The law you link to is the Clarity Act 1995, a federal law indicating under what condition the feds would give consent to a province leaving.

The federal law does not affect the rights of provinces. However the provinces have almost no rights in the matter.

The provinces have almost no rights because before passing the Constitution Act of 1982 then PM Pierre Trudeau asked the Supreme Court whether he could change the Constitution without the consent of the Provinces.

The SCC said yes. The feds had to consult the Provinces but having consulted all the feds needed was a law passed in Parliament.

Some people make a big deal about the fact the law as it was finally passed includes an amending formula which is far more stringent than what the SCC said was required.

The amending formula is plainly unconstitutional because by requiring a much higher standard to amend the law than was originally required to enact it Parliament in a certain sense abolished democracy.

A democracy may not abolish itself. That is the upshot of Nuremberg where Germans were punished for following the laws of the otherwise legally established authority.

The principle that democracy may not abolish itself is contained in the ancient Roman maxim that the health of the Republic is the highest law.

Therefore the ruling obtained in 1982 to the effect the government must consult the Provinces and then may legislate constitutional change is still the law in Canada.

Further to my idea, what distinguishes the person on antidepressants is the complete self assurance with which they say the most ridiculous things. It is that inability to say “I could be wrong, but…” which is the giveaway plus of course the unquestioning belief they are right.

At this date America probably referred to more than what would become the USA but certainly did not exclude it. We note Goldsmith uses the word promise twice here to imply it was the promise which was generously offered in return for slavery, not an actual thirty pounds.

I have a tiny bit of first hand evidence to present on the so-called Holocaust.

In 1967 in Winnipeg Canada the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews sponsored a human rights convention for students from throughout Manitoba.

To plan this convention select Winnipeg high schools sent a student representative to a dinner and meeting at the Marlborough Hotel once a month over the winter of 66 – 67. I represented Kelvin High.

The term “further east” is in quotation marks because Goebbels uses it in his diary. In that same entry he says he came up with the idea of solving the housing shortage by sending Jews to the camps and giving their homes to bombed out workers.

Goebbels also states that half the Jews cannot work and are being sent “further east”. He closes with the remark he suspects things are going rather hard for the Jews and he considers it unwise to enquire further.

I have read claims that German officers witnessed the murders of Jews that took place “further east” and were shocked by the enthusiasm of the killers.
