  1. Is that one of those dominatrix collars?

Is this video some kind of parody? Wearing clothes so cheap that smoke from a nearby cig might set them alight. Dressed as a dominatrix who is about to administer electrodes to any white nationalist who fails to pronounce the word ‘paleolibertarian’. Uttering a monologue befitting a miserable hectoring bore endlessly talking about herself. And, oh my, that hair! Is it a wig? Or does the old lady never set foot in a decent hair salon?
The ‘incels’ – involuntary celibates which most white nationalists are, meaning they are so inadequate they cannot get dates, would no doubt salivate over the sight of an exotic foreign woman speaking in a funny accent. I thought Seattle, where the old lady claims to live in, is a sophisticated town where the women are generally fashionably dressed. Perhaps the old lady has aspirations to be a lady of the night? Maybe not.

  3. Thanks, ilana, for this lovely restatement of your beliefs and principles. I remember the late Charley Reese, an irascible & idiosyncratic right wing columnist, used to devote one column a year to reminding people where he stood. Everyone should be so honest.

You are someone who insists on a precise usage of the English language, and I was happy that you defined your terms so well. No one will ever mistake the paleolibertarianism that you espouse with the lite libertarian Cato porn-and-pot pushers. I hope everyone noticed your casual allusion to the Anti-Federalists. I’ve read you for a long time, so I’m used to your elevated learning. At this stage, few native born Americans have heard of the Federalist Papers. Far fewer know that for every Federalist argument there’s an Anti-Federalist counter argument. When you comment on the American scene, your readers can rest assured that you know more about that scene than all but a few native-born Americans.

FWIW, you look and sound great. And your Mother really did do a great job.

Wow. Boorish and without manners; bitchy and ageist.

Each to his own. The top is by designer Jonathan Simkhai, purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue. Cheap it is most certainly not. I rather like it. It is different (“different” makes little men run for cover). My hair stylist is very good, too, although, admittedly, I piled it up. And yes, the segment, for once, was meant to introduce a person, just for a change.

Now, fuck off, you pathetic puritan. (Your syntax is atrocious.)

  5. @Ian “Red” Rivers

Thank you for your kind words—and for noticing the allusion to some of my favorite political theorists, the Anti-Federalists.

I send you my column about them: “Anti-Federalists Prophesied The End Of Freedom”:

    Take care,

  6. @Bose

“Fashionably dressed”,”sophisticated” and obviously overpaid. Didn’t you notice
all the books…she’s really smart as well? What else could she possibly be?Equality?

Would you expect her to actually work in a menial job?Frazier Crane move over.

Why didn’t the Founding Fathers say “all people” instead of “all men”?A co\$tly error?

They’ve got to do, something. At least acting an ego creates diversity, our strength…?

    You mean this, Greta?

    Yes, Little Men abound.

The way the wee-men address ladies, young and old, says it all.

Thanks, but I was referring to the version published here at The Unz Review. Although some later went missing, it still has some interesting comments, including yours.

  10. @ILANA Mercer

For my part, tired as I was the day I clicked on to your video, it was the clothes AND the hair that fit so well together that probably gave me the energy to listen to the message. In fact, it was the kind of stuff my ex used to do to get me energized. What can I say? What MAN objects to this kind of advertising!! Women could learn a thing or two also. I’m reminded of the Star Trek Next Generation actress, Marina Sirtis. She often made herself up in a similar way and she got thousands of compliments on having class and I think you deserve those compliments to. Do intelligent women have to look like a nineteen fifties librarian to be considered serious? Just my honest opinions.

Geeze, dude, chill out. She’s of an age where any attention from a man is very important, so maybe she’s doubling up on video & did an OnlyFans gig after finishing this one.

A more interesting question would be to ask Ms. Mercer how upset she is that a man who surely must be one of her heroes, Jacob Zuma, has gotten himself arrested. Does she feel the urge to go loot the nearest goods store? Or just work with other free-thinkers to open the nearest border and overthrow yet another elected government?

Lolbertarians are hothouse flowers that perpetually rely on rude men to keep them safe, in order than they can LARP as something from a novel.

  12. @Greta Handel

    WHoooaa….for a minute I thought that was

    Joan Jett!

for a fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Joan and Ilana together in the same place.

who cares what she said. I just turned the sound off and watched….

she’s hot’r than the chili I just ate for lunch.

I listened. She sounds hot too. I don’t care to hear or look at David Vance when Ilana’s around though, so I didn’t bother with the second video.

Joan Jett has some VERY sexy eyes, however she is really butch looking now and showing her age like we all do or will do. Last time I saw her she had close cropped hair ( why would she do that with such beautiful locks?) and sported an over the top butch look. Shame really. What a face in her prime. She was never blessed with curves but what a face and a helluva voice. Even heterosexual males and some females would do the Eighties version of Joan. Now? Probably not many takers that are straight.

Linda Ronstadt was another raven haired sexy eyed lady of rock in her prime. Have to be between Linda and Joan for best eyes in rock and roll.

    Eyes? Edge to Joan
    Voice? Edge to Linda
    Hair? Edge to Eighties Joan

I grew up in the Seventies and partied in the Eighties and absolutely loved music. Music was a big part of life with Late Boomers born in the early 1960s. Acid rock was before our time and acts like Ronstadt and Jett were more the order of the day. Besides, every young boy around back in the Seventies had a crush on Ronstadt. IF I am not mistaken, “Playboy” offered her a tidy sum for a centerfold spread which the very modest Ronstadt turned down. Good for her.
