I didn't address your boxed statement because I have no clue what you're talking about - value from a future expectation.

With real money, as with phony currency, people invest to produce new goods and services. In that respect they are the same. Currency has an advantage since it is conjured out of thin air in unlimited quantities and it can produce a spike which then leads inevitably to recession to again form a lopsided balance. The spike produces wealth for the already rich while the recession makes the average person pay for their gain. If we add in the inflation that printing currency always leads to, then once again, the average person ends up paying since they get the new currency last while the rich get access to it first while it still has greater purchasing power.

It is for these reasons the Khazarian Jews have been repeatedly expelled from so many nations for so many centuries. Queen Isabella of Spain expelled the Jews because of their determined efforts to destroy Christianity in Spain. The same is happening in the US today; many school districts can no longer have Christmas trees or nativity scenes or sing Christmas carols because these "offend the Jews".

The US and the EU countries are disintegrating, their economies bleeding to death. The present conditions will continue so long as there is any flesh remaining on the bones in any country. But the Jews are so entrenched in all Western governments, for example openly boasting that they now hold and control more than half of all the important positions in the US government, that removal is likely impossible.

They control the political parties, most election financing, they have vast amounts of sexual entrapment and other kinds of leverage against probably every Western politician, thanks to people like Jeffrey Epstein. They have bought every politician; they have turned US economic and foreign policy to their ends entirely, and this is true generally for the entire EU as well.

And they firmly control all the media to ensure all the publics are kept in the dark about the true state of things and are fed only the narrative that supports their agenda.

The question, the very thought of If national currencies were pegged to gold introduces a lie that defeats the question. The lie is the process of "pegging".

What does pegging mean in practice? It means that the gov't promises to only print a percentage of currency versus their gold holdings. If the peg is 50%, then they'll print an amount of currency nominally worth 200% of their gold reserves meaning their currency is 50% backed by gold. The entire pegging thing is a monumental fraud. What gov't can be trusted to keep their word to not run the printing press just a few hours more or add an extra zero to the legitimate value punched into a computer?

Recently, a peg is never 100% as 100% would eliminate the need for the arbitrary middleman "currency" and thus offers the gov't / central bank no opportunity to lie, cheat and steal, the very reason for having a national currency.

If a currency is not 100% backed by gold, then all the machinations surrounding today's fiat currencies still exists, so pegging to some lesser percentage is just so much obfuscation designed to bamboozle the public.

The entire concept of a "national currency" is designed to allow for cheating by those that know how and are in a position to do so. This would be impossible if, instead of currencies, we were using commodity money as the original Constitution stipulated. If the commodity money were silver and gold, prices the world over could be listed as grams of metal for everything. The concept of Dollars, Yen, Euros, etc disappears.

I don't think much of Charles Hugh Smith. I've read lots of his stuff because LewRockwell sometimes links to his articles, but I always find them mostly fluff.

The article you linked to has a glaring error right up front. No, we don't need no stinking reserve currency. Some countries are, right now, forming trade agreements that don't use a reserve currency. They are trading in their respective currencies and when things get too out of line for one partner, gold will come back in style.

The deals being made are assuming that neither partner will end up with a balance of trade problem, but that's wishful thinking. Currently, the need is to establish trade agreements almost on an emergency basis via what's available and worry about unbalanced situations later. The US Dollar is now so toxic that dedollarization will only intensify.

At some point country A has too much of country B's currency and they will look for another "money" both recognize to settle a debt - gold. Neither country wants their real money, gold, to leave the country, but at some point it's inevitable that gold will once again be used to settle debts. Gold will sneak its way back into being the real money as balance of trade issues occur. Countries are going to have to back their paper with something real, with gold and silver as the most likely commodities, at least for international trade purposes.

In some situations, country A's strong currency may be adopted as the official currency by country B, a weaker nation. Right now, several countries use the US Dollar as their official paper. They're going to need to rethink that, but it wouldn't surprise me if some of the Asian nations don't end up with the Yuan as their preferred currency. All China has to do is back it with gold. China already allows oil transactions to be settled in gold.

If you want bad news, think CBDC/digital currency. There is no worse news possible short of a nuclear exchange that goes global. Look for my suggestion via the NEWSLINKS page for a good article on what's planned.

Perhaps in Hank's mind, the US would be on top forever or at least longer than anyone would remember his words.

It takes a lot of money, muscle and intelligence to lie, cheat, steal and murder right in front of everyone without ever being held accountable. The Mob ruled supremely in New York for the better part of 20 years. Yet, with their hubris and once their weaknesses were understood and a strategy put in place to counter them, their criminal empire collapsed in just a fraction of the time. No one stood up to help them and few tears were shed.

US military muscle has atrophied. Carriers and AWACS are sitting ducks. There is no immediate defense against hypersonic weapons. They can still rain bombs down on defenseless 3rd-world peasants, but even there they cannot occupy ground much less win any hearts and minds. That they won't take on anyone who can fight back has become a virtual axiom.

The intelligence of US leadership has become feeble. Their best and brightest can seemingly read only from the same tired script. When the old routines no longer work, they simply raise their voices to a shrill, fever pitch and read from the same old script again. Those with the open-minded, creative and innovative thought processes necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing world aren't allowed on the team. The unfortunate few with such temerity are immediately cancelled and ostracized. Truth is the greatest enemy of poor leadership.

The US dollar just isn't what it used to be. The stranglehold placed on the rest of the world by forcing compliance with the US financial system is weakening. Alliances are held together through coercion, not bu like minded desire. Sanctions have more holes than a fish net and lead only to more self-reliance by target nations. The urgency to create functioning workarounds to the US financial system has never been greater. The implementation and rollout has never been nearer.

The age of gangster diplomacy is rapidly coming to a close.

What this means for the US remains to be seen. Whether it collapses entirely and fragments into civil war, or whether it can succeed in reshaping itself into a saner, humbler and less criminal version of its former self is anyone's guess.

What is certain is that if there is a positive reinvention of the US, it will come only as a result of honest self-reflection and where the human detritus that makes up the current ruling class is thrown out with the trash.

In any case, the US seems destined to play out Hank's adage to the bitter end and learn what it means to go through this process without friends.

I agree and the light at the end of the tunnel is that the stupids get culled by the vaxx. I know that is a sorry thing to say, because I always think most of my relatives got vaxxed and think I am some sort of kook for not. I second your Dear Larry letter. The danger for any investigator/researcher/writer is assuming any part of the narrative is true or valid. Where 'oh where is this Covid-19 virus, not isolated, not proven, and impossible test for outside of regular coronaviruses. We all know the PCR test is useless, so that means all the statistics that "proved" the virus was infecting populations, following bell curves is all complete and total bullshit.

We have no idea about this imaginary virus and what it was doing, it is all complete conjecture. When you say "bankers", who exactly are you referring to? It's certainly not the hundreds of thousands of banking employees that the public interfaces with since they come and go and aren't really bankers. There's only a small clique of real bankers at the major institutions and they are already part of the control grid, part of each others operations, part of the deep state that actually is the gov't, not those actors in congress and the white house. The true "bankers" won't miss a beat.

The middle manager "bankers", the high level people involved in sales and marketing and many others in lofty positions, but aren't real bankers, will get canned because they no longer serve a function. What is the wealth you speak of? Is it the accounting entries in some banking ledger? Is it stacks of green pieces of paper? India cancelled the bulk of their currency overnight and created a new currency unit that people could get by trading in the old version but with new rules attached. Lots of people / sites I listen to say a gold standard is the logical outcome, but then I only listen to people I think are credible and hence I dismiss alternate views.

I think a CBDC and / or SDR's will be tried but they just repackage the current fiat that's headed to oblivion. It makes no sense to me, but I'd bet long before a gold standard evolves, there will be one or more Lazarus attempts to keep / reinvigorate the current fiat system. I think it has to do with timing. If some event craters the Dollar before they're ready with the SDR's or CBDC, then those don't have a chance and gold is the only available option to put some reality behind the currency.

I'm hoping Russia will be forced into backing their Ruble with gold and then that sets a precedent that other nations can't ignore. Since the US stole the gold from the recently conquered nations they have that amount, but the original 8000 tons may not all be there. Any nation that tries to claim X amount of gold to back their script will have to prove it.

A commodity money standard, gold, silver, copper, oil, wheat, corn, etc prevents the political class and the bankers from conjuring "money" out of nothing. A country's currency is a dishonest proxy for honest money. Consider - there is no absolute need for any nation to have its own currency. The entire world could run on G:S:C (gold:silver:copper) in weight of metal, for example, with the metals being the most convenient money that history has managed to record. This gets gov't out of the money realm entirely and provides the entire world with a consistent money system where there is no arbitrage because the artificial "Dollar", "Yen", "Euro", etc don't exist.

The miners mine the metals, the refiners refine the metal, the mints mint the metal and the coins or bars indicate the purity and weight of the metal involved. Our true money could be stored in repositories and we could use debit cards as a convenience to transfer ownership via an appropriate accounting system. Nowhere in this process is gov't needed or wanted. Any crook in the chain of producing coins or bars would rapidly be found out and eliminated. The current system has enshrined the crooks as the controllers of the currency system.

Even with the unnecessary national currencies, if they were pegged 1:1 to some commodity and gov't could be trusted to not print more pieces of paper than the commodity they have indicates, then that would also prevent fractional reserve banking where the banks invent phony wealth with every loan.

With the CBDC push, gov't around the world are determined to further debase the concept of money and I think they will succeed because the average person hasn't the slightest idea what money is, that the currencies aren't money and that the banks invent phony money with every loan.

This time, Russia and China don't want to play ball. All the world's currencies are circling the bowl at the same time with an ever increasing portion of the world wanting to shun the Dollar. Every Dollar no longer needed for balance of payments is a dollar that will find its way back to the US to add inflationary pressure. The Fed can't prevent those dollars from going home. The best thing for the Ukrainians to do is surrender to save their towns and lives. Putin is never going to back down and can easily turn Kiev into miles of rubble. Suing for peace is the only sane optin (but of course we are dealing with Jews who will fight to the last Goyim).

All the weapons being sent to Ukraine can not get to Kiev because it is surrounded, and in fact Russia will capture or blow them up as they arrive near the border. And approaching convoy will be detected and bombed from on high. Western MSM is spinning non-stop lies about Ukrainian resistance, and fooling the Goyim that resistance is even a possibility. Sorry, the war is lost to the west, and Biden and his fool buddies in Europe think sanctions or SWIFT banishment will topple Putin, that is very doubtful - the banking system is going in lockup as the credit contagion spreads. In fact this whole war of Ukraine vs. Russia is cover for the inevitable collapse.

What does Russia want? Most immediately, to remove the neo-Nazi anti-Russian core that the Maidan massacre and coup put in place in 2014. Ukraine is to be neutralized, which to Russia means basically pro-Russian, dominated by Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. The aim is to prevent Ukraine from becoming a staging ground of U.S.-orchestrated anti-Russian moves a la Chechnya and Georgia.
