We don’t have a drug war! All we have is a fight over drug money, political influence, power, proceeds, and distribution of assets. To have a war, you have to have objectives, and goals that benefit we the people. In your alleged drug war, we have a totally chained down law enforcement, working for we the people on one side (99%) fighting over the plunder. Anyone who wants drugs legalized is a moron with no cause and effect genes. All legalization will do is cost tax payers, and insurance payers ever increasing amounts (redistribution of wealth). The communist democrats see it as a way to gain voters (power), and take money from the cartels (redistribution of wealth). The republicans aren’t smart enough to make a decision either way (too many lawyers), so they just raise their hands and answer one of two things. Either- me too! Or, yeah, whatever! There are only two sources of unaccountable cash. Drugs, and organized crime. Just ask the deep state, global cocaine distribution. The clowns in action, global heroin distribution. The chinese, global fentanyl distribution. And the israelis, global mdma distribution.

In federal LE, incompetent, sociopath management is split 75/15/10. 75% incompetent sociopath blacks. 15% incompetent hispanics. And 10% motivated professionals. I’m a little curious how open borders ideas could have stopped Nazism. In reality, Nazism was stopped by nationalism; the individual nationalisms of each threatened nation. Russians fought for ‘Mother Russia.’ Brits fought for King and Country. Americans fought for Uncle Sam. French fought for France, Poles for Poland, etc. They were all fighting against a threat to their own national identity. No one fighting the Nazis was fighting for open borders and the erasure of their nations. If they thought that’s what they were fighting for they would have thrown down their weapons and gone home.

The international fascism that our modern elite supports would have left the world weaponless against the Nazis.

Lungren is one of those lifelong politicians who seems to never go away. The CA GOP has a small stable of them. As the A.G. in the early 90s he went after “violent video games” — which I guess is a policy I’d remember, as a suburban male teenager fond of violent games — but a dozen years later it was a surprise after moving to outer Sacramento County to discover he was that district’s U.S. Congressman (not for long, in one of the few 50/50 CDs on the west coast). Doug Ose is another. Steve has noted how the top CA Democrats tend to be stodgy relics in their 70s and 80s but on the other side, for an abject failure as a state party, it’s largely the same group of nondescript idiots in charge. The 2 guys thrown up for the Senate race were unknown to me, and remain so. Meanwhile lightweight blow-dry dandies like Eric Garcetti and Gavin Newsom would get laughed out of their primaries anywhere east of the Sierra. I don’t see any national political talent coming out of California soon. Somehow it lacks the ferment necessary for that to develop; maybe institutional reasons too, thanks to “the Progressive Era” reforms. People with something on the ball don’t run for office which just means refereeing government unions anyway.

It’s going to take a long time for these trends to become decisive in electoral politics. During that time, the Republicans will continue to be pushed to the left in order to compete with the Democrats.

So the party that finally takes over the new SWPL free America will be completely different than today’s Republican party.
