John Bateson calls suicide in the military a problem that no one wants to discuss.

It’s a problem he’s been studying for years, both as the former executive director of the Contra Costa Crisis Center and now as the author of “The Last and Greatest Battle: Finding the Will, Commitment, and Strategy to End Military Suicides” (Oxford University Press, $29.95, 384 pages). The book lays out the problem in startling detail. Each day, on average, a current U.S. service member dies by suicide. Each hour, a U.S. veteran does the same.

“It’s shocking,” Bateson said in a recent interview. “Since 2003, the number of active-duty troops who have killed themselves is greater than the number who have died in combat. When you put it in those terms, you start to realize that this is not a small problem.”

Suicide has always been present in the American military, and Bateson covers the history from the Civil War through Vietnam. But he says that today’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have sent suicide rates soaring.

THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT SUICIDES IN THE MILITARY—NEVER JOIN THE US MILITARY AND/OR GET OUT OF IT.

Thanks for the interesting article. It should be obvious to any thinking person that the US govt. is a criminal enterprise, given the way it destroys its own country by flooding it with 3rd world aliens, “legalizing” a sham called “gay marriage”, etc.

Our army should be at the US-Mexico border, protecting us from the immigration invasion, instead of going around the world and dying in foreign wars which often have no direct relevance to our interests, and are often for Israel.

The US soldiers are basically mercenaries, killing and dying mainly for Israel and to protect the interests of the Jewish lobby. What did they achieve in WW2 (Whites killing Whites 2)? They went and killed millions of their own white Anglo-Saxon brothers and sisters. The only winner were some people who got a state they never ever had before—Israel.

No wonder, risking your life for the world’s most corrupt and evil criminal enterprise like the US govt. and the lying scamming Jewish controlled media would make anybody depressed enough to commit suicide.

The most ethical, moral, just and practical and sensible thing to do is to never join the US army. Or get out of it if you are already in it. That will send them a message–and save your life.
