Some stupid people at the front calm themselves with talk that we can retreat further to the east, as we have a lot of territory, a lot of ground, a lot of population and that there will always be much bread for us. They want to justify the infamous behaviour at the front. But such talk is a falsehood, helpful only to our enemies.

Each commander, Red Army soldier and political commissar should understand that our means are not limitless. The territory of the Soviet state is not a desert, but people – workers, peasants, intelligentsia, our fathers, mothers, wives, brothers, children. The territory of the USSR which the enemy has captured and aims to capture is bread and other products for the army, metal and fuel for industry, factories, plants supplying the army with arms and ammunition, railways. After the loss of Ukraine, Belarus, Baltic republics, Donetzk, and other areas we have much less territory, much less people, bread, metal, plants and factories. We have lost more than 70 million people, more than 800 million pounds of bread annually and more than 10 million tons of metal annually. Now we do not have predominance over the Germans in human reserves, in reserves of bread. To retreat further – means to waste ourselves and to waste at the same time our Motherland.

Therefore it is necessary to eliminate talk that we have the capability endlessly to retreat, that we have a lot of territory, that our country is great and rich, that there is a large population, and that bread always will be abundant. Such talk is false and parasitic, it weakens us and benefits the enemy, if we do not stop retreating we will be without bread, without fuel, without metal, without raw material, without factories and plants, without railways.

This leads to the conclusion, it is time to finish retreating. Not one step back! Such should now be our main slogan.

I have family in Missouri and lived there at different times in the 60 and 70s. A branch of the family lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Missouri was settled by scots Irish and germans and was 10 percent black, a slave state but not in the cotton belt. Small town minnesota was nearly 100 percent german and Scandanivian, the radio played polka beer songs and no C and W like in Missouri. As late as 1970 there were no minorities to speak of in Minnesota. When the Minnesotans talked about Missouri they wondered why blacks were treated so bad, never like a southerner who would say the blacks acted bad. Any minority in Minnesota was treated like their pet monkey, the town all knew them and wanted to be their friend. They could not understand why it was different in Missouri.

Minnesotans have no history of dealing with minorities and so have no fear, feel no need to protect themselves.

an autopsy report will say that she died of underlying conditions. Yes, of natural causes, by purest coincidence while being shot eight times. Happens all the time.

Analyze the words <=is there a problem.. ? probably not, I think, but if there were; consider the following:

Unfortunately we don't criminalize and punish for the crime of lying. Actually there is no place I know of where lying by officials, media, or police is a crime. Yes there are many places where the governed are required to assert the truth, and failing to do so is a punishable crime, but no place I know of that a member of government, media or a corporate person, can be held accountable for lying. The governed are held accountable for the truth in testimony before a court, a congress, or false statements made to investigators, false statements on applications, and the like, but no where are the governors held liable for their lies?

Misrepresenting the truth should be criminalized and everyone should be held accountable: President, member of the House, a member of the press, a city mayor, a police chief, a County Commissioner, a State governor, a Bureaucrat, an autopsy specialist, a scientist speaking on SARS CoVid 19, a Bat Virus Researcher, an expert of any kind, and even eye witnesses can all misrepresent the truth (by omission as well as commission) , and even if the fabrication, misstatement, etc. is discovered no penalty can be applied.

Misrepresentation, misstatement, fabrication, and lying (including commission or omission) are devices often seen in use by those who provide content, or who make authoritative statements, which is or are distributed by the media, officials of government, agencies and institutions that derive authority or funds from such governments, to control or misdirect those they govern. President after president have been shown to fib during political campaigns, no President has spent a single day in jail. Certain generals and presidents lied us into war after war.

I think, we need an amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

According my understanding of the first amendment, government cannot make a law to abridge the right of any person to express himself or herself on any media [air, paper, digital, etc.] in any format [language, written, printed, or art or image], at any place.

But after the expression is uttered (published, expressed in or on some media), the utterance can be examined by everyone (unlimited qualifications, unlimited numbers of persons, by persons with or without qualification, all would be eligible to examine the utterance). If one or more of the examiners discovers in that uttered, or any part of that uttered, published or expressed in some way, to be a misrepresentation, misstatement, fabrication, or a lie, then, IANAL, but

The constitutional amendment I propose would command that the examiner report his or her probable cause finding that a misstatement, fabrication, falsification or lie may have occurred, together with copies of the evidence to support that finding, to any federal prosecutor. The prosecutor in receipt of an examiner's assertion that a lie has been uttered shall be commanded by the amendment to act within 10 days, to issue and to serve a complaint containing the "allegations made by the examiner, together with the allegations embodied in the complaint the prosecutor filed with a court having jurisdiction. The amendment should define the materials to be served and shall standardize the instructions to be delivered as a part of the complaint to the accused. The accused would then be expected to respond to the complaint in writing, under oath, to the court in which the Prosecutor filed the complaint. The complaint should be written so that the accused can answer the assertions one by one, and shall describe for each assertion all defenses which might apply to the complaint.
The amendment I would propose would require the court to set a trial date, to hear the case, and complete the proceedings within four months following the date the Prosecutor received the examiners certified mail assertion.

I would propose that if the court decides the utterance by the accused contains a misrepresentation, misstatement, fabrication, or a lie, that is, the court finds the person charged to be guilty of the crime of uttering misrepresentation, false, fabricated or misleading content, then the amendment would direct the court to sentence the person found guilty, to 5 years, in the federal penitentiary, without exception, without bail and without possibility to be released early and without possibility to be relieved of the obligation to serve the full sentence. (The amendment I would propose would deny application of the pardon by the President to persons convicted under the proposed amendment).

yeah, i know this is not likely to happen, but i think it is needed to restore people's faith in their government, culture and society.

    A Bridge too Far ...!

We visited Mexico in January 2020. It's a "shithole" ... unless you live in gated communities and shop in the upscale shopping centers reserved for the "Spanish" elite and expats like Fred. Police and military everywhere armed with automatic weapons. Roadblocks ... but one look at us (the occupants) and we were waved through. Now, that's privilege!

Houses protected by door and window grates and roofs lined with concertina wire, which is always my measure for a society in deep, deep trouble. Middle-class youth being warehoused in makeshift universities with few job prospects after they graduate. Speak fluent English with a college degree and you might find yourself a "barker" at a tourist attraction.

The less fortunate live in a "gig" economy. Anything for a peso, which includes selling candy in traffic to helping park cars for tips. Two hours outside of Mexico City and many people do not speak Spanish. They speak Nahuatl (I looked it up). It's otherwise known as "Aztec".

Does that detract from the hospitality of the people who hosted us, served us, and helped us for two weeks? In no way! Mexicans are among the friendliest people you will ever meet. They know how (at the local, interpersonal level) to circle-the-wagons to help neighbors, friends, and guests survive a hopelessly corrupt system that exploits everyone except the European elite ... who live on a different planet and want to keep it that way.

A different tact: Mexico's problem is that it suffers from too much diversity. The reach is too long for Mexico to successfully capture and accommodate the divergent aspirations of the descendants of the original Aztecs and Mayans, a grab bag of Campesinos and Mestizos, and the European elite within a Third World economy and society.

A prediction: The United States will progressively resemble Mexico when the dollar collapses, which (BTW) is inevitable. Like Mexico, we already suffer from too much diversity. Our reach is too long to successfully capture and accommodate the divergent aspirations of immigrants from Nigeria and the rest of West Africa, Somalia, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Mexico, Central America, India, Pakistan, China, and the founding European populations at the same time. We are going to quickly disintegrate into quarreling families, clans, tribes, and ethnic and racial identities at war for limited resources. The recent ethno-riots are a harbinger of things to come.

President George W. Bush admitted that the United States was no longer a melting pot of peoples. Rather, we had become a mosaic of divergent races, peoples, religions, cultures, and languages.

    Diversity be damned. It's a "Bridge-too-Far".

Under Trump, there was no Blexit and most blacks stuck with Democratic party.

Still, Trump did better with blacks in 2016 than earlier GOP candidates.

Trump did improve the economy for blacks. Many blacks did support, even if silently, Trump’s immigration policies.

So, Trump was poised to do even better with blacks in 2020.

Dems just couldn’t allow this. Blacks are black gold to them. Black votes, every one of them, are crucial to them. Also, blacks are symbolically important to the Dems.

Dems saved big cities by quelling black crime and by pushing mass immigration and globo-homo. So, Dems know blacks are problematic but must be controlled. But the Dem Narrative is still ‘blacks are holy and MLK is god’. So, they feel most threatened when a GOP figure makes ANY inroad into the black base.

With Covid, Dems destroyed black employment. And with these riots, Dems are setting blacks against Trump and GOP.

    Mission Accomplished.

The Dem plantation can’t allow blacks to move to Trump plantation.

To assume that gratitude has any meaningful value for most people in this world is your first mistake. Most people will forget the things you’ve done for them, up to and including saving their lives, the moment they decide their interests conflict even slightly with yours, especially if they are of another race or ethnicity, but sometimes even if they are your own flesh and blood.

    (70%, 62, 4,659)=> Disease Mortality Rate=1.90108%

So your extrapolation to America by calculating "327 million * 70% infection rate * 1.3%:" is not correct because in effect you multiply by 0.7 twice.

    327 million * 1.33075% = 4.35 million or
    327 million * 70% infection rate * 1.90108% = 4.35 million

That's just changing the gender and race mix in the bottom 4/5ths of the affected disciplines.

For undergrad, the bottom 4/5ths of graduates in any discipline are incapable of a career in the discipline anyway - so they don't matter. They leave university with fleeting familiarity with the material that was on the test, but they are not 'competent' in the domain.

If I was a white guy who was qualified for a university place in STEM, but likely to finish in the bottom half of a graduating class, the kindest thing anyone could do for me is to encourage me to quit... I might go on to be an electrician or crane operator[1] instead. I might even #learntocode (and would be superior to 99% of H1Bs who from the Global 'HelloWorld' Curry-house).

As for grad school: as I have said since forever - if you don't qualify for a merit scholarship, you're wasting everybody's time.

The hint's in the name: merit scholarships are based purely on performance. None of those guys are missing out.

[1] Funnily enough: crane operator - preferably on a wharf - is what I would do "if I could turn back time". It never crossed my mind as a 12-14 year old: then again, nor did economics or quant finance - which is where I ended up (with a full merit scholarship all the way to PhD, so "No scholarship = dead weight" doesn't apply).

Modern cranes are brilliant: I finagled my way into one last year and it was like I was 7 again (on the flight to Australia in 1972, I got to visit the cockpit of a DC10: I was wide-eyed about it for weeks, even though Dad already had a pilot's licence and I'd been flying with him in a 172).

If you're identified as a 'gifted' kiddie, the whole system tries to drive you in specific directions. You're seldom conscious of the sorts of occupations - like operating a crane - that would be perfect for people who are kinda misanthropic (and almost all smart people are, to various extents).

If men have dominated in the social and intellectual spheres-- to name only the most obvious,-- from the very beginning until just before the onset of the mental degeneration that is "wokeness", then this must really be because "there is nothing a man cannot do better than a woman; except bear children," as a friend's grandmother opined.
But, and for the sake of balance, it is nevertheless undeniable that men generally, and western men in particular, have undergone a certain 'feminisation', especially in the domain of philosophy-- or what is so called in what remains of western 'civilisation'. And this last was not caused by women; it was only taken advantage of by that variant of Marxism which is feminism. In all of this dangerous imbalance truth is nowhere to be seen.

I have never heard of people being advised to go to Mexico for better medical care, aside from getting certain medications over the counter you can’t get without a prescription in U.S. I’ve heard Cuba has decent healthcare, though.

And as for education, most of what’s wrong with comes from Foucault and other annoying academics. Women are generally not coming up with those theories, but perhaps they are perhaps more easily coerced into implementing policies reflective of those theories. Also the courts have messed up public education: can’t kick kids out who disrupt, second chances for test-taking and excessive tardies, disparate impact, every kid with an IEP basically gets accommodations that amount to a free pass.

And I did say there was on area we desperately need more male secondary teachers: poor areas where kids need a father figure and sometimes drill sargeant who knows a few things. But guess what? Male teachers are highly coveted employees in public education and generally choose not to go into rough schools unless they are pushed out of somewhere nicer or there is something weird on their record. There are some of the old guard in there but they are all retiring fast and the younger male teachers (even black ones) want to go to suburban schools.

Why would American health care be better than Mexican when maybe half the staff in American hospitals is from Mexico or other third world countries? I dont mean ethnic Americans I mean fresh off the boat FOBs.

Of the other half, the Americans, often 80 percent qualify for affirmative action, the management has to let them do as they please, there is no control. They might do their job, they might not. Try complaining at a US healthcare facility about the women or the black employees, you are wasting your time and endangering your relative.

I took an elderly relative to an old folks home and the mexican doctors cured diseases the “Americans” could not cure because they had actually caused them, over prescribing medicines. The Mexicans use less medicine and my relative’s health is better.

40 years ago my father did a sabbatical teaching at the U of Hawaii. I left my Mainland college and took a few classes at UH. Not impressed. My younger brother was in middle school at the time. Everyone said not to put him in the Honolulu public schools (although the Kailua schools seemed a lot better). So he wound up spending a year at Iolani. It seems interesting that such a small state has three of the largest private schools in the country.

My father was offered a permanent tenured full professor position at UH. My mother wanted to stay in Hawaii, even though we would live in a much smaller house. But, the cost of sending my brother to Iolani private school plus the extra living costs would wind up costing us more than he would earn. Besides, my mother could find work teaching in the Mainland much more easily. Add to that my older brother and I were both at fancy private colleges.

So, is the fact they left Hawaii over the cost of schools the same as fleeing the bad public schools in Hawaii? Is is flight from Asians?

Fleeing bad schools can be fleeing Blacks/hispanics/democrats but not asians till the asians run the schools like here in Hawaii, than the schools suck.

There is also flight from white areas, White males under 5ft 5 inches tall flee the mainland for the better short guy sexual market here in Hawaii. This could be caused by the huge number of white women selecting black men and dropping white men. It is also white flight.

What causes the schools to suck?
  • there are several types of white flights going on now, Fleeing blacks was back in the 1950s.

Fleeing Blacks: Already known, I dont have to go over that.

Fleeing Hispanics. Hispanics isnt a race nor even a nationality. I think fleeing middle class cubans could be different from fleeing poor mexicans and crime. Lots of white flights from all kinds of hispanics. I have never lived around hispanics in the USA so I cant point out the details.

Fleeing Asians. This is probably more Canadian than American, vancover has displaced its white population for asian in the last 20 years or so. The mechanism is high rents and over investing in real estate. White families that dont want to live 7 to a house leave for cheaper real estate. There is also something I see here in Hawaii, white kids dont compete so well in schools with lots of asians. It is harder to be the nerdy smart kid because the asians are good at that. A white kid in a black school wont make the basketball team and a white kid in an asian school wont make the math team. There is also sexual competition which white women lose and so want to move.

Fleeing Democrats. Some combination of above plus general high medical insurance costs and low quality of medical care in hospitals that are staffed by 50 percent foreigners and 40 percent US quota people. No government service, schools, hospitals, police works worth a shit around dems. Your street and neighbor hood can be all white but you still might need services in Demostan. This could also be flight from white women in charge as there are a lot of white women running these failed institutions.

White flight isnt always to Kansas or somewhere more white. Fred R fled to Mexico. I spend some time in Fred’s barrio ever year. The gringos first mention price and weather as their reason for moving to beanerstan. You pry a little bit and and there are other motivations: housing prices, homelessness, low quality medical, crime, low quality schools. I know people freak when Fred says it but middle class Americans can buy their way out of these problems and live better lives in Mexico.

A friend of mine is originally from Auckland, born and raised. Her brother still lives there, but can barely afford it anymore. Her parents were some of the people who gave into and sold their house to Chinese real estate investors before the New Zealand government realized some aspects of Laissez-faire aren't a good idea (like large scale displacement of native New Zealanders) and started to ban Chinese real estate investors form taking over too many neighborhoods in Auckland. According to my friend's version of what happened in her old neighborhood, the Chinese wouldn't take no for an answer if home owners held out. They often offered ridiculous prices for houses to anyone who said no. My friend's parents couldn't say no; they made a ton of money. She also told me a lot of people in her parent's old neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods did the same thing. Eventually, that area of Auckland became unaffordable to all of the sellers' children, including my friend. I knew Chinese money was flowing into New Zealand real estate, but I had no idea of the scale and impact it eventually had. Her story reminded me of what happened to Vancouver during the time period a few years before Hong Kong residents knew the Chinese government would be taking over Hong Kong. A lot of them got scared and fled to Vancouver, along with their money. We all know what happened to a lot of native Vancouverites after that.

My wife and daughter traveled from Washington DC to NY city. The Amtrak fare was $90 each one way and that is heavily subsidized by government. A bus was $19 each and that is a profitable business. The bus had WiFi, bathrooms, comfortable seats and TV screens at every seat. Both train and bus went to the same place within a block.

Mexico has a wonderfull system of busses for trips of a few hundred miles. The poorest people can move around Mexico for a few bucks. The busses are comfortable and quite modern. It turns out the US and Mexico make the most sustainable use of trains (except for our dubious Amtrak and all the light rail). The Chinese may travel 300 miles at 300 MPH, a tragic and heavily subsidized waste of resources. Get a flight and travel 500 MPH.

The buses in Mexico are Deluxe. huge seats and double deckers with a view. No long lines at the bus station, the newer bus stations are much more civilized than the airports which are crowded. Some older bus stations are bad.

The old stereotype of the bus full of chickens and pigs is more or less Volaris airlines. Volaris is cheaper than the bus but crowded and long long lines. For trips of 5 or 6 hours the bus is better than the plane trip of 2 hours, plus the 3 or so hours in the airport.

I mean New Zealand set the precedent, the and it would only be fair and PC appropriate for Texas to follow. And before someone says I'm being funny and inappropriate given this tragedy, why? Why is a sombrero funnier than a hijab? Or really, if those New Zealand cops and officials were truly PC versed and trained, why did they wear the hijab? Don't they know that under new PC rules, already in force before the Christchurch massacre, what they did is cultural appropriation of a minority and a definite no no.

Cornfields and flat topography are indeed perhaps the quintessential features of the Midwest. Nonetheless, you can still subdivide the region into about 4 areas:

    1) Southern Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and a good chunk of Missouri are the quasi-Dixie region.
    2) Central to Northern Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Northern Missouri, and Iowa are the quintessentially "Midwestern" region, with generally neutral accents in comparison to the Southern Midwest or Upper Midwest.
    3) Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota comprise the Upper Midwest, where accents are often strong, and Germanic/Scandinavian/Slavic ancestry heavily out-weights Scots-Irish, Italian, or Irish-Catholic ancestry.
    4) The Western Plains region is Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. A hint of the frontier starts to creep in, and the region is much sunnier and drier than the rest of the Midwest. Accents often tend towards being even more "neutral" than the other regions.

My definition goes by states. The definition is, to my mind, has cultural, ecologic and geographic aspects..

North of the Ohio and Missouri. MO gets in because its river splits the state. KY does not because the Ohio is north of it.

West of the Appalachians. OH is in, PA is not.

East of the Rockies. Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas are in by this definition. But I, inconsistently, think of the western half of the two southern states and all of the Dakotas as western due to the environmental issues. Eastern Kansas is much like Missouri, western is very much, well, western.

The east/west line is mainly cultural. Since I grew up on the frontier between the South and Midwest, it was blindingly obvious that some of my neighbors and friends were culturally southern while others were, like my family, midwestern.

The eastern line is in some sense also cultural/historical. When Americans crossed the Appalachians they became a different people. Jefferson and Adams were not really all that different culturally from Englishmen. Lincoln and Jackson were very different indeed.

Of course we have argued that American supports these white ruling elite. Most of the time. Not always. Castro’s parents were from Spain and he is white as snow but the Americans never supported him.

But of course he never attended Harvard. Leaders like Vincente Fox made their contacts in US Ivy League colleges with future US politicians and CIA Chiefs and Economic Hit men. Sometimes these relationships in the dormitories of Yale or Harvard become homosexual and the bonds are there for life.

Leftist leaders, on the other hand, usually come up the ranks through the military. Or police. Like Hugo the Indian from Venezuela these Leftist leaders did not come from rich old Basque or Andalusian families and never went to Yale where they made contacts with future leaders.

And of course, foreign powers backing too - the American debt is being replaced with the Chinese debt all over the continent thanks to socialismo siglo 21, or mostly joined together because the equally wicked IMF couldn't care less... and of course the three parentheses and the Masons and all those.

Yes, blame the Basque and Andalusian settlers that brought civilization to this land and replaced cannibalism for the clean Eucharist version; but it is now that these elites are browner and giving more scraps than ever (process started by the US-friendly liberals of the 19th century, ie Benito Juarez, and continued by commies) that the browns are taking them scraps and using them to flee to El Norte - or otherwise perpetuate the fascist-clan-based cycle, in which the whites and offwhites alternate power and distribution of resources, and switch allegiances to world powers for commodities and recognition of the aforementioned-power, while begging for moar credit to consume foreign goods that will impoverish them more than anyone when the bubble bursts... again.

True, the more populist the leader the better for the working classes, as indeed Chavez was loved by many; but there is no organic society that develops in this continuously democratic-revolutionary manner without crumbling to outside factors, save in some near-homogeneous occasions. Much less so in multiracial democratic LatAm, since the leader can either piss off the rich fascist whites OR basic tribal browns too much, and break any temporary unity (usually due to short economic bonanza due to commodities and-or mass redistribution to the browns to compensate) as one elite replaces the other in the endless circle. The browns need the whites to think and share a little more, the whites need the browns to work and clean a little more, tensions rise and fall when ends of the bargain are inevitably not met - and true, more Latin people can read and adhere to cosmopolitan Western ideologies to buy cellphones, but genetics will take longer than that...

The only way it ends, is either populist-yet-agrarian-yet-hierarchical (maybe Catholic integralist, but with computers and enough "work ethic") government returns to stay and allow both (or more) ways of life to coexist, separated and dependent enough to obey; or complete and total mettissage. Even then, the average IQ (and-or, standoffishness in trade) may result way too low for comfort for the neighboring Norte not to intervene...

Then again, it would help to have some nukes distributed among all Latin nations, at least we can deal with the Raza Question unbothered then... just don't count on the mestizos to operate them... unless they invite the Chinese and Russian engineers in, as they do in Cuba already lol... also picturing the castizos of the Grupo de Lima inviting Viceroy Pence's Marines to counteract bringing them their own football briefcase, with Andean or Argentine leather lolol...
