The FBI, ATF, Department of Homeland Security, and Customs and Border Patrol orchestrated a joint operation to arrest a Southern California man for buying a completely legal solvent trap on the internet after finding books in his house suggesting he might harbor “racist” beliefs.

According to court documents obtained by National Justice, Department of Homeland Security agent Jon Dellinger’s team intercepted an international package intended for 20-year-old Matthew Brian Thibodeau, an Imperial, California resident.

Inside the package was a Chinese produced solvent trap purchased off Ali Baba, an item used to clean firearms that the ATF has publicly ruled is entirely legal. Solvent traps are freely available for purchase online and at gun shops in the United States. The product only become illegal when it is altered by a gunsmith to function as a suppressor.

Nevertheless, DHS agents ignored this and opened up an investigation in Thibodeau. They went undercover and proceeded to deliver the parcel.

After confirming Thibodeau’s identity, the DHS’ Homeland Security Investigations Imperial Valley Border Enforcement Security Task Force (IVBEST) then executed a search warrant at his home. The use of IVBEST in this capacity is highly unusual, as the unit is primarily tasked with border control and international criminal syndicates.

During the search, the solvent trap was found in a desk in its original condition (unaltered), along with a number of legally owned firearms.

According to SA Dellinger, they then transported Thibodeau to an interrogation room where he held that the item was intended solely for cleaning his firearms. In his statement, he made clear that he had painstakingly researched the legality of the item to comply with federal regulations. The agents gave him a citation for a suppressor anyway and released him without incident.

The case then gets even stranger. According to Dellinger, they then learned from the FBI that Thibodeau had posted “white nationalist” content on the internet.

The FBI apparently had visited Thibodeau months prior to his arrest to question him about political materials he was posting online. The man used his right to remain silent and refused to speak to them.

SA Dellinger then contacted the US Attorney’s office and obtained another search warrant, this time for Thibodeau’s electronics and any political literature “related to white nationalists.”

It’s highly unlikely that Dellinger’s complaint is accurate. Judging from the mobilization of so many federal resources for what amounts to buying a legal solvent trap, it’s more plausible that Thibodeau’s mail was already under surveillance and the federal government doesn’t want the public or judge to know.

According to a report by the Associated Press, the agents confiscated personal notebooks expressing “racist” ideas, a t-shirt they say has a Nazi logo on it, and a copy of the Turner Diaries, a relatively common fantasy novel.

Federal authorities are now labeling Thibodeau a “domestic terrorist” based solely on the books they found on his shelf. He is being charged twice for the same alleged crime, under California state law and federal law.

They are now attempting to get a judge to give them permission to comb through his electronics using their characterization of what his political views may be as probable cause.

So far, the case has been relatively inactive, with the most recent entry being from March 29th. In this decision, Judge Ruth Bermudez Montenegro reprimanded the US Attorney’s office for withholding exculpatory evidence from Thibodeau’s defense.

The US Attorney and DHS’ decision to get the Associated Press to talk about this arrest appears to be intended to bully the judge into ruling in their favor. Generally speaking, the political content of books in a suspects possession do not meet the criteria for probable cause.

In an age of record immigration and international criminal syndicates launching ransomware attacks that have led to a national fuel shortage, Alejandro Mayorkas is using DHS and its international crime investigation unit to bully a 20-year-old American citizen for beliefs he personally disagrees with.

My shelves are FILLED with books by Racists, the same way they’re filled with books by Commies.

You MUST read the foundational books by Thinkers you disagree with (e.g., A. Hitler) in order to get past the lies their opponents spread. The ENTIRE concept of “being an Adult” is that YOU can tell the difference between dog do-do and Shinola.

Churchill and Roosevelt were FUNDAMENTALLY evil people who started and kept running the most vicious and murderous war in the history of humanity. And the ENTIRE purpose of their war was to destroy Germany as a country and murder German women and children in their beds. Keep in mind that THE reason Roosevelt started the Manhattan Project was to produce a weapon that could COMPLETELY destroy a GERMAN city (i.e., Berlin), starting with the women and children. That it, the A-bomb was NEVER seen as a way to stop the production of German tanks, etc. The Americans were REALLY mad when those evil Germans SURRENDERED before the first A-bomb was ready to go… If you don’t believe that, by all means READ MORE BOOKS

Dems are setting up a totalitarian police state. They are even going after dedicated anti-racists like THREE PERCENTERS and OATH KEEPERS as long as they see some connection to the Trump ecosphere. The pending legislation to put elections under centralized federal control is another sign along with the current political purge of the military and the growing movement to federalize all police.

I don’t know that they’d be any better if they were actually forced to depend 100% upon taxpayer funds, but the out-of-control money printer certainly helps them to ignore taxpayers’ wishes even more than ever before.

I couldn’t agree more that the whole range of unpopular books are the ones we should preserve for posterity. But I have one quibble. Were Roosevelt and Churchill actually evil? I doubt it.

I’ve been trying to talk my daughter out of the “everyone who i disagree with is Hitler” mentality on the basis that, whatever his faults, Hitler was a patriot who wanted to oppose the Bolsheviks and restore his country to prosperity. I would view the other leaders during that time in the same light. You could view them all as evil, or you could look at them as humans engaged in getting the best they thought they could for their respective countries. Looked at that way, Roosevelt and Churchill were no more or less evil than Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler.

In any case, demonizing one’s opponent is a time worn trick that sober minds need to consider. Even most of the leftist woke types in America today are just making decisions based on the junk thinking which their abused minds have been fed by the culture, the public schools, and in some cases, their parents.

  8. I had to look up what a solvent trap is. I’d never heard of it before.

It sure looks like an end run around a silencer, but then we should all have easy access to real silencers if we want them. All gun laws violate the 2nd Amendment.

I saw a video of a guy who used an automotive oil filter as a pistol silencer. Worked perfectly and after X shots, just throw it away and get another oil filter. Sure beats maintaining a real silencer.

Anyone with a reasonable lathe can fashion the barrel to oil filter coupling.

BLM supporters and antifa are posting all kinds of online content advocating and/or celebrating violence against police, white people and right of center Americans but has the FBI ever visited any of them? I think we know the answer.

Thibodeau was smart in not talking to the FBI. No good can come of it and they are usually trying to get you to misremember some slight detail(s) so they can then charge you with lying to them.

The DHS and other federal agencies are now nullifying the first amendment. Assuming there isn’t information we aren’t aware of he broke no laws and was being illegally monitored by federal authorities for politically incorrect speech.

This is a case of pre-crime whereby Thibodeau was judged guilty because he harbored pro-white beliefs and owned firearms. Apparently this is where we are in 2021.

    Define “Evil”.
Of course they were not evil merely money chasing pawns of financial elites who were desperate to maintain control of world trade and therefore profits.

“We will force this war upon Hitler, if he wants it or not.” —
    Winston Churchill (1936 broadcast)

“Germany becomes too powerful. We have to crush it.” —
Winston Churchill (November 1936 speaking to US – General Robert E. Wood)

“This war is an English war and its goal is the destruction of Germany.” —
Winston Churchill (- Autumn 1939 broadcast)

“Germany must be handed over to Jewry and the Germans shall be scattered amongst the peoples of the world.”
Lionel de Rothschild, scion of the Rothschild clan, demand on October 22, 1939 to John Colville, Winson Churchill’s secretary.

“The war wasn’t only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn’t want to.” —
Winston Churchill to Truman (Fultun, USA March 1946)

“Germany’s unforgivable crime before WW2 was its attempt to loosen its economy out of the world trade system and to build up an independent exchange system from which the world-finance couldn’t profit anymore. …We butchered the wrong pig.” —
Winston Churchill (The Second World War – Bern, 1960)

Churchill’s goal was to protect British industry and Roosevelt’s was to enslave the west through debt to the US. Both acting on instructions from :

“The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes.”
Felix Frankfurter (1882-1965), US Supreme Court Justice, (1939)

“So you see, my dear Coningsby, that the world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes. ”
    – Benjamin Disraeli, British Prime Minister
    (1804-1881)

“There is something behind the Throne greater than the King himself.”
    Sir William Pitt (1708-78),

No doubt but I might say money chasing partners rather than “pawns.”

This was fresh in my mind because I just finished listening to a video recording of David Irving talking about his book Churchill’s War. Drunken, profligate Winston would have done the bidding of anyone willing to pay his debts.

Solvent trap has been code for silencers since forever.

It’s not so much for violence as it is for farmers who want to pop off their weapons in their backyard without their neighbour calling the sheriff to complain about the obvious lack of safety in firearm discharges.

  16. So now it is illegal to read?

  17. The FBI, DHS, ATF, CIA, aka (((alphabets))) ad nauseam, are themselves state sponsored foreign and domestic terrorist organizations. How else do you describe Gestopo/Stasi/kgb tactics used against US citizens?

Nothing unsafe about shooting in your backyard or back 40 as long as you have a proper backstop.

Maybe trying to blackmail him into being a mole for them, like they did Randy Weaver 30 years ago?

    Bingo!

And even if that’s not the case, and of course it might not be, it’s still a point well worth considering. The other possibility is that they are what I call Coxing him (Coxing as opposed to Doxing).

The Cox in Coxing comes from Schaeffer Cox and what The FBI did to that young man. Awful! The FBI = Framed By Investigators

Proof, if yet more proof were still needed, that Trump was FOS was that he didn’t even konw who Schaeffer Cox is, let alone pardon him. On the other hand, Trump’s far from alone in that department. Otherwise excellent sites like VDARE and The Occidental Observer doesn’t even seem to know or care about that case. And I think about that.

Then again, if the USA was a serious country, we wouldn’t know who Schaeffer Cox is because what happened to him wouldn’t have happened in the first place.

So, either they’re Coxing this guy or Coaxing him (to be an informant). Either way, the USA has fast devolved into a weird and creepy combination between 1960’s East Germany and 1970’s Latin America. In short, it’s the poster child of Shithole countries.

Only if you think targeting civilian non-combatants with deadly weapons is evil.

The George Floyd riots get stopped by night two if snipers kill 3 the first night in a handful of major cities in a couple of loactions. The rioters would have been afraid to venture out. The government would like to be able to gin up riots whenever they feel like punishing the populace and reminding them who is in charge, so they dont like silencers.

  24. Operating just like the communist commissars in the old Soviet Union. This is what we have come to. I remember attending the Soviet Exhibition in Los Angeles as a young man back in 1977, I believe it was. I went with my best friend at the time and I remember how the young Russians looked as they greeted American visitors at the door of the Convention Center..

The men had on snazzy suits and the women wonderful dresses. As they explained how the Soviet Union saved the world from the Nazi’s during WW 2, many Americans began to challenge them. They just smiled and listened to their pleas. How different the Americans of that time were, ready to fight a bit for what they did not agree with. Now, most won’t even fight for their freedoms being violated on an almost daily basis.

There used to be a lot of stuff on his case. But it’s all been scrubbed from the Internet.

On the first page of a search for him there’s something from Bill Fulton about how he “took down” Schaeffer Cox. A better description would be how he framed him.

I hate to say it but it’s true, the sooner this country falls apart the better.

Yep. Lots of folks feel that way. Doesn’t look like they’ll have to wait too long.
