RSSThe author “cannot think of anything more removed from Marx’s thinking than CRT.” That appears to rest on an incomplete study of Marx, for the vehemence of his discourses on ‘classes’ was equal to or worse than his rants about the inferiority or superiority of races (or ethnicities; I admit it can be hard to separate the two).
For example, in 1849 he wrote: “Der nächste Weltkrieg wird nicht nur reaktionäre Klassen und Dynastien, er wird auch ganze reaktionäre Völker vom Erdboden verschwinden machen. Und das ist auch ein Fortschritt.” Which is, translated from the German:) “The next World War will not only wipe reactionary classes and dynasties off the face of the earth but also entire reactionary populations. And that is progress too.”
I can provide the original German quote for these next ones too, but to conserve space, here’s this gem:
“Among all the ethnic groups, large and small, of Austria[-Hungary], there are only three … that are still viable today – the Germans, the Poles, the Magyars. That’s why they are now revolution-minded.
The first duty of all other tribes and peoples, large and small, is to perish in the revolutionary global upheaval.”
And this gem that Karl Marx wrote to Engels on July 30, 1862, about “the Jewish nigger Lassalle”, whose socialist activism seems to have represented a competitive threat to Marx: “It is now completely clear to me that he is descended, as also proved by the shape of his head and his mane, from the negroes who joined Moses’ exodus from Egypt (unless his mother or grandmother on his father’s side mated with a nigger).”
And finally, what Marx wrote to a female friend, Antoinette Philips, on March 24, 1861, about another female: “who instantly overwhelmed me with her kindness, is the ugliest creature I have seen in my entire life, with repulsive Jewish features.”
