Obama also wiped out the American family, the al-Awlakis, extra-judicially in Yemen in three separate attacks over six years including the father (2011), his 16 year old son, and his 8 year old daughter (the last in an attack he set up which Trump did not stop his first week in office in 2017).

Yemen was Obama's war like Ukraine (the Maidan Coup in 2014), Libya, Syria (invasion); his coup in Turkey in 2016 failed but the US lost its most loyal ally Erdogan.

I would have bet someone money that Table Rock Lake (there are 2 there, actually) in SC and Lake Lure in NC were natural, but I'd have lost 50 bucks, at least! I suppose you can't count the oxbow lakes.

Of the natural lakes in NC, Lake Waccamaw is one of the "Carolina Bays" which you probably know about.

Don't they still have free beer for everyone during rush week?

Rush at Bama used to start immediately after HS graduation. I was at Marion (AL) Military then and 20-30 seniors were pledged that night. (I went to Starksville).

Not sure of the practice these days but will ask the wisest old soul in T-town, Alex Gatewood.

AEN, my MBA tuition in 74-76 was around $350/semester.

  • Having married a Bama sorority girl (Kappa Delta) back in 1976, a few facts.

    1. Monthly sorority dues are now over $1,000.
    2. Even though the average chpter at Bama has 300+ members, the compdetition is brutal. You likely have 100 legacies each fall. So, only 75-80 who will receive bids.
    3. My ex told me that when a girl would come up for a football game and stay at the house, her sisters would catalog her clothing brands for an attack on the her during rush.

Don’t let it fool you, these girls are ruthless in the acquisition of a wealthy SAE, KA, Pike, etc. Preferrably from Mtn. Brook.

Girls do seem to go for that sort of thing more, although I noted that when one of my boys was at a fee-paying school. practically every boy carried a Blackberry (which dates it) and wore then-cool Superdry outside of school.

I will assume that SAE etc. refer to rich guy fraternities. Of course women want to snag a rich guy. But here's the thing--are they aware that not one single man in the entire world cares about what sorority his prospective partner is a member of? A man wants a good-lucking, charming, sane woman. He doesn't care if she's a member of the local Moose Lodge.

Things have changed in 1976. Most of the female students are from out of state. Most of them are not looking for husband while an undergraduate. The 2020 version of the MRS degree is to get into a career path in the HEAL (look it up, Richard V Reeves) jobs that put the women around affluent males when the women are in the upper 20's.

When the median age for first marriage in the U.S. is above 30 for males and higher for college educated males, one does meet one's spouse in college. One should also look up how women are much more likely to do a semester abroad than male students. In 2019 1400 students from UA studied abroad.
