1968, Summer of Love, counteroffensive against American society as a whole. It was largely a media event, backed up by what amounted to (very low level) assault troops such as those that attacked the Democratic Convention and the Weather Underground (planted bombs) and the 1968 urban riots. Essentially a media backed bluff that gave the Left escalation dominance within the Democratic Party. Theme was that "everything has changed" and "the US is in a pre-revolutionary condition", with a strong dose of "We'll hurt you after we win if you block us now".

It got them LBJ and the "War on Poverty", which started the process of transitioning former manufacturing / shipping based cities into cities that lived on tax revenue for the support of imported minorities who couldn't work in an industrialized economy. This is the same system that we see ending today (2019/08/12).

The transition to a welfare supported society [1] is what made Blacks openly contemptuous of Whites. First, the welfare was thought of as tribute, and second there is a Ashkenazi custom that alms are always given to increase credit with God, not to benefit the person receiving the alms. it's not the same as Christian charity, which is thought to be an expression of love or affection or worry about the recipient's welfare. Accordingly, Jewish beggars would _always_ say things to increase the donation, like "Is this all you can give?" or "This isn't enough", in effect trying to reduce the value of the alms in the eyes of God. I'd suspect that the Blacks (and similar groups) were coached to act the way Ashkenazi beggars acted, in much the same way that contemporary immigrants are coached to become as racist as the Aschenazim.

Still, in my suburban world, interactions with blacks and other ethnics are almost entirely cordial. I’ve found that if you’re polite to other people, they’ll be polite to you.

Sure, I always treat individuals with respect, and as human beings.

Have had a couple of Black and Brown friends and numerous friendly acquaintances, so I'm well aware that many Black folks are friendly, intelligent, hard working etc.

But I suspect we all tend to lump whole races together into general categories. Mostly negative categories if not related closely to us.
