RSSThe 500K yearly excess deaths is an ~ 17% rise. Very significant, but something that might not be readily noticeable to many, especially given the time frame and age skew. If you ordinarily know 6 people a year that die, having a year with 7 funerals (an ~ 17% increase) might not seem atypical.
There was a jump in 2020 deaths of well over 500,000, a rise totally unprecedented in modern American history.
You’ve got to somehow adjust those numbers for the massive unemployment and wealth flight from NYC during that period in 2020.
It’s quite ironic that the party that was in power when it was revealed that the NSA was spying on every US citizen (and a ton of foreigners) – an obvious violation of the 4th Amendment – now want to moan about the unconstitutionality of this phone call. This impeachment is a sham because the real issues (Iraq War, the Financial Crisis, NSA/CIA spying, etc.) are not even being discussed. Who looks at this silly transcript and thinks it even ranks in the annals of criminal actions by US presidents?
That’s not to say Trump’s side is any better. Now William Barr wants to give access to encrypted WhatsApp messages to the Justice Department. Republicans have enabled the security state every step of the way. Democrats once at least pretended they opposed the alphabet agencies, now they do nothing but sing their praises.
Honestly there isn’t really much hope. Anyone who knows a bit about “deep learning” (or just plain old statistics) knows what kind of weapon the government can create with the amount of data and computing power they have access to. Not to mention tbe tech corporations. Be prepared for the mass psychosis of the population to reach untenable levels in 2020.
