I write: “David Irving had never planned to contest the so-called Holocaust at his trial” and you respond: “What he had planned was that Penguin Books should withdraw Lipstadt’s book (which had only sold a couple thousand copies) from circulation, putting himself in the role of the censor and making Lipstadt the champion of a free press.”

My response: I doubt if this was David Irving’s motive. Do you have any evidence that Irving ever said this was his motive?

David Irving in his opening address at the trial claimed that his career had been torpedoed by the defendants. Irving said: “By virtue of the activities of the Defendants, in particular of the second Defendant, and of those who funded her and guided her hand, I have since 1996 seen one fearful publisher after another falling away from me, declining to reprint my works, refusing to accept new commissions and turning their back on me when I approach.” Irving claimed this had been done as “part of an organized international endeavor.” (Source: Lipstadt, Deborah E., History on Trial: My Day in Court with David Irving, New York: HarperCollins Publishers Inc., 2005, p. 80).

As I stated in a previous comment regarding David Irving, the harassment campaign against him continued after he lost his libel suit. For example, Irving spent over a year in jail in Austria from 2005-2006 for publicly expressing his views on the so-called Holocaust. Publishers and bookstore owners are still afraid to publish and sell his books for fear of the backlash from Jewish organizations. Of course, some people will still call you an anti-Semite for mentioning these facts; they claim that Jewish groups and organizations could not possibly have such power. Unfortunately, as David Irving made clear in his lawsuit, Jewish groups and organizations do have such power.

Critics of David Irving sometimes emphasize that Irving’s libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt put Lipstadt in great financial peril. However, Deborah Lipstadt’s book History on Trial reveals how easy it was for her to raise money for her defense.

The president of Emory University and the Board of Trustees allocated $25,000 for Deborah Lipstadt’s defense. Leslie Wexner, a wealthy Jewish retailer, told Deborah Lipstadt that he would give whatever it takes for her defense. Wexner’s only prerequisite was that Lipstadt must hire the best defense counsel possible. Wexner committed $200,000 to Lipstadt’s defense after determining she was hiring top-notch attorneys who would mount an aggressive defense. Deborah Lipstadt writes that a massive outpouring of funds was contributed by wealthy Jewish donors:

“Soon a collaboration developed between Wexner and Steven Spielberg, whose own Shoah Foundation was deeply engaged in taking survivors’ testimonies. This collaboration resulted in the effective solicitation of a number of $100,000 dollar contributors. Bill Lowenberg, a survivor who lived in San Francisco, whose daughter—a participant in the Wexner programs—had briefed him on the case, called [Rabbi Herbert] Friedman. He said he would raise 20% of the costs and began to contact members of the Bay Area Jewish community. Ernie Michel, a survivor who lived in New York, took out his Rolodex and began to call other survivors. Other people pitched in to help. All of this was done quietly and without any publicity or fanfare…” (Source: Ibid.).

Lipstadt writes that Friedman asked David Harris, executive director of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), to house a defense fund. The committee’s board agreed and then voted to make a major contribution to the fund. The Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Center stepped forward to contribute. The AJC’s Harris assigned Ken Stern—the organization’s specialist on antisemitism and extremism—to assist me in any way he could. Ken, a lawyer, immediately established contact with Anthony and James. In an unprecedented display of organizational restraint, none of these organizations publicized what they were doing. Within weeks other contributions began to arrive. One person quietly called another. Some of the donations were substantial; many were quite small. Most came from Jews. Some came from non-Jews. I did not solicit funds. Wexner had stressed in no uncertain terms, “Our job is to ensure that you have the means to fight. Your job is to fight.” When someone called the Wexners to suggest that I follow a particular strategy, they were told in no uncertain terms, “It’s between Deborah and her lawyers. She has the best. Let them do their job.” (Source: Ibid., p. 39).

So, within a few weeks, without publicity or any significant work on her part, Deborah Lipstadt had the millions of dollars needed to hire a top-notch defense team. Lipstadt adds the names Michael Berenbaum, Phyllis Cook, Robert Goodkind, Miles Lehrman and Bruce Soll as additional people who helped in the drive to create a fund for her defense. Even if Irving had somehow won his lawsuit, Lipstadt was never in financial danger. Any financial damages awarded to Irving by the trial judge could have been easily paid by Lipstadt’s numerous wealthy financial donors.

WHERE are the MOUNTAINS of BONES? Where did they get all the FUEL from for the crematoriums? Where did they get all of the TIME to do all this? Where is the PROOF that ANY “gas chambers” ever existed?

I just turned 74 years of age and never served in the military. After graduating from high school in 1969, I registered with Selective Service. I had a college deferment until I dropped out of college and then received the classification of “1A.” The lottery was implemented and the first year I had a very high number. The next year I received a low number and I had made up my mind that if I was called, I would enlist in either the Navy or Air Force, just to maximize my chances of staying alive. That was my plan, anyway.

Our president at the time, Richard Nixon, then concluded our involvement in Vietnam; the ONLY good thing that he ever did, in my opinion.

In my older years, I have become very much anti-war and support the Antiwar.com website, as well as the Vietnam Veterans Against the War organization. In years past, I have attended air shows but I will NEVER attend another one, as, in my opinion, they only serve to glorify war and killing.

Having said that, at the time I wrote my comment I was thinking that (and as with all wars), quite a few of the combat soldiers engaged in battle in the early years – those fighting on both sides (who would go on to sacrifice their lives or be maimed), were still 18-21 year olds.
So they were still ‘boys’ in my estimation.

The soldiers of the WWII German Wehrmacht were arguably the most deserving of being referred to as men, as any in modern times.
Their Herculean achievements in that war will be spoken about for the next 100 generations or more.

Reagan was suckered into sending manufacturing jobs abroad by short-term “thinkers” and converting America into a Service (and Rentier, Zero Sum) Economy. The FIRE Economy (finance, insurance, and real estate) went from 3% of the US economy to ~30%. The American companies who went Global, saved pennies on the dollar for Labor costs, but avoided high corporate taxes in the US by moving their companies abroad. The business leaders argued that Management not industrial production was the key to business success, and many golden parachutes deployed in the process before the inevitable fallout.

The Clintons sold out to the Chinese for trivial campaign donations (Chinagate). While high end technologies and important and military industrial secrets had been protected from off-shoring, Clinton gave China permanent free trade status and dropped most barriers against offshoring high tech manufacturing and jobs, throwing away innovation and American ingenuity. Clinton claimed China was a bulwark against Russia (that aged well). All the US needed was the managerial class (the people who donated to political campaigns). Lots of money was made under Clinton (and Reagan) at the cost of the US’s future.

What political restrictions when for years and years and years the US gov was LYING to the citizens about US actual involvement??? The US even bombed and ground invaded Cambodia and the US public didn’t know. Of course because they didn’t want Americans to realize Laos and Cambodia were helping North Vietnam and the Vietcong because they saw Americans as imperialists.

Also the Soviets did the OVERWHELMING majority of the fight against the Nazis. Yes the US supplied the Soviets with lots of equipment through Lend lease – but the VAST MAJORITY of the fighting was done by the Soviets. I realized many Americans even though the US Army were the ones who liberated the first concentration camps. False. That was the Soviets.

If the truth about the USS Liberty has been presented to you and you still don’t see Israel as your enemy, then you don’t deserve to live in America.

Phil, Thanks for this post. Pretty much a ‘roll call’ of the usual complaints we might level at our ‘Hebrew’ brethren for their wicked, wicked ways. However given the reluctance of the vast majority of people to embrace these reality checks and respond in kind, so they must be repeated ad nauseum. What will it take? Can’t say for sure, but I’ll pick up on this theme shortly.

As for the USS Liberty, this is a story that’s been dear to my heart as a writer and researcher for some time, being amongst other things one of America’s worst best kept dirty secrets, so many of which it needs be said ‘coincidentally’ involve a certain Middle Eastern country which touts itself as the former’s most loyal, trusted, useful ally blah, blah, blah.

Worth noting is that even one of Australia’s former Prime Ministers Malcolm Fraser—who was our defence minister at that time (1967), and would’ve been in the know—revealed in his dotage about ten years ago his personal belief that Israel deliberately attacked the Liberty, and that it was covered up at the highest levels. This type of admission—belated as it may have been, and coming from a former leader of a nation which itself could with far more credibility claim bragging rights (albeit somewhat dubious) to being America’s “most loyal, trusted, useful ally” was itself shocking. (Not unexpectedly, Fraser’s true confessions mo inevitably attracted the ire and righteous indignation of Australia’s Jewish lobby; yes sadly we have ‘em too. As I’m wont to say, “hell hath no fury like an infuriated Jewry”.)

On a slightly different note, for what it is worth, my interest in this story was sparked by author Phil Nelson’s (now sadly deceased) work in exposing this war crime. Prior to Phil publishing his excellent book on the Liberty in 2017, I learned about this criminally tragic, and shame-filled episode via his earlier work exposing the lies and crimes of one Lyndon B Johnson (LBJ), America’s 36th president. LBJ—‘bar mitzvahed’ as America’s “first Jewish POTUS” by the way—had as you’ve indicated his grubby prints all over the Liberty crime scene, including the coverup. When time came to publishing his Liberty book, I worked with Phil in the lead up to its release to produce for posterity my own take on the attack. In any event, the resulting two parter (see links below) represents the results of that collaboration.

And now with Israel’s reputation (such as it be) seemingly collapsing faster than the Twin Towers on 9/11 in the wake of the latest iteration of its decades long Gaza Genocide Project, there’s no better time than the present to once again revisit the story of the fate of the Liberty. If in the current climate it brings a few more Americans to at least question their country’s fatal attraction to the Jewish state and the consequences of maintaining it—an “attraction” so described perhaps never being more evident nor portentous—then that can only be a good thing.

All of which is to say, for those who’ve yet to fully appreciate them, the Liberty narrative (the unofficial one that is) is another text book case study in the much touted ‘benefits’ to America of its one-sided affair with the Middle East’s “only democracy”. Not unlike might we say the JFK Thing and the 9/11 Thing, to name a couple of the big ones. A fatal attraction of sorts that given present events may well come complete with dire consequences for not just the US but the West and humanity as a whole.

If in this current milieu Americans can’t bring themselves to that all important critical mass awareness that this toxic relationship has facilitated the unmaking of America more than any other factor in its history, then I fear it will be too late. If it isn’t already that is. With incumbent POTUS Donald Trump arguably being the best “Jewish president” thus far, the signs are far from hopeful.

–Deport any person from USA who serves in any foreign country’s military service.
–Genocide trials for all American citizens serving in israel’s military–no exceptions.
–Genocide trials for all American public officials who approved sending American weapons to israel.

When I attended UC Berkeley back in the 70s, I lived in a student co-op. It was a communistic situation where everybody had to put in a certain number of hours a week to cook food and clean etc. No adults

Of course it was filled with The children of rich Jewish families from New York and Hollywood.

We ate communally and at least two or three times a week the jewish students would start in on the Greeks, that is fraternities and sororities. It was clear that they absolutely despised and at the same time envied all the goyim in the Greek system. They would always be complaining about how some rich fucking fraternity guy stared at them or bumped them or was arrogant or something like that. But it was all in their head — Greeks were oblivious to Jews. It wasn’t on their radar.

I used to go to some of the Greek parties because I studied or did sports with some of the frat guys in my classes. It was interesting that I never heard a single word about Jews when with fraternity and sorority students. They knew about the holocaust and they thought it was horrible. But there was absolutely no animosity towards Jews. But the Jews absolutely hated the blonde athletic healthy Greek kids, and complained about their privilege.

Now this is weird because a lot of the fraternity guys came from fairly poor blue-collar families I’m talking construction trucking farming, On the other hand most of the Jewish kids fathers were doctors lawyers, bankers, professors, stock market guys or big Hollywood execs. I thought it was really strange that all these rich privileged Jewish kids who were by the way mostly socialist or communist, were absolutely obsessed with the fraternity system. They hated them and One Jewish girl even told me that she despised and hated Germans and hoped that they would all die horrible deaths.

Jews are full of hate it’s their culture and their nature. It consumes them. Jews NEVER STOP COMPLAINING. And they have long memories they’re taught about all of their enemies going back 3000 years they obsess about the vengeance they will have upon all of their enemies, which apparently is anyone who is not Jewish.

Exactly WHAT can “I” do? I’ll tell you what I AM doing. I no longer have any accounts at any banks; I’ve been banking with Credit Unions for 30 years now. For a time (8-1/2 years) I also worked for Alcoa. It was at a factory in Beloit, Wisconsin. Beloit is just across the state line from the Rockford, Illinois (90 miles west of Chicago) area. The Alcoa factory manufactured aluminum wheels for GM, Ford, Chrysler and Honda cars & light trucks. I worked many years in the foundry, which had 30 low-pressure die-casting machines, made by Plume, in England.

Shortly before the factory closed up permanently, the company removed 2 of the die-casting machines. This was when they could not keep up with production requirements. We suspected that the machines were moved to China, where the Chinese would use these machines as “patterns,” for copying the designs and building new die-casting machines.

I was an electrician there and the ONLY reason why I worked there was because I couldn’t find any other job as an electrician at any of the local factories. I absolutely hated every minute, but stayed there, because the job paid well and had good benefits. It was a union factory – United Auto Workers representation.

I had heard “horror stories” about that place before I had even applied for a job there. The plant used to be called Reynolds, but now it was Alcoa. I had “hoped” that with the new name, things might be better. WRONG!

The purchase price of my residence was $295,000 and I made a down payment of $150,000 – that was CASH; money that I had EARNED by working as an industrial electrician, engaging in HONEST WORK. Where did the $145,000 that I borrowed come from? It came from NOWHERE it was just a number on someone’s computer screen – borrowed “money” (debt).

My next month’s payment will be $278.89 towards the principal and $481.14 IN INTEREST. That interest money is basically THEFT – money that was not earned by the mortgage company from doing honest work.

If, during the life of the mortgage, I miss a few payments, the mortgage company can foreclose on the house, take possession of it AND my $150,000 down payment. When they started out with NOTHING (except debt) to begin with. All legal. And what gives them the right to legally steal my money? The Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

I will be doing very little of the “tourist” things, but will concentrate on meeting many of my Swedish ham friends, learning about their beautiful country and of course, enjoying their EXCELLENT food.

Their food, unlike the food here in the USA, is NOT adulterated and they all know how to cook! I feel that I am somewhat knowledgeable concerning the “goings-on” in Sverige (Sweden). My father’s parents came to the USA from Sweden in the 1920s. Since becoming an amateur radio (ham radio) operator in 1981, I have had hundreds of contacts with Swedish ham radio operators. I have one Swedish ham friend that I have known for over 30 years. In the fall of 2019, I took a trip to Sweden and stayed with him and his wife for 3 weeks. He is slightly older than me and knows EXACTLY what has been and is going on in Sweden. He is a retired professional person, fluent in Swedish, English and German.

I have an older lady friend back in Illinois, whose deceased male friend was a ham radio operator. Both were fluent in the Swedish language. She also knows EXACTLY what has been and is going on in Sweden. She keeps up on the news there via mainstream and alternative news websites, as well as by staying in contact with her relatives there (she was born in Sweden).

Up until the “new age” politicians (mostly female) came into office there, Sweden’s socialist form of government worked very well for the majority of Swedish citizens. But in the last few years, Sweden has let into the country a large amount of Africans and Arabs and these groups are literally trashing the country. All because they were allowed to emigrate into Sweden by the politicians.

In my 3 weeks there, I travelled throughout central and southern Sweden. The people there are nothing but astonishing. Absolutely no “road rage” – everyone uses their turn signals, there is no “tail-gating” and ALL of the drivers are courteous to their fellow motorists, unlike here in the United States.

To say that I was impressed with the people of Sweden and their country would be an understatement. When it came time to come back to the United States, I did not want to come back. Sweden is infected with the same fraudulent and corrupt banking system as what we have here in the USA and in the rest of the so-called “civilized” world. There is BIG MONEY behind the problems that now face Seeden and, in my opinion, it is NOT because of their socialist form of government. Here is where we agree to disagree. I also detest the privatization of prisons. If I were “in charge,” the gov’t would be about 75% smaller. But I am vehemently against the privatization of “the commons,” such as lakes, rivers and parks. Speaking of parks, I just checked the cost of admission at the Sequoia National Park, in California – $20 for a carload of persons. Anyone who says that they can’t “afford” this might consider forgoing one a new tattoo, a piercing, a “nail treatment” or a wild hair coloring. The Sequoia trees are not found anywhere else in the world. So much for the “competition” argument.

I don’t know what their exact status is today, but in the past, the privatization of the Chicago Skyway and the Indiana toll road have been disasters – shoddy maintenance and higher than necessary tolls.

Again, I don’t know how things are today, but in years gone by, I have driven to California and back from northern Illinois – twice. The ONLY roads as bad or worse than Illinois roads were the roads in Oklahoma – Oklahoma also had toll roads. Having worked my entire life in northern Illinois, there was always intense “rivalry” between the citizens of Illinois and the citizens of Wisconsin.

The citizens of Wisconsin would rightly (in my opinion) “thumb their noses” at the citizens of Illinois. As soon as one crossed the border from Illinois into Wisconsin, the roads miraculously improved, and Wisconsin had NO toll roads. Taxes in Wisconsin are admittedly higher than in Illinois, but the quality of life was (and is) much better. Unlike in Illinois, the people of Wisconsin get rid of the politicians who turn out to be bad ones.

Two of the successes in the “government vs. privatization department” are the Tennessee Valley Authority and the city-owned cable TV & internet franchise in one of the larger cities here in Tennessee. I don’t know which city has the publicly owned utility, but the residents enjoy much more inexpensive cable TV and internet services than those provided by the for-profit supplier(s).

I agree with you on many things, but as I have stated here on Unz before, I believe that ALL roads lead to tyranny – capitalism, communism, fascism libertarianism and socialism. That is, in my opinion, because of man’s inherent greed and lust for power. “All” types of government “could” work in theory, except that greed and lust for power have been the ruination of each of them. Here in the USA, we have had the most perfect (yet) political system, but greed and lust for power have ruined it. That is my opinion, anyway.

Also, as I have stated here many times before, I believe that the best “system” is capitalism with government not being any larger than necessary, and with the proper safeguards in place to protect the people from the predator financial interests and the corporations. If anyone thinks that the “states” have the ability to look out for the people, he or she had better think again, as most all states are as corrupt as the federal government, in my opinion.

No one should pay income taxes and you never want to have a progressive income tax where a large segment pay zero income taxes because that “lower class” will always support or be indifferent to any future income tax hikes as long as it doesn’t affect them. They have no skin in the game. The upper income people are the most productive in society. Taking money out of their pockets and transferring it to the government and to lower income people makes society that much poorer.

As a person who lived in northern Illinois (Rockford area) my entire working life, I can assure you that the state of Illinois DOES NOT use the taxes collected on gasoline for maintenance purposes on their roads. All one has to do is to travel to Wisconsin and the roads miraculously improve. Illinois DOES HAVE toll roads and throughout the life of these toll roads, many lawyers have been disbarred, judges have been removed from the bench and individuals have been convicted and jailed for fraudulent business practices in conjunction with Illinois’ toll road system.

I am now a resident of northeast Tennessee and no longer have to deal with the endemic corruption that continues to take place in Illinois.

Not that Americans should be totally focused on this figure alone.
For example, U.S taxpayers are on the hook for student debt (which stands at almost $1.8 trillion).
But that figure is NOT INCLUDED in the $36.83 trillion National Debt.
And that’s because the Student Debt is classified as an ‘Off Budget’ item – as are trillions of dollars of other Federal obligations on which interest is still payable.

I noticed also on the Debt Clock that the debt per U.S citizen is about $107K.
But the debt per taxpayer is MORE THAN TRIPLE at $323K.
That tells me straight away that MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICANS PAY NO TAX*.
(*And there’s no way that over two-thirds of Americans are school age children, retirees and those with disabilities etc).
Clearly there are scores of millions of able bodied Americans who are parasites that are living off the largesse of the taxpayers.

Interesting also, and something I’ve not seen appear before in the Debt Clock figures, is the DOGE Clock. And it appears to be going up – suggesting to the gullible that DOGE is constantly finding more fraud, waste and abuse to cut.
But most of the purported DOGE cuts will not take place. And to the extent that some token cuts are indeed made, they will be offset one hundred times over by SPENDING INCREASES in other sectors (not least of which is the MISSS – Military Industrial Security Surveillance State).

However, Ford did want his employees to “enjoy the fruits of their labor”, something that no JEW business owner ever advocated.
Ford’s actions forestalled advocacy for communism which was thought to be a way to reign in the “robber barons”.
Of course the wall street fat cats howled that Ford’s “excessive wages” would destroy capitalism–the opposite occurred.

The US defeat in Vietnam, just like the US defeat in Korea, proves the US lacks the moral character and conviction to impose its will and conquer others. In the Melian Dialogue Athens explains to the people of Melos that their defeat will mean all the men die, the boys get castrated, and the women get enslaved. In 19th Century America, the US government committed genocide on native Americans to win control of the North American continent. Something happened to the US after 1900 to gut that moral character.

We can compare the US to Israel. In 1948, European colonists formed the nation of Israel and have imposed their will to defeat their neighbors and the indigenous people so that the colonists can control the and and thrive. The US could have done in Vietnam everything that Israel has done. The US lacks the moral character and focus that we see in Israel.

What didn’t the US do: (1) invade the north (2) round up people in the North, put them in camps, and kill them (3) cut off all supplies to the north from other countries (4) impose “victory conditions” on a village by village basis similar to what Athens imposed on Melos. In other words, there was no commitment to victory by the US.

Looking back on Vietnam we need to admit the US lost, surrendered, and lacked the moral character as a nation to win. Today the US still lacks that moral character. For example, we have allowed Wall Street to outsource US manufacturing to China. The US is being gutted daily by its materialism and greed. Other nations see this and we can expect in the next 50 years someone with greater will will impose defeat on the US.

I have seen exactly ONE vehicle “self-combust” in my 57 years of driving. It was way back in 1968 or 1969, in a little town 75 miles west of Chicago, Illinois. I saw a Volkswagen “bug” sitting at a stoplight, waiting for the light to turn green, when “something” dropped from the area of the engine. The next thing I saw was the rear of the vehicle catching on fire.
