Republican Senator Tom Cotton has recently stated that opposing foreign wars is a form of bigotry against Jews.

This accusation was aimed at a new Washington think-tank, The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, which is dedicated to criticizing American military engagements abroad.

The Quincy Institute brings together a number of Realist and anti-interventionist academics. This organization has been received with suspicion in the anti-war community due to the fact that it is financed by neo-liberal plutocrats like the Kochs and George Soros.

Currently, the establishment foreign policy debate in Washington is composed of left-wing interventionists, who support attacking other countries on humanitarian grounds, and neo-con hawks, who want the same thing but in the name of national security. The hot potato of pointless aggression has been passed back and fourth between the administrations of Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama, and now Trump, which has culminated in directly and indirectly killing millions of innocent people, provoking mass destabilizing migration into Europe, and wasting trillions of dollars.

Record numbers of Americans in both parties have had enough. Even a majority of Republican voters now oppose these US military entanglements.

Several of the scholars employed by the think-tank have been openly critical of Israel and the Jewish lobby, including but not limited to John Mearsheimer, Lawrence Wilkerson, Paul Pillar, Chas Freeman, Eli Clifton, and the institute’s president Andrew J. Bacevich. Jewish control of US foreign policy is not a hateful conspiracy theory, it is widely accepted among experts who both support and oppose our nation’s wars for Israel.

The Quincy Institute looks great on paper, so what’s the catch and why are billionaire globalists funding it?

According to a statement by Bacevich, the Quincy Institute will be going out of its way to avoid talk of Israel or Jewish political money. This makes their endeavor pointless, as it does not discuss the mechanisms of how US foreign policy is formulated, and thus cannot effect it. This result is the corraling and muffling of the very scholars they are hiring for input, leading to controlled opposition.

Plutocracy has completely corrupted our government’s policies. In Washington, think-tanks providing intellectual rational for the GOP’s policies are predominately libertarian on culture and economics, while Israel-first on the geopolitical front, despite the fact that only 11% of Americans consider themselves to be Libertarians and an even smaller number think US troops should die for Israel’s Middle Eastern ambitions.

The large sums of money flushed into the coffers of these “experts” and pressure groups by high finance and corporate America gives them the power to unilaterally veto what the public consistently votes for and wants on foreign policy, immigration, social policy and economics, leading to the current crisis of representation.

The Quincy Institute is probably better than nothing, but it is also a reaction to rising popular anger. Koch and especially Soros, no stranger to international meddling and destabilization, are providing a safe steam valve for it.

  1. Republican Senator Tom Cotton has recently stated that opposing foreign wars is a form of bigotry against Jews.

So this is a confession of who the US is fighting its wars for.

Tom Cotton is a boot licker for the Jews and unabashedly supports anything they do. He is a product of the same hillbilly state as Bill Clinton

  3. ‘Republican Senator Tom Cotton has recently stated that opposing foreign wars is a form of bigotry against Jews.’

    Simply unbelievable.

As brainless as the NYT series on slavery or Newt Gingrich’s past claim, “You know, there’s no such thing as a Palestinian.”

A claim Gingrich made repeatedly in speeches after receiving nearly 20 million dollars from Mr Adelson to advance his efforts towards the Republican presidential nomination.

Truly, this stuff is as bad as Pravda in 1959.

  4. melpol says:

Funneling American foreign policy through Israel is the standard. Acceptance by Israel as being used as a scapegoat has little opposition among its leaders. But Jew haters are attempting to remove Israel from the Middle-East. If that happens the US will confess its attempts at Hegemony and go it alone.

  5. “and thus cannot effect it” should read, “cannot affect it”

Months ago, when I first heard about the Koch Bros. and Soros teaming up to fund a new ‘anti-interventionist’ think-tank, that was the first thought that entered my mind: controlled opposition. The whole thing reminds me of The Intercept, which was founded (it is now clear) by Soros-acolyte Pierre Omidhyar in order to bottleneck the Snowden files. That’s what these people are doing: they’re co-opting the few remaining realists in academia, primarily to prevent them from speaking any more truth to power. (In retrospect, it’s astounding that Mearsheimer & Walt got their book published in the first place!)

Fortunately, we have The Unz Review — our very own little think-tank on line!

He was just quoting Golda Meir. That’s now a standard Israeli trope: they’re not really Palestinians, just ‘misplaced’ Jordanians.

If you go back to the issue of Time which reported on the Yom Kippur war, you’ll probably be very confused until you realize that “Palestinian” did not refer to Arabs.  It was synonymous with Israeli Jews.

“A first-term senator, Cotton was elected in 2014 with $8.1 million in backing from the Koch brothers.” https://jewishinsider.com/2020/01/tom-cotton-accuses-a-koch-and-soros-backed-think-tank-of-fomenting-antisemitism/

The machine ( Jewish insider ) doesn’t recall that Cotton has received more from Kristol ‘s organization .

    @Mr. Rational

Entire Israeli – Jewish thing is confusing
Criticizing Israel is anti Semitism which is a crime .
Criticizing Iran or Russia or China is not is not a crime .

Repeating Jewish history that they don’t like to hear is anti Semitism. Reminding Jewish behaviors is anti Semitic .

Finding common ground in values or sufferings or behaviors with Jewish enemies is anti Semitic.
Praising Jewish enemy’s praiseworthy aspect is anti Semitism .

Crimes dot the landscape outside the sand box People have be wary and suspicious, almost paralyzed with paranoid thought – are we hurting the Jewish understanding ??

    Anti war is antisemite
Occupy Wall Street is anti Semite
Using word like Neocon or Globalist is antisemite

    . .

Palestine has been mentioned repeatedly throughout centuries .
Phonecian , Phlistine – words are rampant that describe villages cities outposts in Cannan .
    Rome used the word .
Zionist wanted “ Palestine “ not Israel in 1898.

Now it makes sense of killing of Suleimani. These are some of the senators who promised Trump helping out of impeachment crisis if he and if he agreed to kill Suleimania

No conspiracy theory .That’s what WSJ reported quoting president.

It helps to have a compromised politician . The untainted never rises or if rises get killed.

  12. renfro says:

”According to a statement by Bacevich, the Quincy Institute will be going out of its way to avoid talk of Israel or Jewish political money.”

Thats not exactly what he said…..he said:
”Pressed by the New Yorker about the historic relationship between isolationism and anti-Semitism, Bacevich—who himself has argued that the goal of the America First Committee had an “honorable” purpose and that it “did not oppose Jews”—conceded that there were anti-Semites among the isolationists of old but rejected the notion that “anybody who is an anti-interventionist somehow is a racist.”
Though Bacevich said that Israel and American Jews would not be a focus of his organization, Quincy expert Eli Clifton took up the matter with the Nation earlier this month, suggesting that the hawkish think tank Foundation for the Defense of Democracies was originally a mouthpiece for the Israeli government and has insinuated itself into the American bureaucracy.
Asked whether the Quincy Institute shares that view, Bacevich said, “I guess if you are interested in Eli Clifton’s views it would make sense to contact Eli Clifton.” He did not respond to questions about whether the Quincy Institute shares or stands behind the other statements from its experts and scholars featured in this report.”

This result is the corraling and muffling of the very scholars they are hiring for input, leading to controlled opposition

So far they havent restraned their Israel and lobby critics like Lawrence Wilkerson, Paul Pillar, Eli Clifton, Chas Freeman,

That said Bacevich is the wrong person to head up the Quincy Inst….he’s always been a self promoter first and foremost and promoted himself as a ‘historian’ ..which he isn’t. He’s about equal to the ‘go along to get along for the pay check pundits”.
They need to find some one else.

Months ago, when I first heard about the Koch Bros. and Soros teaming up to fund a new ‘anti-interventionist’ think-tank, that was the first thought that entered my mind: controlled opposition.

The first thing that entered my mind was DC insider Steve Clemons, (The Washington Note) in 2004 writing a piece about how WASP decedent’s had abdicated their role in service to the government . He implied that there were rumblings and conversation among some non Jewish money men and industrial billionaires that feared the US was being undermined by the wrong influences and their war mongering and that it would lead to a eventual crisis and the effect on America could possibly cause then to lose their own home ground financial empires.

When I look at Quincy’s makeup and see a token academic like Bacevich, hired for not stepping on any ones toes, look at the stable of writers who are well known Israel and lobby critics, look at the inclusion of Soros, see two no war with Iran writers…..it looks to me like a land mine strip that has been cleared to let some major truths about Israel’s part in US wars , some truths about other pro war influences….slip thru.

It reminds me of the way W&M wrote ‘The Israel lobby”….the book was a bomb thrown at the lobbies and Israel but defused enough not to indict The Tribe as a whole and be ripped as anti semitic…althought it was by the usual Jews it still hit the best sellers

Anyway that’s my thought….I think some American – American billionaires are seeing the US go to hell in a hand basket that would take their business empires down with it.

‘He was just quoting Golda Meir. That’s now a standard Israeli trope: they’re not really Palestinians, just ‘misplaced’ Jordanians.’

I suppose the idea is that in the fullness of time, the idea is that the Jordanians in turn will just be ‘misplaced Saudis.’

  16. nsa says:

“how WASP decedents had abdicated there role……..”
Between 1880 and 1920, whole ostjuden shtetls relocated to Amelika. The first WASP to publicly call attention to this invasion and all its implications was the WASP industrialist, Henry Ford, who decided to do something about it. Ole Henry bought himself a newspaper and attacked jew finance and banking, and even made an effort to prevent a favorite jew project, WW1. The jew stomped the WASP, Ford, 6″ below the dirt line and the jew got his world war. This defeat was duly noticed by the cowardly WASP elite who decided to take the jew into the elite’s inner sanctum as a junior partner……a distasteful necessity. By the 1960s, the jew takeover of government, media, and entertainment was near complete, making the WASP a very junior partner. By the year 2000, the WASP had no say at all ….went from junior partner to making the coffee and cleaning the toilets. The takeover is now complete. This November, the masses of TV addicted asses will be treated to a pillow fight to the death between a crypto-jew, Trumpstein, and a real jew, Bernie or Bloomie. Enjoy…….

Apparently this is exactly what happened. This is how Americans lost America. And I estimate over 99 percent of Americans have no clue about it. But probably over 90% know who won the Superbowl last night. (I don’t.)

I have heard that one of the founding fathers described the new American nation as, “A democracy – if you can keep it.” Apparently we couldn’t keep it.

  19. The America First Committee of 1940 was organized to resist FDR’s scheming to draw the United States into conflict with Germany. Its centers were the campuses of Yale and Harvard. The intelligentsia of the generation that had come of age after the debacle of the Great War refused to allow their government to sacrifice their lives as it had their fathers’, in Washington’s relentless drive for global supremacy.

And these were hardly alienated student radicals. Among their number were future Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, Gerald Ford, Sergeant Shriver, and John F. Kennedy and his brother Joseph. In a foreshadowing of the massive antiwar protests of the 1960s, thousands of students demonstrated on campuses nationwide in 1940 in support of non-intervention in Europe’s latest bloody power struggle. They said that as Britain chose so rashly to declare a second European war, so she must bear the burden of her folly. American lives and money must not be committed again to rescue the decrepit empire as we did with such disastrous results in 1917. In a powerful editorial, the Harvard Crimson newspaper stated, “we refuse to fight another balance of power war.” Future U.S. Ambassador Kingman Brewster, then chairman of the Yale Daily News, in an editorial headlined “We Stand Here”, wrote that Americans will “take our chances on this side of the Atlantic … because at least it offers a chance for the maintenance of all the things we care about in America.”

The America Firsters honored the moral principle enunciated by Thomas Jefferson in his Second Inaugural Address, “You will do what is right, leaving the people of Europe to act their follies and crimes among themselves, while we pursue in good faith the paths of peace and prosperity”.

But FDR’s provocations of Japan had their desired result in 1941, a preemptive Japanese strike on U.S. forces massing against them in the Pacific. Homeland resistance collapsed in the surge of enraged reaction to what was sold to the American public as “infamous” aggression, and mankind’s most destructive, global war was on.

  20. Tom Cotton is a harbinger of things to come. By identifying anti-war activities with anti-Semitism, the Senator is dividing America into those who will support endless wars for Israel and those filthy anti-Semites, that refuse to fight and die for Israel.

Richard Boyd Barrett reads out shocking statements made recently by Israeli government ministers. These words come in the wake of the 2014 assault on Gaza which saw over 2100 Palestinians killed, 10,000 injured and 100,000 made homeless. Of those killed, over 500 were children – children whom the current Israeli Justice Minister, Ayelet Shaked, refers to as “snakes”.

That hack Cotton, like so much of Knesset West–er, the U.S. Congress–is bought-and-paid-for by AIPAC.
