I think there is a lot of “option paralysis” in the modern American marriage market. People of all ethnic backgrounds in America are bombarded with images of lotsa’ sex before marriage/happy families that started late via the media (which is assuredly statistically misleading). Groups that are less cynical about the mass media might buy into these prepackaged notions.

Great news. Hispanics have been dragging down the average IQ in the US with their high birth rate. Thank goodness it’s beginning to come down. Hispanics — at least, Hispanics of the Mexican persuasion — turn rather quickly into more white folks. It usually takes no more than three generations.

You are correct. In fact, I think it takes less than three generations, since a large percentage (35-40%) of 2nd-gen Mexican-Americans interbreeds with non-Hispanic whites.

The offspring become generic Italian-looking white Americans. No discussion about US Mexican-Americans is complete without including the topic their very high intermarriage/interbreeding rate with whites.

If East Asians and Mexicans can’t provide replacement level migration anymore they will go and get them in Central America, Central Asia or Sub-Saharan Africa where birthrates are still above replacement level, sometimes significantly so.

Incorrect. In fact Trump endorsed the Raise Act whuich roughly halves immigration. Its a measure of the priority that displacement level immigration has always been that it, nor any other reduction, will have the remotest possiblility of being enacted into law. If you walk into any large-scale urban welfare agency—and this liberal NY Times worker likely never will—you will notice a disproportionate number of foreign nationals, applying for the copious amount of welfare available to womb-productive single-breadwinner households with American-born children. Immigrants consume more welfare than citizens.

The womb-prolific legal / illegal immigrant moms bring their kids’ SS cards and a boyfriend or husband’s 8 paycheck stubs, proving part-time, traceable income that falls below the very low earned-income limis for the means-tested welfare programs. Most of them qualify for hundreds in free EBT food, monthly cash assistance, housing assistance and electrcity assistance, all of which is allotted in increasing amounts per US-born kid. They also get up to $6,431 in refundable child tax credit cash to beef up their earned income.

Means-tested welfare eligibility is almost entirely based on womb productivity in a single-breadwinner household, with few exceptions for non-womb-productive citizens or noncitizens in any of the means-tested programs. Womb-productivity-based welfare consumption among illegal immigrants has only gone down 10% since Trump took office, so I doubt the writer’s command of the facts, regardless of her ability to spin the shop-worn idealized-immigrant theme.

Does she have separate stats for womb-productivity-based welfare consumption among legal immigrants? How does she arrive at the lower Hispanic birth rate? Is she using Census numbers? Did they count all of the Hispanics, including the college grads? Illegal aliens attend college.

We are always hearing about the crushing burden of student debt among the cash-strapped Millennials—a massive generation of college grads no more cash-strapped than most Xers that is demanding student-debt foregiveness and free college, using the argument that the wages of underemployed college grads are not sufficient to cover the skyrocketing cost of housing.

This Greek chorus of student loan woes calls BS on idyllic visions of heroic, female college grads, taking the labor market by storm, getting good-paying jobs due to their inherent Latina superiority and their superior immigrant parents who pressured them to attend college no more than the parents of millions upon millions of underemployed whites.

A little book called “Mexifornia” provides a lot of contradictory statistical information about Hispanic college graduation rates. Albeit in the years since its publications lots of scholarship funding for immigrants, including illegal immigrants, may have changed this. The beleaguered immigrants also may have less debt due to skin-pigmentation-based college-financing privileges.

I also doubt the glowing, feminist, college-grad labor-market review based on workforce composition. Except at the management level, most private-sector jobs do not pay much, and for many of the lower-level office jobs, employers prefer non college grads with unearned income from government for womb productivity that makes up the difference between low wages from part-time work and the cost of living.

Advanced software does more of the work all of the time, making college grads in most fields less necessary unless non-work-related things, like EEOC compliance or political correctness, are overriding factors.

Maybe, it is just the Hispanic female college grads, with their access to race-based hiring preferences and gender preferences in some fields, who are experiencing such a fabulous labor market for degree holders. A bachelor’s degree in any subject still means something to oppressed minorities since EEOC-minded employers are often looking for workers with non-white skin-pigmentation hues. Some male-dominated fields search for females to fill higher-paying positions, with minority females providing a double EEOC-compliance boost.

At the average level, minority-dominated jobs that require a degree are among the few steady jobs with benefits, like say welfare-agency jobs with an overwhelming majority of minorities making it through the bully gauntlet to get civil servant status. More minorities get welfare, proportionate to their numbers in the population, and more get safe government jobs, too.

This article doesn’t align with the labor market experience of many non-Hispanic Xer college grads, but maybe, age discrimination plays a role bigger than racial preferences—a role that is de-emphasized in accounts of non-diverse, diversity-minded, feminist, Millennial workplace nirvanas, for now anyway.

Once this bigly generation goes a little farther down the road, we will hear more bellyaching about age discrimination than even with the Boomers, a smaller generation than the Millennials despite all of the noise about a lower American birth rate.

That zero-growth birth-rate noise is just used as an excuse for driving wages down with a system of pay-per-birth welfare and child tax credits that enables single moms and womb-productive immigrants to work part time for low wages, while maintaining fake-independent, government-subsidized households.

So many non-womb-productive, non-welfare-eligible, single Millennial women, including many college grads, are living with their parents or in big groups of post-college roommates, belying the concept of hear-me-roar, female college grads, abandoning the shackles of family because of superior, high-wage-fetching skills.

Realityville: Regardless of skin pigmentation, better find a husband while young to split housing costs with unless you plan to go down the lucrative, welfare-for-womb-productivity path as a single-earner female.

That path is much more lucrative than most jobs for non-welfare-eligible, non-womb-productive, single breadwinners with or without a degree, whether or not they are female, light-skinned or dark-skinned. In a highly discriminatory labor market full of “voted-best-for-moms” jobs, where almost every long-term employee and manager is a parent, a husband and / or children helps women to snag and keep one of the higher-paying, family-friendly, vacation-friendly, crony-parent jobs—the few jobs with decent wages and benefits.

The few with decent-paying jobs are not mostly single, young (or older) college grads without children, needing for earned-only income from one job to cover all bills. They are overwhelmingly“needs-the-job” parents. Regardless of how absentee from work they are, needs-the-job parents with two incomes and vacation-financing child tax credits are the ones holding most of the good jobs.

These young, non-womb-productive, Hispanic, female college grads must be superwomen—a superior skin-pigmentation group with enhanced powers that vault them above all of the crony-parent hiring, the crony-parent back-watching and the employers seeking mom employees who can work cheaply ‘cause they have “somethin’ comin’ in” from a spouse, an ex spouse or welfare and child tax credits that makes the low pay and part-time hours acceptable. I have worked with Hispanic women who were no different than mere mortals of other ethnic and racial groups, displaying all the same foibles, so forgive my skepticism.
