The operative term here is "a few." These communities are the exceptions that prove the rule. They're outliers.

Demographics are one thing. I'd be interested to know the psychographics of these places. Are they populated by university educated professionals, doctors, lawyers for the most part? What is the rate of unwed pregnancies? Intact marriages? School quality? What percentage of their offspring go on to legitimate four year colleges? Home ownership? And what are the homes worth? And so on and so forth.

On thing is for sure: With these crime stats, they're sure as hell not Ghetto.

Interesting. So if disregard Bowie, MD on account of only being 50% black, there are still three very small communities (under 20k each) that have an 'alternate universe' aspect to them.

I wonder why those are so low in crime. They are the black equivalent of what the Hamptons or Belvedere would be for white people (top 0.2%). Are they populated by the few educated black immigrants, who desperately want to have nothing to do with US blacks?

Another thought about variance within black crime rates : I have always felt that South Los Angeles, with the Crips and Bloods, were seen as more dangerous just because they were near enough to Hollywood that movies could be made about them. Baltimore, DC, South Chicago, and Oakland are probably no less dangerous, but can't be made famous by movies like BoyZ N the Hood.

Lastly, there was every chance for West Coast blacks to be far better behaved than those from the original 13 states + Deep South. California didn't even join the US until 10 years before the Civil War, and was barely a participant in it. So blacks on the West Coast only arrived there much later and completely of free will. They had the closest thing to a clean slate as they could have gotten.

They have no excuse to whine about 'slavery' or to be dysfunctional. Their behavior strengthens the HBD case against them, and weakens the case of 'it takes centuries to recover from the social damage of slavery'.

So we have three majority black areas with a total combined population of only 50,000 that are exceptions to the rule. I would say these exceptions prove the rule and are probably very atypical black areas. Would be curious to know more about them....

I suspect those communities are made up of blacks with populations over the age of 60, namely, they're black retirement spots.

Hey, I never knew that about the Lumbee tribe, hello. Thanks. I did know that Heather Locklear was part of the tribe before she became part of that Melrose Nation of the lower Los Angeles river drainage ditch.

Back in her Melrose Place days, I always thought she could have used a little Lumber support, from members of her TV audience, like, say, me.

It doesn't surprise me Simmons had this scheme set up to meet chicks---he was no natural at social interaction, he needed someone to talk him up to get any. Most super-famous guys are like this: they rarely have any abilities with women at all, and rely on their fame or power to "wow" women into sleeping with them, and will often have their hangers-on bring women to themor talk them up to women instead of doing it themselves, being so bad at it. (e.g. When Tiger Woods's texts came out during his cheating scandal, they revealed Eldrick as an extremely whiny and needy dude who would probably be an involuntary virgin these days if he hadn't become Tiger Woods, world's most famous athlete and famous golfer).

According to one tale I read, Simmons began as a very nerdy black kid who dressed like Urkel and began his career as a party/club promoter. Rick Rubin befriended him, sensing his ability and hunger and taught him how to dress "blacker" and talk "blacker". After that, Simmons used his new "authentic'" blackness to start bringing acts in the door.

And thus Simmons, a black man, was basically taught how to be black by Rubin, a Jewish record producer.

Rubin has a long history of makeovers, some successful and some blowing up in his face. The Black Crows threw him out of the room and refused to sign with him when he suggested early on that they (a rock band from Georgia) change their name to the Kobb Kounty Krowes (spelled just like that--KKK for short, of course), and have their promotional photos be them dressed in overalls with haystraws coming out of their mouths.

The lead guy of the Black Crows got so incensed at this idea that despite Rubin's legacy and power, and the Crows being relatively unknown at the time, they never spoke with him again, and went out and toured themselves into the ground and became huge (the lead guy ended up marrying Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn's hot daughter).

Also, I never knew being a party/club promoter was a thing until a few years ago when some hungry blacks and gay non-black men were very insistent to some girls I knew that the girls "had" to come to some "hot" club just opening. The girls were very hot and young and flattered, and the dudes basically told them they were paid by how many hot chicks and/or celebrities they could get to show up. It turns out a lot of wannabe music/club guys in NYC start out as party promoters.

@Rohirrim Granted it's a video game, but the Fallout games take place far enough into the future where some of the sites can reasonably theorized to have been replaced at some point.

Since Steve has seen fit to post another Fallout 3 picture, I figured I'd take this time to point out that game has the most un-PC mission in any game I've ever played (the Tenpenny Tower optional side mission). (And that's not to take anything away from the black slaver Eulogy Jones in the game)
