Yes, we know it was chaos, but then again there was no good way to leave that dusty hellhole—or “shithole,” as the much-missed Donald Trump would have put it.

Joe Biden was right in his “Remarks on Afghanistan“: “… if Afghanistan is unable to mount any real resistance to the Taliban now, there is no chance that one year — one more year, five more years, or 20 more years of U.S. military boots on the ground would’ve made any difference.”

Tempting as it may be for right-thinking conservatives and paleolibertarians, in particular, to use the inevitable collapse of the charade in Afghanistan against Biden—honesty demands that we avoid it.

TV Republicans, no doubt, will join the shrill CNN and MSNBC females and their houseboys, who love nothing more than to export the American Nanny State, in bashing Biden for his decisive withdrawal. The president said, “I stand squarely behind my decision. After 20 years, I’ve learned the hard way that there was never a good time to withdraw U.S. forces.”

Falling into the Republican line of partisan, tit-for-tat retorts is wrong. The man made the right choice—as opposed to Barack Obama’s. Indeed, Afghanistan was a war Obama had embraced .

Beware especially the military men, who will flood Fox New with the sunk-cost fallacy. As explained in this 2014 column, “GOP Should Grow A Brain, Join The Peace Train“:

“Military movers and shakers are heavily vested in the sunk-cost fallacy—the irrational notion that more resources must be committed forthwith … so as to ‘redeem’ the original misguided commitment of men, money and materiel to the mission.”

To that end, repeated ad nauseam is the refrain about our “brave men and women of the military,” whose sacrifice for [Afghani] “freedoms” will be squandered unless more such sacrifices are made.

The Skeptic’s Dictionary dispels this illogic: “To continue to invest in a hopeless project is irrational. Such behavior may be a pathetic attempt to delay having to face the consequences of one’s poor judgment. The irrationality is a way to save face, to appear to be knowledgeable, when in fact one is acting like an idiot.”

Besides, it’s time the military heed its paymasters, The American People, a majority of whom don’t want to send U.S. soldiers back into Afghanistan.

The best thing about Joe Biden’s decisive departure from Afghanistan was that he angered the girls and the “girly boys” of the networks as much as he infuriated the jingoists at Fox News and the globalist the world over.

How good is that?!

As always, David Vance and myself do get serious, and dish out hard, immutable truths, via podcast and video, so listen up or watch!

Thanks, Madam, but USA should never have entered Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires. It was done after 911. But 911 is an inside job by Mossad, a well suspected fact.

    Israel did 9/11:

The problem is the alien invasion. Now the Judaists are pushing for more aliens from there also, which is wrong, wrong, wrong.

  2. If you can go by TV footage from the Kabul airport, it seems that 90% or more of the Afghanis’ so desperate to leave their country are military age men. I wonder how many of them served in the Afghan army? I’ve read that many push the women and children aside, like cowardly men fleeing the Titanic, although real men on that doomed ship were made of sterner stuff.

Assuming that these young refugees are decamped all over the USA, as is happening to those who illegally invade our Southern border and get free plane rides, they will upset the delicate balance between the sexes, meaning that few Afghani men will have an outlet for their lust. So, we’ll see rapes of American women and children, as is occurring with regularity in Western Europe.

So, in the name of women’s equality, can we add their right to be raped? Will our leftist feminist leaders object, and will our captured presstitutes report it? I wouldn’t bet on it, unless it’s a black woman. Just grin and bear it. As senile Biden said in another context, it’s your patriotic duty. Just another day in the Biden regime’s ongoing destruction of the Dis-united States.

Sorry, if something is “well suspected,” it is a hypothesis, not a fact.

  4. Thanks to Ms. Mercer for explaining the rational case for withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Biden et al are to blame for the fiasco and tragedy because they supported the invasion.

“Et al” includes Schumer and Pelosi: McConnell and Romney and Grassley and Bush-Cheney; all the democrats and republicans except Ron Paul and a handful of like thinkers; and virtually all of The American People.

I recently explained patiently and politely to a conservative republican some of the evidence that 911 was a Rah Rah USSA! inside job. He became angry and stomped out.

In another recent experience, I politely explained to an airport couple about the BBC TV reporter woman who on the late afternoon of 911 announced to the world that WTC building 7 had “just collapsed”. As she spoke, the view behind her plainly showed building 7 still there, standing tall and strong; but 30 minutes later it “collapsed”.

The husband, who had completed a career as an engineer for a US aircraft and weapons manufacturer refused to consider this “conspiracy stuff”. But his wife became excited and said that she was going to look at the video on-line.

Everybody except hard core neocons approved the withdrawal. But to say it “could have been handled better” is somewhat of an understatement. Imagine the reaction if trump had presided over this fiasco.

  6. Agree with this article, and would say that the White House vegetable got one right. Would also add that Europe is very UPSET right now, led by warmongering Britain. To listen to them over the last 4 days is to be reminded of John McCain’s greatest one liners. They got no notice, this was a NATO mission, how dare you do this to your allies, etc. etc. This is like sweet music to me.

  7. @Mark Humphrey

Mark you are indeed “spot on”. I was at watering hole 911 watching BIG Screen with the Monday night wrestling crew ( all oil and gas engineers-geophysicists, geologists –economists and accountants) and went to Mens Room but returning Sound was way up and Fire Chief stating “We decided to pull it ( Building 7)”!! and the boys started chanting things about Marvin Bush—Towers of Doom—Diesel –Big Boss Man——Mankind —-and it was those demolisions –done to absolute perfection while in Florida GWB reading “My Pet Goat” —Vince McMahon could not have crafted a better set up——Undertaker. That interview however was only over the airwaves one time —-puzzled as to Why???

  9. “You want to train 40,000 Afghans? Good luck with training 40! Many are high, most are illiterate, almost all are uninterested in being part of US centralizing efforts. The whole society is built on a feudal system… It’s a corrupt regime of warlords and potentates. But that’s what any regime in Afghanistan is going to be”:

David Vance and I were WAY AHEAD on Afghanistan.

But what about the judeo-christian religious democracy based on law?
We should vote for buddhists, hindus and the scientologists from now on.
Even amish,or daoists or indian chiefs would be better.Vote, vote…
work harder, pay more ,think less…voting is our right…Prai\$e

  11. @Heymrguda

Imagine the reaction if trump had presided over this fiasco.

Trump would have done a deal with the Taliban … oh wait… he did. Then the Pentagone dragged its feet, and Biden screwed the deal by waltzing past the agreed deadline.

But who knows what is real and what is show. Are the New Taliban being stage managed by the the Bear and the Dragon, as suggested by Pepe Escobar, or is the US using the New Taliban as a stalking horse from behind which the US can continue to poke the Bear and the Dragon?

We sure shipped a lot of nice weaponry there in the last months. Was the Pentagon planning another surge that Joe screwed by ordering a hasty, haphazard depature, or was the plan to arm the New Takiban all along? Is the New Taliban leader who spent eight years as a guest at Gitmo seriously intent on striking at the West, or was he programmed while there to destabilise China’s BRI? I know Afghanistan has lots of big caucasian-looking guys, but some of them look and hold their weapons like they are trained Special Forces ‘Operators.’ Ours, or Spetznaz (why would we arm the Spetznaz)? Was that scene of smiling and waving Afghanis running alongside the departing C-17 staged? Where did the falling bodies come from … the gear was already fully retracted. When did the dozen or so pictured on the bulge of open gear door fall or get blown off, and how did the three falling hold on past the closing of the gear doors? Think of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, with Tom Cruise holding onto the A400 as it climbs … kind of Wag the Dog, no? It wouldn’t be the first time the MSM staged things to support the Deep State.

One day the New Taliban are all Kumbiya and talking up amnesty and girls going to school and women working, and the next day they kicking people around, almost as if a director is shouting at them, “You aren’t being Taliban enough!

    Makes one go “Hmmmm.”

  12. Mercer is spot on. Hurrah to Joe for lancing the boil and double hurrah for splashing pus from it into everyone’s eyes.

  13. George 1 says:
    @Mark Humphrey

Given that nearly everything the U.S. government has said for decades about any topic is not true, what are the chances that the 9/11 narrative is true?

The rule of thumb is that anything they or their organs report can be counted upon to be lies.

  14. Wokechoke says:

It remains to be seen if Trump got any policy he asked far at all. Other than shifting the US embassy to Jerusalem what’s he got? Trivial shallow and temporary influence characterised by an insubordinate military FBI and CIA. It’s hard to pin much on Trump. Even the pandemic, infected mostly big cities full of demographics that hate him.

  15. TG says:

One is reminded that our loyal allies in the Afghani army tended to kill US soldiers when they were allowed into US bases, so I believe it was procedure to take away the weapons and do security checks on our loyal Afghani allies before they were allowed to come into contact with high-ranking US officers and civilian officials.

And these were our ‘allies!’ You know that most of the ‘refugees’ we are going to be admitting did not even pretend to fight for us, and many will with certainty have been on the other side…

  16. TG says:

The population of Afghanistan was 20 million when the US invaded, and is now about 40 million and slated to increase to about 80 million in the next 20 years.

The Afghani population cannot feed itself, it is absolutely dependent on US food aid. Perhaps with a different set of policies or a different sort of economy etc. the Afghanis could have figured out how to feed their growing population, but the bottom line is that they didn’t – and this will be obvious to the US government.

Now we have both cut off food aid, and frozen Afghanistan’s money accounts so they cannot import food.

The US government is deliberately starving the Afghani people.

Perhaps: the better to juice up those refugee flows? All that lovely cheap labor and higher rents, coming soon to your neighborhood… The rich are going to make a lot of money off of this. And we’ll pay for it, in a variety of ways.

  17. After Soviet departure, Afghan forces fought for three years against religious fanatics supported by Pakistan.

No, Biden & comp. were wrong. This was a miserable & cowardly failure.
