people is hard though.

Today I learned that you cannot ask google how much larger a virus is than the aromatic molecules in our farts and get the answer. But this disappointment did provide me with the inspiration for conducting an experiment which I will be able to perform in a few hours as I just ate a plate of boiled cabbage. First fart naked and time the arrival of the aromatic molecules at your smelling aparatus. Second, cover your asshole with masking material, fart, and time the arrival of the aromatic molecules at your smelling apparatus.

Some fraction of the molecules (I am going to make a wild ass guess here and say .1%) will chemically bind to the masking material or mechanically fix to the masking material. More math: the virus particles are in the 100 nanometer range and the aromatic molecules are in the 1 nanometer range so at least 2X to 5X (OK make it 10X) of the virus particles will chemically bond or mechanically fix to the masking material, making the mask approximately 1/100 better for containing the particles than doing nothing.

Whether this makes it worth doing is up to you unless you live in my county where the grocery stores claim they have been ordered by the government to refuse doing business with unmasked people.

  7. And don’t take Hydroxychloroquine with Zinc, because a study indicated that taking it without Zinc might do more harm than good. In fact, don’t take Hydroxychloriquine at all if you have Covid-19, at least not until you’re almost dead, when it has the least chance of helping you live.

    • Replies: @anon
In that case you can take Remdesivir which is expensive, unavailable and does not work. When that fails you can expose your body to UV light or Powerful Light either from inside or outside and you may also inject disinfectants to clean the lungs that may or may not work. But what have you got to lose? After that you can apply a nicotine patch that may or may not work. Then inject plasma from a previous patient which may work or not. It may also give you Covid because the infection sometimes comes back. But again, what have you got to lose by now?
  8. So, when you treat a run-of-the-mill single strand RNA virus as if it were The Great Death, you run into contradictions? Who’d a thunk it.

Apparently, this was a chance to relive the glories of WWII. Be like grandpappy astormin’ the beaches of Normandy. He died two or three times before finally taking out them jerries. Saved the world so you can babysit your mulatto grandchild. Or something.

But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe.

    23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of

Ugh, the IRS has completely fubared the stimulus check distribution for a lot of people, myself included. Apparently, if you are self-employed or semi-retired and actually file on time and get no refund, the IRS system does not like you. What is worse - there is no way to reach a human at IRS, they come to you when they need to hassle you, not the other way around. There is a big reddit thread on this. I do not need the check that much, but I still am getting pretty pissed off. I can only imagine the frustration of folks who need the checks to survive.

Now I am reading that the virus can be transmitted via the fecal oral route. Doesn't seem like a big source of contagions from all the studies I've read though.

India isn't tracing how its people become infected, because when Indians are being infected, they're asymptomatic and thus below the radar.

Maybe this is why India, dspite bordering China, seems to be successfully dodging the crises.

India borders the rather thinly populated region of Tibet, and these stand on India’s border with China. It’s not like there’s much scope for person to person contact.

And don't take Hydroxychloroquine with Zinc, because a study indicated that taking it without Zinc might do more harm than good. In fact, don't take Hydroxychloriquine at all if you have Covid-19, at least not until you're almost dead, when it has the least chance of helping you live.

    • Replies: @JimDandy
Right. And if your doctor prescribes a hydroxychloriquine-combo because it has saved the lives of some patients and hasn't killed any do not take it because some guy in AZ died when he ate his aquarium cleaner and because it's more fun to focus on meaningless "gotchya" mantras than to actually prevent deaths but we must also prevent any deaths rather than prevent the economy from collapsing.

This is astonishing though: "You should avoid close contact — including sex — with anyone outside your household. If you do have sex with others, have as few partners as possible." And "[h]aving close contact — including sex— with only a small circle of people helps prevent spreading COVID-19."

The whole pamphlet is a guide to having "safe" sex with multiple partners (but just a "few") during this COVID-19 pandemic.

So NYC will arrest parents for letting their innocent uninfected children play in the local playground - because we are supposedly in a global pandemic - but it won't tell homosexuals to stop having promiscuous sex.

I now know what to do if the air is plastic. However, sometimes the air is plasma. I read plasma from people infected by the virus is useful for treating others. Which means the virus thrives in plasma. And since plasma is very hot, the virus must be destroyed by temperatures below absolute zero, which means you must definitely avoid infrared sunlight at all costs and generate ultraviolet negative heat by locking yourself inside your fridge, just like Javier Bardem did in "The Joker'' but while dressed so that your immune system doesn't switch on and you die by kinectic storm.

Finally, someone has thought this through.
    Sound advice, Mr. Line.

  33. Funny stuff but it all just shows how this virus is a cunningly designed psychological weapon — anyone can seem fine but still be giving it to you; you can seem fine but already be spreading and dying. Yes it can kill, but it’s more likely to isolate, frighten and depress. The masks while helpful serve as the requisite prop, the visual reminder of fear and submission.

Oh well. In the meantime …

Ugh. Did you have to post this before I ate my breakfast?

This is astonishing though: “You should avoid close contact — including sex — with anyone outside your household. If you do have sex with others, have as few partners as possible.” And “[h]aving close contact — including sex— with only a small circle of people helps prevent spreading COVID-19.”

The whole pamphlet is a guide to having “safe” sex with multiple partners (but just a “few”) during this COVID-19 pandemic.

So NYC will arrest parents for letting their innocent uninfected children play in the local playground – because we are supposedly in a global pandemic – but it won’t tell homosexuals to stop having promiscuous sex.

The Rules as of today: 😷😅

    1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can.

    2. Masks are useless, but maybe you have to wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well.

    3. Stores are closed, except those that are open.

    4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. Same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick.

    5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster.

    6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help.

    7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but it's important to GO OUT.

Oh, my..

    20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance.

    21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily.

    22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed.

    24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).

    25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?

    ROTFLMAO!!!!

  42. Alright. Seriously speaking, Stump is right about some of the contradictions. But others are not really contradictions because the contradictor is an idiot or a shill or an astroturfist.

Masks for instance. N95s work. Period. No contradiction. The other masks, on the other hand, are not meant to protect you. They are meant to protect others if you cough or sneeze. The other masks are meant to obstruct the expulsiveness of your cough or sneeze, blocking it so that it travels less far than an unblocked cough or sneeze, and so less of it altogether travels out in front of you. And anyhow, their use is stochastic, as Taleb would say. They may not save individuals, but used assiduously by millions they definitely will make a statistically significant difference. Meaning, to be precise, less people will die or, and this or is important, because everybody misses this in blabbering their useless opinions on the virulence of the disease, end up with permanent nasty nasty internal damage (damage that flu does not cause, you idiot “it’s just the flu-ers”).

  43. @Bobbocio
Now I am reading that the virus can be transmitted via the fecal oral route. Doesn't seem like a big source of contagions from all the studies I've read though.

India isn't tracing how its people become infected, because when Indians are being infected, they're asymptomatic and thus below the radar.

Maybe this is why India, dspite bordering China, seems to be successfully dodging the crises.

We call that route “The Tiny Duck Date Night” route.

  44. @anon

Right. And if your doctor prescribes a hydroxychloriquine-combo because it has saved the lives of some patients and hasn’t killed any do not take it because some guy in AZ died when he ate his aquarium cleaner and because it’s more fun to focus on meaningless “gotchya” mantras than to actually prevent deaths but we must also prevent any deaths rather than prevent the economy from collapsing.

    24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).

    25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?

Distilled to one sentence: Nobody knows what the f**k to do!

I would watch more of Adley, but she's on Facebook. Facebook is on my list of no-gos, along with New York Times. Actually, along with most social media and news media. The Coronavirus is pushing me over the edge. I am hating more and more. Once I give up YouTube, there will be no more reason for me to have internet, and it's back to books. If I had married the girl, we'd have a ranch in rural USA disconnected from the world. Instead, I'm in one of the most densely populated places on earth and spend all my time online.

    Marry the right girl!!

This story needs to be shared.

  57. For a reasonably attractive blonde woman, she does seem to have a grasp of reality. Such as it is.

    Are those cowpats or human-pats?

    Shoes.
What it’s all about, I have no idea.
In totally unrelated Indian news, a Jat driving a refrigerated truck has crossed 3 lanes of traffic to run over 4 police who were standing on the road after a speeding Porsche was stopped in Melbourne [Australia].
3 days of media hysteria has followed, the Porsche guy is now Australia’s Most Hated Person plus locked up in jail, the truck driver was whisked from the scene to hospital and could be in the clear.
