One must understand that not long before the rise of Hitler, there was no such national entity known as “Germany.” There existed a common cultural sphere and linguistic symmetry; however, what is now Germany was then Prussia and multiple aligned principlaities, with a strong connection to Austria-Hungary.

Furthermore, there is NO historical doubt that the main aggressor of WWI was Germany.

Proof?

Germany violated Belgium nuetrality and exploited the events of Serbian nationalism and Turksh instability for their own gain. The evidence is detailed in the Schlieffen Plan, which was the German design for a military invason of France, via Belgium — many years before the war. Furthermore, it was Prussian militarism, the embarressment of previous French defeat, desire for a homogeneous national identity, the economic needs of a country which missed out on the golden age of exploration, along with Kaiser Wilhelm’s deep longing for acceptance by European elites, including his grandmother, Queen Victoria of England, which led to his desire for a large European theatre and total war.

England merely responded because of their treaty with the Allied powers and the protection of Belgium sovereignty. Trust me, the British would have preferred to focus overseas instead of maintaining European stability.

Why does this matter?

Because it indicates that the Treaty of Versailles was fair punishment for a needless and unjust German war. Moreover, the same culture of emerging German nationalism and ethnocentrism, Prussian militarism, coupled with their absurd idea to colonize Europe: predated the rise of Hitler.

Once again: The Treaty of Versailles was not the proximate cause of WWII.

Moving on, the rise of the Nazi Party brought both fear and intrigue by British and American elites. However, the idea that Winston Churchill started WWII is completely false. Adolf Hitler invaded Poland and the former Czechoslovakia. Furthermore, it was Britain and Neville Chamberlain that appeased and stated: “peace for our time.” Historians know now that Hitler was not trying to align with Britain: he was merely playing with England and had zero desire to obey international norms. Any peace treaty made with Germany would have been temporary, as Hitler viewed the Soviet Union as the main threat. However, this militarism would have eventually turned inward towards Europe once the Soviet’s were defeated.

Why?

Because national socialism, as an economic system, requires large-scale resource allocation for sustainability. Remember, Germany did not have the expansive overseas empire nor great access to the sea. Therefore, Germany expanded not merely for cultural purposes of unification, but because they, alone, did not have access to the necessary resources for economic feasibility. That is exactly why Herbert Backe, Reich Minister for Food and Agriculture, implemented the mass starvation policies for both Jews and ethnic Slavs. Backe was reallocating those resources to Germans during wartime. England, ever since the late 19th century, had practiced an economic system predicated on Adam Smith — not national socialism. Therefore, they understood that, in essence, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s were literally colonizing Europe.

I live in Brussels. The Soviets got to the camps in Poland first, and they were evacuated and the prisoners transferred west to camps in Germany. The resulting overcrowding, and the fact that Germany was being constantly bombed, led to horrific conditions in the camps and a great number of deaths from disease (though not starvation). The US liberated Buchenwald and Eisenhower became a major promoter of the holohoax, implicitly claiming that the prisoners that had died were purposefully killed by the Germans. This was categorically false. The really horrific pictures with the mass graves come from Belsen … the Brits filmed the liberation of Belsen and made a documentary film that was shelved for 50 years. It documents the typhus epidemic that killed 30,000 prisoners at the very end of the war in the camp, 10,000 after the camp was liberated. The real problem is that money and economics are almost incomprehensible. I’m a PhD engineer and I’ve devoted some time to trying to understand it and have pretty much failed. It’s all smoke and mirrors and it is very difficult to find something concrete enough for an engineer to understand ! Perkins makes it simpler (pay off the wealthy to sell a country loans that will generate big bucks for the creditor), and so does Hudson (loan to create export but not internal development and independence) but when he starts talking about manipulation of currency values a note of uncertainty and mystery appears for me. I became interested following the 2008 crash which was attributed to derivatives, currency swaps, and other intangibles …. and now the trade is these products dominates financial markets (as I understand) to the tune of trillions of $$$ per day (e.g Derivatives traded on exchanges hit a new all-time record in 2018 of more than 30 billion contracts, according to statistics from the Futures Industry Association (FIA).) So, I don’t think this article or a similar article appearing every six months is sufficient to the subject.
