Trust the late Anthony Bourdain, the Kerouac of cooking, to blurt out the truth when nobody else would.

Following his Jack Kerouac wanderlust, Bourdain had arrived in Seattle to spotlight the manner in which high-tech was changing the city, draining it of its character and of the many quirky characters that made Seattle what it was.

“Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Expedia, and Amazon are the big dogs in town,” mused Bourdain. “A flood of them—tech industry workers, mostly male, derisively referred to as tech boys or tech bros—is rapidly changing the DNA of the city, rewiring it to satisfy their own newly-empowered nerdly appetites.”

That the “tech boys” “are so dull,” as members of a Seattle band say—and sing—in no way assuages their heated effect on the housing market. A street artist called “John Criscitello … told Bourdain how the high-tech influx has driven up housing costs and forced artists [like himself] out of the neighborhood.”

Yes, Big Tech is exacerbating homelessness in Seattle and the surrounds. While correlation is not causation, the ongoing and never-ending, annual importation of a sizable feudal elite from China and India must be factored in the homelessness equation.

“Buoyed by the city’s thriving technology industry, Seattle has consistently been the hottest housing market in the nation.” Commensurate with the explosion in the number of Seattle neighborhoods in which homes cost $1 million has been an explosion in the region’s homeless population.

“Households must earn about $140,000 a year to afford mortgage payments – nearly double the city’s typical income,” but on par with the “average base pay” of a software engineer in the Seattle area.

Some consciousness of guilt was evinced by Microsoft. The company threw money at a problem to which it has greatly contributed. In 2014, Microsoft allocated $500 million toward low-income housing, because, somehow, working-class families who should be inching into middle-class were sliding into poverty, unable to afford homes in Seattle and its surrounding counties.

There are more families with children than chronically homeless people” in the homeless encampments, reveals the Seattle Times. “Fewer than 50 percent of people without homes are addicts.” Underlying homelessness are factors such as “loss of a job,” “eviction,” “medical bills and foreclosure,” the last of which “destroys credit ratings, making former homeowners no longer eligible for loans or, in many cases, rentals.

Among her homeless acquaintances, local writer Lola Peters counts “[a] seamstress, her mortgage broker husband and their two children.”

“Several couples going through the breakup of long-term relationships. A nurse. The middle-aged couple who owned their home and two nearby rental houses. A woman, with a 4-year old child, who lost her job shortly after moving to Seattle. A floral delivery worker. A painter.”

“They are not alcoholics or drug addicts,” protests Peters. “They are people who suffered as a result of political and economic decisions they had no part in.”

And it’s not only Seattle and its suburbs that are filled with suffering, marginalized Americans.

Via CBS News comes the unwelcome news that, “Even with rising wages and falling mortgage rates, Americans can’t afford a home in more than 70 percent of the country. Out of 473 U.S. counties analyzed in a report, 335 listed median home prices more than what average wage earners could afford, according to a report from ATTOM Data Solutions.”

Driven by an unending influx of immigrants, certainly revels in the tight housing market driven by an unending influx of entrants created by immigration central-planners:

“[S]waths of America have seen local housing fundamentally altered by an influx of new immigrant groups. There are now about 42 million immigrants from just about every country in the world living in the U.S., making up about 13 percent of the overall population, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.”

“Immigrants are a big driving force for housing markets across the nation,” says Kusum Mundra, an economics professor at Rutgers University, Newark. “Most want the American dream, which is to own a home.”

With The World clamoring for the American Dream, the average home in the U.S. will soon cost half a million dollars. “Rents are rising much faster than income, while the median home price in some 200 cities is $1 million.”

“Homelessness—perhaps the most extreme form of poverty—is a symptom, surging in high-cost cities,” notes the Economist. “The problem,” moreover, “is most acute in America’s most-thriving cities, the ones governed by unabashed liberals. In 2018, New York estimated its homeless population to be over 79,000, or 48 percent more than in 2010. … California now accounts for one in four homeless Americans.”

“Unabashed liberal” outfits like the Economist, the Brooking Institute and the Seattle Times blame inadequate supply for the housing crisis, ignoring the demand side of the supply-and-demand housing equation whereby, “Big Tech is permitted to petition The State for permission to import The World at a price heavily subsidized by the disenfranchised American taxpayer. Through government immigration policies, a ceaseless demand for housing has been generated.” (See “Homeless In Seattle, Part 1.”)

In particular does the Economist implicate “local control over zoning” for “poor housing supply.”

Historically, zoning regulations, whereby municipal governments decide “what parts of the city will be industrial, residential or commercial,” are linked to high-cost housing. However, city planners have been determining where people live, work and do business for close on a century. Pure market forces and the price system have been absent in city planning for a very long time.

It is, therefore, more edifying to survey the special interests currently involved in the anti-zoning debate. These are the grubby interests of the developers, the realtors and the municipalities (hunkering after more property taxes). All are protesting the idea of the “Single-family home that offers people a chance at traditional, white-picket fence homeownership.”

Development fiends and fanatics all hunger for the revenues that come from “dense housing,” namely “any housing that’s attached to another unit, often in taller buildings: apartments, condos, town homes, row houses.”

Against this background, it seems clear that the egalitarians have appropriated the anti-zoning argument. They now malign single-family neighborhoods in favor of promoting density, which is—wouldn’t you know it?—more expensive and thus lucrative.

To the working poor, the new cellblock units that replace single-family homes are worse than useless, as they cost so much more than the homes torn down.

No wonder the Economist clucks in outrage against “local control over zoning.” As ruthless and reckless as it is, local government is more likely than state or federal governments to be responsive to the petitions of single-family homeowners against building “dense housing,” to accommodate Jeff Bezos’ H-1B visa arrivals.

The World is the American multinational’s labor marker. The housing market in the U.S. reflects that reality. Unburdened by brains, pundits and politicos remain incurious as to why supply and demand in housing can never be brought into a semblance of a balance in such a perversely global labor market.

Lots of luck with changing the agenda: “Dense Housing” is being pushed by globalists on a platform of furthering the cause of Sustainable Development. Who could possibly be against that?

Stop blowing sunshine up the posteriors of the serfs, and start telling them they are going to love their 65sqm sustainable living units because they are saving the planet.

    Apr 2, 2019 – California Overrun

We often hear that the San Francisco Bay area is booming. It is our nation’s high-tech center with beautiful weather and highly-paid people. Then why do most residents say life is getting worse each year, according to this poll taken by Silicon Valley’s premier newspaper?

Is the Bay Area pushing people to the breaking point?
New poll reveals striking, widespread dissatisfaction

The answer is obvious. California welcomes all the world’s people to immigrate, even illegally. At the same time, it wants to preserve the environment by limiting construction of new housing, roads, dams, ect. Unfortunately, the state is run by a greedy and corrupt corporate controlled Democratic party and their media outlets who do not allow discussion of the cause: MASS IMMIGRATION, both legal and illegal.

Why is white homelessness lower in Northwest Europe than in the United States? I’m not saying it does not exist, but far more white people are likely to be homeless in America than in Western Europe or Australia.

What is the reason for more white homelessness in America than in Sweden or German? I’m not talking about refugees, I’m talking about whites.

the ongoing and never-ending, annual importation of a sizable feudal elite from China and India

When people talk about the “dispossession” of Whites in America, it is usually more metaphorical: they mean the political dispossession — here you see it is also a kind of physical dispossession, where lower SES Whites can no longer afford to live in areas where they were born and grew up — and members of this same “feudal elite from China and India” will help suppress the resulting discontent, since they are often the ones who implement the censorship measures of these big tech companies.

  9. Mercer is quite correct that the demand side (frequently involving high tech’/high pay immigrants) is causing this problem. However, supply is also an issue.
Now I realize I’m going full unicorns & rainbows here, but one of the functions of government is to anticipate & meet the needs of citizens. It is up to government to build a variety of low income residencies to meet the needs of low income families & individuals.
An additional benefit of such public housing is that it may retard price & rent inflation.
And – please – don’t say there’s “no money”. Any society that can spend roughly $ 1 trillion a year on defence & “security” in a time of “peace” (yes, I know, LOL) can afford public housing (& a bit of infrastructure too.)
If the US wants to be “great again” it needs fiscal investment, not monetary – financial shenanigans.

  10. @animalogic

Incidentally, the above “supply” comment should not be taken as agreement with the demand problems. Legal immigration is too high, & the employment visa catagories are plain examples of class warfare.

  11. Something’s amiss … SEA TV station KOMO’s ‘Seattle is Dying’ says some very different things based upon a year-long investigation. They came up with 95% of the homeless in SEA being drug addicts …

And zoning — especially any sort of ‘restrictive’ zoning — has always exacerbated the supply of housing at the city, county or state level. Now we’ve even got folks proposing a national rent control … as if the 80 or so years of rent control history (especially in NYC) hasn’t taught them anything … or the economists haven’t proven their point against it again and again and again.

  12. sally says:

Renfro’s comment needs to be packaged into a repeatable, strong, kindergarten level set of messages and distributed and delivered by force of public attention, into the campaign promise, of every crooked and, if there are any, honest politician running for public office at the subdivision, township, city, county, state, regional and national levels. Its the people elected that use the USA to tax Americans. Its the people who run the state that use the structure of the state to tax Americans. Its the people in the county that use the structure of the country to tax Americans, Its the people in the City that use the structure of the city to tax Americans and it is all these people in all these governing structures that spend the money they collect.. Has anyone added up the cost it takes to govern America and to force the governed into position, so the corporation can take advantage of the governed American? Americans need someone to tally and provide an annual cost of governance report. The invoice to contain Americans in the USA human container is enormous. Think about it.

Its the people in the USA that govern Americans but its the interest of persons doing business outside of America that cause the people at the USA to spend tax money in foreign lands rather than at home in America. Its the people at the USA who use the structure of the USA to the hard earned money Americans make from them in order to donate it privately owned domestic and foreign corporations. Its the people at the USA (via the laws and banking systems they create) that decide whether or not governed Americans are entitled to a home, a foreign car or a job. How is that.. because it is those in charge that spend money on corporate projects (like going to the moon, or bombing someone somewhere in some foreign land that has oil and particular oil company wants). Some how, Americans need to understand the people at the USA that use the structure of the USA to keep the governed under control, slave drivers I call them, they serve corporate Pharaohs (most Pharaohs do business outside of America) and the Pharaohs the corporations serve are a very few, super wealthy nearly always invisible persons. <= Pharaohs must, I believe, live in Pyramids cause they are not visible anywhere I go?

Dense Housing” is being pushed by globalists on a platform of furthering the cause of Sustainable Development. Who could possibly be against that? <=by the Alarmist @ one(1) One of the biggest corporate uses of the USA today is HEW funded Affordable Housing (cage space) Lending. If you are builder, borrow these moneys to build smaller and smaller human cages in yet more costly, but more profitable, grass and garden free, tall buildings, which house not just healthy rent strapped jobless Americans, but the even more profitable facilities for the disabled, the privatized jail housing privatized prisoners, etc. ..well the opportunities for the wealthy to get richer and richer are found hidden deep within the policies, your politicians put in the USA laws, rules and agencies; that give authority to those who govern Americans. The few wealthy investors that can qualify for these loans, can own huge structures with many rent earning human cages (units) in them, better yet, cage dwellers rents are government subsidized, so the cage owner always gets paid their rents.

Saving the planet, or green building practices, is in actuality a means of imposing recycled industrial waste and municipal plastic garbage on the proles (especially the very rich ones in Seattle) under the guise of energy efficiency and durability. The green building industry is in one sense all about green, but green as in the color of the money they’re backing up to the bank with from fools who believe the down-home corn of This Old House and its takeoffs, which exist to encapsulate the meme that synthetic is best within that folksy music and plaid shirt shtick of the actors. Does anyone seriously believe PBS’s cosmopolitan leftists who produce that propaganda give a damn about America’s vernacular architecture or traditional way of life?

Beyond aging like painted cardboard and the canned aesthetics, the problem is that these materials notoriously “off gas,” while moronic builders under pressure from leftist groups in academia and attention grabbers in state legislatures pass along these materials, not as dangerous substitutes for the real thing, but as the politically correct way to live. A while back the green building industry had proposed adoption in the structural/energy codes of rules preventing operable windows in residential construction. The idea is to conserve fuel resources, which, given military use and the conspicuous waste of elites, is a farce. As it is, new houses are so tight they require mechanical ventilation, which in turn creates all sorts of problems since these devices are notorious for causing the air quality problems they were meant to cure. A large HVAC contractor in Florida recently had to admit that the super-tight, super energy-efficient house he’d built was more toxic than healthy for his family.

It’s also worth pointing out that paying self-certified experts for LEED certification is another PC shakedown further lining the pockets of the green building industry inasmuch as the criteria include things like the number of parking places for bicycles, while in actual practice these building have performed worse than old buildings in the Capitol that have escaped demolition. In places like Seattle where political correctness comes before human need, the added costs are prohibitive for all but the city’s political class and their high-tech benefactors at Microsoft, Google, ad nauseam.

Tech Succeess and Societal Decline go together.

They are a reflection of Tech’s Neo-Feudalistic Value System.

One thing is certain. This evil is not going to stop itself.

The people of the Western world in general and the USA in particular are an Occupied Territory.

And the only way to liberate an occupied territory is with organized aggression.

But Big Tech and Wall Street, both of whom control the US Government are working more with China than the US.

Their job is to make the anger that fuels revolt unthinkable. Thereby sqaushing any rebellion before it starts.

One way to do that is to improverish the people and then let them eat cake.

The cake in this case, of course, is opiods.

And the hostile elite are more than happy to provide a hapless host population with those.

    Like I said, they’re self-focused, low-character leaders.

And the only society self-focused, low-character leaders are capable of creating is one so dysfunctional and maladaptive that it’ll eventually collapse on top of them.

The reason is affirmative action employment discrimination which keeps so many Whites unemployed.

Landlords would rather rent to a black postal worker or Hispanic union supermarket clerk with a secure steady job than a White programmer or substitute teacher who has no job security and a history of 6 months 1 year gigs.

We’re now in the third generation of affirmative action. Severe employment discrimination is the major reasons Whites can’t marry and have families any more. Conservatives ignore this and pretend White women enjoy aborting babies.

Conservatism is as anti White as the most rabid black democrats. My opinion is that it’s controlled opposition to fool idiots from focusing on the real problems of affirmative action and the anti White hatred spewed from the media government and academia from kindergarten to university

In 2018, about 156 million Americans were employed. And, the average household was made up of 2.53 people. So 156 million employed less 30 million government employed equals 126 million private employees supporting 30 million government employees. That means every 4.2 Americans employed in the private sector (both full and part time) supports one government employee. Or since there were 2.53 persons per US household in 2018, it takes 1.7 households to support each government employee.

Then remember that on average, government employee pay and benefits outstrips private equivalent by a considerable amount and the problem becomes obvious.

I don’t know what else to tell you. I’ve been watching this imbalance for 50 years, having been employed by the federal government for a few years along the way.

And there is a LONG tradition of Americans living in apartments. The whole “home owner” thing started after WW2 when middle class Americans had more money saved up from wartime jobs than they knew what to do with.

I’ve been to Seattle 3 times on business trips. My total time on the ground in Seattle is perhaps 72 hours. I never saw anything especially interesting in Seattle. Desiring to live specifically in Seattle, regardless of the housing market there, is perhaps a symptom of some horrible disease.

It’s not crooked politicians and governments, crooked and evil tech giants, flaws in zoning policy, or immigration both legal and illegal.

The singular problem is the fake monetary system run by bankers who have owned and controlled the planet for at least hundreds but much more likely thousands of years. We live in a world of lies where lying, cheating, and stealing are the best ways to ‘get ahead’. The predator class is expending tremendous efforts in transforming human nature. No golden rule, no moral or ethical character, no thinking, no family, no nurturing or caring for others, no self discipline, no honor and absolutely no spiritual basis whatsoever. This is what the schools teach, the media & entertainment industry reinforces, and governments enforce and encourage.

The only solution is to completely boycott and abandon this aberration, this completely contrived society and create your own society modeled on the complete opposite of what tptb are pushing. No TV, no media, home school your kids, no vaccinations, no gmo food, no voting. Sell to the beast but do not work for it and vote with your wallet every day – no money for corporations and governments but support small, owner operated businesses.

Sing one song and sing it loudly to all – friends and family, politicians and especially wanna be politicians : Restore honest money, abolish fiat currencies and fractional reserve banking, and especially take away the incredibly evil and damaging monstrosity of bankers having the sole ‘right ‘ to create currencies from nothing and charge the world ‘interest’ on it.

The predator class has turned our world into a company town where we all get paid in worthless script that is only good at the company store. In this warped system that Dumbs us down, Distracts us, Divides us, and keeps us Dependent, asset trading (flipping houses) is one of the only ways to escape poverty. The problem is not the asset trader, or even the minions working on behalf of the predator class, it’s the system of wealth transfer and harvesting of human labor by the banking families who use government force, brainwashing and propaganda to keep us poor, stupid, and apathetic. Fake and worthless ‘money’ magically conjured up by that most special breed of humans : bankers. That’s the problem.

You’re right. Both the USA and Russia should open our doors wide to suitable european people fleeing Europe.

We can probably expect a gradually increasing stream of white and other nonMuslim people out of the rapidly Islamizing countries such as England, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden.

Subject, of course, to what all immigrants should have to go through: tests for lethal communicable diseases (tuberculosis and HIV), a test of basic written and spoken English (or Russian, for the RF), the upfront purchase of multi-year medical / dental / and life insurance policies, and the purchase of a bond to secure taxpayers and victims against damages and costs that they might inflict by committing a crime.

These would be immigrants with substantial genetic, linguistic, religious, and cultural commonalities with traditional Americans. What a novel concept.

Don’t make them eligible for citizenship (the stubborn-and-sanctimoniously-altruistic-to-the-point-of-suicide Germans and Swedes might vote for immivasion to continue here too). Just give Them permanent residence and a relatively safe, orderly, prosperous, welcoming, trusting new homeland for the rest of their years (and a USA which took in 30-50 million white European refugees would tend to be more of all those things).

  64. Let it be says:

I disagree. The market should be allowed to work. If the area is becoming rich then allow it. If people can’t afford to live there for the wages they will leave. No workers means wages go up or stores close. Eventually everything in the city is expensive. It will balance itself if you allow it.

The problem is people get in the way, they feel bad so people are allowed to break laws. Then it all falls apart.

  65. Interesting article but the reality is actually that all homelessness, all unemployment and family discord resulting in divorce is caused by usury…the lending of money at interest.

Usury is the prime motivator of a corrupt banking system typical in all countries of the world where a national government does not issue its own debt free currency.

For USA this started with the creation of the privately owned Federal Reserve. In Britain it started a century earlier in 1826 when the British crown ran out of gold and asked Rothschild, which was the only bank that had gold at that time, to issue gold sovereigns.

Charging usually 4% compound a year Rothschild’s usury ensures there is never enough ready cash in the system and that there is never enough cash for a business to expand to its greatest potential.

It is not the fault of immigrants, it is not the fault to town planning and it is not the fault of business. The fault lies squarely at banks who using double entry bookeeping, issue currency that does not exist, at interest.

To solve the homelessness problem close all banks and force your government to issue your currency debt free, only enough to enable trade.

Of course, if you did this, Rothschild would have you bombed to smithereens just as happened to Libya, and as he is trying to do to Syria, North Korea and Iran…the last countries left in the world not under Rothschild control! There is always a price for freedom from Rothschild hegemony!

  66. @Alden

Good point. We could at least restrict landowning to US Citizens and permanent residents, no foreign corporations and no foreigners who are not already permanent residents.

In addition, we could ameliorate this problem, and others, by drastically reducing the population of illegal and legal non citizens overall:

ending birthright Citizenship (and thereby end Chinese and other “birth tourism”),

imposing a very high minimum salary for H1Bs,

increasing the EB-5 immigrant-investor visa minimum from one million to ten million dollars (fully indexed for inflation thereafter),

lengthening the period of permanent residency needed for citizenship from five years to twenty years,

    Ending chain migration (“family reunification”),

and levying a 15% excise tax on electronic transfers of cash to people out of the country.

A friend’s daughter working after school at a walk-in clinic owned by an Indian doctor said he had two sets of prices, one for Indians and the other for everyone else.

The thing about doctors from India is that many don’t have the training that nurses in the US get and yet they’re allowed to take the physician’s licensing exam in all 50 states. It had been a widely known scandal that at most medical schools in India wealthy parents could buy their son or daughter both a seat and grades, and moreover, something like half the education at these diploma mills is foreign exam prep. That’s not to say there aren’t some legitimate medical schools in India with competent staff and students. The point is keeping down the number of places in American medical schools that already favor Jews, women, and POCs over their more qualified white Euro males.

  68. This is a great article that pinpoints exactly the problem with Seattle. Big Tech not only sucks the soul out of this area, but they are making life harder for those who don’t work for them. Housing, traffic and environmental degradation are not the only issues, local healthcare providers are increasingly turning away individual insurers, because they are getting paid so well by the corporate health plans, they don’t need to cater to those on individual health plans. So even after you paid $2,000/month to insure a family of 4, you still can’t see a lot of doctors and go to the best hospitals.

Microsoft’s virtue signaling is making things worse. They are giving $500m to the developers to build “affordable housing” instead of cities to help build infrastructure and schools. So now the developers, flushed in their coffers, are suing local cities who try to block high density developments due to lack of infrastructure, over congested streets and schools. Meanwhile, the shitlib run wild state government in Olympia passed a Growth Management Act to prevent “sprawl”, so they can pack everyone into existing cities like sardines living on top of one another.

As if that isn’t bad enough, the idiot do-gooders in that company are buying up over 1,000 older apartments in nearby pricey cities like Bellevue and Kirkland because they feared the developers would buy them up and turn them into high priced condos, so the low income who live in them would be “displaced”. This in turn further decreases supply of potential housing for their own employees.

The Seattle area simply does not have the infrastructure to accommodate so many new people. Highway I-90 is bumper to bumper from Exit 18 to Exit 13 every morning from 6:45am to 10:30am. In the afternoon, the clogging going the other way starts by 3:30. Everywhere you turn, beautiful fir trees are being clear cutted to build more condos, apartments or tightly packed developments with million dollar homes. Big Tech is killing the Northwest.

What is the weather in Seattle today? Cloudy with a chance of Chindians.

Federal and state employees are a huge voting block for both political parties so they cater to them……they are basically just another welfare class with special benefits superior to the private sector employees.

And don’t even get me started on unfireable ‘teachers’ and their salaries….many of whom can barely put a proper sentence together …in my area anyway. 70. Amazon and Microsoft are not the only big techs in town. Google and Facebook have also opened huge offices here and hiring thousands. SpaceX and Bezo’s Blue Origin also have their HQs in the area. Between Amazon and Microsoft, the Seattle area has become the one city in the world with the highest Cloud computing expertise. Google wants to be in on the lucrative game. They just opened up a new office across the street from Amazon’s HQ in Seattle. The new campus will have 5 buildings and house thousands. They are trying to poach Amazon’s Cloud talents.

In city after city in this area, developers are bribing local city council members to let them build more high density housing. It is the socialists’ dream to make everyone live in high density housing then take public transportation to work. Except our public transportation system is non-existent so traffic is a nightmare everywhere.

Meanwhile, the Democratic party is loving this because people who live in apartments tend to be single or lower income — their voting base. Forcing suburban towns to accept more apartment dwellers means they get to bust up former Republican strongholds. Little wonder that the East Side that used to be staunchly Republican elected its first ever (D) house representative in 2018. The huge influx of DNC loving Asians esp. Indians doesn’t help. So the party that claims to be all about the environment is now strongly backing all the city council candidates who are best pals with the developers to help destroy the environment.

At least Amazon tries to establish an HQ2 out of the region, although with the plan going to shit in NYC, Bellevue across the lake from Seattle is now looking like the real HQ2 with the plan to build a 43 story building there to house their entire Operations division. I would not miss Microsoft one bit if they move out of the region completely and take all their Chindians with them. Bill & Melinda Gates and their libtard run amok Gates Foundation need to move the hell to Mumbai or Nairobi, go live among the people they so love. The US is now under invasion by Indians thanks to all the babies they’ve been saving over there for the past 20 years. The cities are running out of money, as is the entire West, because capital is diverted to supporting cities that are not economically productive. Of course housing stock deteriorates and replacements are scarcely habitable. And of course the native population is being displaced by slave (foreign) labor, just like that of urban Italy in the late Roman Empire. And of course the government is lying worse than wall to wall carpeting, just as the panegyrists did back in the late Roman Empire. What else could happen? They can’t say “Our policies have diverted so much capital to re-electing ourselves that there is now little or nothing for you to live upon”, not more than once anyway. No, it’s going to be “pay no attention to the little man behind the curtain. Get your pronouns right or we’ll have the trans people give you such a whack!”

What the politicians say means less than the sounds of the winds. They are trying to get the votes and money what then need to last another election cycle. No more, no less. The important story is that the US cannot support its existing population anymore (see: homeless population, “White death”, M-13, B. Clinton’s bizarre suggestion that all Blacks be move out of Chicago so that Lebanese, I think it was, could replace them and build a commercially viable society).

Things will spiral downhill as long as that situation persists and is not corrected. That’s why the attempts on Trump’s Presidency are continually mounted and continually fail. They are mounted because Trump is trying to correct just some of the situations discussed in Mercer’s article “Homeless In Seattle, Part 2: Tech Sucks the Soul Out of the City”. The attacks fail for the same reason they are mounted: the impoverished political establishment has lost legitimacy with the people it has impoverished and the members of its coalition that it can no longer support (e.g. no rat control in Baltimore for members of the establishment’s base coalition).

    A few facts to figure.

In fiscal 2018, the government spent $371 billion on net interest on US public debt while the Defense Department budget was $599 billion. Social Security benefits cost $977 billion, Medicare $585 billion and Medicaid $389 billion, according to the CBO estimates.
But the CBO said interest outlays’ rate of growth in fiscal 2018 was faster than that for the three mandatory federal programs: Social Security (up $43 billion, or 5 percent); Medicaid (up $14 billion, or 4 percent); and Medicare (up $16 billion, or 3 percent). In comparison, net interest on the public debt increased by $62 billion, or 20 percent.

Individual income and payroll (social insurance) taxes together rose by $105 billion (or 4 percent).
Corporate income tax receipts fell by $92 billion (or 31 percent),.

Outlays for Social Security benefits rose by $43 billion (or 5 percent), because of increases both in the number of beneficiaries and in the higher medical cost and average benefit payment.
Medicare spending increased by $16 billion (or 3 percent) because of increases both in the number of beneficiaries and in the amount and cost of services.
Medicaid outlays rose by $14 billion (or 4 percent), in part because more new enrollees were added through expansions of coverage authorized by the Affordable Care Act.

  78. @Anon

I do not understand why the US does not facilitate the emigration of Europeans since the 60`s-70’s ??

Foreigners are imported to boost population numbers in cities — no more, no less. There have been attempts to displace people in rural areas, but it’s the cities that are important to the political establishment. Bringing in Europeans doesn’t pay because they don’t stay in the cities — they can hold down jobs outside cities. The whole point is to bring in immigrants _who will stay in the cities_, and the easiest way to do that is to bring in unemployable immigrants. Next easiest way is to bring in immigrant groups that are not terribly bright and will work for corporations, hire each other, and stay in cities or perhaps surrounding suburbs.

Politicians don’t think like the rest of the population. See George Washington Plunkett, _Some Very Plain Talk on Very Practical Politics_, published around AD 1900 as a newspaper series. Plunkett was an articulate Tammany leader, and is still the base source for understanding political thinking.

But the Jews who live in the suburbs still love and adore blacks.

Yeah, but that’s all of White folks everywhere, especially if you have kids. But no one adores Blacks, not Jews or goyim. They avoid them in their personal lives. Red State folks are in Red states and towns for the safety of their kids, less crime and make no bones about it. Blue State liberals, and you gotta love em, THEY claim they stay in suburbs for the good schools. You hear that a lot in New England. The gentrifier-hippy types who like to rub elbows in a virtue-signaling way with Black environs by buying in/near shitty neighborhoods are rare, very few and no one with kids.

No one adores Blacks as typified in the urban centers, please. Our immigrant brothers from down South of Texas and whatnot, they don’t seem to cotton to Blacks much either and they’re under the same Democratic Party umbrella. Hell, these days the Black Boyz N’ The Hood fellas don’t have a place to hang their hats anywhere in South Central/Compton and thereabouts. Also, where’s some Jewish criticism? Because I don’t see anyone hassling Hispanics for their evident distaste for Blacks in their presence.

Believe me, Blacks have their own notions about Jews that are far worse than those expressed here. Muslims are terrorizing the Jews all through Europe. Hispanics are supposedly 80% indifferent to the Jewish ‘predicament’ and don’t respond to the accusations of anti-Semitism. Yet the Jews are grinding down the one race that protected them from truly anti-Semitic populations and indeed handed most of the running of the country over to Jews right here in the States, let alone the debacle in Israel. And yet, they hate us. I don’t know who they think will save them after the White Christians are gone?

That old Austin was dying fast by 1984 so we left it behind with no regrets. I have great memories of a place that no longer exists but no regrets and a happier life in a better, less crowded, cheaper place. Why is it so hard for people to see change and change along with it? The people who have soul and creativity and give it to the places they live are always displaced by the Consumer class who have lots of money but can only destroy beauty, never create it. Homeless in Paradise? Wise up.

You and the jewess, La Mercer, have no intimate knowledge of Seattle or its bum problem. Humble nsa has lots of first hand knowledge as he ventures out of his heavily armed mountain fortress to pick up production parts from Asia at least once a month over in the former “Emerald City”. La Mercer claims only 50% of the bums are addicts…..this is pure bullshit. At least 90% are alcoholics, addicts, or mentally ill……and the rest degenerates or criminals. Walk around the civic center…..the city has one employee whose sole job is to pick up needles off the ground. Seattle is awash in money mainly because it gets a slice of all that junk coming in from Asia, and it is home to Microsoft and Amazon. Capitol Hill used to be the local gay mecca, but rising rents have driven the swishes out. Amazon employees locally are referred to as “AmHoles”. Single women in Seattle have difficulty finding suitable men to breed with as there is a high percentage of tech twinks and gays. A visual inspection of the bums is telling……plenty of white bums and black bums but no Asian or East Indian bums. Races with family structure take care of their own in order to maintain a certain level of dignity. Oh, and that sob stuff about a homeless nurse is just crap……nurses make $50/hour in Seattle and can find immediate employment anywhere as long as they have a clean history (no drug theft or addiction). A decent society would just shoot the worthless bums, doing them and us a favor…..instead Seattle indulges the bums and wonders why it gets more of them.

Sir, you make a very valid point about family structure.

Indians or Chinese will let their brother live with them in their two-room apartment or their cousin or whoever.

If you were to talk to the homeless whites, they would tell you that they never knew their father, were raised by a single mother or that their parents divorced when they were five.

Also, a hardcore junkie is impossible to live with. I’ve known a few. Even if they don’t steal your things, a bunch of their junkie friends are coming and going at all hours. So if you are a career druggie who got into meth at age 14 you probably burned all your bridges and never held a job and have an arrest record a mile long. So nobody will hire you and your family won’t take you in.

Finally, as a Midwesterner, I can tell you the biggest stoners and hippies always take off for Seattle. Once they get there, they become psychedelic derelicts. Most of them could call their brother and get a greyhound ticket back to Ohio. But they won’t.

    MAGAtards at Trump Rallies.

Clinging like senile good-for-nothings to a wornout, threadbare, mouldy, moth-eaten ideology because they lack the courage, honesty, and intelligence to transcend it and move into a larger freedom worth defending against a mob of communists even crazier and dumber than them.

Fortunately, they, like AB are being suicided by The Deep State, to the tune of about 50,000 per year. Gobbling up those opiods like so many M & M’s.

Those that aren’t are getting their asses kicked leaving Trump Rallies.

Do you think that ever would have happened if they truly believed in something worth defending?

Why should Pajeet the Indian startup emigre really care about Seattle or America’s problems, any more than a white tourist to India cares about local untouchables?

He has moved to Seattle because the US government allowed him to do so. He is being paid to do a job. Why should he care about some locals he knows nothing about? Maybe the homeless local is a stoner or maybe a nurse. That isn’t his problem. He didn’t create the US system that allows this to happen.

And the landlords are now Asians. Probably most of them are not Jews. They are local whites who see an opportunity to make a million dollars and cash out and leave rainy Seattle for Florida or Hawaii. They want to make a load of money. The Indians and Chinese are willing to pay it.

Why should Chinese or Indians care about local whites who cannot earn enough to keep up? Especially if the local whites are stoners who’ve been smoking too much pot for twenty years.

And why aren’t blacks forced out of cities? No matter what, they sure stay put.

Federal agricultural policies destroyed that life. The farm scenes they show on television in insurance commercials are generally phony. Take my word for it.

Whites could gain some insight into races that don’t care about anything. There is nothing that the government or society can do to these other races. Jews are attacked more than other whites in NYC by blacks because these races fear no reprisals. They have no career so jail means nothing, even a life sentence. They care less about losing a job. Omar does not care even though she is a politician. Nobody can do anything to her.

If you are on welfare all your life what do you care.

What would bother them is living in the sticks like “peckerwoods” and “crackers” have to. They’ll rise up and murder Asians before this occurs. But Seattle has few blacks so this is not an issue.

  114. @Jim Christian

Jewish strategies have consistently failed since about AD 1900. The pattern has been: good planning, good execution, achievement of goal, spectacular failure. All the goals have been intended to make the Jewish population safe by either establishing total domination (USSR) or displacing the Western State by providing a better system and more protection to the proletariat (Communism). It always went well until the last stage, when total catastrophe hit (WW II, revelation of Stalin’s crimes by Nikita K., dissolution of the Soviet Union) and the effort was abandoned with serious Jewish casualties.

This latest strategy doesn’t make sense either. R. Unz American Pravda series suggests that the Jewish eschaton, the end of the world in which God rules and all things are made perfect (or at least ended) has Judaism free to worship God and all other humans working for them or being punished. If all the above strategies are intended to immanentize the Jewish eschaton (bring about the final state of the world through human effort [1]), then it’s possible that there is no successful strategy. The immense work and near flawless execution leading to a fiasco would thus be explained.

As to other races being worse than the Whites, just try to convince any SJW (Jewish or otherwise) of that. The harder you try, the more they decide that you’re despicable. Belief in evil Whites is a moral/ethical identifier, rejecting that belief would exile them from their primary group, and they can’t even consider such an exile, hence such a rejection.

One way to look at government costs is the number of government employees supported by non-government employees. By my count, including contractors there are approximately 30 million Americans employed by governments, federal, state, local, etc.

Oh, Jim! Just think of it! Your “non-governmental workers” probably include bankers, accountants, personnel managers, party organizers, golf club managers, tv pundits estate agents, lawyers and God alone knows what else. Probably the number of productive workers, is a tiny fraction of the whole of the non-governmental employees! (I worked in a factory making TV transmitters and there were 150 actually making the tvts and 450 working in the office! And that was not all, because that company was but a part of a large group.) Probably each productive worker is supporting several parasites.

Or maybe, this being affordable is one of the results of the US$ being the global reserve currency.

Tech could be located across the Us more if remote worked was pushed more.

If civilization survives the next couple of decades (which is _very_ much in doubt imho), part of what saves it will be remote tech.

Remote tech requires intelligent management (no affirmative action) that identifies clear goals, creates systems to track progress towards those goals, and individual contributions towards that progress.

Most middle and senior managers today are useless idiots, so therefore remote work is totally dependent on the integrity and motivation of the remote workers. Most managers these days spend much of their time trying to impress their bosses, a circle jerk that adds no value.

Perhaps AI will replace managers and make this work–too early to tell.

Indians and Asians moving to Seattle don’t care if someone is a hippie who holds a job that barely covers his rent.

They don’t care about lower class whites who were born to single mothers, went to lousy public schools, had a bad marriage and started a family too young, ended up with a low-paying job or no job. They don’t care if minimum wage is too low.

They just know they can make heaps of money so they go somewhere and do so.

The landlords in Seattle are not Jews. There are very few Jews in Seattle. Most of the landlords who raise the rent will be Irish-American Catholics or Anglo-Saxons who suddenly see a way to make millions and retire to Florida or the South of France. Single family homes have nothing to do with it. I don’t know about San Francisco or other areas, but unlike the author, I do know Seattle. The high price of housing in Seattle was strictly due to the incompetence of the Seattle City Council and the idiots who put them in office. After limiting new housing construction in South Lake Union and Eastlake to 3 stories, the Seattle City council had the brilliant idea of encouraging Amazon to move to South Lake Union. Same with the “urban white underclass” and the pill (Code for Irish, Polish, Italians). Wanda and Colleen and Gina all got on the pill and so as a result by 1990 the who Welcome Back Kotter era of non-fatal but nonetheless destructive urban white juvenile crime (Purse snatching, car theft, smash and grab) plummeted.

As for homosexuality, how does this affect heterosexuals?

And what can you do to suppress gay males? Gay males will be rampantly promiscuous with other gay males no matter what. Watch the AL PACINO film CRUISING. There is no way to prevent gays from well, being, gay. Nor to prevent them from getting AIDS. Most of them will. That is what happens to men who have 500 partners a year.

It was standard AJC ADL tactics. Find White Christian Shabbat goys, put them in office and give them their orders to put up projects encourage section 8 and make the welfare benefits transfer as swiftly as possible.

Illinois was of course most eager and cooperative about transferring some of the welfare burden to Iowa. ADL AJC ordered it. And so it was done.

Black population of Des Moines is 11 percent. That’s the percentage at which the public schools and crime become dangerous and Whites abandon the cities. Gays are always tidy, and concerned about appearances. So buildings and businesses begin to look nicer.

Out go the single mothers and the juvenile crime.

Out go the pimps. Rentboys are not going to be controlled by pimps.

Out goes the heroin and crack. Gays like meth and club drugs like Ecstasy.

Out goes the guns and male violence. Gays just go around blowing one another, so why settle an argument with violence.

Out goes the homelessness. If you gay and willing to give blowjobs, you’ll always have a place to live.

Out goes the welfare. Gays are never pregnant.

And you are right. Public schools don’t matter to gays.

“pajeet” is not an aryan name, so using it just makes you the idiot instead.

arjun, arjen, indra, inder, vivek, uma, hema, arya, vina, seobha: those would all be traditional common popular indo-european names. any traditional name in europe (not derived from bible) would have a common Indian/aryan variant.

I’ve spent years of my life in Goa and Kerala. Some time in Mumbai.

Most popular names were Gulab, Ramachandran, Mohan Lal…but that is Nair. Nishant is more common with every Hindu.

Goan are half-breed Portuguese with names like Edwin. Michael even. Last names like Fernandez.

Muslim Indians are usually named Saif. Ferous. Salim.

    Brahmin…I guess Pravin.

And how many Southie tech geeks from Bangalore would have Aryan names being Malayalam.

I’m a Gora who lived and worked in India.

Why do people think it’s their God-given right to afford the epicenter of a metropolis? Yes, big, business hubs are costly, because they attract a lot of people with money, and a lot of people period. And I’m pretty sure most of the immigration is domestic. And that’s part of the reason people move out in the suburbs to have families. That’s also why big cities are today what a couple of sociologists termed “entertainment machines” of childless well-to-do youngsters who’d rather splurge their money in the costly-but-exciting city life than in family formation*. It is what it is. And if some bum decides it’s his right to afford anywhere near the downtown and insists that he won’t look anywhere else BUT that city, then it’s on him. The economy, business, and wealth-creation shouldn’t be halted just for their sake, as these production centers are the reason so many people are finding good job opportunities and making their lives better and the economy overall is doing well.

As to Bill Gates, let me tell you something: the guy has done more good with Microsoft than he’s done with charities. I mean, he’s given a lot of money to charity, but Microsoft has provided legitimately hundreds of thousands of jobs and created enormously productive lines of business, and made lots of profit for a lot of people – a lot of people have stock in Microsoft. Not to mention how easier he (and other successful entrepreneurs like Bezos) made our lives with their products. He’s done more good doing that than giving tens of millions of dollars to various outside causes. And as a result, he’s got nothing to apologize for.

Chinese gangsters took over all the tourist trap shops in Fishermen’s Wharf 30 years ago.
The Irish either moved to the suburbs 60,70 years ago or very very very expensive Marina, Pacific Heights Presidio Heights Sea Cliff, St Francis Woods 60, 70 years ago.

The Chinese criminals in San Francisco and most of America are organized crime. Chinese criminals only act against other Chinese. They are Tong organizations with links to other Tongs all over the world.

The Tong businesses are extortion of other Chinese, illegal very crooked gambling, Shylocking at 200% interest rates prostitution, brothels, not street walkers so it’s not noticeable. Labor trafficking, 40 50K per person with usurious interest, owner ship of restaurants, food processing garment and other factories whose indentured servants live in the sweatshop.

Who said there is no manufacturing left in America?

The juvenile, if they really are juvenile and not adults are apprentices in organized crime. They’re not permitted to commit ordinary teen age crime.

As for the gays who reclaimed the Fillmore Divisadero neighborhood from the blacks they carried guns and kept guns in the houses they bought and made it known. They never went out alone as blacks only go 3 or more to 1. The big bad black bullies just caved when confronted with White men with guns who brawled and won the assault and battery battles.

The police of course backed the gay men. The gays even sent out decoys, a lone White man sauntering along at night. Blacks attacked, White gay men jumped out of a car and beat up the big black bullies.

Of course, having more money to contribute to politicians and hordes of activists, the gay Whites ruled the politicians. And the politicians backed the gay gentrifiers against the blacks who made the neighborhood a crime ridden slum.

No rabble rousing news articles about White racist KKK Nazis beating up black victims of racism and slavery. Police cooperated.

Every White person in town cheered the gays on.

There was a time when the blacks were on the verge of destroying ultra expensive Pacific Heights. “ Don’t buy in Pacific Heights. Soon as the blacks cross California St it’s all over”
When some of minion of Satan judge ordered school busing the black savages from Fillmore ghetto Ben Franklin Jr high were sent to Marina jr high. The savages roamed the Marina robbing and beating. Favorite target was knocking down old ladies for their purses. 6 7 8 grade kids. Another sport of the savages was pack swarm shoplifting.

The gays moved in, the blacks moved out within about 12 years. The gay White men with balls and brains drove the big bad black bullies away.

Doing so not only reclaimed Fillmore but saved Pacific Heights and The Marina from the Black Plague.

Gay White men did it by 1. being very tough and always going 3 to 3 5 to 5 carrying guns and invading with force an meeting violence with violence. 2 by taking over city government with activism and money

They made it very clear “ We can live in Fillmore because we don’t have women and children to protect. We’re string armed men who can take care of themselves”. “ We know and can learn the skills and have the money to restore those beautiful pre earthquake houses” ( the blacks destroyed ).

My Seattle relatives detest Paul Allen because he didn’t build housing projects for welfare moms and their thug children. They’re looney left liberals.

Now they’re mad because the welfare people are homeless and annoying.

Is it quicker to travel faster? Are commute times to work today less than they were 200 years ago?

No. Back then you could walk to work in the time it now takes you to drive to work.

OMG, someone that actually uses the muscle between their ears!

There are so many flaws in the article’s logic (if there is any to begin with) to bother… Do you really want to know the truth?? You can’t handle the truth.

To paraphrase your beloved Jordan Petersen, it can all be summed up to a single word: resentment. Resentment of the loser…

You simply cannot clamp together the whole immigration. Tech companies need people who are smart enough and who worked hard enough to be able to grasp, understand, develop and implement the technology. They are even happy to pay 150k, 200, 300 k a year to get those people…from anywhere… they are desperate for people. And, of course if you are an American you have at least 50% advantage at the start, and justifyably so i would add. The intimate knowledge of the language, culture, attitude, all the soft skills surely should count for a lot. Alas, there simply aren’t that many Americans with the right chops. It certainly isn’t about the low salaries!

So, at the same time, you are revelling in the fact of how high an IQ an american has and on another, somehow, there are too many foreigner taking jobs for smart people… I must be missing something… Shouldn’t you be happy that you are practically stealing all those good genes from poorer parts of the world thus robbing them of their best chance for the future? Well, of course yes! The country and this nation is of course benefiting. It is not about the country, right. It is all about the personal feeling of inadequacy and resentment. With all those starting advantages, accumulated experience and the social capital, you are still managing to “lose” to those chinese, or indians or fill-the-blanks aliens…

That is what hurts so much.

Now, a little about the situation in Seattle. It is called “gentrification” Illona. I am sure that even if the newcomers were all fellow Americans, you would have still be whining about the “loss of the good old, quirky, bla, blah, blahh…” But, being beaten by the “lesser race” … Boy, that hits hard…

Noone wants to commute for two hours each day, so everyone tries to live as close to work as possible. So, closer to work places, higher the cost of living. Nothing new here I suppose. A lot of developers are young and single, so it simply makes sense to build apartments, which are close to work. And a public transport to suit. But, wait, that destroys our old quirky Seattle we all knew and loved… And also filled up your vallet to the boot without lifting a finger…

I can tell you one thing, no one moved to Seattle for the good weather. Or the friendliness of the people and their “PNW hospitality” aka the “Seattle chill”.

There is probably some truth in your post about a completely idiotic Council. Not sure that merely building higher buildings in South Lake Union would have changed that much though. It is all about 50,000 new highly paid workers who arrived with their families and who want to live as close as they can afford to their work.

I am actually not convinced at all that these newcomers, which pretty much any other city on earth would have killed to have in their community are at all connected to the homelesness in the city. It is much more about completely looney left controlled Council. And, about $1bn worth of vested interests of the non-profit “welfare brigades” to keep the homeless people right where they are.

To give you a hint, as China reinforced their enforcement of the overseas money transfer restrictions in the summer of 2018. the housing prices droped by more than 10% and haven’t recovered since.

$ 1 trillion a year on defence and security

Agreed, but problem is that $1T annually has become a global jobs program for several million people.

One of the large US defense contractors put bread on the table for four generations of my family. My 90 year-old grandmother is still collecting the corporate pension of her husband (my grandfather) and he died in 1978.
