East Palo Alto Police Chief Albert Pardini strolled the tree-lined streets of his city with a grin and a wave for everyone he passed. They waved and smiled back.
The 1950s-era bungalows that define East Palo Alto’s look were mostly neat and clean, and the whole feel as Pardini walked and talked last week was something like the old TV Mayberry — not exactly what you’d expect in a place that once earned the title of murder capital of the United States.
Or where chiefs and pastors struggled for decades to drive down the rampant violence that made this little town — upscale Palo Alto’s poorer neighbor — a place to blow through fast while gunfire lit up the darkness.
Today, that sense of horror is gone from the city of 29,377, and there appear to be two reasons for it. One is a sustained, years-long push by police, community leaders and residents to put aside entrenched hostilities and work together, and the other is an economic upswing that finally surged over East Palo Alto’s borders.
Bay Area’s biggest drop
The result was clear last week when the FBI’s annual national crime report showed that violent crime plummeted 65 percent in East Palo Alto from 2013 to 2014 — the biggest such drop in the Bay Area.

Gentrification is my guess why crime is down. This real estate is inherently very valuable for obvious reasons.
two reasons .
Those of us who remember when a referendum to rename the city Nairobi barely lost(~1970)the city was all black. Now it is 65% Hispanic, 10% Asian, and 15% black. That is the third reason.
Obviously, there’s been a black exodus.
Other nearly communities will soon be affected by these same blacks however.
No net gain.
“Obviously, there’s been a black exodus.

A lot of these Blacks have probably moved to areas that are already written off by most reasonable people, such as the South Side of Chicago, or the Mississippi Delta. So there is a net gain here, albeit one that primarily benefits Hispanics & Asians, rather than Whites (still beneficial to those Whites who live near East Palo Alto, however, since Blacks used to often go over into Palo Alto proper, Menlo Park, and Atherton, in order to commit their acts of criminality).
We used to refer to East Palo Alto as EPA, and it was always funny to ask people what EPA spells backwards ie., APE. Yeah, I know that’s racist, but its funny as Hell, too.

Do you live in Silicon Valley?
“Do you live in Silicon Valley?”
Not since 2011, but yeah, I spent most of my life there.
I remember riding the old No. 6a Samtrans bus (I think it was the 6a); It stopped at a variety of more or less civilizaed places, but the end of the line, far from all the other stops, was EPA. You always had to make sure you got off in time, or you would end up having to wait for a half-hour or so at the East Pali bus-stop, which was adjacent to a mostly boarded up strip-mall.
A drop of 65 per cent in violent crime between 2013 and 2014 raises two questions (despite its reflecting a happy real change):
1. What kind of statistical oddity or rare event (e.g. something massive in 2013) has contributed to a most improbable picture of improvement?
2. Is there a critical mass effect whereby the black or other gangs just couldn’t do what gangs are meant to do when criminal A moved to Chicago, criminal B got married and was put off his game, criminal C was killed, criminal D was jailed….?
“(still beneficial to those Whites who live near East Palo Alto, however,”
I heard Mark Zuckerberg’s home is within walking distance of the East Palo Alto border. But a multi-billionaire like him will have the most expensive and most advanced home security in the world, so it will not be a easy walk in the park for any Black or Mestizo burglar from East Palo Alto to successfully break into his home and burglarize it. Mark Zuckerberg has the bugatti veyron of home security systems.
Negroes arent going to Chicago. Theyre trying to get them out of there. Riverside, San Bernadino, and the Central Valley be getting more vibrant.

Sacramento is also getting a lot of Blacks who are being priced out of The Bay Area. That is why Sacramento has a higher percentage of Blacks than most Bay Area cities.
EPA did what Unz wants to do to America, replace the voters with a new, more compliant set of voters.
Blacks didn’t work, hispanics do, so they moved to EPA where it was cheap and forced the blacks out.
I used to live near there. NO ONE ever talks about it.
I know East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park relatively well as i live nearby.
The Mexicans have taken over east Paly, as it is known. Ditto east Menlo Park. Blacks, many of whom have owned their own houses have cashed in their chips and gone east and south. Mexicans have also made it clear that Blacks should leave.
I could not get the whole article, so what I have to say is without having read the piece.
Crime is down, despite mexican gangs, etc. However, like Willie Horton was it? when asked why he robbed banks, he said cuz that is where the money is.
So the mexer burglers hit Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Virtually every day in the Daily Post of Palo Alto (not on line) mexican crime is to be seen, usually burglary and sex crimes…usually child molestation ( better than black crime of home invasion and robbery and rape).
The cops know the most vulnerable neighborhoods, those that are nearby arterials that provide quick access to the freeway, hi way 101.
Zuck by the way lives in Old Palo Alto, which is snuggled into the center of town, and therefore pretty safe.
‘Tree line streets’…that is a good one. leafy suburbs . ha.
Now Facebook and other techie firms are locating in East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park (actually part of the city of Menlo Park) and the Mexicans are under greater pressure to move out cuz of gentrification. The techies are everywhere around here and many commute to the city (SF) and google runs buses for them.
Nevertheless, the freeways are clogged in the am going south to Silicon Valley and in the pm going north.to SF, so Redwood city (next to Palo Alto and Menlo Park and Atherton (rich man’s town ) which is now 40% mexican is attracting the techies and mexicans thus may follow the blacks east across the bay to Fremont and Union City and Hayward…already the home of mostly Indians, Arab, Afghanis and various other non-white immigrants. So we may see some race conflict there as the mexers move in..
Mexican families in Redwood City rent houses with a family in each bedroom, as well as the garage. White working class folks on the Peninsula are a vanishing species. What used to be working class homes 40 years ago are now more than a million bucks. Silicon Valley. Redwood City is fast following suit. O, San Mateo County (from SF to Palo Alto) is building a nice new jail for the Mexicans.
So, knowing the SF Chronicle as a kind of joke, liberal unto death-of-Reason, the article is probably just flab and wishful thinking.

” mexican crime is to be seen, usually burglary and sex crimes…usually child molestation ( better than black crime of home invasion and robbery and rape).”
Why is burglary and rape better when it is committed by Mexicans instead of Blacks?
