RSSThank you for your reply as I said I am only adding to the discussion that is all as I find this interesting.
1. https://www.thoughtco.com/lebensraum-eastern-expansion-4081248
If I am wrong please explain to me. As I mentioned earlier, Hitler did say he was going to do this. I also believe that he did start some resettlement in Poland but not too many took them up on moving. His major plans was to use the Soviet Union for the living space itself.
2. I had come across this site in regards to OST plan: http://www.worldfuturefund.org/wffmaster/Reading/GPO/gpo%20sources.htm
Again if there is counter argument I would like here it as at the time I did not see your debunking earlier.
6. Yes it is true about the USA, they were doing everything they could but declare war. However, they still did not commit to troops. What would be gained by it other than to make a statement to the US which was why Hitler did everything to avoid war. He knew this from WW1. Again I believe his thinking was if he declared war Japan would also attack but by then it was too late as Japan had already committed itself to Yamamoto’s plan in which they would have 6 months to consolidate before the Allie would regroup and counter attack.
2. Your link goes to someone's laughable text for which we see no authentic German documents to back it up. Why would you even use such an unsubstantiated reference?
1. Mein Kampf? So what? Written in 1925, not during WWII.
If Hitler wanted to resettle Germans on occupied land he would have, he had years to do so.
The conditions of WWII would never have allowed such silly claims. It never happened.
I am not disputing those facts. I know about the atrocities committed by the Soviets. In addition, the Japanese internment camps is a fact.
I was merely replying as to the other aspects of the article as to why There were other reasons why Hitler attacked.
Also, the Soviet Union was aiding the communist Chinese from Siberia. Due to several skirmishes with Japan in the 1930s where Russia beat Japan they maintained a large presence. This increased after Japan joined the Axis.
I do not believe Hitler was being altruistic, he was doing what he said he was going to do as it was written in his book for all to see. We were fortunate that Hitler believed Japan would attack along side him but the Japanese instead stuck to the Pacific theatre instead.
In regards this article, however, the following must be taken into account:
1. Mein Kampf did state Lebensraum would encompass Poland and the best areas of the Soviet Union.
2. Generalplanost did show how the conquered areas of the Soviet Union would be used as colonies by the Nazis. This would be done through starvation, slave labor and forced emigration past the Ural Mountains. Children would also be taken if they had Nordic traits therefore removing addition population.
3. Communism and Nazism even though Socialist were against each other.
4. I believe the Soviet Military doctrine at the time was all offensive based. They simply did not have any organization or practice to setup a defense plan. Stalin believed this and his officers followed. They only learned after much hindsight.
5. The US had broken the Japanese diplomatic code called “Purple”. They knew through the cables that the Japanese were not going to attack Siberia. The US passed this information to the Soviets. This explains why the German eastern position started seeing reports of new units coming in. They figured these were Siberian units being transferred in the last few weeks to a month before Operation Barbarossa. This explains why the Germans faced 360 division instead of the 200+. In addition this could also explain why Stalin dug his heels in at Moscow because there were no more problems units.
6. People sometimes ask why Hitler declared war in the US. He needed to finish the USSR. He was hoping Japan would commit to attacking the USSR in Siberia to draw men and resources from the Eastern front. Again the US knew this would not happen due to the Purple code break. Japan instead concentrated on the Pacific theatre. Remember, Japan and Russia did not fight until the Atomic bombs were dropped.
This is just some additional information in regards to to WW2.
